Thanks very much @HansHolbein let’s carry on!

lapuf · 22/06/2025 06:20

Checking in! I was at an event yesterday where lots of people hadn’t seen me for a while and commented, I feel like my weight loss is old news now BlushGrin

Tohaveandtohold · 22/06/2025 07:07

Just marking my place here so I can read your updates and well done to everyone.
@lapuf , my weight loss is old news too, I don’t even get much comments anymore because it’s like people I normally see have gotten used to me at this weight and the more recent small weight losses have been coming off my belly so not a big difference in my overall look to an outsider.

Maintenance is all going well, I’ve now been without MJ for 19 weeks so almost the same amount of time I was on it. I lost 0.5lb since my last update so I need to actively try and not say no to some treats 😂 because I’m eating enough and I’m now slightly lower than my overall goal weight but I don’t want to lose anymore as I really don’t want to start buying new clothes again. Such an interesting predicament though one I’m happy with.
Hope we all enjoy wearing those nice summer dresses this year.

CountingSleepySheep · 22/06/2025 09:09

Checking into new thread, thank you 😀 Very slowly losing now, about 0.5kg per month since April when I reached bmi of 25. This is intentional but feels frustrating, I am currently on 7.5mg and have upped the calories. Doing a lot of running and weights, focusing on eating well, getting fitter and stronger and trying to get my body fat into a normal range. I am apple shaped so there is still a fair bit of jiggle on my midriff. Start weight 98.6kg, bmi 36, Currently bmi 24.2, 66.2kg 5'5, aiming for bmi 22, it will be a while!

envbeckyc · 22/06/2025 10:58

So… a couple of weeks ago I filled out my prescription request with med express and they said that I was 1LB below the threshold for another prescription of MJ. So I have stopped taking it….and this is my first week without it!

I look totally different to when I started back in October as loosing 3st on my 4ft 11 body has been dramatic! I am well within the healthy bmi range, and have dropped 4 dress sizes meaning I am comfortably a size 6.

I have a holiday in August to motivate me into keeping on track with eating and exercise and not gaining the weight!

I think it’s going to be a hard adjustment without the help of MJ, even though I didn’t go above a 5mg dose each week.

I have never looked as slim as I am now in my adult life, and am hoping that I can keep it up!

igivein · 22/06/2025 12:24

Happy new thread everyone. I’m pleased we’re here, because my ancient iPad struggles to load big threads.
I’m a bit fed up becauseI’ve stayed the same this week, well I’ve actually gained a few ounces. I have no idea how I’ve managed this as I’ve been barely eating because of the heat - and what I have eaten has been salad!
I think I need to go up a dose, I get five doses out of a pen, so I’ve just taken my 10th 10mg - well I actually got nearer 11.5 out of it, which will hopefully be a good bridge to 12.5 next week.
That’s really concerning from medexpress @envbeckyc , no consultation on maintenance, no option to titration down, just ‘you’re done’. I think this is really bad practice.
I’m with them and have been since I started in October. I’m at bmi 31 now and wondering if I should move before I get below 30, so as not to make moving difficult. I know that eventually I’m going to need maintenance, and if they won’t provide it I’ll have to move to a supplier who does.

igivein · 22/06/2025 12:25

Forgot to say - thanks for the thread @HansHolbein 😊

Mincepieinthesky · 22/06/2025 12:44

Thanks for the new thread @HansHolbein

Maintenance is going well so far, though always lose my appetite in the heat so that’s helped.
Enjoyed the hot weather and wearing flattering clothes. Was doing races and cartwheels (still shit at both but easier 6 stone lighter 😅) with Dd and she said she liked having a fun mum again, best NSV yet!

@envbeckyc that’s frustrating they just let you go. Holiday motivation will help for sure.

The cut off for prescription was a bmi of 22, I could have fibbed an added 1LB to my self declared weight and been prescribed it, but at the start of the MJ journey I made a promise to myself that I would always be completely honest about my weight and not to be tempted to continue to prescribed it against their policy.

It was a bit of a surprise…as I still have chubby thighs.. but in terms of accepting that I am now in a healthier weight and the benefits that offers I am going to chalk it up as a success.

Keep us updated how you get on without it. I am hoping to taper off it eventually so other experiences are appreciated.

I have just ordered my 1st lot of 2.5 and a weighing scale, I am unbelievably nervous about this journey but having tried everything else I'm giving it a go from 1st July will be checking in after with stats

It might be best to join the new June thread or July when it pops up as this is an old one from October starters.

C&P from previous thread because we are running out of room...

@icantgetnosheep1 You deserve every minute of it! I bet you look AMAZING!

