Welcome to thread 12 fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we enjoy a far more comfortable Summer significantly lighter. We now wear ALL the damn shorts 💪🏻

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W35 D2 and on my fourth 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10.6lbs
GW 9st 7lb
Total loss so far 56.4 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

congratulations on the loss!

Well no discernible difference on the tummy front, but I do think my face is responding. I have weekly treatments booked from now until 👰🏼🤵🥰

I didn’t get any email from Oushk after my call so I don’t know how I initiate the maintenance programme and MedExpress haven’t dispatched my next pen yet…did you get anything?

I got an email with 3 discount codes for my next 3 pens.

Pumpkinforever · 03/07/2025 08:03

@jay55 @lovealongbath I will be trundling gently downwards till November. Ideally would like to lose another stone and a half/ 2 stone.

Have got my Oushk maintenance call booked for end of September

Mounjaropen · 03/07/2025 07:14

I’ll be here.

I Absolutely need long term accountability else I’ll fall off the wagon - and this group provides that so thank you all 🥰This is by no means my first rodeo losing significant weight/ putting it all back on. Who else has said “please tell me if I ever start piling the weight back on” and then got promptly cross when your DP/DH/mum/kids/sibling has done exactly as you asked? 😱

Yup. Guilty as charged. 👩‍⚖️

Claudette7934 · 03/07/2025 07:29

I’ve lost 5 stone!!!

I’m 5’4
SW 14 stone 1
CW 9 stone 1

I'm not a regular weigher, only do it every month or so and I haven’t really had an end goal to aim for, just wanted to get back to being me. I’m still a stone off the weight I was until my mid 30s but I’m now 50 and not sure 8 stone is realistic or even attractive any more.

I wonder if I’m reaching the end of this journey.

5 stone klaxon! Woop woop! ✨️

Mounjaropen · 03/07/2025 06:43

Hope you are feeling better today?

I’m still in pain. But not all the time. It seems to be worse between 10 and 2 when I’ve eaten. It’s better in the evenings. The hospital are going to call me again today and said if I’m still in pain I can go back for bloods and a scan.

SerenePeer · 03/07/2025 08:23

Morning all. GI symptoms continued last night with quite the clear out, making me think it's actually a bug and not mounjaro...both dc had a sudden onset tummy bug at the weekend so makes sense I caught it too.

Anyway, thought I'd do a proper check in as it's been ages since I posted my stats and it's easy to forget how far we've come:

Height: 5 ft 7.5
SW 15 st 0.6lbs, SBMI 34
CW 11 st 9lbs CBMI 25.6
GW undecided...maybe 10 st 7?
Total loss 3st 5lbs (47lbs!! 💪🏻)
3lbs away from 50lbs loss 🤯

My original goal weight was 13 stone...then 12 stone and I never believed I'd even get to 13 stone! So to now be considering 10 stone something is just mind blowing.

If you haven't looked at all your stats in a while, I highly recommend it. 40lbs is an average human leg so I've lost a limb and then a bit more. 60lbs is an elephant 🍆! Might have to aim for that just so I can reply 🐘🍆 whenever anyone asks how much I've lost 😂

Oh @Cantbesure hope you get some answers today. Do you think you'll go in for a scan? Just to be sure? (Contrary to your name!)

Cantbesure · 03/07/2025 08:35

I’m hoping I’m in pain when they call as that will make it easy. Otherwise I’d feel guilty about waiting time and resources. It would be really good to be checked out properly though as it’s having a big impact on daily activities. I’ve not been able to exercise for over two weeks firstly with the vertigo and now the stomach pains.

MagnoliaTreePetals · 03/07/2025 08:48

Congratulations @Claudette7934 brilliant, brilliant achievement.

@Hundredthmillionthdiet can you take a patient, enthusiastic friend or family member with you and go somewhere that has a great range. (John Lewis, M&S etc) Try on everything they suggest in every colour. I took my daughter with me and she was brilliant, bought some things that looked fabulous on but I would have walked past without a second glance if she hadn't been there to pick things out and encourage me.
Most important thing is to get correctly fitting underwear before hand, clothes look so much better if everything is in the right place underneath! 😁

Good luck with the RF. Re Oushk - I am with them already but what she said was that they had special ordering codes when you are on maintenance so I would maybe message or ring them when you are ready to order.

Thanks - I have emailed them this morning!

Thank you for the new thread @Mounjaropen . I'm checking in. I've got my maintenance call booked for 15 July. I've struggled for the last few weeks and been eating and drinking more than normal. i've put a couple of pounds on, on 7.5 dose but it see to lave lost the supression that it used to give me after jab day. Now panicking about moving forward. Saturday is jabe day & I'm going to cut out all carbs that have crept into daily food. @MounjNewb how difficult have you fond maintenance? It's scaring me.

Keep a food diary on MFP and try and work out if it is emotional eating, boredom, a sugar crash or general slipping back into old habits. Look after your protein intake and water and if you do have a 'snaccident' then offset it with upping your physical output. All is not lost, you can do maintenance 💪

Hello all. So great to hear how well everyone is doing!

W33 D4
48 yrs old
5ft 9”
SW 16st 5 - BMI 33.6
CW 12st 0.4 - BMI 24.9 🎉
Total loss - 60.6 lbs

Half a stone of that was pre MJ, so on MJ itself I have lost about 22% of my weight which is amazing. I never thought I’d get this far.

