Hi all. I’m starting Ozempic jabs on Thursday. My prescription is sitting in the fridge ready to take to see the nurse who is going to show me what to do. I’m excited/nervous. Anyone else about to start who wants to join a thread. (I couldn’t see one already for July starters).

I weighed this morning (early, weigh day is Wednesday) and I’m down a pound after losing nothing last week. So seven and a half pounds down so far (6th jab due Wednesday).

my calories vary day to day. But would average out around 1100. Sometimes down to nine, sometimes up to 13. The thing is I feel I’m eating so much that I find it hard to believe I’m tracking correctly. I’m using MFP but also putting photos and info into chat gpt. They don’t exactly tally but are roughly the same every day. Some times I skip a breakfast or lunch but do try to eat a little protein at least. I’m not really getting any food noise but I eat my evening meal earlyish, and sometimes get a little fancy in the evening but I can ignore it. I’m finding now the weather is a bit cooler than it has been my appetite has increased a bit. But I’m still on .25. Sorry to waffle on. Interested to hear how you’re all feeling.

I did my fourth jab on Sunday. I didn’t lose anything in week 4, so 5 pounds overall in my first month. I was hoping to lose more but everything I’m reading on line says that’s about right. I decided to stay on 0.25ml for month 2, although I’m wondering now if I should have gone up. Will have to see how it goes!

Calories - I’m about the same as you @goingdownhopefully

ButryMashPot · 04/08/2026 07:56

I did my 3rd jab last night (0.25), I've noticed that my food noise is less and I am eating less. Ive lost 1kg since starting and I'm a bit disappoined really as I've read so many people lose almost a stone in the 1st month. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I'm definately eating less, I dont eat breakfast (cant stomach food 1st thing) then for lunch I have a wholemeal wrap with a small amount of mayo and either ham and salad or chicken breast and salad and a packet of wotsits or quavers. Then in the afternoon I'll sometimes have an apple or a yoghurt. Dinner in the evening is usually some sort of chicken, last night I had a chicken supreme, some microwave rice and salad.Other nights I might have a chicken skewer, flatbread and salad. Any tips would be useful.

goingdownhopefully · 05/08/2026 08:36

You don’t say how much you’ve got to lose @ButryMashPotbut I think most of the larger initial losses are with people with lots to loose. I have loads to loose and a medium weight loss, but at least it’s going and I do feel better, less achy certainly. Also I like the diminished food noise.
I’m glad I did an early weigh and saw that pound gone because it’s back on today🫢. Injection six coming up. It’s gone very quickly.

Ok. So I just did my Jab myself. Daughter has done it for me up till now. It was easy and painless. I was just worried about getting it wrong.

I've got about 3-4 stone to lose, feel much less hungry this week so hopefully will see some movement next week. I've got one more 0.25 jab to do next week and then will be moving up to 0.5 so maybe will see more a result then.

goingdownhopefully · 07/08/2026 17:26

Oh good luck. I’m more in the six to seven stone need to lose range. But I’ll take whatever I can get. I’m going up to .5 next week too. It will be week seven but I’ve used up extra I’ve had left over in my pen the last two weeks. But not feeling the suppression so strong this week.

@goingdownhopefullywell done for doing your jab alone. I do sometimes struggle with my cals and feel they are a lot for me at 5ft 4 but it’s the way the app I use works, they give you some rope so you don’t feel massively restricted and go off and binge, even on the GLP 1 plan 1600 is a good amount of calories. I lost another 0.5 last week. That brought me to a 7lb loss in the first month of wegovy which is a bonus for me being such a slow loser usually. I did see the stone bracket below twice last week too so I’m deffo going in the right direction, shame it bobbed back up again though !!
I’ve been feeling a lot better, no bloating or nausea this week, although the food noises is deffo not as quiet as it has been. @Quartzfairy Are you still on the same dose or did you go up? If so how have you felt?
@ButryMashPot have you thought about trying breakfast for a week, and introducing some protein first thing in a coffee or shake form or maybe some scrambled eggs? That might get the fire burning early? I’ve heard some say they see results after eating breakfast?
@LoopyGremlinhow are you getting on?

LoopyGremlin · 10/08/2026 21:26

Hi @Notadream
so I am 12 days in. No side effects as such but struggling to eat enough. Averaging about 1200 calories a day. Lost 4lbs in the first week and will weigh myself again on Wednesday. Trying to do some strength training but fear I might lose muscle.

Hi @LoopyGremlin, I’ve got a dodgy foot at the moment and it’s been really tricky to get some training in so I’ve been flicking through you tube for some short videos, I’m also worried about the muscle loss. Good to hear you’ve escaped the side effects so far 😊

LoopyGremlin · 12/08/2026 06:10

Just weighed myself and have put two pounds on! No idea how. But I am doing a LOT more exercise so maybe to do with that 🤔 Anyway, a bit disappointed but onwards I go!