@EVK Well, the walking didn't go to plan. It was 32 bloody degrees. Just far too hot. I ended up coming home last night. It was like a sauna so came back home. Our house is very old so nice and cool. Good decision in the end. Talking of extending the pen, I've bought some insulin syringes and will try the remaining liquid this month. I practised on an old pen and it was fine.

@Taxiparent Never mind, it all works out in the end. I'm sure you'll meet your goal by your holiday. Where are you going? Exciting!

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore Oh Lord, that's the sort of thing that would happen to me too! When is the next call?

@fourquenelles Thank you! You're doing great. You are so right, everything is so much easier. Did you find the heat a tad more bearable this year? I think I would have died being 7st heavier yesterday...

@Mysticmaiden Nice to hear from you! So glad that med is making you feel better. To be honest, no, I didn't really slow down for me when I hit BMI 25. Mine has been pretty consistent. I would say this last stone has been slow though, but that is to be expected. I don't eat any 'shit' at all. Just meat, fish, vegetables, and fruit. I'm not interested in anything else so that has really helped me.

@TheChosenTwo Smashing that you're still maintaining. Totally agree, it's like a dream. Sometimes I think this is just temporary. I'm yet to feel comfortable that this is my new life.

@lapuf I'm glad people are noticing your hard work but I know what you mean! It feels months old to us!

@Tohaveandtohold Still maintaining after all this time is so nice to read, thank you. You enjoy those treats! I have 4lbs to goal now, so know what you mean about clothes. I love the selection I have now so don't want to buy anything else!

@CountingSleepySheep Wow you have made tremendous progress and your exercise regime... you are putting me to shame! Know exactly what it's like with the apple shape, very annoying.

@envbeckyc Really happy for you! You are going to look crazy good on holiday!

@igivein I agree with you about MedExpress - why are they so wanky! I moved when I hit 30 or just under. Was very easy and gave me a lot of comfort knowing it wouldn't be taken away. I think @recklessgran had a shitty time with them too at some point. Re your STS, I wonder if it's heat related?!

@Mincepieinthesky Isn't that just the best NSV. Lovely. Mummy is back!

I'm glad the weather isn't so stifling today. I've just realised I haven't washed the uniforms so I better get started on that. I got some lovely new bits in the charity shop on Saturday so I will enjoy those this week. Today I have made steak, a mini roast dinner, and macaroni cheese, I stink... the kitchen is NOW CLOSED!!!

Love to all x

Oh absolutely! It's all the other stuff too like not needing an extra cushion on the sofa to help me to get up; being able to sleep on my side rather than my back; loving walking into town without having to stop for a rest at least 3 times; ankles not swollen in the heat and so on and so on!

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 22/06/2025 18:38

Thanks @HansHolbein for the new thread.

Just checking in, ready for my next jab, and weigh in tomorrow 🤞

TheChosenTwo · 22/06/2025 20:19

Thanks for the new thread @HansHolbein.
@Muppies65 as a pp said you’d be best to track down the thread for the month you start - I found this one absolutely invaluable, I started right at the end of October and was debating whether to join this one or the November one but this one has been ace, so supportive, motivating and encouraging.
Best of luck with your journey 🥳

I need a kick up the bum too! Exhausted today after a big pony day yesterday and have been all about the carbs Blush
3.75 done tonight and then 2x2.5 to go and I’m on my own! The pen has gone over 30 days now as a 5mg I’ve been taking 2.5 from but kept in fridge and been very careful about hygiene, appreciate it’s untested though.
it does sting when it’s cold as a punishment for going off label Halo

Here's to getting back on track!

Really I'm aiming for about 1 stone more, to put me safely into the heathy zone. The last couple of months loses have been quite steady..I'm about 3.5 stone down overall..
But i still have a good sized muffin top and belly fat to go...most has come off my bum, hips, back and legs so far....
A good loss week or 3! would be a nice boost!!!

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 23/06/2025 07:41

Morning all

Week 35
SW 17'10
CW 14'0

15mg still seemingly working on and off. Suppression comes and goes, but no real side effects. Four pounds off this week, and bang on 14 stone!

Not bad after a bit of a crappy week eating and drinking wise, but its obviously doing something.

Letshavetea1 · 23/06/2025 10:11

Morning everyone! Dose 38 injection of 7.5mg yesterday. I’m still stuck at 11 stone 4 lbs and bmi 25.5. We did go to London for a concert this w/e (stayed in a hotel). So now I need be careful as we’re going on holiday in three weeks and I’d really like to lose at least a pound or so by then!! Feeling good though and still very happy with things!

Fizzleawayyy1 · 23/06/2025 10:33

Thanks for the new thread @HansHolbein

Lost 2lbs this week.

Where is everyone getting there 15mg pens of MJ? the cheapest ones seem to be pillsorted for me but its £160 without postage.
