Hi all. I’m starting Ozempic jabs on Thursday. My prescription is sitting in the fridge ready to take to see the nurse who is going to show me what to do. I’m excited/nervous. Anyone else about to start who wants to join a thread. (I couldn’t see one already for July starters).

morning everyone, how is everyone getting on? Well, it’s a huge day for me and I’m in a bit of disbelief- my first wegovy injection was on 8th July 2026 and my starting weight was 13st6lbs, at 5ft5 I was classed as obese. Today, 8th October, I weighed in at 9stone11lbs, and now in the healthy bmi range. My original target was 10stone but I’ve adjusted to 9stone 7lbs so I have some wiggle room for when I reintroduce carbs into my diet. I’m absolutely delighted and still in shock but I’ve decided to treat myself and my boys and am going to book a last minute get away in the school holidays to celebrate 🍾
once the kiddos are at school, I’ll post a before and after picture as that’s what has really hit home for me, as honestly some days I don’t feel that different, but seeing it in picture form shows how far I’ve come.
hope everyone’s journey is going well & that you all have a good day 😊

Oh my goodness!!! That's a huge loss in a really short time. You must look completely different and need a whole new wardrobe!

Have you been low carb the whole time?

Congratulations, I imagine it'll take your head a while to catch up.

@SugaraddledThank you ☺️ yes, I’ve been on keto the whole time so I think that’s a huge reason I’ve lost quicker & I do expect to gain a bit when I reintroduce carbs. But wegovy has made sticking to keto easier as I’m not thinking about food or craving sugar. You’ve hit the nail on the head - I don’t think my brain has realised I’ve changed yet and it’s a really strange feeling 🙈 how you getting on?x

Jeffsar I'm very jealous!

I'm losing slowly just eating a normal diet but trying not to eat more than my body needs. Down by 13 pounds now and I'm happy to be smaller than I was. Chasing the next pound to get to a stone which feels like a noticeable difference in my body and the way my clothes fit. I might give reducing carbs a go as it's worked for me before but I find it hard to meal plan.

Xxx

13lbs is a huge amount of weight but I completely get the want to see a stone off, feels like a milestone! And let’s be honest, the way you are losing will be easier to maintain than the way I have, as it’s not realistic for me to never eat another carb in my life again 😂 if you do want to lower carbs though, I’d recommend joining a few low carb groups on Facebook as there are some really good meal ideas, and for keto (which is more extreme) the Michael Mosley books are really good xx

Thank you jeffsar I will have a look 😘

Last couple of weeks been under a lot of pressure and made easy choices rather than the most nutritious. But still another three pounds down.
I’ve noticed a tendency to stomach upset the day after my injection, and going the opposite way by the end of the week.
glad to hear others are doing well. I’m taken aback to realise how long we’ve been doing this now. Feels like we’ve just started in many ways.

Well done! It sounds like your body is really changing.

I got a pound off this week, not much but it takes me to a total loss of a stone which feels substantial. 🙂

i agree. A stone feels like an achievement.

Hello everybody! Hope you are all getting on ok, lovely to see the major milestones being achieved. I just wanted to say that today I jumped on and I’ve hit the first stone off !!! I’m so chuffed, it’s take a while but here I am.

can I ask if anyone is on hrt and GLP 1 here?

ive started to get symptoms again ( had a hysterectomy at November) so I think my last remaining ovary is packing up finally. I’ve been given all the hrt by my doctor. But now I’ve finally started to lose weight I’m loathed to put it back on with the hrt which I’ve experienced before. I’m thinking ride it out until I get to my goal and then start of I can deal with the hot sweats and flushes etc. Any thoughts of any of you are at that age or time of life?
