Welcome to thread 12 fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we enjoy a far more comfortable Summer significantly lighter. We now wear ALL the damn shorts 💪🏻

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W35 D2 and on my fourth 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10.6lbs
GW 9st 7lb
Total loss so far 56.4 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

SW 17st
CW 12.2
GW 11.7ish?

Another decent loss again his week which I'm really happy with.

I'm slightly concerned about the summer hols, which start today for us. I'm used to a 2 hour school run walk (half hour each way) as a minimum basic exercise and the more structured day. Also I'm dropping from 15mg to 12.5mg as I've been getting some slight stomach pains so as a combination I don't know how its going to go.

Would there be a way you could keep the routine just without the actual school drop off bit? A mate did that during lockdown - she kept her morning routine the same, as if she was heading to the office, but just used the time for a walk near home instead.

We'll definitely get out for walks everyday (dog) but it's probably more likely to be just one long walk rather than the two spread out over the day. I'm hoping the kids will want to start c25k with me also (although they can probably all run rings around me).

None of us are early risers so I think I'll just miss having already done an hour's walk before 9am everyday which will not happen if we don't have to be anywhere!

I hear you. When she told me about her 'commute' I was theoretically inspired but then remembered I could have an extra hour on bed instead and obviously that won!

I have not posted for a while. I was dispirited by plateaus in Feb and May but kept on going.

H 5ft1
Sw 14st 5 down to 14st pre MJ with willpower alone but was averaging only 0.5lb a week loss
Cw 11st 11.6 whoop under the 12s!
Gw 9st 3 (bmi 24.4) BUT I haven't been less than 10st 3 since my late teens, so let's see. It would be great to be middle of healthy BMI but I cannot see that happening. I was BMI 22.5 at 17ys but only after 2 weeks barely eating from illness.

BMI down to 31.4 from 37, so 30.4lb down on MJ since mid Nov.

Currently on 10mg dose, stayed on 5 and 7.5 a while. Very few side effects and they were worse at lower doses. I drink water and eat prunes to avoid constipation. I am not calorie counting but consciously watching portion sizes, avoiding v unhealthy choices etc I think I will need to start to count as I approach goal weight.

Clothes are now getting weeded out of my wardrobe having gone through tight, to fits as they should, to baggy and shapeless. Moved probably 1.5 dress sizes down in most shops. I was 16-18 and now big 14. Loved fitting into M or comfy L(top) at Uniqlo for new basics. If I could be a 10-12 I think that will be ok for my frame. I am not one of those dainty small-boned short women, probably descended from a pit pony/peasant type rather than a Tinkerbell/Kylie!

NSW - my fitbit strap is M/L and too loose on tightest hole so need to get a new one. Also starting running (again). Last time I was running regularly I was 2st heavier and it was unpleasant. Although I am still working my way up to 5k my knees are feeling so much better and I am confident it will be easier to keep it up and get back to a (slow) 10k as a regular thing rather than 1 off achievement.

My upper arms are very saggy so I need to remember to do arm weights, hoping that sorts them out since I still have at least another 2st to lose and it would be great to be comfortable to wear sleeveless tops and I don't want them any worse. My stomach is saggy but overhang is much less pronounced and the rest is springing back so far. I am in my early 50s and weight loss has coincided with ageing really speeding up esp. my crepey neck even though I avoid sun (fair skin). I am now the weight I was 2 years after my last child, and before the weight really piled on at 40 and stopped responding to previous diet/exercise.

I think I will need to continue into January at least on standard dosing. So a very slow loser.

Well done everyone. It hasn't been a quick fix, that is for sure.

Keep going! You are doing so well 💪 we all lose at different rates so keep the faith. Slow and steady wins the race 🥰

I’ve been reading this page for months and finally I feel I can add significant news….

47 year old female
SW 16.4 18/11/24
CW 13.3 01/07/2025
Goal weight - was 13.5 now 13 stone. Slowwwww and steady 😊

The main thing is though that I’ve just bought a pair of size 12 jeans! What the actual??! I am 5’8 and was pushing an 18 at the start of my journey, I haven’t been a size 12 in 20 years! For the past 4 months I’ve also been hitting the gym pretty hard and my insides are catching up with my outsides (according to the body scanner at the gym).

