Anyone else waiting for this? I am, let’s start a thread to see how we all get on. I have two stone to lose. My DH said yesterday that ‘I am a bit plump’. Upset, though it’s true.

I'm starting 4mg tomorrow. Still have around 15 days of 1.5 left, but suppression has almost gone. I'm slightly worried, as I initially had some pretty horrible side effects on the lower dose, so not sure what to expect tomorrow.

My suppression has totally disappeared too, so I’m starting the 4mg next week (just waiting for it to arrive).
I didn’t get any side effects in the 1.5, apart from a bit of tiredness and a dry mouth, but am worried about getting more effects with a higher dose.

LondonCheesecake · 19/08/2026 23:10

I wanted to start 4mg early as I was no longer getting suppression with 1.5. The clinician said to wait as 1.5 is to get you used to it before you move onto a bigger dose. They also said you're unlikely to see any results on 1.5

I had my first 4mg today. No idea if it's placebo or higher dose but I had a much better day than I've had in ages

How long were you on the 1.5 before you moved up?

I did a month - also had 4 days gap between the 1.5 and 4 as I was away, it was fine.

here are my stats! Interesting that some weeks have had no movement and others more. I seem to lose in 2 week cycles, I’ll be tracking to see if that continues!

Start
74.0 kg

Week 1
71.2 kg
−2.8 kg ( think a lot of water weight here)
Week 2
70.4 kg
−0.8 kg
Week 3
70.9 kg
+0.4 kg (was gutted to put on haha)
Week 4
69.6 kg
−1.3 kg
Week 5 (finished first month of pills and missed 4 days before starting 4mg)
70.0 kg
+0.4 kg
Week 6 (first full week on 4mg)
68.6 kg
−1.4 kg so far

Overall 5.6kg lost or 11.9lbs 🥳

Poppycorn123 · 20/08/2026 01:28

Day 7 of 4mg and I've woken with bad heartburn and vomited
Have my period too so stomach cramps
Everything at once 😞

Yes, all the information I’ve read says that the 1.5mg is to get your body used to the Semaglutide. So any weight loss in the first month could be minimal.

So I wasn’t expecting a huge loss initially on the 1.5mg. Although I’ve still managed to lose 7lbs, so more than I was expecting.

My 4mg has arrived, so I’ll start that next week once I’ve finished the 1.5mg. Hoping that side effects don’t kick in as I haven’t had any major ones on the 1.5 🤞🏼

LondonCheesecake · 20/08/2026 07:37

I completed a month on 1.5 before moving up. In that month I lost 5.5lb then put 2.5lb on, so lost 3lb in total. I was frustrated with this but actually, objectively, 3lb off in a month is slow and steady and it was zero effort to get it off. I just need to know it's going to keep going down and I have a lot to lose so this is going to take ages!

snoopydoopydo · 20/08/2026 08:14

@Namechangewegovyjune26 that's great progress, well done! I had my first 4mg at 5.20 this morning, so far I'm a little hiccupy, so just hoping I don't get the nausea, dry mouth etc when I started the 1.5!

Lilylovetulips · 20/08/2026 13:10

I'm on day 10 and have lost 4lbs. Pleased with that and excited to see how more I can lose as I progress.

I've started having spots on my chin and forehead 🙃 they only started after taking Wegovy. My skincare hasn't changed but I am eating better. Am hoping it will clear with time. I've been acne free for 2 years after taking isotretinoin for a year so I'll be gutted if my acne comes back!

VanillaSunsetVibes · 20/08/2026 21:11

I have had 2nd thoughts regarding the pill. I was having no suppression and I was too worried it wouldn't work to justify continuing and paying nearly £200 for the next dose.

Sat down with my partner and he was very supportive and said rather than spending money on something that may not/isnt working u may as well go for the main one. Ordered mounjaro and have it in the fridge waiting to go just waiting to be cleared from the wegovy pill for 7 days before I can inject.

Hoping I've made the right decision 🙏🏻 apparently you get stronger and quicker suppression which i think is what i need help with most.

Is anyone else in the same boat?

What dose were you on with wegovy pill and what dose will you start mj on, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm 5 days on 4mg of pill and I honestly don't feel the suppression I had with first month on 1.5mg.

Like you, I'm wondering if I can justify the cost of next dose. I'm undecided what to do.

I only did a few days of 1.5mg wegovy pill. I had zero appetite suppression and no changes etc i looked and my next lot of pills would have been £179 or I could pay £150 for mounjaro 2.5mg.

I know so many people who have taken mounjaro and its been amazing for them whereas the pill is so new and I think judging by some on here it can be quite hit or miss. Financially I didnt want to waste money and my time when I could go for the tried and tested method I guess.

Going to inject tomorrow and see what happens! Maybe can compare results with everyone.

My SW is 11st 12
GW is 9st 7

digitalkiosk · 21/08/2026 06:18

That’s me been one month on the 1.5 tablet. I am sticking with the same dose for September. Suppression remains quite strong for me most days plus I don’t think I am eating enough. I think the 4mg will reduce my calorie intake too much, plus my energy levels are quite low.

