I think maybe this is my old ‘set weight’ I've been loitering around 16st10/16st11 for a month now. what did others do to get through their set weight barriers? Did you change anything up? Or did you just stick with it?

ive not looked at prices. I’ll be continuing regardless. But I am glad that I’ve got a spare pen in hand so at the very least it will postpone the price hike for me.

Those are the current prices, but perhaps they are already in line with international prices so won't be affected by the increase, I am not sure. Either way i cant afford it, even if i could persuade my dr to prescribe it for me. It will only be for the wealthy going forward, unless other companies come along and flood the market with cheaper alternatives.

I’m on this thread and MJ since March but don’t post much. Have had many ups and downs but have read every single post and have taken much comfort and support from people’s experiences.

I’m in Ireland and paying €368 per 5mg pen plus €35 online doctor consultation fee basically every 5 weeks. The pharmacy said 7.5mg is €495 ish some weeks ago so I have held back from progressing to that dose.

Over 4 weeks the last 3 months I loose about 4lbs. Some weeks I’m up a pound and others I maintain then drop maybe 3. Starting weight was 14 stone mid march and this morning I was 11st 11lbs. the first 2 months plus were horrific with side effects but the similar stories on here helped me stick with it.

Fairly slow loss but the difference to my health is enormous, back & hip issues here. I’m worried about managing post MJ as there is no maintenance programme offered from the online doctor service. Also worried about getting the last stone off at this relatively low dose. If anyone has suggestions for Ireland with suppliers or maintenance please share.

I received a 2.5mg pen today, ordered last week before all this. I’ve never moved up the dose. I’m hoping there will be clarity on prices ahead of 1st Sept, but I’ll also try and order another before then if I can. It would seem at the moment that the increases at the lower doses will be less extreme?

I’ve got 7-10lbs to go but I’ve been taking it slow… so that is 2 months probably.

New thread. Gutted about the price increase. I have 4 unopened pens in my fridge due to ordering bundles. Hoping that will take me to goal or as close as possible then will go down to 2.5mg or 5 for the foreseeable depending on price.

Hi all, i dont post much but started March 21st. I'd lost 3 stone but im dreading returning from holiday to see the damage. im think I've at least put on 8-10 pounds. I really hope not but I can feel it 😫 with price increases, I need to start with the golden dose. I have at least 4 stone to go. Where can I get needles? short ones like the MJ needles? can anyone post a link please?

Someone in the last thread (can’t remember who) had a friend who was saying they looked gaunt etc and said alright Janice calm down.

I also have had 2 Janice’s tell me to stop losing weight as I do not look well but they are my daughters and were told to be quiet.

The stall or your body getting used to the new normal, I have had one of them and for nearly 2 months, I lost and put on the same 3lbs for weeks, and then just sat at the same weight for weeks.

I did everything possible ate more, ate less, exercised, did not exercise, drank more water, drank less water, upped protein nothing changed and then I just started to drop weight again. Hang in there and you will start to loss again. It’s really messed with my thoughts but it happens and you will come out of the other side.

@GameOfJones I take 3.75 off a 5mg pen and feel comfortable going over the 30 days, I keep it refrigerated. The pens were originally designed to do 1 dose every 6 days hence the 5 doses per pen plus a little extra for priming which gets you to the 30 days. They have not been tested over that hence why they cannot advise to use it over 30 days. Friend who is a doctor has confirmed she would be confident going over the 30 days and to ensure that the liquid is clear not cloudy.

I am happy with the risk but others would not be.

Weigh day for me only 5 days since my last weigh day as with it being summer I'm out of routine so just weighing when I'm in a boots! A pound off but I'm on my period so am pleased with that. esp as it's summer hols so we naturally have more days out/treat meals/takeaway etc

For price increase I've got 3 doses left of my current pen then ordered one more. I'm currently on 7.5 but only taking 6.25 at the moment. I think with the price increase I may have to drop to 5mg I'll see what the prices are down September. I'm also trying to up my hours at work to afford MJ!

Has anyone tried Mysimba in the past? I’m considering it for when I am leaving MJ cold turkey in a few weeks

I’m happy to plod along for the last couple of st but I’m worried about the insane hunger that many describe getting when going cold turkey from a high dose..

@Bipaloss I looked up the ingredients of that and it put me off somewhat. One's an anti-opioid-addiction med (naltrexone) and one's an anti-depressant (buproprion) particularly used to combat SAD.

Unfortunately not just been told to add my email to be notified when stock comes in.

That's really rubbish, really hope mine don't do the same. They just say out of stock and on my order page it says due 24th.

Oh, only asking as I saw some prices on Reddit and they were higher than those ones and it said lower prices for members. Maybe I'm confused it's all very confusing at the moment!

I’d seen MySimba suggested and had a look for some reviews because I’d wondered if it would work for me. I’m on a dose of 2.5mg and the MJ doesn’t stop me eating normal meals but has mostly switched off desire to consume biscuits or chocolate with every cup of coffee so I’m getting a daily 500 calorie deficit between that and exercising and it’s bringing my weight down slowly.

I found various threads on forums and it sounds like people have a lot of side effects but the OP of one post stuck with it for a month and even after that found that they were less likely to snack. My weight previously stayed relatively static but went up in jumps after Christmas/holidays when there are lots of treats around (and no off switch in my head) so I’m thinking that if I can crack the sweet tooth, then I might manage to maintain a lower weight. I think I’d like to talk to my doctor about using it first though as there is much less information readily available compared to MJ. I’d not dismiss it for its active ingredients yet as they could be what my brain needs long term.

Anyway, I’ve got a few more doses left and a three week holiday where I’m not taking my pen with me so I’ll see whether my willpower and new habits will stand up to temptation whilst I’m away without the benefit of MJ in my system.
