Goodish day here - I walked for hours and hours this morning and broke the 20,000 steps barrier for the first time ever! I'm on course for my best calorie burn of the year, and on a fast day too Grin

Let's ignore the fact that my fast day went a bit pasta-and-pesto-shaped when I started making a pasta salad for DH

koko and pebbles Flowers Sorry to hear you're both struggling. koko it sounds like you're just not In The Zone: it's been my experience that I can only really occupy The Zone when I grudgingly force myself to be good for a bit, and then when I see results (on the scale or off it) I get this big burst of motivation and the whole thing just becomes so much easier. Forcing it for a few days is the hardest bit, and to be honest I haven't felt completely On The Wagon for a few weeks - my weigh-ins have either been disappointing or scuppered, I've managed a couple of fast days a week but my exercise has dropped off, etc. You just need a run of Really Good Days and then a glorious scale victory moment, and you'll get your head in it.

BOOP it sounds like you've had a huge inch drop! I remember when I first started losing weight, I slipped down under some kind of weird threshold and everyone suddenly started commenting on it, it was so odd as I was only a f hundred grams lighter than I had been last time I saw people - I think I must have had a similar thing, only a kilo or so on the scale but an inch off the waist or something! I was reading something a while ago about how that can happen, it's something to do with fat cells "emptying" or something.

Argh lost my post! Anyway short story, koko I have asd Dc and only eating beige carbs aka garlic bread every day since Christmas. It's so hard to avoid eating that every night.

Shittest day at work to date. Pupils on some kind of rebellion. Don't blame them when I come home and watch the news.

Am in bed avoiding wine crisps.

So 2.5 kg is 5.5lb? That is really good Niki especially considering you don't have that much to lose! When I have previously started exercising loads in the first couple of weeks I've often seen maintains etc. I think your body holds more water for repairing the muscles (I can't remember the exact thing) but a few weeks later it often drops quickly. What are you doing food wise?

FreeNiki · 21/02/2017 18:37

I only found this forum at end of jan.

But been dieting since beginning of jan. I lost 2.5kg.

I want to lose about a stone.

Oh KOKO I'll give you a kick up the bum if you like but it sounds to me like you need a squeeze more (the rules about hugs on MN don't count on this thread do they?)

Do you think you can just stop now. Don't just write today off and keep eating. Draw a line now and show yourself that you can. Because you know you can. We know you can and we are right behind you Flowers

And to you pebbles I think an early night is in order young lady

Right back on it after social events. Just made lentil soup and enough for work lunches.

I'm due on and I just feel yucky and low. Feel bloated even in my face.

Bugger on the tyre BOOP. I was on the M1 today. Good on the trousers.

Niki 4lb would put me in a much happier place.

It's right about mums. Mines a nightmare but I always need her and automatically turn to her.

So tired was away with work and feel drained.

That's fantastic about the trousers BOOP! Not so great about the tyre mind but we'll focus on the NSV. Wink

Niki I have only lost about 10lbs in the last six months. You don't have much to lose if I remember, that does makes it much slower and more difficult I am afraid. You do seem to be doing a whole lot of exercise, are you eating enough after a workout to allow your muscles to repair? If you had to bow out of a class because you suddenly found it was unmanageable it sounds like a sign that you are overdoing it.

Hairspray I have been lurking on the hourglass thread in S&B, bought a pinafore at the weekend based on your recommendation (from Sainsbo's, not Oliver Bonas unfortunately!) - would never have considered it before but I really like it on!

Quim I've just tried the trousers on agsinvto show DP and it looks like one of those photos where you can get two people on the trousers! I swear I was wearing them, albeit they looked a bit loose, in January

Niki when I say too much exercise I meant that you'll burn yourself out. You've been doing such a lot. Keep going on your campaign though. You will get there.

Niki do you mean 4lbs since the end of Jan? You joined us towards the end of the month didn't you?

Truly-honestly-seriously 4lbs is a great loss. I can see how it might feel slow and like you deserve more, but that's a really great result after a really short period of time and if you plug away at it you'll be nearing half a stone by the end of the month, and think where you'll be by Easter!

Fab NSV to you too BOOP! I didn't know quite how to feel when I put on a dress which had been a terrific eBay find, and discovered that I'd gone from a shade too fat for it to a shade too thin and it had to go right back on eBay Grin Overall I was pretty chuffed!

I have half a Linda actual weight loss! I'm on track for maybe 1.5 Lindas in Feb, lol. I feel mentally closer to 10-and-a-half rather than nearly-11 stone at least. Playing the long game...

NSV: I did feel much slimmer in my yoga class today though and my hip bones are making a little bit more on an appearance.

I can only dream of a 4lb loss niki - maybe by April.

Good work on the trousers/jeans NSVs boop & quim and nearly belt notch down tv!

Niki I think too much exercise would be going everyday until you are exhausted and injuring yourself.

You have to give your body chance to recover that is why most programs recommend 2 rest days out of 7. It doesn't mean you can't do anything on those days, something gentle like swimming would be fine.

If you push yourself too hard then you will injure yourself and then you won't be able to exercise at all.

Ah bummer BOOP nice about the trousers though!

TVHubbyClaire · 21/02/2017 10:43

BOOP - the good outweighs the bad...

I weighed in today and although no losses I am not carrying any extra Lindas around with me either.Smile
Still 12st 13 1/2 which is about as good as I can hope for because of weekend away and general lack of exercise.

I definitely want to get back on track next week, not sure I will lose 7 Lindas by end of March so am thinking anything below 12st 10 would be good.

It feels like a blooming long haul but I know I am close to tightening belt by a hole very soon, if I can achieve that and wear tightened belt for a full day at work it will feel like a big NSV

Report
FreeNiki · 21/02/2017 10:43

How can you do too much exercise?

Good day; outfit rethink because trousers so big that they were falling down

Bad day: 2 hours by the side of the M1 after my tyre blew

Superb hairspray!

This is all good. I'm feeling another golden day here. Im going to an exercise class tonight so that will stop the eating. And I got an assignment finished last night so I feel like there's a weight been lifted.

Shots are in dried fruit aisle. Not to be confused with shots in alcohol aisle Wink

Morning all, 11.10 today so all the damage from the weekend is gone, still back at square one for the month but it is better than a gain and we still have a week to go!

I might give up the booze for lent, though I have two weddings to go to so not sure if it is feasible. It is so tough being such a social butterfly...

Also a lovely NSV from my trip this weekend, best mate said my jeans were hanging off me, she was not wrong, other friend demanded I try on her size 12's... they fit! Very snugly mind you... but they fit! Shock
Jeans NSV's are the best, jeans don't lie Quim!

Confused I thought you were all talking about a drink! Haha

I'm so down this week not sure why possibly as AF is two weeks early quite odd cause that never happens. I just can't get my head in the game, snacking on everything.

Park run does sound good, my sister has started doing it in Australia and is loving it. I should look if there are any around me.

Well done on fitting in the old shorts that is always such a great feeling.