Starting weight 11 stone 4
Current weight 10 stone 7

Aiming for 10 stone but considering stopping in October or going every other day due to lack of energy and not having a great appetite.

Ah good luck! I had a bit of acid reflux the first day but it’s settled. I’ve felt sick occasionally but it’s usually 1-2 seconds and passes.

Femaleone · 21/08/2026 09:19

Thank you for replying @VanillaSunsetVibes .

I'll see how I go this week and then decide.

Tbh I'm happy with 15lbs loss in 6 weeks, the bulk of which came off pretty rapid, like first 2/3 weeks. Overall 2.5lbs a week if I look at it that way.

I probably should think on about how when I started I told myself slow and steady would make me more than happy.

Maybe I'm just being greedy for miracles 😆

Wishing you well with your progress x

Day of on 4mg and so far, so good. Can't believe the difference in suppression. Slight nause, but like you, very brief and then it passes.

Hi, i am day 9 today of 1.5 and thought i would update following 2nd weigh in have gone from 11st 2 to 10 st 9 which i am pleased about espdcially as took last weekend off as it was birthday so ate and drank as normal. No side effects but supression feels more about will power at the moment, looking forward to moving to 4 on the 7th Sept.

Good to hear how others are doing

beconsistent23 · 21/08/2026 13:49

Day 1 4mg after a month of 1.5. Lost 6lbs mostly in first 2 weeks and then had a couple of challenging weeks personally- overall pleased and ready to step up progress 🙏

maximc · 21/08/2026 18:36

My suppression on 1.5 wears off in the evening so tonight I'm eating freely. Start 4mg tomorrow.

Fishhooksandjellybabies · Yesterday 07:49

End of week 2 on 4mgs and I'm really disappointed to report that I have gained a pound after losing five and a half pounds last week. I have zero suppression again so my success with 4mgs seems to have only lasted a week. Looks like I will need to go up to 9mgs in two weeks time. I'm having to think hard about this as I am with Voy and the cost for 9mgs is an eyewatering £199! After last week I was hoping to stay on 4mgs indefinitely but it seems not. Thing is, I don't think I've done anything differently food wise so don't understand the gain at all. I'm far too old for the usual hormonal/ menstrual variations and thankfully not constipated so can't work it out.

FlorenceLyons · Yesterday 08:33

End of week 5 for me, and a few days into 4mg. Feeling good about things. I lost 1lb this week, despite being on holiday and not worrying too much about what I ate. I’m definitely feeling more suppression on 4mg - I can still eat anything, but in much smaller quantities, and I’m actively choosing healthier food and not snacking much at all. Suits me perfectly if it stays that way.

I’m now 12lb down, which I’m delighted about. I’ve got a fair way to go (nearly two and a half stone) to get into the healthy BMI category, but that would be slimmer than I’ve been since I was a teenager, I think. So for now I’m enjoying the small changes, particularly being able to fit much more comfortably into my existing clothes, and seeing how things go.

Yetanotherone12 · Yesterday 13:32

I am two weeks into 4mg now.

8lbs in total. So while it does seem excruciatingly slow, that’s about 1lb a week, no tracking, no calorie counting. I do need to get back to the gym, with the summer holidays I’ve missed a lot of classes with one thing and another.

i am dithering about 9mg now. While a little bit faster would be nice, I am comfortable with 4mg, I think I’m eating reasonably well. I am not sure whether I have side effects or just general tiredness/under the weather- I do feel ill, but may be a virus.

interestingly I have two sets of scales- an electronic pair and a digital pair. The electronic pair seem to hold steady for ages then drop a pound, whereas the digital seem to show smaller losses. They both measure to one decimal place though. I don’t record the digital weight though so could be me. Maybe I should start noting it down. The app on the electronic pair is much easier though!!

maximc · Yesterday 13:57

I ate a chocolate bar while feeling no suppression & it tasted weird & too sweet & made me feel sick. So I guess it's working even if it doesn't always feel like it. Interested to hear varied experience on this med. Maybe they haven't quite cracked the problem.of poor absorption through the oral route even if it's taken exactly according to the protocol? I expect the higher dose prices will drop when Foundayo hits the pharmacies, so let's hope that's soon.

Vlavlg · Yesterday 17:58

Im on day 13 of 4mg and I have lost just short of 4kg. I think the suppression is mixed and definitely wears off late afternoon. It helps me to fast (16/8) and cravings for sweet things and carbs are less.

I take mine at 5.30am or 6.00am and then go back to sleep. I’m wondering whether I should be staying upright/sitting after taking it. I could take it later when I wake up properly but like to have a tea or at least a big glass or water. There seem to be mixed messages about whether it is important to stay upright. What does everyone else do ?

Apsidistra · Yesterday 18:05

Day six for me on 1.5mg. I got home from work, started to stuff my face as usual and the food just tasted… nothingy! So I stopped! Hurray 🥳