Quartzfairy · 12/08/2026 07:19

@Notadreamwell done on the 7pounds loss in your first month. I’ve lost 5 pounds overall, I didn’t lose anything week 4 or 5 which was a little disappointing. However, I do feel much less bloated and I’ve been going the gym a lot so feeling more toned and better overall. I didn’t increase my dose but will do next month.

jeffsar · 12/08/2026 08:32

Hi everyone, hope you are all well 😊 weigh in day today; weigh day 5 ahead of injection 6. Another 2lbs off so that’s 1st11lbs - delighted. I do think it’s likely that sticking to keto the entire time is the reason I’ve lost faster - and that’s been made easier without any food noises for sure. Still a long way to go for me but feeling motivated to keep it going 😊

goingdownhopefully · 12/08/2026 08:35

So I’m going up to.5 today (start of week 7) when I take my dose at lunchtime. I was hungry yesterday evening with a bit of food noise, after a substantial roast chicken and salad dinner. I could easily have eaten a sandwich. I didn’t because I was worried about reflux if I ate late but it wasn’t a very comfortable evening. Anyway I’m ten pounds down so far, so a steady loss.
@LoopyGremlin I’m sure the two pound gain will be all muscle.
@Notadreamhope your foot improves and that’s a good loss. I know what you mean about bobbing back up but I usually take the lower weight. Grin
@ButryMashPot have you gone up yet? I’m interested to hear how much of a difference a higher dose makes.
@Quartzfairy. That’s a good start, over a pound a month.
@Sugaraddled Hope you’re doing ok this week.
Hope everyone else is doing well. Looking forward to hearing from everyone

@jeffsar that’s a very good weight loss. Well done. I’ve done very low carb previously (pre injections) but I really enjoy all the mid range veg and pulses so I’m doing more of a Mediterranean style woe currently, while putting protein to the fore. I have it it mind to go to very low carb if the weight loss stops later down the line.

Thank you but I actually think your way is healthier - losing at this rate isn’t sustainable & I need to be realistic….. I’m actually thinking of moving to more of a low carb rather than keto and adding in more veg and pulses - will be easier to stick to if I decide to come off of the injections.
how are you feeling in general? I’ve had a couple of symptoms recently which is new, with nausea being the main one 🙈

goingdownhopefully · 12/08/2026 22:54

I’ve not really had any issues beyond the odd mild feeling of nausea and some constipation. I’ve not taken medication for the latter and it is improving with eating more pulses. I also need to keep my liquid up, but find I’m often too full to drink much. I’ve never been a big drinker but don’t even finish a cup of tea these days before its stone cold (I do drink it cold though). I’m enjoying the food I eat. Three meals a day. No need to snack though occasionally during the evening I might get the odd fancy, but I can ignore it. The food noise is definitely reduced. I don’t find I’m leaving food (or rarely) but I’m careful what I plate up as I hate food waste but will happily eat leftovers the next day. Thinking about food still takes up a lot of my thoughts, but it’s more about sensible planning than just wanting to eat. There’s been no noticeable difference today since going up to 0.5 earlier. But I’ll keep you posted on that.

Notadream · 15/08/2026 22:36

So week 5 is done and dusted, no loss but I’ve deffo had a sweet tooth this week and some food nose is absolutely back. Looking back at my food diary I’ve let a good 300 cals a day come from crap sugary foods so might try and knock that on the head. Also drank wine this week after a shitty week at work so that’s not really setting me up for a win either. Next week will be better. Hope everyone is having nice weekend.

Quartzfairy · 16/08/2026 16:24

6 weeks in and I’m down 3kg so averaging 0.5kg a week. Really pleased and can feel the difference around my waist. 10kg to go!

goingdownhopefully · 17/08/2026 06:23

Hi @Notadream good luck for next week. Are you still on.25 or did you go up, sorry can’t remember. I definitely have weeks when I don’t loose then off it goes again.
well done Quartzfairy. That’s a good steady loss.
so I’m coming to the end of my first week on .5. The first few days were confusing as I felt more hungry and definitely had to exercise more will power. However that has changed again and the last two days I’ve forgotten to eat lunch. Enjoyed dinner but not had any craving after.
No other symptoms beyond a bit of constipation. I’m two and a half pounds down this week (weighing a couple of days early) so that’s twelve and a half pounds in just under seven weeks.
So while I’d love to wake up tomorrow morning and be five stone lighter i’m very pleased with that loss.

Well done everyone for your losses, I hope you are enjoying the difference it makes to your bodies.

Thank you for the shout out goingdownhopefully it is lovely to be remembered. I've been quiet as I was on holiday in the land of croissants, baguettes and wine with no WiFi 😄

My pre holiday weight was 12st 2. I didn't want to deny myself the pastries etc as life is for living so I just relaxed. I naturally ate less than I would have done though. My body now tells me when I have had enough of something and I just stop eating it. This NEVER happened before, my appetite without the WLI always demanded I finish everything. I now understand what skinny people say when they say to just stop eating when you've had enough, all along their bodies were naturally regulating their intake and mine wasn't. Nothing to do with willpower! I could cry at the unfairness all these years.

Anyway, on holiday I did about 3 times as much exercise as I do at home keeping my sons entertained with bike rides and playing on the beach. Im absolutely thrilled to weigh 12st 1.8 this morning! Yes it's a tiny loss but I did eat everything I fancied and I usually put 5 pounds on when I go on holiday.

Now I need to really knuckle down and get some more pounds off , I've been a bit half hearted expecting to put on on holiday.

😁

goingdownhopefully · 19/08/2026 13:25

So my second 0.5 injection today. Starting week 8. (I did .25 for six weeks as I had extra in my pen, then went up).
At the beginning of the week I felt surprisingly hungry but this didn’t last. I’ve missed several lunches. Today I’ve not been able to face breakfast or lunch so far , and think I’m unlikely to eat before dinner time. I did eat a larger than probably needed meal yesterday evening. Just realised I’ve already posted most of this. Hmm

Weigh day and injection 7 today; officially 2 stone gone. I’m really pleased but also feel a bit daunted that I’ve still got a long way to go…. But, I’m determined so on I go! Only symptom so far is nausea but it’s helping limit my appetite as the thought of eating makes it worse 🙈 well done to everyone else on your progress and hope everyone is feeling ok xx

LoopyGremlin · 19/08/2026 15:32

Last injection of 0.25 today. Added a pound on but think that’s muscle…well
i hope it is!
