KingsScorn definitely just a dream at the moment, although I have just been tormenting myself with before and after photos.

Good luck for tomorrow

KingsScorn · 25/11/2018 08:21

Thank you for the good luck MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting - it must've worked! I had a very nice surprise on the scales this morning - a whoosh!

Start: BMI 36.4
Wk 1: BMI 35.0 (-8.8 lbs)
Wk 2: BMI 34.4 (-3.8 lbs)
Wk 3: BMI 34.0 (-2.2 lbs)
Wk 4: BMI 33.5 (-3.4 lbs)
Wk 5: BMI 33.0 (-2.6 lbs)
Wk 6: BMI 32.5 (-3.4 lbs)

Total loss = 24.2 lbs (in six weeks)

So very happy about the 3.4 lbs loss this week (really wasn't expected that) and I am 199.8 lbs this morning. Sub 200 lbs was a major goal of mine and I really wasn't expecting to meet that this week!

I was last sub 200 lbs in Feb 2015, so it has been a while.

So, I vow (ignoring normal fluctuations in next few days) NEVER to go above 200 lbs again.

I've made this vow before but I really feel this time is very different for a number of reasons - I am different now, I've been above it for far longer (years rather than a month or less), I've crossed it after losing much more weight, and as a consequence it is much more significant.

KingsScorn That's really great. Well done, so happy for you.

Going below 200 is great the mini goals really help keep you motivated. I was surprised by how emotional I felt when I got out of the obese range, it had been something like 10-11 years and it meant so much to me.

I like your graph, my weight tracker does a graph but it's not very easily readable.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 25/11/2018 13:46

The green line is the rate the app says I should have progressed at.

Think it has me not reaching target weight till early 2020

KingsScorn · 25/11/2018 13:55

Thank you!

Love you graph MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting - it really shows your journey well and just what a remarkable loss it is. Incredible that you are over a year early meeting your goal! WOW!

Mine is from fridgegraph - it dates back to early 2010 - when I was horrified to see I was at my heaviest weight ever of 15 st so then vowed to WI regularly whether I was losing weight or not. That worked in stopping me get to yet another 'heaviest ever' for six years but then things went really bad - hence my starting weight this time of 16st. I have been a member since 2006 - I deleted all my data pre-2010 though. Regret that a bit now but never mind!

The yo-yoing is stopping now. In 2019 I am getting to my goal weight and staying within shooting distance of it. The red lines are my birthdays with ages on. I hope that by my 46th birthday I'll be at the lowest point on the graph so far...

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 25/11/2018 14:02

That's great KingsScorn I wish I kept mine seeing yours.

Every time I started a diet I'd track my weight but everytime i fell off the wagon I'd delete, it's almost like in my head I could pretend it hadn't happened if I deleted the proof of it. Madness I know.

Had to have images removed, I hadn't realised they had my name on, reposting with name blanked out

Good spot - I didn’t notice that!

KingsScorn · 26/11/2018 16:25

How is everyone getting on?

I ordered two new cookbooks (slowly going to start replacing some of my cookbooks with plant based ones) that arrived today - 'BOSH!' and 'Deliciously Ella - The plant based cookbook'. To prepare me for Christmas week.

I know that I will still be on the VLCD for nearly 4 weeks (until 23rd Dec) but feel the need to plan. I'm worried I guess. Not that I am convinced looking at these cookbooks is a good idea! I guess I could start calorie counting the recipes...

My plan at the moment is:

Sun 23rd Dec - VLCD day but with 2+ course Vegan meal out in evening. No alcohol (I will be driving). This will be DH and DC full on traditional Christmas dinner.
Mon 24th - porridge pack in morning as usual, veg snacks if hungry, plant based lunch + dinner. Glass of wine or two with dinner.
Tue 25th - whatever I fancy (plant based). Only have alcohol in evening (when guests have left - they are not staying for food, just nibbles in the afternoon).
Wed 26th - calorie counted plant based. No alcohol.
Thu 27th - introduce packs back in but still have some regular food.
Fri 28th - Packs only, as few as I can manage (probably 5 or 6)
Sat 29th - Packs only, hopefully one less than yesterday (on assumption not down to 4 yet).
Sun 30th - back on 4 packs/day

On the assumption that I will be up for another (10 week?) VLCD. I definitely plan to be on a diet of some sort fully by Sun 30th though and only take one week 'off'.

plumstone · 27/11/2018 13:57

Kings - and just bought another 100 packs which hopefully should see me through December.

