Hello,
I was wondering how much weight u fellow vlcd people have lost in the space of 10 weeks. I am planning to attend a friends wedding in 10 weeks and am attempting to loose weight. I am abit 5 stone overweight so i am desperate to loose some weight using exante till the wedding.
Looking forward to hearing your success stories.

Hi Peachypips - I agree - it does get so much easier and the good easy days far outweigh the struggling days - you're nearly through the really hard bit, hope today is easy for you!

KingsScorn · 09/11/2018 09:13

Good luck with refeed paranoiamumma

Are you planning to start the VLCD again after Christmas or are you going to do a LCD?

paranoiamumma · 09/11/2018 16:02

Probably just follow a low calorie diet with weekly weigh ins so hopefully I can nip it in the bud.

Peachypips · 10/11/2018 13:26

Feeling a lot better today and yesterday. Still hungry and cross but not so bad! Had an Exante shake and pancakes and for dinner a salad and a bar.

Well done all for your losses! My first weigh in tomorrow. Really hope it's good as I've stuck to it like glue! I've always been a slow loser on other diets though so will try and manage my expectations. Feeling much slimmer round the middle.

KingsScorn · 10/11/2018 14:04

That's good Peachypips - hopefully the hunger will go and your mood will improve very soon too.

My WI is Sunday too - look forward to seeing your week 1 results tomorrow!

KingsScorn · 11/11/2018 07:53

WI day for me - very pleased! Smile

Start: BMI 36.4
Wk 1: BMI 35.0 (-8.8 lbs)
Wk 2: BMI 34.4 (-3.8 lbs)
Wk 3: BMI 34.0 (-2.2 lbs)
Wk 4: BMI 33.5 (-3.4 lbs)

Total loss 18.2 lbs (in four weeks)

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 11/11/2018 13:12

Well done KingsScorn another good loss. 👏

Peachypips · 11/11/2018 14:42

That's amazing KingsScorn - we'll done! How much more do you want to lose?

I have lost 8 pounds whoop!

KingsScorn · 11/11/2018 15:09

Thank you MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting and Peachypips

Well done Peachypips!!! Fabulous first week result! Star

I want to lose a lot more! In this 'pre christmas' phase I am hoping to lose at least 2 stone (which will take me down to a BMI of 31.9 or below). I hit 10 weeks on 23rd December but I plan to come off it partly slightly before that, and then have a food break over Christmas (I am going to stick to 1300 kcals and use packs most days). I don't think I will go wild as I've already stopped having animal products (after the VLCD I plan to be much, much stricter with that - I know that the packs contain some).

The plan is that I will be 100% back on the VLCD by New Years Day for another...not sure how long before I have another food break - I'm just going to see how it goes.

I started at 16 st exactly and need to be 11 st to have a BMI of 25 - so I want to lose at least 5 st. I can think beyond that but it is probably best not to at this stage - I'm just going to focus on getting there. I am imagining using a combination of VLCD and LCD to get there. To maintain I plan to follow a WFPB (whole food plant based) diet.

How about you?

Peachypips · 11/11/2018 16:16

I am 5'3" and started with a BMI of 30 at 12st 8. Am a size 12-14 though so am generally quite a heavy person, and according to my wrist am of medium-large build so never going to be a waif!

I would be happy with 10st as that is a bmi of 25, but 9 would be amazing. Planning to do this until the kids break up, then have ten days break and start again on 1st Jan. I need to be careful not to put it back on over that time though as I put weight on vvv easily.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 11/11/2018 21:23

Well done Peachypips

KingsScorn we have similar start, end goal, I started at 16st 10lb and want to end up 11st-11st7lb

I'm taking Christmas off completely, I should 🤞 be at goal by then so going to be back on it in the new year to lose whatever I regain over the festive period😃🌲

KingsScorn · 12/11/2018 15:26

It is interesting to see where we are all at!

How exciting to think that you will be at goal by Christmas MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting!

10 st or below would be my amazing weight (I am just under 5'6''). I was 28 (45 now!) when I was last there (9 st 10 lbs to be exact) though - I did feel really good, and loved buying clothes then, but still felt like I could do with losing another 5 - 7 lbs...if only I had realised how amazing it was and just concentrated on maintaining it.

On my spreadsheet I've got a list of loads and loads of mini goals (love ticking them off). The ones that mean the most though are the rolling back the time ones - I feel like I've 'lost' myself to obesity over the most recent years.

Sub 210 lbs - MET (last there Aug '16) - so now lighter than I have been for 2+ years
Sub 200 lbs - May 2015 (soon! 6 lbs to go!)
Sub 190 lbs - May 2014
Sub 180 lbs - Sep 2013
Sub 170 lbs - June 2013
Sub 160 lbs - Dec 2004 (just a few months after I had last baby!)
Sub 150 lbs - Aug 2002
Sub 140 lbs - Mar 2001
Sub 130 lbs - sometime in 1992, maybe, for about a week!

Going sub 160 lbs (and then 11st) will be AMAZING. I have to keep reminding myself of that. It is a land that I haven't visited for a very, very long time now!

Peachypips · 13/11/2018 09:26

Morning all!

That's really good having those goals- really interesting to see the change over the years too.

I was 9 stone when I got married at 24, lowest after baby no 1 in 2008 was 10st 12, lowest after baby no 2 in 2010 was 11st 5. Now crept up to above12st again. Heaviest was 16 st after I had baby 2.

It's so interesting to look back and see my weight patterns! I am now 40, so it has been 16 years since I was at my goal weight 😮! I hadn't realised. I'd be happy with 10 st though, as it brings my bmi to 25. I am only 5'3".

