Firstly, apologies if this thread is already on here, but I couldn't find it. Last time I did the Cambridge diet I found lots of help and support on Mumsnet and was hoping there would be a thread in place to help me this time ..........

Day one today, had a chocolate shake with lots of ice, a pint of water and am currently drinking a cup of hot water.

Yesterday I was weighed at my consultants house and I was 14 stones 7 and a half pounds. Going on holiday on the 26th September and would love 2 stones off by then. Last year I did this diet for my sisters wedding and lost 28 pounds in as many days. Was very pleased, unfortunatly I am a greedy PIG and cannot control my eating. Am doing to do ss for a month then a week at a time until my hol,as much as I can. Then will follow slimming world principles during and after my holiday, just need this kick start to get me going!

If anyone would like to join me on this thread we can help each other, last year the help I got on here was invaluable!

lollyheart · 13/09/2010 19:35

Can i join too?

I see my cdc tomorrow so will start on wed.

What shakes/soups do you all prefer?

The reaults from you all are amazing, well done Smile

TrollyDolly1 · 16/09/2010 14:16

Course you can lollyheart. Personally I don't really like any off the "food" but I do it as cd works. You can get great results, or you can keep falling off the wagon like me. Blush Good luck

How are you all doing?

I'm on day 2, have just had my last soup and i'm starvvvving, when does the hunger pass?

I really like the soups, i might swap the shakes for soups.

lurkingsnurker · 17/09/2010 11:09

Helloooooo ladies - i'm back! You have all done soooo well - sorry to see you go though 3ismylot Sad.

I've been on hols for 2 weeks (but off the diet for three - long story!), and managed to put on a mighty 7lbs (but had a great time Wink). I originally lost 15.5lbs in three weeks, which I was over the moon with!

So on day 2, it's pretty tough going, but I know it works, so will stick with it.

Lolly.. hunger will probably pass by about day 4/5, but I found the psychological wrench from food a massive struggle (but that's probably just me as I'm such a greedy pig Grin) - hope you're feeling a little better today. Also, I try and have my shakes as late in the day as possible, as I know that early evening is my real danger time to cave in! The other thing my CDC said is to split the shakes in two, so have half at lunchtime, then half at tea time, then you still have something to have mid evening? that might help?

I'll be back later - will need all the support I can get! I must be a masochist to go through this first bit again - argh!!

lollyheart · 19/09/2010 13:54

How is everyone?

I'm on day 5 now and doing well, i have'nt cheated yet.

Has anyone made little cake type things with their shakes?

Ive read you can do it.

lurkingsnurker · 19/09/2010 20:01

Hi Lolly... tis very quiet on here isn't it!

Fantastic that you've not cheated yet - have you had any sneaky weighs? I bet you're doing brilliantly Smile

I've joined trolly in falling off the wagon this weekend - a 1st birthday party was just too much to bear yesterday and I went a bit bonkers with all the junk food... hey ho, it's my own fault, and I'll get back on it.

Then today family came for lunch, and as I haven't told them I'm doing this diet (they'll try to talk me out of it), I had some food - but that is all I have eaten today, and I won't have anything else.

Back on it properly tomorrow - scales are still showing an ok loss considering!

How are you all....??

lollyheart · 20/09/2010 10:41

Hi lurkingsnurker

Yes i weighed myself yesterday and tbh i was hoping to lose more then i have, 3lb in 5 days. i am going for a weigh in tonight with my cdc so hopefully her scales will be different. Smile

Ladydutchalot · 20/09/2010 19:52

Lolly, don't worry too much, I lost 1lb in my first week, and then 7 the week after-it is all the liquid you are taking in. Hope you got a better result when you got weighed though (fingers crossed!)

I'm 8lb's down, and have another 2 stone to go, so am nearly 1/3 of the way there Grin. Although decided it was best to have the end of last week off, as it was getting ridiculous with the (now finished for the next few weeks) dinners and lunches, and having to make up excuses for not eating, or eating and then hating myself. So, back on the bandwagon today, I want to eat my own arm, but I keep picturing seeing my hip bones for the first time in 7 years and I've stuck to it. Come on Day 2, I want to get closer to Ketosis again please, I'm famished! Grin

lollyheart · 20/09/2010 21:18

Soooo 5lb off, Im not sure if i'm happy or not, i was hoping for more.

If i was doing another diet where i would be in charge of my own food i would be 5lb moreGrin

Keep up the good work ladies, will we all be slim soonSmile

Oh will i ever stop weeing every 5 mins or will it calm down?

Ladydutchalot · 21/09/2010 21:49

Oh thank GOD day 2 is over, why are the first three days SO VILE? I hate the tired, lightheaded, achy, sweaty feelings! Will be so happy once Ketosis kicks in!

How much have you got to go Lolly? Just remember, there is no WAY you would lost a lb a day any other way, it is amazing! I was gutted when I went through all this for a 1lb loss, but the next week 7lb slipped off with marginal effort compared to week 1, so it does get better Smile

Ladydutchalot · 22/09/2010 12:24

How's everyone doing/feeling? Does anyone else get really dead legs and cold hands? I can't wait to be on real food! Grin

lollyheart · 22/09/2010 14:35

I started at 12lb 1 and aim for 9lb 7.

Ladydutchalot · 22/09/2010 14:42

We're nearly losing the same then, I started at 10st 8lb, and am heading for 8st. It sounds like such a long way away, but next weigh in I should be in the 9st something region!!!! I was 10st exactly two days ago, so fingers crossed!

AnxiousLand · 23/09/2010 11:31

another 5.5 pounds down for me this week
total 74 pounds in 12 weeks on sole source

add to that

22lb down on slimfast prior to cd, ss

96 pounds down

only 10 stones to go

easy peasey

Ladydutchalot · 23/09/2010 17:12

Anxious, that is incredible!!!! You make me feel so optimistic now. You rock! Grin.

What are you doing clothes-wise? Are you buying new ones mid-diet just leaving them to get baggy? I'm (hopefully) going down 3-4 sizes, so don't know what to do at the in between stage.

lollyheart · 24/09/2010 12:35

Wow well done anxiousSmile

I saw your message before it was deleted.

Im not sure what to do clothes wise either, i will prob wait until im down to my target weight other wise i will be forever buying clothes Grin

My dh cant believe how quick the weight is dropping off me and i'm only on day 10 Grin

I went to a childrens party yesterday and i was'nt even tempted buy cake yay Grin

lollyheart · 24/09/2010 12:35

by cake Blush

Ladydutchalot · 28/09/2010 09:40

How is everyone doing? I joined a gym on Friday, and have gone every day. It is a 6.6km cycle each way, and with taking dd to school as well I have been hitting 20 km some days! Needless to say my thighs are burning most of the time!

But, on the other hand, I put myself on normal food to sustain it-big mistake. Am snacking far far far too much, so will have to do 4 shakes a day instead I think. I can't bear to think of the first three days though, so am putting it off and putting it off. I'm so scared that if I don't control what I eat properly I will just go crazy when I can eat normally again, and put it all back on, which is what has happened this week, I just go crazy in the evenings.

Puddingtoast · 29/09/2010 20:06

right, so i'm back from hols! i did really well the first 4 days, then threw in the towel. I only put on 4lbs so i'm pleased with that, considering i ate and drank myself silly! back on the wagon today, yeehaw.
