Anyone else waiting for this? I am, let’s start a thread to see how we all get on. I have two stone to lose. My DH said yesterday that ‘I am a bit plump’. Upset, though it’s true.

Has anyone experienced any eye problems/symptoms?

Pp comment has worried me. :(

Please don't overly worry, it's exceedingly rare but there is a link between Wegovy and eye strokes. It's just not a risk I'm willing to take. I did have eye symptoms like pain in my eyes, no vision changes. From my understanding eye symptoms are related to blood sugar changes. If you are worried, perhaps research it. As I said it's extremely rare, but researching it will enable you to quantify the risk. If I hadn't had all the other unpleasant side effects, I'd maybe be willing to take the risk.

JLR841 · 28/08/2026 09:05

Just took my first tablet! I've been sitting on them all week, anxious to start but I had to take the plunge and give it a go. 😬😂

upped to 4mg yesterday after no side effects on 1.5
Been sick twice today and feel awful... do I risk taking tomorrow?

Earlier in the thread some people who were getting ill reported taking the pill every other day to lessen the side-effects.

FlorenceLyons · 28/08/2026 10:43

End of week 6 for me, and I’ve lost 2lb this week, and a nice round stone in total 🎉 I’m definitely feeling the effects of 4mg more than 1.5mg - I just can’t eat large portions, and get heartburn if I try. I’ve been feeling quite tired and slightly spaced out this week, but I’ve also been really busy, so that might be unrelated. Still feeling pretty positive about the experience so far.

thanks for this.. worth a try

SweetBaklava · 28/08/2026 11:09

I’m eight days in on the 4mg and after the first couple of days definitely had some bigger side effects than the 1.5mg. However seems to have settled now. The appetite suppression has increased, and I’m now at 7.5lb loss overall after five weeks and am delighted.

itwasthegintalking · 28/08/2026 11:23

Day 3 today of 1.5mg, feel so nauseous. Vomited twice this morning 😬. I’ve had the tablets for a few weeks and kept putting off taking them through nerves. Not sure if this will settle down after a few days and I preserve.

loriat · 28/08/2026 11:34

I’m on day 29 of 1mg so going up to 4mg soon. I have lost 9lbs to date, but I think that’s due to willpower rather than the medication, as have had no suppression for the last week. On the positive side have had no side effects either and the shorts I am wearing today feel quite roomy. Hoping to lose another 10 to 14 pounds to be at the higher end of a healthy BMI.

VideoVox · 28/08/2026 13:36

I’m an every other day person, I’ve been doing that for a month. I still get a bit nauseous the morning I take it. I get ok suppression, have lost 5 pounds this month. I’m aiming for 21 pound loss so I think that’s a reasonable start and wasn’t any effort.

really not interested in vomiting or extreme suppression, and I had that with Mounjaro and hated it.

tomorrowchild · 28/08/2026 16:28

I’ve just finished week 2 on 1.5 pill. First week lost 4 pounds few side effects. Didn’t feel hungry much but stil ate 2 small meals a day. This week was on annual leave from work so out of my routine and with time to kill. Was unwell with a summer flu Saturday til tuesday so hardly ate anyway. Since Tuesday evening I’ve been pigging out. Partly as I wanted to boost up my energy after feeling so unwell and partly due to boredom/not being busy. So I’ve put on 2 pounds and feeling crap about it. I’ve ordered 4mg for next month but I’m inclined to think it’s not going to work for me unless I’m actually physically repulsed by food. Feeling “not hungry” or “full” doesn’t help as I will still snack out of boredom or habit (eg while watching tv) and end up binging on bad foods as a pleasure activity! I feel pretty much the same and had same result as if I had just meal planned and limited my calories but I’m having to pay for the pills! Anyone gone up to 4mg and felt a real difference with their attitude to snacking?? I feel like the first week was maybe just a placebo and my willpower alone!

