We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and all at different stages, but we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost an incredible…......... 🌟 1205.75lbs 🌟 since the start of the first thread in Dec 16, which is amazing!

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Weighed in last week. 0.5lb off
Weighed in today, another 3.5 off taking me to a total 1.5 stone - very pleased with that

nikkylou · 23/10/2018 19:53

Well done :)

I lost 4.5 last week but managed to put on a 1lb this week.

honeysucklejasmine · 23/10/2018 19:55

Well done slithy, that's fab!

Nikky that's a good two week loss. Do you know why you gained this week?

honeysucklejasmine · 23/10/2018 19:55

D&V means I lost 4.5lbs but don't think that'll still be the case come the weekend. 😁

Honeysuckle, hope you are better now.

Wooo hooooo! Hooray for Autumn, I was dreading the end of salad weather as it is an easy lunch but remembered home made soup! Jumped on the scales this morning and I lost a lump of weight and I have reached the 40lbs off mark! The past 10lbs have been a struggle with various holidays, celebrations, stresses but I am mentally back in the game!

Yesterday had a slim bagel with smoked salmon for breakfast (yellow sticker bonus buy), lentil and bacon soup for lunch and homemade smoked haddock fish cakes with cabbage and a poached egg. I love my food and the only way I can do this is by having amazing tasting food, just smaller portions.

The soup took seconds to make, I fried off onion and bacon, added grated carrots, a tin of green lentils, chopped tomatoes, chicken stock and some spices and just let simmer for 30 minutes. I now have lunch for the next few days. I always blended soups before but realised it was more satisfactory to keep it lumpy.

Only 60lbs to go

moonlight1705 · 25/10/2018 12:11

Well done strawberry - I've got my homemade chunky tomato soup for lunch and really looking forward to it. Smile It sounds like you are totally back on it.

honey how are you doing? Hope the family are all getting better.

I'm exhausted this week - I'm in an amdram show all week and its proving to be fun but knackering. When you don't get home until 11.30pm and have to be up at 5.45am then it doesn't leave much room for sleeping or preparing decent meals. Its also dark when driving which is getting me down a bit.

I've lived mostly off jacket potatoes and soup this week but on Friday we are going for a post-show Indian so have chosen something that looks vaguely healthy.

Size 8 Jeans 👖😍

Oh my frigging God. It's all worth it for pulling on those jeans in Tesco this morning and them fitting!

moocowmrs · 25/10/2018 16:48

Fate that’s amazing !!!

I managed a comfy 16 in Sainsbury’s so happy ! xx

strawberrypig · 25/10/2018 20:48

Size 8! That is amazing, well done!

honeysucklejasmine · 26/10/2018 16:31

Wow, Fate! That's incredible!

I'm going a bit better but my body has responded to illness by retaining all the weight! Argh! Hoping that I might manage a STS by the weekend. I am so sick (this week literally) of maintaining at this point.

OP posts:
FATEdestiny · 26/10/2018 17:43

I've been ridgedly staying the same for ages now too - just above a new stone bracket too - see attached.

I am physically getting smaller in terms of measurements though, so I know the weight loss will start again soon (hopefully my 2lb loss this week marks the start of this...). That said, I accept that now my BMI is under 25, my weight loss will probably be slower. It's not like the 3-4lb a week I could expect when my BMI was in the 40s and high 30s.

Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus... Part 6!
honeysucklejasmine · 26/10/2018 19:29

Glad it's not just me, fate!

fezzesarecool · 26/10/2018 19:42

Did a post holiday weight in (yeah I know!) and fingers crossed most of it is AF but I will post as sts tomorrow and bang on it this week!

Hope everyone’s ok, I will have a read through soon

strawberrypig · 26/10/2018 19:43

Fate, staying the same is an amazing achievement, think how many people get to the healthy BMI range and then just pile the weight back on.

MagicKeysToAsda · 27/10/2018 08:41

Right. It's not been going well. I could claim stress / peri menopause / school hols / whatever - and they would all be true, but since I have had all those on and off during the past 15 months of weight loss, I think I need to say actually it's my head!

Total loss: 68lbs (had lost another 2, then gained back 4 since hitting the 5 stone off). My main meals are OK but the wheels have come off re snacking, and eating when I should be listening to feelings instead.

