@Fairfaxandflavori plan to keep checking in. I really need this to be a lifelong solution.

RuthEvershedforPM · 25/08/2025 21:19

Likewise asking you all to keep posting. I find it all so helpful x

Fatmumslim01 · 25/08/2025 21:53

Another one asking the "goalies" to keep posting as I'm interested in everyone approach to maintenance

EchoNova · 26/08/2025 09:12

Beinthepresent · 25/08/2025 14:43

@EchoNova is the last dose the extra in the pen or your fourth dose?
If it's the 5th dose I think I would be tempted to take 7.5 mg so not as big a drop then take 2.5mg the week after which takes you to 1st September and as soon as the next pen arrives take some more part way through that week. That way you are not completely without. If it's your 4th dose buy some needles and extra the last dose to buy some more time.

Yes it's my 4th dose. That's a good idea! Thanks!

EchoNova · 26/08/2025 11:22

So after my panic yesterday i went onto MyBMI this morning and they had 10mg in stock so I sent in my consultation. They have just got back to me looking for a photo and have advised that now I am at target weight and my BMI is 23 they are reducing me down to 7.5mg for maintenance. As I'm still losing weight on the 10mg.

SW: 13stone 7lbs
CW: (9stone 13lbs)
(2.5mg x 1 month, 5mg x 1 month , 7.5mg x 1month, 10mg x 3 months)

mumofmanydaughterofone · 26/08/2025 21:07

I think I'm out ☹️
I have 12lb to reach a healthy BMI and 2 pens (about to start one) - I can't afford the pens when the price rises so I'll be seeing where I get to in 8 weeks and then will try to do it alone.
It has honestly been life changing - so far from my very heaviest I've lost 50lb so I'm a lot lot healthier now.
Bit sad I have to finish this way as I would have liked to get to goal and then taper down to try to make maintaining a bit easier.
Will keep checking in - currently 159lb and aiming for 140lb ultimately but healthy BMI will be 147.
Good luck to all you lovely people - I sincerely hope you can get where you want to be xxxx

Lollzi86 · 26/08/2025 21:34

eugh. Had a rubbish day and haven’t jabbed in 9 days so the snack attacks started today and I caved as also got PMT. I’ve actually only consumed about 1700 calories, but I feel so so bloated and ill! Will not jab tonight as worried I’ll end up on loo all night but will be sensible tomorrow with food and then jab tomorrow night. That will be the last jab until I return from holiday on 17th sept. Will decide at that point if I stick with MJ if I can afford to, or whether I move to wegovy.

Spondoolie · 27/08/2025 07:47

Whoop.

Hit 3.5 stone today which is beyond a miracle as i have been on four holidays this summer 🤣

I just worked out the monthly breakdown which I haven’t done before

March - 8
April - 6
May - 11
June - 11
July - 5
Aug - 4 (so far)

SW - 14
CW - 10.5
GW - 8.5

I will be staying on mj one way or another. This has transformed my life and I am so grateful

northernlight20 · 27/08/2025 08:32

jab and weigh day today. Jabbed 12.5mg as I feel I’m getting very hungry and losses have slowed a bit.
sw 114.4kg
cw 89.7kg
really want to be under 14st, hopefully by next week. Hope everyone has a good week.

Aboutmeabouttime · 27/08/2025 09:01

Just coming to whinge really… in a stall, not lost anything over August but I guess good news is not gained either. I think this is a set point for me, not been under 11st for a long time and never for long…. Hoping Sept return to more routines will help… just keep swimming and all that.

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 27/08/2025 15:08

I have been feeling a little deflated just like my bum, so I taken this photo after posting the same ring photo in April.

It just goes to show I was fat everywhere!

Wow @TheSpoonyNavyReader that's an amazing difference well done!

I'm finally starting to see the difference, a couple of times Ive bought my usual size 20 clothes and they are too big so I must be getting smaller (33 pound lost). And today I received some jeans off vinted that I was expecting to be too small but hopefully I'll slim into them but they were too big! They are going straight back on vinted 😂

Still a long way to go but BMI is 34 down from 40 which is really good.

I'm sure like most of us im worried about the price hikes. I'm going to tey for more hours at work but it's not guaranteed. Also even if I do get more hours and it's easier to afford MJ going forward, I find it hard to justify spending £200-250 a month on myself. When MJ was more like £100-125 it was ok but almost doubled that seems a lot just for me. DH doesn't get that to spend on himself as we couldn't afford it. But I need it, nothing else has worked like this before and I don't want to switch to wegovy incase it doesn't work as well, possibly for maintenance I would consider it but that's a long way off.

This was the photo from 29th of April, also checked my BMI 31.4 1st March now 23.3.

I have been feeling down as it took 3 months to lose a stone, but I did lose very first at the beginning.

I am also wondering what happened to all the posters at the beginning one really stood out (to me) I hope that they are still losing weight or have done a name change and still posting on here.

I wonder if someone could share what kind of needles/syringes they are using for the so called golden dose? I have never tried to get it before but with the prices sky rocketing I think i would like to get every drop out.