Hair loss has become a thing over the past couple of months (on quality collagan and iron supplements) and I’ve lost my lovely boobs and round backside, in constant glutes classes trying to build it back up though 💪🏻

Stayed on 2.5 for around 2 months and then 5 the rest of the time, pushed to a 6.25 last week and the suppression is still very strong, although I’m where I want to be I will definitely be on some form of Mounjaro for life, be it a micro dose or a few months on off, absolute wonder drug.

Well done everyone ⭐️⭐️

So lovely to read your significant news and the fact you feel able to join in. Welcome! Awesome losses and enjoy the feeling of your 20year old body size! 🥰

Very, Very happy weigh in. I have joined the 4 Stone Club!

Height 5'8", I'm in my mid 50's
SW 16st 5lb
CW 12st 2
Total weight lost 4st 3lb
Target 11.10 (A healthy BMI)

2nd week on 12.5 mg.
I Didn't weigh last week & Ive lost 4 lb over the 2 weeks, which is hugely surprising as I usually lose 1-1.5 a week. I had been getting food noise and hunger back, on days 6 & &7, so going up to 12.5mg was a very good move.

@AlwaysTimeForWine (Great user name) big well done on getting to a healthy BMI. I agree, at the start of this I was in serious doubt as to whether I could do it this time. here I am, 5 stone lighter, packing a bikini to take on holiday, and only 6lb off a healthy BMI
I am so sorry people are making unhelpful comments about your wonderful new body. Ive been getting the same, and it really annoys me! However Ive just read 'Let Them' by Mel Robbins, so I am trying to put into practice her words of wisdom, and just ignore them.

We are off to Italy on Saturday for 2 weeks. Now that I am packing smaller dresses etc I can get more in the suitcase (The Thread title couldn't be more appropriate @Mounjaropen )
Plan of acton is to relax with a a few glasses of wine, but stay off the bread and anything with sugar in. I have overindulged on too many holidays in the past and come back feeling big, bloated & unhappy. I have no desire to do that this time and am confident that with the support of MJ I can stick to my plan.
My indulgence now is to wear my long ignored 'slimmer' clothes, a few newbies I have added to my wardrobe, and that bikini! 😁😁😂

Woohoo! 🥳 4 stone badge for you!

Have the most fantastic holiday! Sounds heavenly 🥰

Hello all. So great to hear how well everyone is doing!

W33 D4
48 yrs old
5ft 9”
SW 16st 5 - BMI 33.6
CW 12st 0.4 - BMI 24.9 🎉
Total loss - 60.6 lbs

Half a stone of that was pre MJ, so on MJ itself I have lost about 22% of my weight which is amazing. I never thought I’d get this far.

I am really trying to get below 12 stone but my body is fighting it. I’m increasing my dose steadily to try and crack it, and need to go up to 7mg this week I think. Currently on 6.5mg and have never been any higher than this. I can’t handle feeling sick at work, or my sport being affected so I’ve been slow and steady. I’ve managed to go 11 weeks without any gains, but it feels like I’ve been faffing around this weight for weeks 😩 In reality I haven’t, but I’m impatient now to get to target and maintain it. I want to be there!!

But I will get there. I’m so pleased my BMI has dipped into healthy (this morning anyway 😂) but I’d love to be 11 stone 8lbs. That would make my BMI 24, and I can aim to maintain my weight below 12 stone but cannot get below it at the moment. It’s driving me bonkers.

People are also starting to be rude and telling me not to lose any more weight, someone told me I looked ‘positively skeletal’. 😦 What a bitch. I’m 5ft 9”, size 14 and have size 8 feet. I have shoulders and hips and sturdy thighs from my sport. The issue is I’ve lost weight from my face and boobs, you can see my collarbones and my shoulders are so much more defined as I’m in the gym a lot. And the skin is more saggy. So I definitely don’t feel as attractive as I thought I would 😂 My face and wrinkles miss the plumping effect of fat!!! I definitely won’t be getting anywhere near a BMI of 22 as I just think I won’t suit it. My muscle % is high so I reckon the BMI is skewed a bit by that.

