Thanks for the new thread! What’s everyone thinking about their lose skin?? Mine is bad on my stomach, I wish I could afford to have it removed! Need to win the lottery first 🙄😂

👋@alwaysscared !

I haven't really got much loose skin on my body yet - I think that will come in the next 12 months. I'm definitely very conscious now of my turkey neck - it's soooo weird... Having always had multiple chins, there's now just loose skin there and I really don't like it - but I suppose that's the trade off? And maybe it was inevitable as I get older anyway..?!

I won't be having any surgery - no money/bravery/inclination 😀 will just have to tuck loose skin in my clothes if it gets very wobbly and will keep putting Nivea on my neck!

Thanks for new thread @MooBaggage . I'm still too well stuffed to have much loose skin yet though I did notice my bum feels a bit old lady - must do more exercise. My neck isn't crepey yet but I can see the vertical ligaments or whatever - it is starting to look a bit like Matt Lucas did on bake off after he lost all the weight. I'm also stuck on going up and down the same 3lbs again which is tedious. On a good day I am 14'2lbs (fluctuating up to 14'5) and desperate to get into the 13s. It is also my 1 year MJversary. Anything is better than the original 19 stone though, and I was always going to be a slow loser with PCOS, post menopause and being 61

xx

Timetofindme · 23/10/2025 09:58

I finally got brave 3 weeks ago after some very unpleasant side effects on 6.25 and upped my dose to 7.5. Ive been very v v slowly losing but like v v v v slow since my op earlier this year and I decided I had to give it a go. No side effects as yet and I think things are starting to move downwards again. My current plan is to have a soup or salad every day for one of my meals and try to keep an eye on calories that way - I'm not calorie counting as I can get a bit obsessed and it used to drive cravings cos I felt like i couldn't have certain things whereas currently I'm not eating them as I don't actually want them.

Im definitely struggling to see that ive lost weight. I have, ive had to get clothes out the loft as mine were literally falling off but I look in the mirror and the only place I see a difference is my face. I like the less rounded cheeks, and the hint of a collar bone but I now have loose skin under my chin and can't help but see it every time I look in the mirror.

MJ is amazing, I had got to a point where I thought I'd never lose the weight and I actually am but mentally it's so far from the magic wand those not on it seem to think it is!

Sorry that was a bit of a downer post for the start of a new thread!

MooBaggage · 23/10/2025 11:06

@Timetofindme I also have soup/salad for lunches at the moment - I've been making big batches of vegetable soup at the weekends (literally chucking any frozen veg I've got in a big pan, with some chicken stock and some spices) and having a small bowl each day for lunch - I put grated cheese in when I heat it up and it's lovely! Or I'll have chicken/salmon salad if I can be slightly more bothered!

Slow is good - it'll stay off and it's going in the right direction.... Just frustrating when the numbers don't seem to move for eons.

No loss for me this week, other than within the 14.11lbs - so a few days ago I was 14.11.8 and am now 14.11.0 which has seen my BMI shift from 31.4 to 31.3 and another NSV (because we need them when the numbers are being stubborn!) is that my Eufy scales have re-labelled me from 'obese' to 'muscular standard'!! Which I think must be an error, so will see what they say next week! My fat % has also had a shift this week from 41% to 39% and my visceral fat has gone down to 10 which puts it in the 'normal' range.

Obvs the scales can't be completely accurate on these types of things, but I'll take the win for the moment 😊

Timetofindme · 23/10/2025 11:15

@MooBaggage I'm into the chicken and veg soup. Whack it in my multi cooker slow cooker job - means I keep my protein up and it properly fills me whereas shop bought soup I always need bread to feel full!

There's slow and there's slow. Its been probably a pound a month since my op which is not great and with the price rises - expensive! I met someone who told me they've lost over 8 stone in 8 months which seems extremely fast (and also made me feel like a failure which is daft!) Surgery definitely derailed me mentally so glad to be feeling more on track now ive bumped up my dose a bit!

Timetofindme · 23/10/2025 11:16

@MooBaggage definitely take the win! Wins on this journey are so important!

MooBaggage · 23/10/2025 11:20

@Timetofindme Yep I'm losing just a bit more than that - around 1.5lbs a month. When I look at my tracker, e.g. I only lost 5lbs in August, but 8lbs in September - but it tends to be around 6lbs a month. In my head though I round it up to half a stone as that feels better - so I've got 3 more stone to lose and with Christmas/big holiday in January, I'm reckoning I should be there by about June/July next year!

Oh - I've just realised I'm losing 1.5lb a week. Doh. Maths was never my strong point - ignore me!! 🙄

Hopefully the increase in dosage will give your body a kick start!