Puddingpiper · 27/08/2025 19:52

1ml Unifix Luer Lock Syringe × 1

Thanks

So my SW - 12st 11 I think it was
CW - 10st 5
TW - 9st 7

im on 7.5mg. I have got a whole new 7.5 in the fridge. I have just ordered a 5 and going to try and titrate down now I think. The main thing I’m concerned about is my hair loss, I really hope it stops falling out soon, it’s been about 6 weeks I think and it’s looking so sparse. I remember at the start my nails were so brittle but now they are really strong so I’m hoping it’s just a lag in the nutrition shock? I also had pretty much constant diarrhoea for like 4 months so presumably that will have affected nutrition.

have we got many / any posters who have stopped MJ now and have any tips for keeping weight off?

GameOfJones · 28/08/2025 08:24

So I'm back from my all inclusive holiday and have gained 3lbs. A bit annoyed as it's just tipped me back into the overweight BMI but at the same time I was eating and drinking a lot more than I have been at home and I know it'll come back off quickly now I'm back in a more normal routine. The good thing is I felt so much happier in a swimsuit and I've looked at the holiday photos and for the first time in forever I feel I look nice.

SW pre MJ: 15st 1lb

SW on MJ: 14st

CW: 11st 1lb

GW: 10st 7lbs

Interesting to read all the chat about maintenance. I have stayed on 5mg and don't notice any effect now from the jabs. I have 5 more doses and am then going to be done and go it alone. I'm feeling ready to be done with it and similar to a PP, I'm now a comfortable size 12 and feeling happier and more confident. I definitely will keep posting though as I think I'll need the accountability and support!

Now to try to lose that holiday weight......

soupforbrains · 28/08/2025 10:31

It’s interesting to hear that a lot of people are now ‘fed up’ and ‘done’ with it all. I don’t feel that way at all and I wonder how much of that relates to the fact that I am still so very much further from goal than most of you.

I’ve lost over 3stone so far but I have a total loss of 8 stone targeted so I’m not even half way. I don’t feel particularly bothered by side effects. Although I do experience them, though I wonder if the fact that I’m used to living with IBS anyway makes a difference to my tolerance of those.

The availability and price changes are a concern. But I’m very lucky that I can afford to absorb the price changes, although I will be working out the most cost efficient way to do things. Since I titrate my doses anyway (currently taking 2x4mg for a weekly dose of 8mg) i may as well just work out which pens are the most cost efficient £/mg and eek them out my own way.

Fairfaxandflavor · 28/08/2025 10:52

@soupforbrains glad to hear you're feeling good and on track, I think a lot of people are indeed more or less at target, so feeling they have done the hard work, me included, I would have liked to stay on it forever at a small dose but all this hoo ha has made me jaded as to how it's sold and managed, clearly for profit and nothing else imo.
I would ideally buy a 15 pen and manage it myself and that would possibly be affordable, but the pharmacies wouldn't allow for that which is why I have a supply in the fridge. Once that's gone who knows.
I do feel the best I've felt in years I think it's a marvellous drug for women of my age, it's reduced inflammation, as well as a host of other things and I would like for that to carry on, but I was struggling to afford it beforehand, I definitely couldn't now, not in the ' official' prescribed way.

soupforbrains · 28/08/2025 11:18

Well…. @Fairfaxandflavornot sure about the ‘on track’ part since I’m struggling with a stall which has lasted all month so far. But I definitely don’t feel jaded enough by the meds to give up. And I absolutely still feel the benefit.

Ingangoolie · 28/08/2025 11:19

@soupforbrains not done here either, I’m a lb off 3 stone loss, have another 1st 4lb to go and it has slowed, another 1lb loss this week, and some weeks I’m staying the same weight.

I’m ok with that as i am building muscle and I have 3 x 5mg pens in fridge and manageable side effects. I will continue on 2.5mg a week as it’s slow but I continue to lose. So that’s me through to February and I will go down to 1.25mg a week when I’ve hit target, so that may even extend pens to a full year (I started on 22 March). I would’ve ideally wanted to stay on a maintenance dose for another year and would’ve likely tried but for the price.

Fatmumslim01 · 28/08/2025 11:46

Hey @soupforbrains I'm nowhere near done so solidarity 🙂 I'm 2stone5 down out of a hopefully 5 stone. I was hoping to stay on this for life as the non weight loss benefits have been amazing and I'm worried if I stop they will come back but it's going to be a struggle to afford the higher prices, I'm hoping to get mote hours at work to afford it but there's always other things that the money could be "better" used on i find it hard to justify spending so much money on myself each month.

However the non weight loss benefits so far have been my head is so calm and less cluttered, Im less anxious, I love the way I see food now it has no emotional hold over me. My bowel issue has cleared up, my pelvic adhesion pain has gone, my eczema has gone that I was using steroid cream for, my plantar faciitis went very quickly on MJ so isn't just due to weight loss, my periods are lighter I don't need as much prescription medication for my period as I used to, my early stage gum disease has disappeared and my under active thyroid is getting better and I can take less thyroid medicine now.

Seeing that written down altogether is quite a shock! The weight loss is almost a bonus at this point 😂
