Morning all

Week 37
SW 17'10
CW 13'13
21% body weight lost

No loss or gain this week, weigh in same as last week.

Suppression is still very hit or miss on 15mg, which I have now been taking for 10 weeks. Even if I go off piste, I do not get anywhere near any of the symptoms I had on lower doses. Hardly any nausea or diarrhoea that I had when eating greasy/fatty food.

I received my latest pen on Saturday, which makes up 10 weeks worth of jabs (2 pens including bonus dose). That will take me to mid September and I think that will be me done.

If the 15s are not seeming to be working as well for me, I really do not fancy titrating down as I am not sure if going back down to a lower strength will help?

I am aiming to get below 13 stone, so if I can do that in 10 weeks (a big ask as it currently stands) then I think I will be happy.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 07/07/2025 12:01

@igivein down to a size 14 from 24 is amazing! I bet you feel like a different women.

@lapuf Good luck with the last dose of MJ gone!

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 Good luck with 13lbs in 10 weeks (what you have left of MJ). It seems to take me about 8-9 weeks to shift a stone now.
I have two full pens and half a pen in the fridge too but although I order 15mg I take 10mg a week from them currently. Glad I have a little stock pile with everything that's going on with OUSHK.

I lost 1lb this week, not impressed with that but it is what it is, literally everyone is now saying about my weight loss, only took them 5 stone to notice. 😂
We away in St Ives this weekend and the weather is looking lovely! so I cant wait for that.

Histoscientist · 07/07/2025 22:01

SW 13st 1lbs
CW 10st 1.3lbs
Finally got to bmi 25.0 today. Took 9 months but being prediabetic, I'm just glad to not be overweight or obese any longer and have that reduced health risk for diabetes and resolution of blood sugar symptoms.
For some reason I thought that when I got here, I would have a flat stomach 🙈😆 guess ill keep going!!

TheMeasure · 07/07/2025 22:32

Hi there - I've not been on the threads for quite a while but am currently on 10mg and have been for a couple of months. Here are my stats:
SW: 14s 10lbs
CW: 12s 0lbs AND STUCK FAST!!
5'8"

So, I don't really want to shift up to 12.5mg as I've only got 4lbs-ish left to go but I'm definitely losing suppression mid-week and am eating more. Also, back in the early days, I couldn't face alcohol but that's creeping back in now too.

My question, can I take two lots of 12.5mg out of the remainder that's in my 10mg pen (I've done one dose so far)? And if so, how many clicks on top of the next 10mg dose? I know I will be left with an odd amount but I was thinking that if I blitz for two weeks on 12.5, that will zap those last few lbs and then I can start reducing.

Thoughts?

It's a quarter on top of the usual 60 so an extra 15 for 12.5mg. There's usually enough for 5 doses incl bonus so if you've taken one at 10mg, you will have approx 40mg left to play with, taking away 25mg for 2 x 12.5mg leaves you with 15mg at the end.
If you stop at your goal you may lose a little when going down but if you're stuck now who knows. Do you track your calories and eat a balanced diet?
Another point to bare in mind is when people come off it, they can gain water weight back upto 7lbs let alone depending on increased appetite so do you have an exercise and diet plan in mind?

I've just finished 12.5mg and have a 15mg pen next as it was wearing off and I've hit bmi 25 but I'm going to continue a little for a buffer. Maybe 2 pens at 15mg then taper down slowly. I lost 4.6lbs this month and 5.5lbs last month so still losing and have done all the way through even as prediabetic but I do undereat usually 850-1000 cals which I don't recommend really.

TheMeasure · 08/07/2025 08:13

Thanks for that @Histoscientist
I am not calorie counting, no, which may well be the issue. But I do do quite a lot of exercise and lead an active life (much easier now I’ve lost nearly three stone!) which will continue whether or not I’m still taking the jabs.
Wont the pen stop working once it gets to the 40mg mark though? I don’t have any syringes to extract the last bits out, that’s all. Someone lent me one once and that worked but not sure which ones to buy.

Letshavetea1 · 08/07/2025 08:45

@EVK - thank you. Yes, I’m feeling okay about the weight loss as overall I’m delighted. I’m just going to stick with it and it’ll get moving at some point I expect! You’ve done so well. That’s a fab loss. Interesting reading your experience about coming off and going back on. I just know I’ll need to stay on MJ. I’ve just downloaded the Oushk app - looks to be helpful.

HansHolbein · 08/07/2025 11:39

@Histoscientist BMI 25, amazing! I really don't know how I would respond if I got a shitty comments. I would assume a lot of them are avid Daily Mail readers!

Including delivery, I paid £164.95 for 15mg, 12.5mg is the same price. They haven't had any stock issues with those doses. I will know more on Thursday about how maintenance works so I will come back with a full update then. Currently, they have asked me to check in with them before I make orders so we can monitor how I am doing.

@Taxiparent Lovely update from you, you're doing great.

