Hi all,

Ive bit the bullet and have ordered and been accepted to start mounjaro through Voy.

something I’ve been debating for a while but finally decided to try it. I had a baby last year and have managed the get back down to pre baby weight, but still have a bit extra to lose, I want to lose around 1.5/2st.

I regularly exercise through swimming a few times a week but diet is very up and down hence being at a standstill with my weight, so wanted the extra help to create some better relationships with food. I’ll be good all week and then ruin it in a few days with takeaways and snacks!

Nervous but excited!

Wanted to make this thread for anyone else starting their journey soon! Anyone else in the same boat?

Current weight: 12st 10 / 5ft5

I’ve just done mine too! Feel like I messed up a bit when priming - so much squirted out rather than just a drop! And then I forgot to wait the 5-10 seconds after injecting and some dripped out from where I injected. Nightmare! Think it’s because I was so anxious.

hopefully majority of it was taken in though!

When you primed, did you just turn the knob literally one or two tiny clicks? Just one or two of the little lines? Or did you turn it all the way round?

Sometimes people are confused and squirt out a whole dose at first. They turn the knob all the way. So I didn’t feel I could read and run without checking, because it’s an expensive mistake!

rosecbrm · 03/06/2026 02:54

@ShrankLastWintertwo clicks, but I had to do it a few times! No idea what happened, hopefully I have the remaining 3 doses in my pen!

How is everyone feeling? Weighed myself again this morning and am 4lb down since my first dose on Friday.

Separate note, I have tonsillitis atm and was prescribed antibiotics today! Felt pretty rubbish so haven’t felt like eating much anyway! Had a great conversation with the pharmacist about mounjaro, interestingly it’s actually cheaper to go through my local pharmacy for the medication than Voy who I’m currently using!

Hi, can I join?

I had my first injection today, weighing in at 12:7 and I’m 5ft 1 😦.

I have a very large fibroid and uterine lining and although the experts say it doesn’t cause weight gain - my experience is, it has.

Nothing that I’ve tried, to lose weight, has worked. Apart from Keto, which I can’t maintain.

I did 5 weeks on Mounjaro at the very start of last year and lost 10 pounds. I only did 5 weeks as my second pen arrived, at ambient temperature, after several days en route and had a very short life and we were going away aswell. So the 2nd pen went in the bin after 1 dose.

I have put the 10 pounds back on, which I feel is related to the fibroid growth and my hormonal imbalance (hoping for a resolution when my gynaecologist appt comes through).

So here I am again, hoping to complete my journey.

sounds like some of you have had great success already 🙌 hoping to emulate that

4lb since Friday is great, well done!

That is interesting re: local pharmacy cost versus online - I never even considered this, what was the pharmacy cost if you don’t mind me asking? Did they say you just need to take your current prescription to get your next pen or is it more in-depth?

rosecbrm · 03/06/2026 13:02

Thank you @bethmoo88! Yes I thought the same, he said the price for a 2.5mg pen is £157, and this doesn’t increase (not an introductory offer. Obviously it will increase with the higher dose. But for example I am staying on the 2.5mg pen and with Voy, this goes up to £204 next month.

I think he said they do a consultation there and then, but you get it same day!

Wishiwasatailor · 03/06/2026 14:06

@rosecbrm have you looked at monj.co.uk they have all the pharmacy prices including the introductory offers. If you want to hop around using the introductory offers you can get the best prices for a while. I paid £104 for my first pen and £108 for my next pen

happymamap · 03/06/2026 15:47

My first pen has been delayed/lost with Royal Mail. Bolt just saying they will be in touch once they have an update. Tracking still saying will be delivered 1/6 9.40-12.40 so annoying as I just want to get started.

Notweirdatall · 03/06/2026 17:27

Hiya! I’d love to join you all - I have had my first pen delivered today from Well Online Pharmacy and plan to do it tomorrow after work as I’m off on Friday which will give me a chance to settle the nerves, do a shop and try and see how the symptoms are!

Guess I’m most worried about extreme side effects and how it will affect my migraines.

I Am 5 ft 8 and 15.8 and would like to lose 3.8 - not sure what I’ll do re calorie counting/ slimming club yet. Think I’ll get started and go from there.

Bring it on!!!

QueenStevie · 03/06/2026 18:16

Had the diarrhoea last night and this morning 🙈 Only two bouts, one in the night and one not long after I'd got to work (luckily early so hardly anyone else was in). Hoping that will be it but I'm going to keep my immodium handy!

I had a sneaky weigh in this morning - 3lbs down so far! And I don't feel as bloated which is good.

MissClarke86 · 03/06/2026 18:43

Can I join?

im waiting for

MissClarke86 · 03/06/2026 18:44

Sorry I managed to delete half of that!

Waiting for my first pen to arrive and terrified of side effects - too busy to be feeling sick!

JuniperRosy · 03/06/2026 18:56

Can I join? I started my first jab yesterday lunchtime.