I am really trying to get below 12 stone but my body is fighting it. I’m increasing my dose steadily to try and crack it, and need to go up to 7mg this week I think. Currently on 6.5mg and have never been any higher than this. I can’t handle feeling sick at work, or my sport being affected so I’ve been slow and steady. I’ve managed to go 11 weeks without any gains, but it feels like I’ve been faffing around this weight for weeks 😩 In reality I haven’t, but I’m impatient now to get to target and maintain it. I want to be there!!

But I will get there. I’m so pleased my BMI has dipped into healthy (this morning anyway 😂) but I’d love to be 11 stone 8lbs. That would make my BMI 24, and I can aim to maintain my weight below 12 stone but cannot get below it at the moment. It’s driving me bonkers.

People are also starting to be rude and telling me not to lose any more weight, someone told me I looked ‘positively skeletal’. 😦 What a bitch. I’m 5ft 9”, size 14 and have size 8 feet. I have shoulders and hips and sturdy thighs from my sport. The issue is I’ve lost weight from my face and boobs, you can see my collarbones and my shoulders are so much more defined as I’m in the gym a lot. And the skin is more saggy. So I definitely don’t feel as attractive as I thought I would 😂 My face and wrinkles miss the plumping effect of fat!!! I definitely won’t be getting anywhere near a BMI of 22 as I just think I won’t suit it. My muscle % is high so I reckon the BMI is skewed a bit by that.

I hope the thread continues when you are all at maintenance as I still have 55lb to lose to get to normal BMI so I’m here for a while 😫

Thank you for the new thread @Mounjaropen . I'm checking in. I've got my maintenance call booked for 15 July. Now panicking about moving forward. Saturday is jabe day & I'm going to cut out all carbs that have crept into daily food. @MounjNewb how difficult have you fond maintenance? It's scaring me.

To be honest, fine, but for me it's basically staying on a reasonable MJ dose. I am content if this is the case forever. The peak dose I got to when losing was 9mg. I stepped down gradually to 5mg in the first few weeks of maintenance - the eating crept up, but I was maintaining OK and would take 6mg if I felt nervous about drift. Now I've decided to lose just a few more lbs, I have upped to 7.5mg - but think this will only be for a few weeks and then I'll step down again.....

I will simply play tunes with dosing depending on how I feel. Oushk are fine with this from my conversation with them - I'm on the Conti plan.

MounjNewb · 03/07/2025 11:39

SerenePeer · 03/07/2025 08:01

I got an email with 3 discount codes for my next 3 pens.

Me too - just tried ordering my second pen from Oushk and the 2nd and 3rd discount codes in my email didn't work. I WhatsApped Bilal at Oushk (who I had my first call with and who runs the mens support group on WhatsApp) and had a new email with codes within 5 minutes. Simply awesome service.

TeenLifeMum · 03/07/2025 11:53

I still have the ability to put on 5lbs in a day 🤦🏻‍♀️
yesterday’s concert definitely tested mj - sweets in the car, cocktails in cans, massive cheese burger (which dh finished for me) all made for a rather explosive moment in the bathroom this morning. I now cannot stand the thought of anything sweet, so hoping that lasts a bit. Car journey should have been 2 hours… it was 5 hours 30 there and 2 hours 45 home. Very tired and back on track with food choices.

I’m not saying I’m on a diet anymore, I’m making better food choices 😆

Same amount to go as me similar time frame - hoping to be done losing by Christmas

evilharpy · 03/07/2025 12:19

To add to the stat updates, I got an email today from Nutracheck saying I have lost 5 1/2 stone and I hadn't even realised!

Also tried on the last of my clothes that didn't fit - my all time favourite size 10 chinos from George (years ago) that were an amazing fit. They fit perfectly again! Plus my much loved Ted Baker coat although it's not really the time of year for it. There is nothing left in the cupboard to slim into! Anything smaller has long gone as it was never sustainable to be much smaller than this.

BMI today is 25.1.

MagnoliaTreePetals · 03/07/2025 12:30

Very, Very happy weigh in. I have joined the 4 Stone Club!

Height 5'8", I'm in my mid 50's
SW 16st 5lb
CW 12st 2
Total weight lost 4st 3lb
Target 11.10 (A healthy BMI)

2nd week on 12.5 mg.
I Didn't weigh last week & Ive lost 4 lb over the 2 weeks, which is hugely surprising as I usually lose 1-1.5 a week. I had been getting food noise and hunger back, on days 6 & &7, so going up to 12.5mg was a very good move.

@AlwaysTimeForWine (Great user name) big well done on getting to a healthy BMI. I agree, at the start of this I was in serious doubt as to whether I could do it this time. here I am, 5 stone lighter, packing a bikini to take on holiday, and only 6lb off a healthy BMI
I am so sorry people are making unhelpful comments about your wonderful new body. Ive been getting the same, and it really annoys me! However Ive just read 'Let Them' by Mel Robbins, so I am trying to put into practice her words of wisdom, and just ignore them.

We are off to Italy on Saturday for 2 weeks. Now that I am packing smaller dresses etc I can get more in the suitcase (The Thread title couldn't be more appropriate @Mounjaropen )
Plan of acton is to relax with a a few glasses of wine, but stay off the bread and anything with sugar in. I have overindulged on too many holidays in the past and come back feeling big, bloated & unhappy. I have no desire to do that this time and am confident that with the support of MJ I can stick to my plan.
My indulgence now is to wear my long ignored 'slimmer' clothes, a few newbies I have added to my wardrobe, and that bikini! 😁😁😂

jay55 · 03/07/2025 12:42

Congrats @MagnoliaTreePetalsand @evilharpyits dropping off the pair of you.