@Letshavetea1 It's definitely a concern but I am sure things will be worked out. This medication is going nowhere. Hope you have a wonderful holiday and I'm sure that pound will be off!

@igivein Such a positive update! Croatia sounds lovely - but boiling. My husband and daughter are going to Las Vegas at the end of August, I think it will be about 40 degrees - I can't imagine why they would want to do that to themselves, grim! Size 24 to 14 is nuts! 90lbs, NUTS! I can't believe it. Really happy for you.

@TheChosenTwo Get yourself on Vinted if you're not already - you can lose hours (and money) on there! Well done on the 1lb. How much have you got to go? How is your PCOS?

@EVK So pleased that everything is going well for you. I'll definitely be on it for some time, possibly years, so you won't be on your own. I think a lot of us will. Here are the syringes I use > https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk?variant=53484951077243 - I've only done it once and it was very easy.

@lapuf Wow! It's time for the next chapter. What is your plan now?

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 21%, wow! 15mg is totally weird. I think I have 2 doses left of 15mg and then I am going to 12.5mg, I'll let you know how it goes. 15mg has been the strangest dose for me out of all of them.

@Fizzleawayyy1 Very happy for you with the 1lb loss, especially considering how busy you are! Have a wonderful time away this weekend, lovely place to go. Gonna be a hot one!

Scale not moved for me, that's ok. These last couple of pounds will take an age to come off but that is to be expected. Royal Mail just delivered my next pen, 12.5. I originally ordered 15mg but SwiftDr recommended I started working my way down the doses. They were quite thorough actually, asking me lots of questions and making sure I was ok. It was a bit intrusive but I'm relieved that they are being cautious. A sign of things to come, perhaps...

I have a video maintenance call with them on Thursday, which will be good. I am planning on standing in the doorway whilst my husband measures my height - they haven't asked for this but I want to 'prove' myself.

Daughter is much better but still off school. She's missed a lot of school due to recurrent tonsillitis. I've booked an appointment for her on Friday to see if we can have them taken out. Hopefully during the school holidays. We'll see.

Weather is going to start heating up soon, which I am dreading. I really thought that losing so much weight would improve it but I just can't bear it!

@HansHolbein I love the hot weather!! it makes me so happy! I also like winter though! sorry you will struggle!
I'm so happy that it will be sunny the weekend we are in st ives. The beaches are beautiful so looking forward to an ice cream on the beach OR maybe even a cream tea! scandalous!
What kind of questions did they ask? Im one of these that wants to be left alone, just give me my pen and dont ask me to talk or explain why I need it

Fizzleawayyy1 · 08/07/2025 12:35

Today I am having one of those days where nothing at all sounds good, I have no clue what to eat or any desire to eat at all but Its midday and I havent ate anything so far today except a can of pepsi max.
Its so odd how you can have days like this yet a day later you want food again and then back to feeling like this!

HappyNewt · 08/07/2025 14:32

Still going down.....slowly...!

I've just ordered my next pen...its definitely going to be my last purchase. I've an in date 5 in the fridge from earlier on so the 10 coming and that will be my last...

Got to work on that belly...as that really is where I'm holding on to the weight now...
I can afford to lose all of my remaining target loss (and more!!) from there.....I think that exercise is going to need to play a bigger part going forward to shift that....

I've been away for 5 days with little control over menu, but I really kept the portions under control to try and mitigate the damage!!

Here's to the next 10 weeks of MJ...I've a big do in 8 weeks time and I'm looking forward to finding a nice outfit for that nearer the time ...

Amazing results everyone...thanks for all of the updates!!

TheMeasure · 08/07/2025 17:40

I have another question about taking 12.5mg from the 10mg pen. Once I’ve twizzled the knob round to maximum (10), do I administer that and then do my extra clicks and jab again?

Histoscientist · 08/07/2025 20:19

TheMeasure · 08/07/2025 08:13

Thanks for that @Histoscientist

Ah so it might be worth checking your calories for a little while. I do that but I'm kinda obsessed with it and haven't had a takeaway in 9 months or pasta!
So you can buy syringes from SHD medical, I recently bought a batch of 10 for £5.30 incl delivery. They're a 12mm needle so I only inject half way.
Think of all the money you could have saved, especially on the higher doses. In 9 months I've saved over 1.5 pens worth so around £250-310. You could also try the hard twist method. Look it up on YouTube.
So without the bonus dose you are left with 30mg so 2 x 12.5mg leaving 5mg. The pen cuts off after approx 245? clicks so just a few clicks over 240(4 doses).
If you want to jab twice you could leave it in after the first full dose and turn the pen for the extra 15 clicks to save you removing it and putting a second needle on or you could remove it and put a fresh needle on and jab elsewhere.

