I think dairy might be my problem too hairspray. I did have some Greek yogurt a few times early in the week and a bit of grated cheese on some dinners. I'm still 1/2 a pound up on this time last week! Grrrrr! I feel a bit panicked at the idea of cutting out cheese, it's the one thing that makes the low carb easy for me! Doh!

ArseyTussle · 02/02/2017 09:17

Good to know Queen. I think it's a hangover from the fear of hunger, I've defeated that now (I think) in everyday life, but for some reason I think I'll konk out if I run without having had a banana. Will try it on Saturday.

BeyondCanSeeTheEmperorsBellend · 02/02/2017 09:22

I've cut right down on milk, but still having cheese and (very minimal) yoghurt.

HairsprayBabe · 02/02/2017 09:28

I don't eat meat either so my diet would be even more limited, plus I love a babybel after work!

I did have a lot of cheese on tuesday night so the stickiness could be a hangover from that - Mexican courgette fritters, with baked layered mexican dip and grilled chicory. Was delish!

Last night was much lighter - Thai red curry, veggies and tofu and cauli rice but I still felt stuffed afterwards.

Fried eggs and steamed greens tonight, so no dairy in that.

KikisDeliveryService · 02/02/2017 09:31

Arsey - morning runs always on empty, when I'm feeling particularly hardcore I run the morning after a fast day. They are not great runs in terms of speed but they are fat burning!

KikisDeliveryService · 02/02/2017 09:32

Also, the breakfast after a morning run on empty is glorious.

Tweetypie30 · 02/02/2017 09:36

Can I join in?

I started the new year with loads of enthusiasm and was determined that this year I will loose the weight. Well I've lost a grand total of 1/2 lb!!!

I really need some help and motivation and you all seem to have had some amazing results.

I'm a size 16, 13stone, I would love to loose 7lbs this month. I don't think it would make any difference to how I look but it would be great to fit into my clothes a bit better. I refuse to buy a bigger size. I must loose this baby weight.

KikisDeliveryService · 02/02/2017 09:38

Hi Tweety! Yes join us - what's your plan?

Tweetypie30 · 02/02/2017 09:58

I'm following slimming world at home. I've tried it a few times at a group but never lost more than 10lbs. It's not the plan that's the problem, it's my motivation. I'm also an all or nothing kind of person. If I fall off the wagon I think stuff it and start binge eating. I'm sure this is where I do most of my damage.

Oh and lose not loose Blush

TVHubbyClaire · 02/02/2017 10:09

Whenever I run in the morning -which-isnt-as often-as-i-should- its on an empty stomach too although I havent yet done a run whilst trying to keep to my 16:8
On the scales again this morning and I was at 13st O and 1/4......heading slowly in the right direction but worried that Saturday socialising will push me up again and a family weekend away next week.
Wondering if I will ever see that dam 12 looking back up at me when I step on scales Hmm
Will get trainers on and walk again today for half an hour to get the steps up before lunch

lastqueenofscotland · 02/02/2017 10:36

Meal planned for the next week
I'm imagining that tomorrow/Saturday I won't be able to chew much... So will just stockpile chocolate moose...

Then food that gets gradually less mushy over the course of the week... Optimistically assuming I will have no complications... If I can't eat for a week at least I might get helped along!

Sunday: Dahl
Monday: black beans and rice
Tuesday: pasta with olives, feta and cherry tomato
Wednesday: tofu with veg stirfry
Thursday: bean burgers

HairsprayBabe · 02/02/2017 11:49

queen That is a really nice looking menu, shame most of the things on it are on my banned list! Grin

KikisDeliveryService · 02/02/2017 11:50

Stick with us then tweety, we all fall off the wagon but we get back on again! All is not lost if you have the odd day of crap.

HairsprayBabe · 02/02/2017 11:56

Yes Kiki right, we all fall off the wagon, but this thread helps us get back on quickly and doesn't let one day's error lead to total self sabotage!

My poison is pizza I can literally eat it until I am sick and I can't say no to it unlike a lot of other "treats".

I used to be able to eat a large stuffed crust dominos in one go, happily Blush I could probably still attempt it but I want to move away from that part of my life! Now I have a medium, with the thin base, and low fat cheese. Not ideal, but a lot better than before!

PlumFairy2014 · 02/02/2017 12:00

What time do you ladies run? I love the idea of a morning run, but my toddler is an awful sleeper and it's always 6am starts. Could get DH to have DD while he gets ready for work and squeeze in a half hour?

QuimReaper · 02/02/2017 12:00

SO

I wrote a mega-sized post yesterday welcome newbies and wishing pony's wee one well and chivvying Chilver to weigh in after she starts to see results and dispensing nuggets of golden advice to sausage about reducing calories and lots more and IT ALL GOT ET BY MUMSNET Angry Angry Angry

But you get the idea Grin

Hello ladies. Don't you hate that smug beeatch down the front in gym class? The one who adds in extra moves because BodyDeath just isn't hard enough for her?

That was me six years ago. Gym bitch. Well the mighty have fallen (and become mightier, in a bad way) as I found out two nights ago. Basically I now can't move or lift anything. So, a plan is in place. New leggings purchased. I will regain my former (size 14, medically overweight) glory!

Fuck you size 16. Not in this lifetime, pal.

Oh and what is this 16:8 business? I couldn't get along with 5:2 but if 16:8 gets results I might try? Stone and a half to lose.

MorrisZapp · 02/02/2017 12:06

I run at the weekend, and in summer I do one run on a weekday evening too.

HairsprayBabe · 02/02/2017 12:11

Welcome Morris 16:8 is fasting for 16 hours of the day and eating within an 8 hr window.

That could be 12noon to 8pm or 8am - 4pm you get the idea.

I do it unintentionally because I have always hated breakfast and finish dinner about half 6.

Quim that is bugger! I love your speeches, they are very motivational!
Plus you are correct this is "The Best Thread On Mumsnet!" we should look into getting that trademarked.

lastqueenofscotland · 02/02/2017 12:27

Hairspray it's all stuff that won't take too much chewing!

Plum, I run first thing, so in the week that's around 7. Weekends it's more like 8.30.

I'm doing a Couch to 10k programme, and am loving it, currently up to about 8k of a mix of runs and short walking stints. Once I've got my topiary under control I'm going to try and do more swimming. I really don't enjoy it but I feel I should do something that's for the whole body and also isn't high impact (I have 53 lb to lose!).

Morris, I'm a bit of a bore about convert to the 16:8, I feel it's working really well for me.

Yes new folk, stick with us, we're a merry band of losers (in the nicest possible way). Some of us have a long way to go, so you'll have company for a while. Smile

HairsprayBabe · 02/02/2017 13:15

I wish I had splashed out on more expensive scales that clock the 1/4 lb... I think as my losses slow down it would keep me motivated

AugustRose · 02/02/2017 13:44

Hello again

So I weighed myself this morning and I am 10st 7lbs Sad which means I have put on 8.5lbs of the 16 I lost. Time to really get back into it now, started with kickboxing this morning and last night I managed not to eat anything all evening. That is my downfall, eating while watching a film after the DC are in bed.

I am only 5ft 2.5in (that half is really important) so ideally I want to be 9st 7lb but as I haven't been that weight since I was about 17 and I'm almost 43 it might be a push.

How does anyone deal with the carb cravings, I can remove so much from my diet and then I REALLY NEED TOAST Grin
