Hello,
I was wondering how much weight u fellow vlcd people have lost in the space of 10 weeks. I am planning to attend a friends wedding in 10 weeks and am attempting to loose weight. I am abit 5 stone overweight so i am desperate to loose some weight using exante till the wedding.
Looking forward to hearing your success stories.

Lost 1 lb this week.

I've copied and pasted my post from the other thread, apologies if you've already seen it.

Fell off the wagon last night, dd1 was having nachos with cheese and thought in my stupid wisdom that I'd just have a side plate serving, well that turned into 2 plates and half a bag of maoam's, went to bed feeling sick and with a splitting headache, still have the headache.

I forgot that we're meant to increase carb intake slowly. I well and truly messed that up.
(Not that I thought a ton of maoam's was the right way grinblushconfused)

I must have kicked myself out of ketosis now so not going to try and get back in before Christmas, instead I'm going to increase my carbs to a moderate level so the rich desserts etc dont induce this awful headache during Christmas.

KingsScorn · 20/12/2018 07:39

Ugh @ the reaction to the carb increase! Wise move I think to come off now (it is the 20th of December after all!) and get yourself carb ready for Christmas. It made sense to come off on your last WI before Christmas anyway.

Well done on the 1 lb loss this week!

My losses this week are...predictably disappointing (double whammy of being mid-cycle (always my slowest weight loss time) and 9/10 weeks in (I always seem to stall a bit here))...so far:

-0.4, 0.0, 0.0, +0.4 = 0.0!

Maybe I'll get a whoosh but my doable goal of getting to 2.5 st loss is looking dubious now (need to lose another 1.6 lbs). I'll be dragging myself through these next three days...

Given what you've said I should probably start coming off now but I think I need to hit 10 weeks exactly for the sake of it. I shall be avoiding carbs at the first meal out that breaks the diet now after your experience.

Hope you feel better today!

KingsScorn

I stalled in weeks 11 and 18, try not to get disheartened, it frustrating that its happened now but theres still time between now and Sunday. Even though I weigh frequently I dont count a mid week weigh in, only on official weigh day.

The carb thing was way too much all at once and the worst possible type. Low gi carbs initially is what you need to bring you without negative effects.

KingsScorn · 20/12/2018 21:42

Thank you MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting

I decided to start the process of coming off this evening, rather than wait until Sunday. I didn't make particularly wise choices (one slice of bread with peanut butter, an extra VLCD bar and a couple of crispbreads) due to not planning it at all and have a very mild stomach ache now. I decided that I would like to have some alcohol at our meal out on Sunday so have to be out of ketosis by then.

Tomorrow I think I will have packs as normal up until the afternoon when I've been shopping. Can't say I enjoyed the bread and peanut butter as much as I thought I would. I'll be getting in healthier things tomorrow.

How do you feel today?

KingsScorn · 20/12/2018 21:46

Just read by post previous to my last one...guess I contradicted myself!

KingsScorn · 21/12/2018 08:54

Went down 0.2 lbs today (despite the carbs last night) and stomach ache didn't develop so got away with that.

Not set plan today other than do what my body tells me to do. I am thinking that will probably be packs and normal + a nice salad (what I keep craving!) and maybe a few sweet potato fries. My body is used to having small amounts of food so I want to stick to that this coming week.

I've come round to thinking that this is a good time - just before I break into sub 190/just before 2.5 st loss - to have the weeks break so that I am really motivated with a couple of key mini goals to get back on. Still worried though! Bottom-line is that it is 100% down to me what I do and I am in control of that.

KingsScorn · 23/12/2018 08:03

I'm completely out of Ketosis now and have had alcohol the last two nights.

Thursday I had packs as normal + extras
Friday I had packs 1 and 2 as normal and then what I wanted
Saturday I had pack 1 as normal and then what I wanted from lunch

I haven't had enough alcohol to give me a hangover but I've really noticed how it affects my sleep and energy levels the next day having not had a drink for so long.

Today is my official WI day and I've gained 2.8 lbs this week (due to not losing anything for the first half and the coming off plan the second half). It is uncomfortable seeing the scales going in this direction...hopefully I will get it off again in a flash when Christmas is over!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 23/12/2018 14:00

Hi KingsScorn

Today's the first day I've started to feel 'normal' I've been so lethargic and grumpy and just blugh. I feel like its taken some time for my body to get used to bring fuelled by glucose again rather than fat.

I had my first alcohol last night and had a headache this morning which may or may not be the wine (I've had so many headaches lately its had to tell)

I'm going to stay off the scales I think till I'm done with Christmas, I hopped on yesterday and the number was not good, 3.5lb gain.

Are you better now?

KingsScorn · 25/12/2018 09:38

Merry Christmas MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting!

I am about 95% better, thank you. Still have an occasional mild cough but pretty much better. I had put down the lethargy and complete lack of motivation down to the cold but having read your post now...it may well be the food or that isn't helping anyway. DH got the cold a few days after me but he is suffering with his ears/sinuses too so we're not a great team on the Christmas enthusiasm front. Thankfully we've opted for a quiet Christmas so it is just us and no hosting.

Just dawned on me that I didn't WI today. I've gained every single day since I came off so I dare say today would be no different. I'm pretty much eating what I want but at the same time feel that I will be ready to get back on it within the next day or so.

Teen DC not up yet! I might get dressed and do a little bit of the housework I've been putting off for weeks!

KingsScorn · 26/12/2018 17:51

Hope Christmas went well!

I am, somehow, going to start the process of getting back on tomorrow. I expect it to take several days and I really want to be back on 100% by NYD. I still think the VLCD is the right thing for me as I am really looking forward to not having to think about food choices!

I feel pretty grim now and I'm 5.2 lbs up from where I was this time last week (I am assuming that 90% of that is water weight that will come off quickly...). DH has poured me a glass of prosecco - it isn't going down well - I take that as a sign that I've had enough now. I know this isn't going to be easy...

KingsScorn · 28/12/2018 18:00

Things are going...badly!

I miss being in ketosis and feeling slimmer...but clearly not enough.

Today was the first day I haven't gained since coming off but I haven't made any real steps towards getting back on either. I'm on the gin and a very nice clementine tonic now.

I knew this would be hard! Maybe my offical WI day on Sunday will bring about a more convincing effort...

KingsScorn · 30/12/2018 09:31

WI day...gained 2.8 lbs since last Sunday

I've gained 5.6 lbs in the 10 days I've been off plan and I'm 6 lbs above my lowest point and I'm really not further forward towards getting back on plan. I know this will come off in the first week and it is mainly 'water weight'.

Hopefully, there will be more positive news next Sunday!

KingsScorn · 31/12/2018 11:24

I'm doing my NY resolutions and I've decided leaving MN is going to have to be one of them.

Whilst I don't post much (apart from this thread) I spend way, way too much time reading other threads and it has become unhealthy and unproductive.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting - Thank you for all your support! I am 'zeke' on myfitnesspal if you use that site. I am making a more serious effort to 'get back on' today having got rid of all the food I needed to now. Congratulations again on such a successful 2018 weight-loss wise. I wish you continued success in removing the Christmas pounds on maintenance and a very happy 2019!

I was just checking in to see how you were getting on now you've restarted KingsScorn, you probably won't see this now but I wish you the best of luck going forward. Take care.

NoCanoe · 11/01/2019 11:26

@Minnie - oh wow, your photo is so damned impressive! Im delighted for you - and very envious! Wink

My plans for restarting exante time in Dec came to nought. I've had a virus for last 4 weeks so not eating much anyway. Sad
Beginning to come out the other side, so thinking of commencing next week.