PillPoppin · 28/08/2026 18:15

I'm on day 1 of going up to 4mg. I think I was 7 weeks on 1.5 and have lost a stone. Definitely silenced the food noise more than the lower dose as it's just gone 1pm and I've only just realized that I haven't eaten today yet. I'm only doing a month on the 4 before finishing a final month on 1.5 and then quitting as I'm almost at my goal weight. I am overall so happy with these tablets!

cheeseomelette · 29/08/2026 09:36

Hello, I’m day 2 of the wegovy pill - first time using anything like this. Yesterday I felt a bit queasy, definitely not as hungry as usual and food tasted different.

Today I took the pill at 7am, had my first black coffee at 845, got a pretty instant headache and I was then so sick 30 mins later. 😩
does this get better? I feel like I’m pregnant (I’m definitely not)

If this is it on the starting dose, I think I’m going to struggle. Now sipping a mint tea and we’ll see what today brings.

I have found a real change with 4. I don't think about food unless I'm really hungry, which is always meal times then have a smallish meal and don't consider having seconds. Admittedly I still like food. My kid made biscuits and gave me one and I enjoyed it. I wasn't put off it. But I was eating it because he asked me to rather than wanting it. In the old days I would have eaten loads. I've been on summer holidays (teacher) while doing this and would usually be snacking all day and have put weight on but not this time.

I'm moving up to 9mg next time because, I guess, I'm just a bit impatient and want the weight off quickly so I can stop pills and so stop paying! Not sure if that's the right thing to do but will see how it goes. I am also really interested in the every other day thing. That seems a great idea if it still works (especially as would save money!)

I suggest very strongly that once you've got to goal you step back down through the doses before stopping because otherwise your appetite will rebound & it may be hard to maintain. I met a lady who was on the max dose of injectable Mounjaro via the NHS & when she got to goal the GP just pulled the prescription. She was having a horrible time with rebound hunger & blaming herself for overeating, & it really wasn't her fault. Every other day is a great idea both for stepping down & maintenance, & as you say, a nice money saver too.

@cheeseomelettehi! I’m on day 1, and same as you first time user. Feeling pretty queasy, too! Hope it’s worth it, and hope you feel better soon.

itwasthegintalking · 29/08/2026 11:51

@cheeseomelette should be on day 4 today and I’ve skipped today’s dose as I was feeling so ill yesterday. I’ll try again tomorrow. Thinking of doing every other day maybe for a week and see how I go maybe. Really want this to work but thinking some people are more sensitive to side effects than others. Can’t imagine taking the highest dose if 1.5mg is hard going 🤣

cheeseomelette · 29/08/2026 12:32

@itwasthegintalking I totally agree! I was thinking that every other day might be an idea.

I can’t go into work like this so deliberately started it for this weekend to check on side effects. I really hope they wear off a bit or I’m out ☹️

Hope you feel better today. I managed a quick trip to the shop but feel shattered now I’m back.

Webb27 · 29/08/2026 16:01

I started the 1.5mg in July and lost 8lbs in two weeks but then started to feel very nauseous and tired. I was going on holiday to Greece so decided to have a break for a month. The appetite suppression lasted about a week after I stopped. Planning to start again on Tuesday but I am a bit worried about the nausea. I wondered whether it was because once I took the tablet in the morning at around 6am I didn’t eat until lunchtime. After years of fasting it had become a habit. Anyone found that eating earlier helped.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 29/08/2026 16:52

I never thought I would say this but I have just ordered the wegovy tablet. I still need to have a video call which is booked for tomorrow. I am bmi 25, so potentially they could reject me? Will they want me to weigh in the call? There is still a likelihood I might not actually take them once they arrive, I’m worried about the nausea and feeling weird on them. But I told myself after the summer if I hadn’t successfully lost anything I would do my research and consider it, and here we are.

Why are you ordering if your BMI is 25? I think it's likely to get refused as it's only for BMI 27-29 if you have a weight related health concern and 30+ BMI without.

I was prescribed at 26 BMI.

SilenceInside · 29/08/2026 19:02

MedExpress and Voy will prescribe weight loss medication off licence to people with a BMI of 25+ without any weight related health condition or needing to be a specific ethnicity. From what I've read on this forum, MedExpress are a bit more cautious than Voy. I guess if you can show that maybe your waist/height ratio is in the danger zone, or you have some other indicator that losing weight would benefit your health then they may prescribe.