KingsScorn · 27/11/2018 14:26

Should do plumstone! I've ordered another months supply (+ extra free in the SnS sale)...didn't really need to do another order but thought I have best take advantage of the offer and avoid and ordering over Christmas! Guess we're committed now!

plumstone · 28/11/2018 09:54

Kings, totally - I need to focus on this - and have just discovered I am heading to a hot country for a work trip in Jan, this has focused the mind somewhat!!!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 28/11/2018 21:02

Lost 1 1/2lb this week. Exceptionally pleased with that, I wasnt expecting much if any loss this week because I had a good week last week.

Probably won't lose next week but I'm ok with that.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok

KingsScorn · 29/11/2018 08:28

Well done MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting!

Will you be off the VLCD by the work trip plumstone? Plenty of time to make a significant difference to your weight by then anyway!

I've noticed a bit of a trend with my daily weigh-ins...not enough data to come to any conclusions but find it interesting anyway. Looking at the last 4 weeks ....

I STS on a Monday (0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0)
I gain slightly on a Friday (+0.4, +0.4, +0.4, +0.2) - only day I have ever gained on
I lose the most on a Sunday (-1.2, -0.8, -0.6, -1.4)

I've got the day off work today. The house needs about 3 intensive days of housework so...hoping I can drum up the motivation for that now...

plumstone · 29/11/2018 11:37

Great results people!

If I can be under 11 stone the day I get on the plane I will be delighted!! that essentially a stone in 6 weeks, which with Christmas, meals out, NY and my birthday - I think is a) achievable and b) realistic. As long as I stick to being on plan when not out, and LCHF when I am I think this should be a win. The goal is 9st.7 by Easter and then a consolidated 5 months of "learning to maintain my weight"

KingsScorn · 01/12/2018 13:04

That does sound like a realistic goal Plumstone, and plan whilst you are there!

I've had a NSV this week - I can get off my engagement ring (not that I want it off but I didn't have the option before!). I still can't get my wedding ring off though - think I'll need to lose another 10-14 lbs for that. I would like an eternity ring now (we've been married 15 yrs) so that is a step closer now - I would like to be slimmer than I was on my wedding day (I was a size 14) for that though...maybe next anniversary...

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 01/12/2018 17:13

KingsScorn similar here regarding rings, except I can get mine on now. Haven't worn my real ones since around about 2008. My dh bought me a replacement wedding band and I wore my mums old rings after my parents split but they're all to big.
Both rings fit now but wedding band still a little tight so not wearing it yet. Was a lot lighter when I got married

KingsScorn · 01/12/2018 18:42

You were sensible taking them off before they got stuck on like mine! Thankfully, haven't had a reason to take them off!

I was around 11 - 11.5 st (late twenties - at the time this was at the heavier end of my range) when I got married - I was going to diet a bit before but ended up ever so slightly...pregnant...instead (only 6 wks)! I ended up just buying a fairly simple dress off the peg a couple of weeks before. I didn't love it - strapless was a mistake. I wish I had put more effort into it now! A recurring dream/wish is to have an anniversary celebration when I am at my ideal weight, wear a lovely outfit, get some simple nice photos done of us and start wearing an eternity ring. I don't want a vow renewal or anything like that though. We still haven't had a honeymoon (15 yrs and counting)!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 01/12/2018 20:03

KingsScorn I've been married 15 years as well and we didnt do a honeymoon, our journeys are freakishly similar. I was between 10st 3lb - 10st7lb (size 12) when I got married. I looked good at that weight but was miserable trying to maintain it which is why I've not set my goal within the healthy BMI range.

It's funny though because I've said above i looked good at that size but when i was that size i still wasn't happy, remember complaining about my thighs and hips but looking back can see it.