I am declaring a line drawn today. I have also re-set my target to a total of 77lbs. Part of the problem with my head is that I've never been this light (ha!) as an adult and I'm starting to sabotage to fulfil the prophecy that I can't do this. So I am going to try setting the "final" target half a stone at a time. A few weeks has not undone all the work to get here, but I really can't let it slide into a pattern. Onwards!

How is everyone else? Good weekend plans?

fezzesarecool · 27/10/2018 08:58

MagicKeysToAsda I’m in the same boat as you, I’ve regain at least 4lbs from holiday.

So line is drawn and I’ve got to get on it again now. You’re very right in saying we’re worked bloody hard to get to this point so let do this because we’ve already proved we can we know we can finish what we’ve started!

My favourite saying now is coming into play, 1 year is 365 opportunities. I’ve also had a NSV where I went on a carousel with no fear of breaking the horse and the best part was sharing that with my dd. I really do have a need sense of freedom when it comes to doing physical things and I don’t want to lose that again.

Onwards and downwards!

PostNotInHaste · 27/10/2018 11:38

Well done FATE, really brilliant !

Ok I’m a member of the line club and I’m aiming for a sensible November. Don’t know what I weigh and am not intending to find out just at the moment. Want to get back into KOKO. Change of routine has really thrown me. Was ok at the start but after several weeks felt all up in the air and reflected in food choices somewhat.

So in spirit of fresh start have Parkrun and walked dog and will be passing on takeaway if rest of family decide they want it later as I don’t.

moonlight1705 · 27/10/2018 12:47

I've lost 0.5lb this week which isn't bad. I've had less time for snacking on rubbish and chose a healthy alternative Indian last night at our show curry night.

I'm screwed on setting any lines right now but will cheer you all on from the sidelines.

Quandary2018 · 27/10/2018 16:28

On Monday after my post wedding weigh in I was 258.2lbs, today I’m 253lbs so very pleased with that!
Going to be a tricky week as it’s half term here, plus Halloween so so much temptation around me plus less chance to do the exercise I normally do
Shall see how it goes!

honeysucklejasmine · 27/10/2018 19:07

I am definitely in a snacking mood at the moment. I think I'm in the danger zone where I think I've got a hold on it, and it's just a little here, little there. And before you know it it's a few extra hundred calories. Blush

Moonlight, Quandary, well done on your losses.

Walkinthecountry · 28/10/2018 00:12

Posting for accountability - I'm starting on Monday after getting into many bad habits and needing to re-think my entire routine regarding food and exercise. No idea how much I weigh today - somewhere over 14 stone, and at 5 ft 5 I know that it's too much. Mum and DH have both expressed concern over my recent weight gain, and I know that it's not going to be easy to lose it, but so many inspiring stories here, I'm hoping that it's possible for me too.

MagicKeysToAsda · 28/10/2018 08:40

Holds hands with Fezzes and Post - we can do this. 1 day of good choices, that's my goal for my head today. Tesco delivery due in a bit, and no other plans today so will try and make soup to set myself up some easy good choices for the week.

Walkinthepark - welcome, I hope today is a great start for you! My maths may be off, but are you really aiming for a final weight of under 7 stone? I think that's 100lbs off from 14 stone, and seems very extreme for your height. Feel free to tell me my sums are wrong! All are very welcome here, but mainly this will be a place where we talk about the challenges of losing a lot of weight (100lbs / just over 7 stone). Many of us will have had a long journey to get down towards your starting weight.

PostNotInHaste · 28/10/2018 08:56

Welcome Walkinthecountry! Well done Moonlight, you’re doing really brilliantly and we’ll be cheering you on when D day comes! Quandry that’s good and ties into what a few of us have found, scales shoot up after Big occasion or bit of time where things not fine to plan but usually it’s water and buggers off quite quickly.

Ok Team Line, we’re sorting this ! Yesterday went ok, today is potentially dodgy as ran yesterday which makes me hungry, have bad PMT plus DD Home and needs feeding up. I need to keep eye on the ball. Mightbsee if I can make DC pumpkin carve despite their advanced ages now and make pumpkin soup.

fezzesarecool · 28/10/2018 09:26

MagicKeysToAsda I was doing well yesterday good wise but then a friend of my was very upset so we went to the pub. Which was still ok as I had calories left over but after a couple of double vodkas I came home with big time munchies!

So I’m at work today and should definitely get back on track. Fingers crossed, it sounds like us three are having a mental block but we’re in it together and this is just a lapse.
