Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

Good morning all, I had my first dose last night. Have tons to lose, should actually work out the aim overall but for now will aim for 5st.

happymamap · 30/05/2026 16:44

I have just ordered too. But Wegovy not MJ although it appears everyone else seems to do MJ? cost was a big pull towards Wegovy. Have been thinking about it for months but after being overweight my whole life (apsara from about a year at age 26 I am desperate for help. Since my second child was born four years ago and I have been losing and gaining the same stone over and over again. It’s like if I don’t think constantly about diet and calorie tracking I just gain all back again. So looking forward to it not taking up every thought and making a conscious effort to ignore food noise. Hopefully will arrive soon.

TW 11:0 (but would be thrilled will 12:0)

How are you feeling after your first doses @QueenStevie@LetitGoDLP?

@happymamapi saw Wegovy was a lot cheaper when ordering, I went with MJ as it was the one I’d done the most research on and had good reviews on from family and friends! Let us know how you get on 😊

Hi, can I join your journey please? Literally just done my first injection. Am really nervous about side effects as I don't cope well with nausea etc. I was a little nervous doing the injection but actually easier than I thought it might be but I felt like I was all fingers and thumbs doing it.

I am 13st 3 and 5'8" BMI 27.5
Hoping to be 10st 10 but would settle for 11 st (be nice to see a number starting with 10 again though!)

We have almost exactly the same stats - I’m 5’7” and my starting weight was 13st 3lb. Aiming for 10st target.

I am a little bit ahead of you though as I’m 2 weeks in (took my third jab yesterday). I’ve lost 7lb so far consuming 1400-1500 cals a day which I’m really pleased with!

So far so good. I can tell I've had something. My stomach feels a bit bubbly but nothing I can't handle and I think I am overanalysing every twinge today because it's the first time. I am trying to drink plenty of water which I am usually rubbish at.

Hi! How has it been going for you? How have the side effects been? Great loss so far! Well done!

Hi! How has it been going for you? How have the side effects been? Great loss so far! Well done!

I almost don’t want to tempt fate but it’s been fantastic!

I don’t have full appetite suppression so I do still enjoy my food but I definitely get fuller much quicker. The main difference for me though is that the food noise/obsession is gone. Before MJ, I thought about food constantly but that has just disappeared. It’s such a great feeling.

I have also had next to no side effects. I was particularly worried about bathroom troubles but nothing has been any different for me.

Initially I was concerned that my calorie intake is too high at 1500ish, but as I’ve had 2 good losses (4.5lb and 2.5lb) then I’m sticking with it as it is for now as I don’t want to go too drastic. I do a min of 8k steps a day and I have started strength training 3/4 per week too.

QueenStevie · 30/05/2026 17:52

I hope that is the same for me. I don't want to go OTT in the calorie counting but, like you, I am desperate for the food noise to stop. I am like a woman possessed over food! A slow and steady loss will be fine. I am scared of toilet troubles too so I keep analysing every grumble or rumble my stomach makes! But so far nothing untoward so I really hope I follow your experience. I do still want to be able to enjoy food, because I do really like it 😂

LetitGoDLP · 30/05/2026 17:55

Glad there was no feeling at all when injecting, such tiny needles! No effects so far I don’t think, am very tired but we were away this week so hoping it’s that. Have gone with a Friday jab day as work is very full on and need to get any side effects over with before Mondays.

SW - 19.5st
TW (for now) - 14st

rosecbrm · 30/05/2026 19:08

I’m with you all on enjoying food, I’m SUCH a foodie. Similar to @bethmoo88I don’t think I have full suppression yet (although I only took my first jab yesterday), but the food noise has stopped drastically and I’m getting fuller quicker. But I’m glad I’m still enjoying what I’m eating!

Hi, can I join please? I’m getting my delivery tomorrow or Monday…I’ve had a thread running for a while debating it, as I’ve previously had breast cancer in 2021, but my lovely GP and I had a great chat yesterday and he’s very very supportive. Sooooo - I’ve finally gone for it. I have about 5/6 stone to lose, but I’ll probably be happy with about 4. I’m feeling excited and nervous in equal measure!!