Fell off the wagon a bit yesterday. Had our food delivery and got six Heston chocolate and cherry mince pies. I looked at them, thought fuck it then ate 2. Kicking myself! Only sent 350 cals over but still. Will I come out of ketosis?

ProseccoMadeMeDoIt · 13/11/2018 11:27

Hi all, hoping I can join you.

I've done CWP in the past and loved it, but the weight has come back on. I weight this morning and weight 12st 9lbs Blush I'm so annoyed with myself. I'd love to be 11 stone by Christmas and going to try Exante, three shakes a day starting today.

Two questions, without the pressure of being weighed by someone how do you keep motivated, I was thinking maybe asking my mum to weigh me? Also, does anyone use ketosis sticks, if so which brand would you recommend?

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 13/11/2018 14:31

ProseccoMadeMeDoIt welcome

I've found the it's the losses which keep me motivated.
I use ketostix by Bayer

KingsScorn · 13/11/2018 18:55

Peachypips - have you seen the advert when the woman on the piano, and the entire audience is desperate for one of those? They do sound good (were they?).

When I had my 'blip' (well I decided to swap to a LCD but it only lasted one evening before I went back to VLCD) - I didn't come out of ketosis. I had more then 350 kcals too. I hate rice cakes, hummus, tomatoes and loads of bread sticks - so carb heavy. Just ignore it and carry on.

ProseccoMadeMeDoIt Hello!

I don't use ketostix (I did try then the first time I did a VLCD though 6 years ago) - my husband telling me by breath is bad and not being really hungry on so few calories tells me I am in ketosis.

To keep motivated I have all my mini goals on my spreadsheet and my predictor. I also update my weight on fridgegraph (I LOVE this site - been using it for years). You can add friends on it, set a goal line and set up challenges etc. Clothes being looser/getting into smaller sizes is pretty motivating too! I like browsing at clothes online too. It helps having somewhere to WI weekly too (here!) and coming here to discuss things like this with other people doing the same!

KingsScorn · 13/11/2018 18:56

I had rice cakes - I do not hate them! That and the missing commas etc. Oh for an edit button!

ProseccoMadeMeDoIt · 13/11/2018 19:25

Oooo thanks KingsScorn, just checked out FridgeGraph, looks good and should help to keep on track!

Peachypips · 13/11/2018 19:31

Thanks Kings. Do you know what- they weren't worth it! I love boozy Christmas things but they were really odd tasting! Damn it!

I've forgotten- are you doing Exante or just 800?

KingsScorn · 13/11/2018 22:56

I'm 'FG Addict' on there ProseccoMadeMeDoIt

They sounded so good too Peachypips! I guess this is a good thing though.

I'm doing Slim and Save (4 packs, cashew nut milk in coffee, Hartley's sugar free jelly, 200g veg, whatever no calorie soft drinks I want (discovered it doesn't kick me out of ketosis) - I have around 750 Kcal/day.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 14/11/2018 20:50

Stayed the same this week. Dissapointed but had a better loss last week than I deserved so trying to be positive

KingsScorn · 15/11/2018 07:45

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting - that's a good attitude to have. It is frustrating that weight loss lacks uniformity, even when we do everything else the same - especially for women. I find it is often the toughest weeks that yield the lowest results too - the work is all being done under the surface to be revealed a bit later.

It is for this reason that I WI daily (although I still have my official Sunday WI) - it is striking sometimes what a difference a different WI day that week makes, and I can see the inevitable whoosh the day it happens . All evens out though over a month though! Stay strong!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 16/11/2018 14:48

KingsScorn I was hoping for the whoosh this week but unlikely now, I've just mentioned on the other thread that i hit the smarties yesterday 😔

Hope alls going well for you

KingsScorn · 16/11/2018 16:48

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting I hope it doesn't bring you out of ketosis too. You never know - I was utterly amazed that my rices and nearly a whole packet of bread sticks didn't so a couple of weeks back...good luck!

I'm ok, thank you. This week had been easy but getting restless now (thinking ahead/feeling hopeful/feeling overwhelmed - rinse and repeat!). Weight loss at start of week but now starting a, predictable, mid cycle lull (went up 0.4 this morning). Decided to plot my daily losses against cycle day and compare next month - anything to motivate me through it!

KingsScorn · 18/11/2018 07:55

WI day for me...

Start: BMI 36.4
Wk 1: BMI 35.0 (-8.8 lbs)
Wk 2: BMI 34.4 (-3.8 lbs)
Wk 3: BMI 34.0 (-2.2 lbs)
Wk 4: BMI 33.5 (-3.4 lbs)
Wk 5: BMI 33.0 (-2.6 lbs)

Total loss 20.8 lbs (in five weeks)

I think this is going to be my pattern (2-2.5 lbs/3-3.5 lbs on repeat - I never expected to lose the standard 1 stone/month after the initial two weeks) due to hormones. Anyway, just 0.2 lbs away from losing 1.5 st now. My original aim for the VLCD was to stick on it for 6 week/lose 1.5 stone so that's nearly met. Aim has since changed to lose 2st+, and now it is stick to it for 10 weeks (until 23rd Dec)...so I'll soldier on.

I been thinking a lot of about old eating/drinking habits and flipping between being excited about the prospect of being slim and very worried about having to lose this weight again in the future.

Anyway, half-way there. Keep thinking how pleased I will be on the 23rd Dec when I've stuck to this and I'm 10-14 lbs lighter (and ticked off another 5 mini goals!).