TheMeasure · 08/07/2025 22:06

Thank you.
I never had much luck with the hard twist method - one time I panicked and didn’t know whether I’d even injected any liquid at all. Since then, even with pliers, it just wouldn’t turn any further at all.
I try not to think about the money lost!
I will buy some syringes.

lapuf · 09/07/2025 06:56

@HansHolbein
it feels weird being at the end of the beginning! Today I have 4.14mg in my system according to Shotsy, the (very) extended use beyond 30 days has not affected the efficacy of this pen, suppression is still very high but will obviously decrease from here on in.
as I don’t count calories it will be interesting to see how much more food to add to maintain as I don’t need to lose any more bonus lbs, my chest is looking a bit scrawny and DH gently checked I wasn’t planning on losing any more Grin

EVK · 11/07/2025 06:32

Tohaveandtohold · 06/07/2025 21:43

@EVK , it’s me on maintenance off the jab. I’ve been without the jab for 20 weeks which was the same time I was on it for so a mini milestone. I hit my lowest weight on Saturday though I’m in maintenance but any weight loss is welcome. On my RENPHO scale app, I did a comparison of my stats the day I finished the jab and yesterday and it was an eye opener.
That said, as we all know, there are lots of people who will have to be on the jab for longer to create a new set point before they can come off and some will have to be on it for life. It’s all a different journey and you’re doing well. You could see yourself slipping, went back on and dealt with it before it gets out of hand. I still always come to read about everyone’s journey as it’s encouraging to me as well so glad it’s all going well.
Here’s a picture of the comparison between the day I took my last jab and my weight yesterday

Hi @Tohaveandtohold thsnks for your post - so good to hear this and that you’re doing so well. It’s an inspiration and gives me hope that I will be able to do this by myself. So interesting to see how your protein, muscle
mass and water levels have all increased since you’ve been off MJ and that you’ve actually continued to lose weight! Wow 🤩 I expect you’re exercising really well - weights/resistance training?

Letshavetea1 · 11/07/2025 15:26

Good afternoon all,
@HansHolbein - you’ve done so well with your weight loss. I hope your daughter feels better soon. How did you get on with the consultant?
@Fizzleawayyy1 - I can understand that re the questions but given the current view on managing risks for people prescribers I think questions and evidence will increase.
@HappyNewt - I hope the last few weeks goes well for you. Tell us about the outfit you buy when you get it.
@TheMeasure - I find syringes and needles much better for the bonus dose. I’ve always done that.
@Histoscientist and @lapuf I counted calories for about six weeks and it drove me nuts. Then I listened to one of the Zoe podcasts which explained why it didn’t work. That made me feel better! Sorry @Histoscientist
Well I’ve finally seen a shift on the scales to 11 stone 2.9 lbs today! So 2.9 lb to a bmi of 25. Having listened to the Oushk web chat last night I realised that I need to book a maintenance call even though I want to get down to 10 and a half stone. They’re booked up until September. My appointment is on September 29th. Exactly a year after I started MJ!
Monitor Your Weight is telling me I’ll reach goal on December 7th.
It felt like a real milestone to be booking that appointment. I just hope Oushk are okay with their reinsoection from the GPhC.

Letshavetea1 · 11/07/2025 15:27

@recklessgran are you okay? How’s it going?

EVK · 11/07/2025 20:31

Amazing to hear how many of us are now either maintaining or about to titrate down and come off MJ🙌 some brilliant losses this week too. I’m managing to stay around 8.7-8.8 which was my target weight with the help of 2.5mgs which surprisingly makes all the difference! I feel like I could be ready to try by myself again soon. I have once more 5mg left and a 2.5mg I’m using now. So will probably use 5mg for half doses. Make it stretch ? Although maybe not double duration! Was thinking maybe take slightly less than 5mg each week and then back down to 2.5mgs before stopping- so one more pen to buy. My maintenance call is in August with Oushk - so like many of us - I’m hoping all will be well there. I don’t need to lose any more but if I did go a little below 8.7lbs before I come off again -I wouldn’t mind as I’d have a little more wriggle room which I didn’t have before. Sorry - long waffle - long hot day at the chalk face.
I’m considering investing in Zoe (you can get good offers from time to time) for a bit and getting the tests done that show how your body reacts to different foods (insulin response etc.) Thought it might help me to identify foods which for me might be triggers ? I guess we kind of know but interesting for example how different people
respond to refined carbs etc. Anyone know anyone who’s done it or have any of you?

NSV! Had a measure today, 7 inches gone from my waist. Bought some new jeans today that are 4 sizes smaller than the ones I have most recently been wearing 😁

You can amend your goal date on monitor your weight or it calculates it for you but it's way off. Well done on the loss! Not long to go.
I have to say for me cakirie counting really works as I'm short and prediabetic/insulin resistant most likely now, I need low calories to lose so its easy to go over if I don't track. I have lost consistently almost every week other than maybe 3 weeks in 9 months so that shows me it works.

@Histoscientist - thank you. If it works for you that’s the main thing and your results are fab aren’t they?
@EVK - the Zoe tests are very interesting. I’d love to hear how you find it if you decide to go ahead. I have learned a lot from their podcasts and research during this MJ journey.