Thanks for the new thread Moo, just checking in.

i have some crepey skin top of thighs and arms a bit, lots of people say it improves with time so hoping for that. I do exercise, and use a firming moisturiser when I remember 😬

Reginaphalangeeeee · 23/10/2025 11:51

Wow that is great! I’m at 1/2lbs a week at the moment 🙄

RobinEllacotStrike · 23/10/2025 13:15

44 kg down (over 15 months) and I do have loose skin especially- top of arms, belly, inner thigh, bottom, neck, & breasts are a bit deflated..

It could be better, it could be worse.

There is no way I would ever consider surgery.

I see my arms the most and I do think things are slowly improving but it is hard to know for sure.

I am 57 & have spent decardes obese and/or morbidly obese. Loose skin is my reminder (never forget), my medal, my reward - I only have loose skin because I spent decades very overweight and now I have lost most of the unneeded unwanted fat.

My vainity might not like my loose skin, but when I see it I celebrate it as a measure of what I have done, how far I have come, & the changes I need to keep in my life.

alltablenochairs · 23/10/2025 13:25

Oh my God we're back again (anyone else remember the Backstreet Boys???)

As for loose skin @alwaysscared the only person who really gets to see it is DH. As I'm coming close to 40kg down there's a reasonable amount of it. However as we have been married 18 years I couldn't care less what he thinks. Wish my bloody boobs would shrink though!

While I'm by no means a modest dresser I dont really do the whole showing my flesh thing either. I cant think of a situation where I would need to show anyone anything. Even if anyone commented I would probably tell them to mind their own business. If you're asking because of your upcoming surgery then theyve seen absolutely everything and the chances of anyone commenting are remote.

If and when I get to my goal (dont have one yet) would I have surgery? No. I would see it as a reminder of just how far I have come.

alwaysscared · 23/10/2025 14:18

Im not bothered what other people think of my loose skin, but I really hate it myself and would love to have it removed!

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 23/10/2025 14:25

Having lost 5 stone and 8lbs since November 24 I have loose skin mainly stomach and anrms, and now thighs. But I have spent the 25 years being obese or morbidly obese which at the age of 60 means my skin is not going to ping back I can now exercise so much more easily so I am trying to tone up and I am hoping that over time there maybe some slight improvement. I still have 8lbs to go to reach a healthy BMI which I am hoping will be before Christmas unless I hit another plateau.

HumBumBum · 23/10/2025 16:57

Hi, thanks for the new thread, just checking in with the realisation that if I lost half my starting weight, I’d still be in normal BMI.

That’s quite shocking isn’t it? I was double a normal sized person!

(SW 245lbs)

InfoSecInTheCity · 23/10/2025 18:31

i would need a 360 body lift to get rid of loose skin and don’t see that happening, it’s easily covered and I’ve earned it with a lifetime of obesity/morbid obesity so just living with it.

That’s what I had to do, 50% body weight lost, I have lost a total of 135lb from my highest weight and I now weight 135 (ish) lbs

Zebracat · 23/10/2025 21:48

I don’t really have loose skin except on my belly and that’s more from pregnancies. But I’ve only lost 3 stone so maybe thats to come

GoingDownDown · 24/10/2025 07:14

I can see loose skin approaching me. Can’t imagine surgery will ever be a realistic option for me, so I’ll just have to roll with it! Still massive benefits to losing weight so I’m just ignoring it for now.

Edit: oh crap I forgot to switch to my usual username for these posts!

gimmemounjaro · 24/10/2025 07:36

@OverNotOver I’ve done that before - you can ask MN to change the username for this post, otherwise you’ll have to use it for the rest of the thread

Sam187 · 24/10/2025 12:17

@MooBaggage thanks for the new thread!

@InfoSecInTheCity you looked amazing for your work event!!

@alwaysscared good luck with the op, hope it happens this time for you.

I'm back in action - 2.5lbs down this week so far 🎉. The plateau is over. She says after 6wks travelling here there and everywhere, and currently sitting in an airport bar waiting on another flight haha!

Week 22, 39 yo, 5'7, 1st week of 6.25mg
SW 119.9kg
CW 102.7kg
Interim GW 98kg
Overall GW somewhere nearer the 80s kg mark - unsure yet.

alltablenochairs · 24/10/2025 12:26

Found my old MJ pens earlier. To date I have lost 39kg (86lbs, 6 stone). I started with a BMI of 45 and I currently have a BMI of 31.9. Lots of liquid left in the pens because I don't 5th dose.

Still got a long way to go though. Even though I dont have an end goal yet, another 21.5kg would give me a BMI at the top range of the healthy weight band. I would have lost around 60kg in total. To put it in perspective my 15 year old weighs 57kg.

Based on my current trajectory that should be in around 8 months time. However life isnt linear so who knows?