Henowner · 30/05/2026 21:27

I'm starting on Monday, I'm so nervous about it but am so desperate to lose weight. I need to lose 2 and a half stone to get to a healthy weight. I already have several health issues related to weight, I'm peri menopausal and I need a reset.

I'm really looking forward to finally losing weight and being healthy again!

There is honestly nothing to be nervous about. I was exactly the same, and it does all feel a bit full on injecting yourself but once you’ve done it you’ll wonder why you worried at all.

Henowner · 30/05/2026 21:41

@bethmoo88 thanks for the encouragement, I just hope I don't get any nasty side effects from it. I'm WFH for the first few days so at least I'll be in the comfort of my own home.

Cackleandcluck · 30/05/2026 22:23

I thought I would join too as I’ve just taken my first injection. I’m excited to hopefully be healthy again and to wear skirts. I am skinny fat. I hold all my weight in the middle and after a holiday, decided I needed to make a change. I’ve spent the last 18 months restricting my calories, cutting out food for me to only lose half a stone which I put back on in a week.
I need to lose 2 stone ish to be healthy. Are any of you taking supplements and if so which ones. The advice is so overwhelming. Good luck everyone 😊

QueenStevie · 31/05/2026 08:36

I've woken up this morning (first jab yesterday morning) and my body feels 'tender' to touch, mainly just my torso and upper arms. It feels a bit like I've done a work out but I haven't. It's fine, not unbearable or any. It's just a bit weird. Anyone else experienced this?

LetitGoDLP · 31/05/2026 12:12

@Cackleandcluck I am taking biotin which I’ve been taking for about 3 months now and is definitely helping with hair loss I’ve been having and a multivitamin.

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 31/05/2026 13:31

Just had my first Jab! Feel a bit wobbly but I think that’s adrenalin!

Hystersister26 · 31/05/2026 14:18

Good to see others starting same time as me, hope it all works well for you.

I have just taken my first 2.5 injection of mounjaro. I had a hysterectomy almost 8 weeks ago and have gained a stone due to inactivity and eating too much junk. I have a wedding to attend in 5 weeks, have just tried on my dress and its too tight!

I am currently 221 lbs and would like to lose some of the extra weight so I can wear the dress (bought it at 208 lbs) I am able to be more active now although still tire easily.

This is not my first go at Mounjaro, my original start weight was 244lbs and I got down to 210lbs staying on 2.5 pens in 2025.

Hi, how long were you on it the first time and how did you find it?

Hi, how long were you on it the first time and how did you find it?

I found it ok, no side effects really apart from a bit constipation. I was on it for around 4 months. Weight loss was quick at the start - 13lbs in my first pen - then slower after that with many stay the same weeks. Interestingly I didn't drink any alcohol during that time either, just didn't fancy it. I maintained the weight loss till my recent blip due to surgery

TheLoupGarou · 31/05/2026 15:06

Hi everyone! I'll join too. Am going to take my first injection this evening. 13st 11lb and would like to lose about 3 1/2 stone i guess. Bit nervous! It is reassuring reading everyones' experiences though

Hi, welcome! I watched a few YouTube videos to see how to prime the pen and do the injection. That was helpful. I still felt a bit clumsy doing it though. Hope I get smoother at it! Good luck!

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 31/05/2026 20:26

I’m looking forward to seeing what the effects are over the next days/weeks/months. I went out for dinner this evening and ordered a chicken spice bowl…it wasn’t massive, but I felt really full after less than half of it. I realise there’s no way it could have kicked in in just four hours, but it did make me wonder how much of this could be psychological/placebo? Very interesting!

Can I join? Hoping to start at the end of this week. Just being ‘vetted’ so hoping my pen comes asap. I have used Morrisons online pharmacy. I have been considering for a while too. I have for the most part been eating healthy and doing home workouts twice daily. Tried various diet plans that have all worked before but I just can’t seem to shift only maintain. If I do have a rare cheat day (takeaway, BBQ, party, etc) I seem to gain pounds, and I don’t over indulge. GP says it’s just my age now. I had my youngest just over 2 years ago and I don’t want to spend years worrying about my weight and attempting but failing to loose.

Currently 12st 8lb and 5ft 5inches

Aiming for 9st 7lb to 10st so about 2 1/2 - 3 stone loss.
