Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

That’s impressive well done! Are you weighing weekly? What do you aim to loose in total?

I have been doing 2 home workout videos daily. Between work and mum life I don’t get the chance to go to the gym. I used to run most days but I don’t have the confidence (or time) at the moment. Hoping to start up again soon.

Is there advice on amounts of calories, protein, etc to eat?

Hoping to stick out a lower dosage as long as possible. I find I don’t get food cravings when I am busier. Wednesday and Thursday are busy days for me so hopefully doing the pen on a Friday will help 🤞🏼

My starting weight was 13lb 3lb, I’m hoping to get to as close to 10st as possible! The initial couple of weeks have been a great boost but I’m sure it won’t be that dramatic every week so I’m trying to prepare myself for seeing some smaller losses or even maintains in the weeks to come.

I have 4 children so I feel your pain! I get up and go out at 5:15am so I’m back for 6:30am and it doesn’t affect anyone else in the house but I am ready for bed by about 9pm now which isn’t ideal.

I think it’s personal preference on calories. I’ve seen some people saying they’re only having 800 but that’s too extreme for me as I want it to be as sustainable as possible in the long run. Protein wise - as much as possible so you don’t end up losing muscle instead of or as well as fat!

I had a really, really sore upper arm in the night and during today. I couldn't sleep because of it and I couldn't raise my arm this morning. It has eased up a bit now but still sore. Any ideas? The only thing that's different is mounjaro.

Notweirdatall · 04/06/2026 20:12

Oooh I have no idea what the sore arm
could be about QueenStevie. No matter the injection in the past, I’ve ended up with one niggle or another.

I took my first dose this avo. Def feel a bit weird, and not as hungry at dinner (finished my salmon fillet and some cabbage) but unsure if that could possibly the Mounjaro already or if it’s a bit of excitement!

What is the quickest any of you have seen an effect?

I think it can definitely work that quick!

As to the question someone asked about what are we eating, I’m just trying to eat plenty fibre and protein and cutting out potatoes pasta and bread as much as possible. I can’t eat a full evening meal any more - when I think about it it’s absolutely crazy - this is just not me at all I have a huge appetite!

Wow! I’ve woken up today feeling a little off but managed fruit salad, half a protein yogurt and pumpkin seeds, and like you usually have a big appetite- maybe this will work after all!!!

Seagullsandsausagerolls · 05/06/2026 11:09

Im starting back after a year off. I originally took it from October 2024-Feb 2025 and lost 2 stone 9lbs. I came off it for surgery, the surgery didn't go as planned and its only now Im feeling like starting again.

Ive put 1 stone of that back on again, but considering the complications of the surgery that is good.

Current start weight is 14s 7lb.

sweetpickle2 · 05/06/2026 11:51

Can I join?

Was on the jabs till December, came off them, regained half the weight, am back on them again! Starting with a 6.25mg microdose from a 12.5mg pen.

Getting married at the start of August so need to get in my dress!

Current start weight is 94kg. Need to be 85kg by the wedding.

Hi everyone…it’s been an interesting first few days. Pretty much immediately after injecting on Sunday, I felt less hungry and was eating significantly less, leaving as much as half of a meal. I’ve been eating well nutrition wise, with a good balance of protein and fibre. However, I can definitely feel an increase in appetite creeping back, and it’s making me think…if this is going to be the pattern, it probably would have been better to start injecting on a Friday, so the suppression was highest at the weekends (when there’s more temptation!) Anyone else feel the same? And is it possible to bring it forward or would I have to to the opposite and wait til the following Friday? (Hope that makes sense!) Anyhow, I also had a sneaky jump on the scales on Wednesday, and was 3lbs down. Obviously I’m aware that first week is likely water etc, but it did give me a little boost!

I started 3 weeks ago - during the first week, I did feel suppression wearing off about 2/3 days before the next jab. However, that hasn’t happened since my second and third jab as I will have a higher dosage in my system now so hopefully you will feel the same.

I inject on a Friday to reduce temptation at the weekend, although as my suppression is now level throughout the 7 days, I suppose any day would do really.

LetitGoDLP · 05/06/2026 14:30

You can bring the dose forward by 1 day at a time. My husband has also started with me albeit a day behind so we are both jabbing tonight.

HNAN36 · 05/06/2026 16:27

My pen came today so I have done my first injection , literally as soon as it came as it was supposed to come yesterday. I was super nervous about doing it wrong. But you can’t really go wrong. When did you start to notice that you had taken it? Reactions, side effects, reduced food noise, etc?