Ignore the naysayers. Keep going. You know it’s jealousy because you are (rightly) getting the attention you deserve!

Keep going, awesome result 💪🙌

I still have the ability to put on 5lbs in a day 🤦🏻‍♀️
yesterday’s concert definitely tested mj - sweets in the car, cocktails in cans, massive cheese burger (which dh finished for me) all made for a rather explosive moment in the bathroom this morning. I now cannot stand the thought of anything sweet, so hoping that lasts a bit. Car journey should have been 2 hours… it was 5 hours 30 there and 2 hours 45 home. Very tired and back on track with food choices.

I’m not saying I’m on a diet anymore, I’m making better food choices 😆

That is impressive 😂

Hope the concert was fun at least?

Can you get the kids out on bikes/scooters while you walk? Or do a scavenger hunt to keep them amused as you walk?

PresidentBarklett · 05/07/2025 01:23

Good week. Another 2lbs off and I think the thing that I've noticed thr most impact in is my performance in work. My confidence is through the roof. I've bought some (cheap!) new work wear in styles I know suit me and I've striding around feeling all competent and professional in ctailored cigarette trousers and tucked in tops. I even dud a French tuck the other day and didn't look a complete twat.

The effect its had on my imposter syndrome is off the chart. I'm a teacher, and I've always been competent there, but I'm also a SENCO and a member of SLT and the feeling that I was going to be caught out was strong and pervasive. But today I chaired an incredibly difficult meeting with assurance and, dare I say it, something approaching aplomb. I feel like I'm taking myself seriously. It's unprecedented and amazing.

Hope everyone else is also reaping the increased confidence benefits!

That's a great tip @Mounjaropen - I haven’t heard the phrase ‘functional mobility training’ before. I’ve been doing a lot of treadmill walking and swimming but will look at what else there is. Pvolve might not be for me though and I’d never have the devotion you do!

Hey started November 24, not been following the threads. Had lost weight on my own (3st) had put on 7lbs and lost it - twice so decided to go on mounjaro. Lost an additional 2 1/2 stone on mounjaro. Almost at goal weight.

Now down to a size 10/12. I need to buy clothes. Everything is too big but dont know what to buy . I keep opting for the same style as when I was 16st but it just doesn't suit my shape now. Nothing does. Any one else having this problem ?

When i say problem, its not really, i just need to learn to shop for my new body shape

I think I know what you mean as I was dress shopping yesterday and went ‘hey you don’t need to look for figure flattering clothes only anymore’

At a bigger size I would:

  • clothes with good coverage, eg dresses and tops with sleeves only
  • Skirts down to the knee or longer
  • Clothes that emphasised my hourglass shape/ curves as to not make me look bigger
  • Dark colours, certainly nothing white/cream

As a result my wardrobe is full off long-sleeve belted midaxi dresses, long-sleeved wrap dresses with cleavage, long-sleeved tops etc

What I’m buying at size 10:

  • short short-sleeved dresses that show off my limbs, happy for them to be a little loose around body
  • sleeveless tops
  • really fashion forward pieces that don’t even flatter, more androgynous items like tank tops
  • lighter colours, for the first time I’m wearing white, baby pink etc

I’d say pick up a few fashion magazines, check out some styles they’re showcasing and just see what really catches your eye/ what you find cool.

Also identify a few brands you like on Instagram and follow them/ search for fashion items there, the algorithm will start bombarding you with ads you’ll actually like.

Then buy on Vinted as you may still end up too small for them 😁

Case point this dress from Nobody’s Child, the old me would have never worn it, no-brainer for new me.

Love that little dress.
I'm still a size 12-14 and I'm finding that what I can wear hasn't really changed. Mainly because I'm still a 32J (was 36JJ 33lb ago). But basically everything I wear is determined by what fits my boobs!

I cried in the fitting room in m&s today as the size 14 linen trousers fitted. I’ve not been in a 14 on the bottom since uni. Of course the length/size/colour combo I wanted wasn’t in stock so had to order online anyway.