I’m hoping to lose around 3.5 stone. I lost 2.5 stone a couple of years ago but stalled and then put it all on again and a bit more. Hoping that with MJ I can get the right habits and changes to make it stick this time!

Definitely feeling the effects today, haven’t wanted to snack at all and feeling full for ages after meals and lunch was much smaller than I usual eat. Side effects wise I’ve been a bit headachy and tired but I’m also due on so it could be AF

Nonononomaybe · 03/06/2026 19:54

Hello can I join too please? Did my first jab yesterday morning. Don’t think I’m feeling any suppression yet, but also no side effects!
Currently 90kg, would like to get down to pre kids fighting weight of around 65kg. Only 158cm so this would still only just be in the target BMI range.

Nonononomaybe · 03/06/2026 19:57

Can I ask what sort of people are eating on a typical day/ tracking with (if you are using an app that is)?
So far I’ve been doing Greek yoghurt/ fruit nuts for breakfast, omelette for
lunch and chicken salad/ salmon & asparagus with new potatoes etc for dinner. Water to drink & a couple of coffees.

HelicoPie · 03/06/2026 20:12

I’ve ended up eating far less. So today was the most and I’ve had the same sort of breakfast - Greek yogurt (Total Fage 0%), berries, and a tiny bit of honey and granola. A dairylee dunker. And then half a bowl of veg soup and a small roll and butter for dinner. I’m stuffed. But yesterday and day before I barely ate anything. So I’m trying to do that.

HNAN36 · 03/06/2026 20:50

My pen comes tomorrow! I was approved by Morrisons with BMI of 29.3, I was worried I wouldn’t be approved because some are saying BMI has to be 30+.

I am going to take my first on Friday because I have Friday to Monday off work and I think they are the times I am more likely to go off the wagon.

What are you all eating each day? And are you exercising too?

Excited and nervous to start…

Goldpanther · 03/06/2026 20:52

Please can I join?

I did my third jab today (so 2 weeks on it so far) and I'm down 3kg.

I got hit badly with side effects 3 days after the first jab, a 3 hour bout of nausea/vomiting but thankfully no diarrhoea. Same thing after the second one, but not as severe, so I've jabbed a day early so if I feel ill it will be on Sunday, and not a day when I'm in office working.

My appetite has completely gone, I used to think about food frequently and would feel hungry in the evenings. I no don't feel hungry, and have some food aversion when I've eaten too much for the day.

Goldpanther · 03/06/2026 20:58

I am sticking to my normal exercise routine - 6k steps a day and 3 times at the gym. I have found I get light headed if I do more intense exercise like Burpees, so I've been pacing myself a bit.

Food wise I'm trying to eat more nutritious foods, today I had
1 Weetabix, chia seeds, flax seeds, 1tbsp greek yogurt and half a banana
M&s nutrient dense chicken meal
Handful of grapes
Then dinner was meant to be chicken breast with greens and potatoes, but I only managed the greens and half the chicken breast.

I think I had a similar BMI to start with, but I’ve lost 7lb now (third weigh in due on Friday!) so it might be a bit less.

Food wise, I’m having 3 high protein meals a day (plus a little low cal evening snack). I have been hitting about 110g protein a day and my calories seem to have settled at about 1400 a day.

Right now I’m comfortable with my level of suppression, I don’t want to be super restrictive on calories and lose weight rapidly so I’m hoping to stay on 2.5mg for as long as possible.

Exercise wise, I aim for 8k steps a day (sometimes it’s lower during the week, but tends to average out at the weekend when I’m more active). I’ve also started strength training 4 x a week.

I also do the jab on a Friday so my suppression is at its strongest over the weekend. I did feel it wearing off towards the end of the first week, but it must be in my system more now as I haven’t had that feeling since.

Good luck and don’t worry about the jab, it really is nothing!

That’s impressive well done! Are you weighing weekly? What do you aim to loose in total?

I have been doing 2 home workout videos daily. Between work and mum life I don’t get the chance to go to the gym. I used to run most days but I don’t have the confidence (or time) at the moment. Hoping to start up again soon.

Is there advice on amounts of calories, protein, etc to eat?

Hoping to stick out a lower dosage as long as possible. I find I don’t get food cravings when I am busier. Wednesday and Thursday are busy days for me so hopefully doing the pen on a Friday will help 🤞🏼

Notweirdatall · 04/06/2026 11:03

Loving that we’re all starting at the same time! Will update you all once I’ve done my jab later!!!

LetitGoDLP · 04/06/2026 15:51

Can I ask if anyone with good suppression could share the jab site you used please? I jabbed in my stomach and had one day of suppression. Going for another site tomorrow. It’s early days but I was definitely hoping not to feel hungry so often. Protein intake is over 100g each day so far.

Was that your first dose? The first pen is meant to build up a baseline level, so when you take your next jab the amount in your system will be higher as there’s already some left from your previous dose so hopefully you’ll feel more suppression with your next one

LetitGoDLP · 04/06/2026 18:45

Only 2.5, I need to be patient I know. I was just hoping to take the edge off at least a little.