How is everyone getting on? I know some of you are taking your second…

Theolittle · 05/06/2026 19:23

I’m in my second week and getting emails reminding me to do order for next month. But I’m not sure whether I’ll need to increase to 5mg yet🤔 so I’m going to put it off as long as possible
to see how I’m getting on

Slighty strange side effect - I get a runny nose after eating!

wisteriaoverbarefeet · 05/06/2026 19:28

I’m doing my first jab tonight, really nervous but trying to not let my anxiety take over. I’m also excited and hopeful? I’ve been in a cycle of trying to lose weight on and off for years and I’m drained, really hoping this works for me - aiming to lose 5/6 stone

I was worried about doing the injection. I watched this video below. It was so simple and didn’t feel a thing. I have been trying to loose for while but only seem to maintain. I’m hoping this works for me too, if it does at least I know I have the ability to maintain afterwards 🤞🏼

Well, i have just done my first injection! I feel a little light headed and weird but i am not sure if it is my imagination 🤣

I felt the same but passed quickly, but not before I panicked that I had somehow injected the whole pen!

Day 2/3 and have massive energy surge and was wide awake last night unable to get to sleep. Have been very productive as a result!

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 05/06/2026 21:02

Thanks @bethmoo88 and @LetitGoDLP …I’m going to jab tomorrow rather than Sunday, with the idea that I may then try to bring it forward to Friday the following week. Hopefully the effects will increase for me too 😊

QueenStevie · 06/06/2026 08:50

First weigh in 5lbs off! Now 12 st 12! Just about to do second jab.

Had an Indian takeaway last night but I didn't have any lunch and I didn't go mad with the takeaway - we shared a meal and just got a couple of sides between us. Also had three glasses of wine with no side effects. Can't believe I didn't eat lunch! And I wasn't starving by the time we ate the takeaway. I was hungry but not ravenous like I would have normally.

I haven't had any chocolate in a week and I don't actually miss it 😲

Theolittle · 06/06/2026 08:57

I’m thinking a Sunday jab is good as Saturday night I can have a glass of wine - although one nowadays is definitely enough!

I agree - I feel like it’s so effective you don’t need to worry about overeating so planning a nice normal Saturday meal and wine is a great plan. That’s what I’m doing. I’m currently wondering whether to go up to the 5 or stick with the 2.5 because although I’m finding some food noise this weekend I’m wondering if long term that’s good so you can come off it more easily? Anyone else grappling with this. Currently no side effects.

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 06/06/2026 09:36

I’m moving my jab to today, so pre-jab weigh in…4.5lbs loss 🥰 I know, first week water weight etc etc, but I’m still chuffed to bits!!

bananamachinewater · 06/06/2026 15:26

Bit late joining but I did my first dose on Tuesday night, 2.5mg…woke up feeling like I could just never bother eating again and still pretty much the same 🙌🏼 massive change for me as I was always planning my next food and looking forward to it so much!
however…anyone else a jogger? Tried to do my usual 8k route this morning obviously on a few days of lower calories and felt awwwfullll!! I could have been sick at 6k. Maybe need to force myself to eat a little bit more on Friday night. Planning to get back to weights this week
too. Trying to train for a half marathon in October so hoping I can adjust things for running as that was horrendous 😂

MissClarke86 · 06/06/2026 17:39

I took my first dose a few hours ago, after going backward and forwards about when would be the right time.

I’m currently dieing to pour my usual Saturday night large glass of wine but am nervous about side effects!

Hystersister26 · 06/06/2026 17:46

Due to take my 2nd injection tomorrow and just realised I have not eaten (or wanted) crisps, sweets or chocolate since last Saturday! No interest in wine either. These have been my downfall since my hysterectomy 8 weeks ago.

Had Indian meal last night and managed to eat full meal however I had just had a chicken salad for lunch with no other extras so was probably ready for it.

Have managed to eat in a calorie deficit all week and have tracked everything in Nutracheck - this is what keeps me in check I think.

HNAN36 · 06/06/2026 20:31

Well done @QueenStevieand @TwoBigNoisyBoysthat’s an impressive loss 🙌🏻🎉

I’m having the same thoughts about 5. Last night I went to a party with food and even though it was day 7 after my second 2.5 jab day I could barely eat anything and didn’t feel well at all after a glass of wine. And no more wine. It spoilt the night out a bit. So I’m thinking best to to stick to 2.5 and see how it goes . Next weigh in tomorrow. I’m nervous about it cos I can’t see much if any change since the first weigh in, but realistically I’m eating so much less than normal I’m sure it must be working. We’ll see!
