Alevere / Alizonne

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

How did everyone survive Easter? I had a small bite of cookie. Definitely not worth it!

Welcome singy - I'm in the 100 club too. 100 lbs to lose! I found some recipes on Alizonne threads but haven't tried anything much.I have found any tips on the best way to prepare the sachets most useful, like making the chicken nuggets into a burger instead (60ml water only). Will definitely share some of my serving suggestions. Am trying omelettes next week so will give your suggestion a try.

Welcome Beck813 - I have talked about sachets on an earlier post but chicken nuggets, pizza and chocolate pudding are my favourite sachets.

Hi All

Great to finally find someone else in the Alevere program. I'm just at end of my first 3 weeks and considering giving up... It's soooo hard! I lost 12 pound in first 10 days but have been ill and finding it tough. How's everyone else finding it?

Cheers
X

Really great to read everybody's comments - good and bad - and support for each other - dm2ooo, you are a great help to all, thank you from everybody. Got my date for blood test and Dr's appointment but thought I read somewhere (have done a lot of research so can't remember where) that you were tied in for 13 weeks once you had signed up. Can anybody confirm please or can you opt out at anytime. Thanks x

Hi guys
I have been on this for 7 weeks now and results have been good. I have had hunger pangs but go myself into a routine. all was good until this weekend. Few social gatherings, cravings and birthday parties meant I ended up have meals in the evenings. It is hard and not easy when in social gatherings of more than a couple of hours. Not a lot I can do about it except pic myself up and move on.very expensive weekend in deed. You do see results and I can finally see the shape and weightloss. up until this weekend I did restrict my social gatherings to an hour or two and it worked. sachet wise I have totally gone of the the omelettes now but I do tend to have a lot of stirfry in the evening with rhubard and vanilla dessert or chocolate and rapsberries. Good thing about changing to Alevere is the introduction of fruit which helps a lot especially as the sun is shining and good to have that taste.
Great to see more on the Alevere

I MISS CAKE!

Coming into the end of 3rd week and I'm having a tough day. Not hungry but really want a treat. I should have had strawberries and chocolate pudding for dinner.

njtp1 - well done on 6 weeks - 1 lb is still in the right direction! Have fun at Disney.

Hi Muffin - Welcome to the thread. I feel ya! I'm happy with my weight loss and I'm glad I'm not cheating. I have started making a list of foods I am going to eat when I reach goal weight. It seems to help! I added chips and curry sauce last night!

Mybfw1 - good luck with your appointment. I don't think I am tied into anything. I don't remember seeing another in the agreement. They do say they'll take you off the plan if you don't have the regular treatments etc.

Mystery - well done on 7 weeks. One weekend is not the end of the world. How long have you got to go?

Weigh in tomorrow - fingers are crossed! Off to have a mint tea.

Thanks dm2ooo, cant see anything either about being tied into a 'minimum length on the programme' in my agreement just thought I'd remembered seeing it somewhere.

Good luck for your weight in tomorrow (hope you enjoyed your mint tea) let us know how you get on

Back from weigh in - lost about 3 lbs in the 3rd week (I made it just over 3, and the clinic made it just under).

Happy enough but was hoping to hit 4.

Well done dm2ooo, 3 is good going, im hoping for 3 per week as a minimum, first weigh in on Friday, I don't feel like I've lost anything since starting on Sunday, I'm always full as I've gone from eating twice a day to 5 times. Where as on my own diet (Low carb) I felt I was losing, probably because I was generally hungry.

I've resisted the urge to get on the scales so far, so excited to see on Friday.

I think I've slightly exceeded the 200g of limited items today, difficult to work out exact with shop bought salads and fruit while I'm working away.

Hotel restaurants are also a no hot for me, getting them to make a salad without dressing, cheese, meats, etc is nigh on impossible.

Hi all
Today is the first day of week three! This is the hardest thing I have ever done ;( Went to Devon for the weekend and did not put one morsel of anything disallowed into my mouth so I am proud of myself.
Just found this thread and would love to speak to others about this journey as it is so tough on my own!
Is anyone struggling eating the veg and salad? This seems to be my hardest part of the diet! I dread lunch and dinner as I have to actually eat and I am really forcing the veg and salad into my mouth now! Anyone got any tips on how to make these more appealing?? I see some people have swede but its not on my list of allowed veg?
Sick of omelettes and hate the potato pie, no matter how I cook it ;( absolutely will not give up but could really do with some friendly advice.

Hi sassyblonde42,
So far i have been trying to change/enhance the flavors of all veg i am eating, so i tend to stir fry, using the daily olive oil, but i have also started to flavor the oil, chili oil, garlic oil, rosemary etc, it brings an additional flavor to the food.

You can flavor the oils either by bashing the oil along with the rosemary in a pestle and mortar or garlic powder stirred in, same for any herbs etc.

You could also make a dressing for the salads using oil, mustard, herbs etc. Or using the tablespoon of natural no fat yoghurt mixed with anything you like.

Roasting cauliflower is another one which gives a completely different texture to an otherwise bland vegetable.

Thinly slicing aubergines with a drizzle of oil then either grilled or griddled, I would love to use balsamic, but its the only vinegar which is not allowed, so if anyone knows of an alternative i would love to know.

Swede is on my list of limited veg, i will upload a picture of the alevere book showing all foods, left being unlimited and right limited - aubergine is not on but i asked about it and it is unlimited.

