rosecbrm · 28/05/2026 11:49

Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

Well, i have just done my first injection! I feel a little light headed and weird but i am not sure if it is my imagination 🤣

Yabbadabbadooooooo · 31/05/2026 23:45

I’m in! 2.5 stone to lose from 12.5 to 10 stone.

LetitGoDLP · 01/06/2026 07:36

Woken up with sulphur burps, one I was hoping to miss!

happymamap · 01/06/2026 07:40

My pen should arrive today. Can’t decide if I’m overthinking when to jab. Part of me wants to start asap (and thinking why didn’t I do this a year ago) other part thinks be sensible and wait until later in week in case side effects I’m not at work. So excited. Great hearing all the updates from everyone.

KrazyKatty · 01/06/2026 08:38

@rosecbrm Can you ask MNHQ to amend your thread title to include 26 in it otherwise, it will get muddled with the previous two June thread starters (2024 and 2025) and new and old posters could end up posting on here.

rosecbrm · 01/06/2026 08:43

@KrazyKattysorry! Done 😊

I’m feeling good after jabbing on Friday morning. No side effects really, feel a bit more tired but not sure if that’s just being a mum to an 1 year old who’s teething and not sleeping great 🤣

Actually weighed myself this morning and am 2.5lbs down already, was shocked! I obviously know this is predominantly water weight but still nice to see the scales move!

1st jab on Saturday, no side effects so far but also haven't noticed any suppression so far!

I was the same - i waited til last night to have my first dose because i knew i had a day off today. I've actually been fine so far - but you never know!

1st jab on Saturday, no side effects so far but also haven't noticed any suppression so far!

I felt hungry when i woke up this morning, but when i had my breakfast i felt full REALLY quickly. I would say after about half my usual amount of fruit and yogurt - it was pretty mad. Unheard of for me not to finish a full bowl 🤣

rosecbrm · 01/06/2026 12:47

How’s everyone feeling? I was starting to feel a bit icky but then realised it’s probably because I hadn’t eaten anything yet! Made a ham and veggie omelette which I managed to eat half of, feel a bit better now!

One of the glands on my neck has been slightly swollen and tender since the weekend, wondered if this was because of the injection or I’m coming down with something. It’s not a reported side effect but I’ve read a few threads where people have reported the same. I often get the same from vaccinations or when I’m run down. Intrigued to see if I have the same reaction after my next dose at the end of the week!

Hystersister26 · 01/06/2026 12:52

My 1st dose was yesterday and have headache today which won't clear with paracetamol. I'm drinking lots of water. Thinking it could be lack of sugary snacks/diet coke - having a wee detox too from wine until wedding on 8th July.

Still thinking of food but not acting on it

Cackleandcluck · 01/06/2026 13:09

I haven’t managed to finish a meal but I haven’t lost anything yet. I’m really pleased with how I haven’t eaten any junk food. I think partly it’s psychological, like I will be breaking some sort of code if I do. So far no side effects. How is everyone feeling about social situations? I have a birthday this weekend and I’m worried that a drink may cause me to feel drunk more quickly.

rosecbrm · 01/06/2026 13:38

I definitely agree some parts must be psychological too, I keep thinking what’s the point in spending this money on the jab for me to just eat rubbish 🤣

I started a week ago, off licence was bmi 27

No major side effects but my normal tendency to be constipated is worse - I’m drinking more water to try to improve, already have loads of fibre in my diet

Food noise not totally gone but feels amazing that it’s almost gone

I’m naturally doing smaller portions and choosing not to eat full plate

I didn’t want to drink alcohol at all at the start of the week but I had a couple of glasses of wine on Saturday night which was fine

At the end of the week the food noise was increasing but not what it was preMJ

Lost 5 and a half pounds - I suspect mostly water and working on drinking more. Was on a walking holiday and walked about 50 miles in the week so that will have contributed

After 2 and a half years of miserable dieting it feels absolutely amazing! The best part is the improvement in my mental health - I’m not constantly hungry or hangry

rosecbrm · 01/06/2026 14:22

That’s amazing! Well done @Theolittle😊

That's brilliant @Theolittle- i'd be so happy with that

LetitGoDLP · 02/06/2026 07:50

Wow, @Theolittle thats brilliant!

I had a terrible day yesterday and it just didn't feel right to start so I have started this morning instead.

I weighed myself, I'm the heaviest I've been for over a year 🫣

I went out for my usual fasted walk this morning, had a bit of fruit for breakfast, some coffee and plain yoghurt and I feel....okay really. I still feel a bit hungry though so will have some homemade soup in a bit. I understand it can take a while to take effect.

HelicoPie · 02/06/2026 16:38

New starter here too - first Jab on Sunday evening and it’s miraculous. No food noise but also not off my food. Just feel happily able to enjoy some fruit, or other healthy food with no cravings for sugar/salt/fat.

injected in stomach - a bit nervous but my hubby has type 1 diabetes and watched him inject several times a day for decades without any choice in the matter so in my house - complaining on that front feels indulgent so I’ve found that helpful to just crack on (completely get the nerves but just can’t be complaining after seeing him cope for so long).

so excited and glad I did this.

I think its a good thing you still feel hunger. I still want to eat and have 3 meals a day, what I don't feel like doing is snacking like I was doing before. We stopped in at the local pub on our walk today and I had one vodka soda and lime - hardly recognise myself as I just didn't want my usual wine.

Having pie chips and beans tonight, logging everything in Nutracheck and aiming for between 1500 and 1600 calories a day.

KittytheHare · 02/06/2026 19:31

I’m going to preface this by saying that I had dental surgery on Friday and consequently ate very little for 3/4 days. I had my first jab last Tues and weighed myself this morning to find that I had lost 4.8kg (around 10lbs 6). Obviously the circumstances were extreme, plus water loss but still am bloody thrilled.
Did my second jab this afternoon and feel fine.

QueenStevie · 02/06/2026 19:32

I'm still feeling hungry which I don't mind but it isn't that gnawing hunger. I also have done two days at work and haven't snacked once! Can't believe it. I normally pick at whatever the children are having for snack or a spare piece of toast etc. I'm not even really feeling like anything. I do see what people say about the food noise being switched off. I've only told two people, DH and my friend. I think I'll give it a few weeks and see if anyone notices. I definitely don't feel as bloated as I did before so that's good. I'm just struggling to drink enough water. I'm rubbish at that anyway and I only really like ice cold water or sparkling water. I think I am going to buy a water filter for the fridge at work and hope that tempts me.

Oh wow!!! That is a good loss. I had dental surgery last year and had high hopes that would kick start my weight loss but I still managed to find a way...😆

That’s exactly how I feel, no snacking urges at all. Today at work I got halfway through my breakfast bowl, and realised I just didn’t want the rest, so popped the lid back in and had the remainder this afternoon. Started my PT sessions this evening, and felt pleasantly hungry afterwards. Just had my evening meal of chicken Caesar salad and some bbq rice and ate the lot. No desire so far to raid the biscuits etc! I’ve only told two people, too. I want to see how I get on and I can’t stand it when you mention you’re trying to diet/lose weight, and then it turns into the only topic of conversation! If this works, and I manage to shift some weight, I’ll happily talk about it then. But I don’t want to have people looking at me and trying to work out if I’m successful!

HelicoPie · 02/06/2026 23:33

Hmmm first injection Sunday, not eaten much at all - why did I weigh myself 3 days in. Shockingly no change - should def give it at least a week.
