2 weeks in - have lost 13 lbs. Feeling pretty good! By the end of next week, I should weigh the least I have in 2 years.
I thought I'd record my thoughts on some sachets:
All sachets - mix with cold water, and I always blend with a mini whisk. Any other way, I find it hard to get the powder fully combined.
Restricted = you can only have one 'restricted' sachet each day
Hot Chocolate - really nice
Orange / Orange and Pineapple / Orange and Grapefruit: all fine, like squash, perfect for taking on the road
Strawberry Milkshake – tastes like Yazoo. Fine if you like that. Has a small amount of annoying little strawberry seeds – I like smooooooth.
Chocolate pudding (restricted) - Great texture - delicious with some strawberries from your 200g allowance. Even the kids like this one.
Chocolate and Pear pudding – didn’t like it. Wouldn’t bother with it compared with the chocolate pudding. Made a chocolate pancake with it – which was ok with some stevia.
Chicken nuggets - surprisingly nice, vegeburger-like texture. I use 40ml water and add some spices and spring onion. Then fry as a burger. My savoury favourite.
Pizza - This is my bread craving meal. I make a circle (kid's pizza size) on greaseproof paper and bake for 11 mins, leave a few minutes, then flip over. The tomato topping is nice (like Dolmio), than I cover with a thick layer of mushrooms and some spring onions. You could use any veg from the list but this uses no restricted veg.
Goat's cheese - used this for some baked mushrooms - was great. It’s not very cheesy though – quite a subtle flavour. I find this is better cooked and made with less water than directed (around 50ml water). I tried some of top of pizza too (shared across two meals), made a nice tomato-cheese sauce.
Pasta (restricted) – I’m in two minds about this one. I love pasta and this doesn’t have a pasta texture. But it feels bullky made up with a vegetable sauce. Sauce is like the tomato soup so I don’t use it. Going to keep trying for the rest of the box – happy to hear any recipe ideas.
Cheese soufflé – puffs up really well in the oven. Has a nice cheesy taste and soufflé like texture. Goes well with veg / salad.
Potato Pie (restricted) – Jury’s out on this one too. Have tried as potato cakes. It’s ok. Maybe needs less water? Any tips welcome.
Chicken Curry soup - nice if really well blended. Don't overheat.
Beef and onion soup - also nice if well blended. I would prefer it without the little bit of onion but hey ho!
Apple and Hazelnut Oatmeal (restricted) – Have struggled with this. Should be nice but don’t enjoy eating it. Tried making biscuits but they didn’t work.
Lemon Flan – Smells lovely but I didn’t like the texture. Probably a personal thing.
Tomato soup - hated it - really powdery texture. Strongly recommend trying from the swap box before you invest in a box.
Mushroom soup - flavour was ok but I didn't like the little mushroom bits - tried from swap box so didn't mind.
