Hello, welcome to the sixth instalment (wow!) of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus …’ thread smile

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and all at different stages, but we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

Collectively, we’ve lost an incredible…......... 🌟 1205.75lbs 🌟 since the start of the first thread in Dec 16, which is amazing!

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Thanks guys! Just home from the gym followed by Metafit. Gubbed!! Off to make a chilli chicken x

Travis1 · 28/09/2018 21:21

Ended up making fajita pasta, had no noodles for my chilli chicken 🙄 875 calories and totally worth it!

give me your best quick evening meals please

Veg that goes straight from packet into steamer without needing peeling. For example mange tout, fine beans, kale, baby corn, pak choi, spinich. Then serve with foil steamed chicken breast or fish - ready in 20 minutes. Or serve with quorn sausages - low fat, low calorie but really delicious. Cooks in 20 mins.

honeysucklejasmine · 29/09/2018 06:45

Quick dinners...

Sausage pasta bake
Sweet and sour
Burgers
Chilli con carne
Cajun chicken pasta

Honestly, pretty much everything I cook can be done in 30 minutes whilst being screamed at by two clingy preschoolers. What sorts of things do you like?

Getoffthetableplease · 29/09/2018 07:24

Well done moocow! Urm, ditto what honey said re dinners, most I make are around the 30 min mark so just depends what you like. If I ever want something super simple and fast then I tend to do steak and spinach and onion salad, or pasta with passata, or just an omelette (love them with peas, mint and a bit of cheese). Quorn mince always handy in freezer to make super speedy chillis or bologneses too.

Exciting how many people are up for the 12 week challenge Smile

moonlight1705 · 29/09/2018 12:03

Well I knew my little binge week would have an effect so have put on 0.5lb

Still this week is a new week and have started with two hours of gardening and spanish omelette for lunch.

Total loss: 15.5lb

moocowmrs · 30/09/2018 10:19

Making these for dinner tonight! DH is a Dairy farmer and always late on a Sunday as he is on his own so thought this would keep better than a roast.

strawberrypig · 30/09/2018 10:33

I recognise that recipe, it's Tom Kerridge's and it is blooming gorgeous!

moocowmrs · 30/09/2018 10:56

That’s good to know strawberry all in marinading now !

MagicKeysToAsda · 30/09/2018 12:12

Roast chicken here today for us - which means chicken risotto tomorrow, and chicken soup for lunches Smile

I am trying to keep the faith that healthy, nutritious sensible portion food (and a more hardcore attitude to any snackage) will get the scales moving in the end. The house smells lovely from the roast anyway!

What are people's plans today? I have a flat pack sideboard awaiting my attention this afternoon. Electric screwdriver is on charge, and I'm keen to get started!

moonlight1705 · 30/09/2018 15:02

How's your flat pack going Magic ?

I've just done by green belt grading in taekwondo today and am knackered. Think I've passed but we'll fund out tonight when I go to class.

Made a delicious butternut squash soup with lots of spices. Smile Just off to prep some veg for roast, we've got home grown beans and leek!

Getoffthetableplease · 30/09/2018 16:20

Oh fingers crossed/well done moonlight, it's all about getting the green belt here for the two biggest!

Today we had a long walk which started off all together but was unhappy families from before the gate shut! Ended up with me branching off with one child and two dogs whilst dh took the screaming non napping toddler home in a desperate sleep mission. Family time, hey?! I did a huge full works turkey dinner, even forced everyone to sing Christmas songs and now have the whole lot to clean up, haha. Was bloody lovely though! Fast day tomorrow, which I feel ready for, although I've still been under my tdee calories :)

Dh is going sober for October, which is a huge deal as he does drink every night. I'm forseeing some tricky diet times ahead as he cooks random junk for supper each night to compensate for his lack of beer calories etc. He's done it before and he ends up eating LOADS more. Tonight will probably be my last night of having a clean kitchen (if I ever get around to tidying the roast pots) Grin

honeysucklejasmine · 30/09/2018 17:33

DS's birthday party today. 0.5lbs loss, 73.75lbs total.

We've had pulled pork, turkey chilli, rice, wraps, nachos, refried beans... Etc etc. Lush as.

Looking forward to kick starting with the 12 week challenge.

Sorry for falling off the thread. Had a lot of offline nonsense which led to a lot of comfort eating. It's still ongoing so not got enough time to do a proper post but just wanted to say welcome to the newbies and well done to those who are KOKO. Twelve week challenge sounds great! Good luck everyone.

Fezzes we're going to do this!

fezzesarecool · 30/09/2018 21:48

honeysucklejasmine 🤞I’m hoping for 1lb this week as it turns out it’ll be a crazy one with Hospital appoints, workshops and PTA meeting so literally not going to get my normal exercise routine in

I feel like I’ve been stalling, just 1lb here and there since the summer holidays and now the mojo is back and I want to get back on track but I can’t do everything I want to do this week So frustrating!

I know we all have bad/busy weeks etc but this feels like it’s constant for the last 4 weeks I really want to hit the overweight goal with you!

MagicKeysToAsda · 30/09/2018 22:00

Flat pack was a challenge, but finished by about 5.30 and thankfully I really like it.

Have drawn myself a little chart in my diary so am all set for the 12 week turnaround Grin

Travis1 · 30/09/2018 22:46

I’ve had a good weekend old and exercise wise despite being ok for breakfast=ast this morning - thank god for kcal kitchen - and being at my aunts for dinner. Took a picture of my plate to work out calories when I got home 😂🙈

Did 2 x 2 mile walks yesterday and roughly a 5 mile walk today. Back to the gym tomorrow night. My figure is changing which is good, I’m trying not t o focus so much on the weight x

honeysucklejasmine · 01/10/2018 08:22

Yes Travis, I think I need to take my measurements again. I've been a bit down in the dumps about it lately, but I wore a size 14 dress for DS's party yesterday. I have forgotten how incredible that is. Size 14!

Fezzes I'm going to have an interesting week too as DH is off work and we'll be doing some day trips. Also, there is birthday cake left.

OP posts:
Travis1 · 01/10/2018 12:06

Well I did my measurements last night and whilst I've lost inches everywhere else my arms are 1" bigger!!!! What's that all about??

Size 14 dress is amazing @honeysuckle well done you! I can't wait to be able to go clothes shopping and not have to look for the biggest size in everything.

honeysucklejasmine · 01/10/2018 17:32

Travis I don't know about you but my arms are quite squishy so I have to be careful how tight I pull the tape.

OP posts:
honeysucklejasmine · 01/10/2018 18:42

Sorry I was cooking. I mean, if I pulled too tight the first time I found my measurements increased as I didn't pull so tight next time.

OP posts:
Travis1 · 01/10/2018 19:15

I wonder if that’s it, my DH helped yesterday but every other time I’ve done it myself so maybe I have pulled too tight. Ho hum. It’s generalky going in the right direction so I can’t complain really
