Hi all. I’m starting Ozempic jabs on Thursday. My prescription is sitting in the fridge ready to take to see the nurse who is going to show me what to do. I’m excited/nervous. Anyone else about to start who wants to join a thread. (I couldn’t see one already for July starters).

Well I’ve repositioned the scales and I’m now weighing exactly the same as last week. I’ll take that over a one stone gain🤣. I will think about investing in some new scales and as @Sugaraddledsuggested a tape measure.

My bathroom scales are new, but depending where in the bathroom i place them, the weight changes. I have wooden floors, but they seem to be a bit on the wonk!

Hello all, I’d like to join the July group if i
may. I used MJ for a while last year but I didn’t have any success, I had a hysterectomy last November and I have developed the menopause mid section weight gain on top of already carrying the weight of being the ‘big’ girl since I was very young. I’m hoping that weygovy is a bit less brutal for me than MJ. I hope to give this time around my best, by ensuring I’m
Eating enough protein,
getting in the water and electrolytes and getting moving again with some strength training to boot. I think ill
jab tomorrow night as I have Friday off. Looking forward to sharing the journey with you all.

Sorry if this is tmi, but is anyone else constipated. I’ve been 4/5 days now. However I’m not uncomfortable, so reluctant to take any medication. Trying to drink loads, and eating lots of veg.

OP posts:
katand2kits · 09/07/2026 10:20

@goingdownhopefullyyes me too. This is because the medication slows down your digestive system. Eat plenty of fibre and keep hydrated. If its been five days I would take a laxative though.

@katand2kits. Problem resolved itself after my postingGrin

hi @Notadream. Welcome. Just curious, in what way was MJ brutal?

I just weighed myself this morning. It hasn't been a whole week exactly as I did my first injection on Friday night but it feels wrong to have a weekend weigh in day!

I have lost 3 pounds. I know that is a good loss in just under a week but I can't get excited yet. It's the same few pounds I've been taking off and putting back on for a while now. If I get another good loss next week that will be exciting as it will take me to numbers i haven't seen on the scale for a while.

All I have done so far is eat when I'm hungry and stop when I have had enough to see where that gets me.

I haven't set myself a target yet as I have never yet reached a target weight. I hardly dare dream of thinner thighs 🙂

goingdownhopefully · 10/07/2026 10:13

That’s sounds good @Sugaraddled. I know what you mean about loosing and regaining the same weight. But hopefully this loss will continue now.

Are you eating a lot less @Sugaraddled? I enjoy a fairly nutritious diet normally, but I have cut out processed food and am trying to concentrate on protein.

OP posts:
CrabPasteSarnie · 10/07/2026 10:31

So I did my first injection yesterday and I completely messed up! Despite reading the instructions thoroughly a couple of times removed the pen straight after the dial went to 0 instead of counting to 6!
I have googled and it looks like I may still have received some of the dose but I can't believe i did that. An expensive mistake.
Still, I'll remember next time😀

goingdownhopefully · 10/07/2026 13:35

Oh that’s frustrating. Hopefully some of it is in.

I'm probably not eating as well as I should. I am definitely eating less. I have protein at lunch and dinner, for breakfast i prioritised fibre to avoid getting blocked up.

I have been walking and swimming a little and using a kettlebell to try and tone my arms a little.

I cheered up when I put on a button up top as last time I wore it the buttons kept popping open. Not this time!

Pretty chuffed to have a little non scale victory so soon!

Oh how annoying! Pretty sure we will all do this at least once in our journeys, well done for getting it out of age way already 😁

@Sugaraddled NSVs are the best

I started on Thursday. So far I haven’t had any side effects, I’m definitely eating less but that might be the heat!

goingdownhopefully · 10/07/2026 19:05

Hi @LouisaMayAlcott. Yes that’s how I feel too. I’m worried my appetite will come back in full force once the weather cools.

hi @Notadream. Welcome. Just curious, in what way was MJ brutal?

Hey, I found going up the doses really tough, supression was unreal for the first week
of each pen and I’d get a few horrible side effects and then they would settle.
I lost a little weight in the first month and then kept losing and gaining the same 4 lbs for the next 10 months, when I got to the 7.5pen I started to get upper right abdomen pain and it was getting expensive so
I stopped and also I was going in to have a hysterectomy so thought it was best to give them
a break. On reflection, I didn’t drink enough water and I was hit and miss with meals. So I thought I’d try weygovy. I’m 8 months post op, I’ve ballooned, hrt makes me feel horrible so I’m going to see if it’s different this time with the weygovy.

Nutsabouttopic · 11/07/2026 02:30

Hi all hope everyone is doing well. 2nd injection today and what a mess. My DH who is not darling at the moment is trying to be very supportive. He's the only one who knows about the jabs. He decided that I shouldn't have to jab myself so he would do it. I did it last week no problem but against my better judgement I agreed. Oh what a fool I was. I explained patiently three times jab, watch for counter to return to zero then count to six. He got two out of three. Didn't wait to count to six. Lifted the needle and some of my precious liquid gold ran down my leg. Oh says he can we do another one. No.......
Im not weighing myself, I'll get weighed 8n the. Doctors after six weeks but my trousers fit better today. Im feeling fine now no nausea or cramps. Hows everyone else doing

Quartzfairy · 11/07/2026 21:47

Today is the start of week 2 for me. I’m a little disappointed to have only lost 0.5kg so far as I know I have ate a lot less than usual this week. I wonder if the scales might drop a bit more when it finally cools down as I feel so bloated when it’s hot. I’ve just done my second injection so will see how this week goes.

Remindmeofababe · 12/07/2026 14:00

Hello all, have had a busy week and not managed to post. Lovely to catch up on new chat and faces!
My second jab went ok, no bruising and havent felt as sick. Have lost 4lbs but like others I have seen that 4lbs come ans go alot over the last few years!
I put on a pair of shorts and they didn't dig into my waist so was super chuffed with that. I am finding I can say no or stop eating much better. Not sure whether it is because I have developed willpower (unlikely) or that i am aware that as I am spending money on this i had better make sure it works! Either way, definitely noticing some differences. Happy Sunday to you all

goingdownhopefully · 13/07/2026 20:26

Great to hear how you’re all doing @Notadream that did sound rough. Hope the Wegovy works better for you.
sorry about your dh@Nutsabouttopic. But I’m sure you’ll appreciate the support once you’ve recovered.
i didn’t enjoy last nights dinner and had to abandon it. Today I’ve not fancied much so three very small meals. Very low protein today.

Took the plunge on Friday night, was painting and decorating all weekend but I made sure I ate, Saturday I felt pretty much the same but on Sunday I realised I wasn’t thinking at all about food and didn’t have the four big cups of tea with milk that I’m used to in a day. Had a little bout of nausea this morning but only lasted for about 5 mins. Bit of a gurgling tummy tonight. I seem to be hitting my protein well. How much fibre is everyone aiming for? My plan goal on RH Fitness for those on GLP 1 is 30g a day, I never hit it. Any tips? Also weighed in today a I’ve forgotten to over the weekend.. bloody scales they just aren’t kind are they !!!

goingdownhopefully · 14/07/2026 00:03

I seen to be hitting not far short of that most days. I don’t eat much bread/ cereals the occasional whole meal slice. So it’s mainly through vegetables and pulses. It’s hitting the protein that I struggle with.

OP posts:
goingdownhopefully · 14/07/2026 08:21

I also eats seeds, flax/chia/pumpkin and nut butters