Regards
Andy

Wow Andy you have it easy! I am not entirely sure why but your list is completely different to mine! Mushrooms are limited (and they are my favourite) im not allowed carrots, any fruit, chilli, onions...the list is VERY short as to what I am allowed. I am wondering if yours is the Alvere as opposed the Allizone? I would feel like I had gone to heave if I could have a Satsuma ;(
I will take your list with me on Saturday and see what they say.
Going to try to roast the cauliflower and add more spices to the veg. Thank you for replying ;) what week are you on?

Hi All! Hope you're all well :) I have lost 9 pounds in the first week - from experience, is this a good amount of weight loss? Any help would be much appreciated :)

Hi Beck813,
i tend to ignore the first week of any diet, as the first week will be boosted by the loss of excess water. That said 9 is still good.

This was my first week of Alevere and i lost 5.7lb, i am very pleased with this as i have been dieting without Alevere for 2 months so already had the water drop.

Picked up some of the Strawberry milkshake pouches yesterday and i love them, i think this will be my go to drink for the foreseeable future.

Hi everyone

A couple of recipes I have loved this week:
truvia.com/recipes/cooked-rhubarb-sauce
www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/vegetables-recipes/roasted-cauliflower-with-cumin-coriander-and-almonds/#7lrVEqG3ie3yJxQz.97
(without the butter and almonds)

Mushrooms are my lifesaver though - Sassy, I would definitely ask to move to the Alevere list. I try not to have the meals I like every day so I don't get bored of them.

Beck - well done on the 1st week. Like singy says, I think you can lose 7 lbs in the first week of any strict diet and you'll put back on some of that weight at the end of the diet when you go back to more normal eating. It's a great start though and the numbers make the first month a lot more rewarding.

Pretty slow week for me. No problems with diet but need to start doing more exercise. I have done loads of spring cleaning though. Think I'll go for a swim tomorrow.

How is everyone else getting on?

Hi all, I am starting Alevere tomorrow!
I've done the Cambridge before and didn't mind the taste of some of the shakes but I do worry I won't like the sachets with Alevere. Plus the idea of the potassium and the other one I have to drink after it dissolves worries me too as I don't cope with bad tasting stuff very well and will gag on it!!!
They tell me I have to have it though? Has anyone found a tablet form for the liquid supplements?

Report
dm2ooo · 12/04/2015 20:49

Hi Lisa - good luck with starting Alevere.

I hate the potassium - I dissolve it in a very small amount of water so it's only one mouthful. It's almost sweet but has a weird taste. With one mouthful, it's doable! Hmm

Good day for me - took a salad and a chicken burger to my brother's for Sunday lunch. And then went for a swim. Feel virtuous.

Hi dm2ooo,
Thanks!!! I'm absolutely dreading taking them all!
I'll give them a go tomorrow but might do some searching to try and find the same online that will come in a capsule just incase!!

Sounds like you're doing well!!!
I've got a meeting with a Personal Trainer tomorrow and I hope to have 5 sessions a week with him to kickstart it all off!!!

Hi All,
I've been working away all week so lived on drinks and supermarket salads, its so difficult to get a suitable dish in a restaurant without added sauces/dressings and other ingredients which aren't allowed. However I have stuck with it this week and feel like i have lost big.

I couldn't resist jumping on the scales when i arrived home this evening and already got past 3Kg from last weeks weigh in (6.6lb) so im really happy with that.

Here are a couple of pics of the meals i made last weekend and tonight.

Tomato and Pepper Pizza
Chicken Nuggets (More like a burger)
Tomato and Courgette Scramble (omelette)

Hey Singy - fantastic result, well done! out of interest - are you exercising too?

Lisa - how is it going? how was the PT? I joined a gym on a trial period this week. I can't do much because of a back condition but I'm going to try and swim a few times a week.

No official weigh in this week because of a problem at my clinic but according to my scales I hit my 1.7kg target (3.75 lbs). I'm happy - just under 1.5 stones in first 4 weeks. Pleased with the sustained loss so far. Sat with the family tonight as they ate the steak and mash I'd prepared - was happy not to eat. As long as I'm losing, I find it easier to resist temptation. Smile

Hi dm2ooo

No not doing any exercise, i did discuss this with the Alevere doctor, but he suggested as i was not already exercising, it would mean i had to carry this on, once i get to the target weight, so decided against it.

That said, i was more active that usual this week - weekend i did a family members garden top to bottom which turned into a 10 hour heavy labor shift and walked more than usual between hotels, train stations, london tube etc, so probably did about an hours walking each day sunday-wednesday. back to normal now im back up north. (car/couch)

I am back to the weight i was 4 years ago, still a long way to go but the sustained loss is a huge motivator.

37LB (17KG) down from starting weight, or which 12LB is since starting Alevere 2 weeks ago.

HI Dm2000
thanks for the message, whilst I put on 1lb after the weekend of eating I actually had my biggest loss to date this week of 5lbs!
week 11 and have lost nearly 3 stone. 10lbs to go before i go to phase 2 hopefully 4/5 weeks time fingers crossed.
I haven't exercised , just walking the dog was advised against exercise by the clinic.
weightloss has been around 1.2/1.7 kg a week

Ooooo - now I'm really confused. I was specifically told to try and exercise 3x a week and people doing exercise lose more on the plan. Will check next time I see the doctor.

Great results mystery and singy. 3 stone in 12 weeks would be fantastic and I can't believe that I'm on track for that too! :)))