KingsScorn · 02/12/2018 08:13

WI Day! Smile

Start: BMI 36.4
Wk 1: BMI 35.0 (-8.8 lbs)
Wk 2: BMI 34.4 (-3.8 lbs)
Wk 3: BMI 34.0 (-2.2 lbs)
Wk 4: BMI 33.5 (-3.4 lbs)
Wk 5: BMI 33.0 (-2.6 lbs)
Wk 6: BMI 32.5 (-3.4 lbs)
Wk 7: BMI 32.0 (-2.8 lbs)

Total loss = 27 lbs (in seven weeks) - high hopes for hitting 2 st off in the next few days!

We have had very similar journeys MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting! Lowest weight I got down to was 137 lbs (9st 11 lbs) - felt pretty amazing there (but, of course, still wanted to lose another 5-7 lbs!). Looking back a photos of me any where up to 11.5 st - I look completely fine. If only I could've realised that at the time. I've set my goal weight at 11st (BMI 25) - going to see how I feel when I get there/concentrate on maintaining that first.

I'm hoping I will be able to maintain my weight easier when I've finished now I've get to grips with my alcohol consumption and cut out meat and dairy. I've never really maintained any weight other than my recent highest (which was very little meat and diary but too much alcohol). I want to start adding in some weight lifting soon, or at the very least when I start maintenance

KingsScorn · 02/12/2018 09:26

easier = more easily
diary = dairy
etc etc...
sigh

That reminds me. I think I'm becoming more forgetful whilst on this diet (I've noticed at work). It might just be age but...not that I'm going to let that stop me!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 02/12/2018 20:59

Well done KingsScorn fingers crossed for hitting 2 stone next week.

I've had a bumpy day, the children wanted to make cookies, normally I can ignore them but a few may have slipped in today.
I do this, get near the end and then buckle, got within 6 lbs of hitting target doing weight watchers many years ago, it's like I'm comfortable being a failure so self sabotage.

KingsScorn · 02/12/2018 22:30

Thank you MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting

As you know, they key thing is not to berate yourself for that. If you've just had a few cookies then you'll still be under the calories your body needs for today.

It certainly isn't an easy journey. I've never got to goal either - within touching distance but never there. I've got no idea whether I will manage another three weeks, and then, after Christmas, get back on it. I feel like I've planned for that this time round though. I'm in awe of you doing it for 20+ weeks (how many is it now?) and losing 5 st.

I've eaten too many sugar-free jellies today. I sometimes have two but today I've had three. I've got a mild stomach ache and belching now (nice, sorry). Pretty sure that's why. I don't really want to be eating them at all (they contain pork gelatin...and I want to be 100% plant based when I'm off this).

I'm going to have to throw myself into some other project. I'm making time go slower focusing on the diet so much...it will just tick along if I let it.

Wishing you an easy day tomorrow!

MrsDeanWinchester75 · 02/12/2018 23:08

Good to see everyone still doing well, Cambridge do 60 day challenges and my plan is to complete two.

My first one is done and I've lost 2st 3lbs and have 1st 12 to goal, I'm hoping to get there in this next challenge but I have 2 planned meals, one for my husband's 50th and Christmas.
I'll be on plan for every meal aside those two so fingers crossed.

Whatever I weigh on 31st January when the second challenge ends will be where I end the diet and reintroduce food, I struggle with open ended diets and find it really keeps me motivated to have an end date in sight.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 03/12/2018 09:06

Thanks KingsScorn, I am very self deprecating and struggle to accept compliments etc but very good at berating myself.

It's not just been the cookies, I've been picking and over 800 every day this week the cookies were just the main fall, the rest of the stuff hasn't been to carb heavy. We'll see on Wednesday what the damage is. I'm hoping for staying the same.

Are you working towards plant based for health or ethical reasons, sorry if you've already said and I havent remembered.

Completed 25 weeks now, cant believe it's been so long, seems to have flown by.

Hoping today will be better, busy at work the next 2 days so that should help.

MrsDeanWinchester75 2st 3lb is great well done. Have you found the cambridge consultant useful?
