@Histoscientist I’d love to lose that amount in two months haha!

I know, I have a friend who has lost 1.5 stones and she started in October too, ive lost 2st 12lbs so far. But she isn't on low carb, high protein, tracking everything and super strict dieting consuming 800-1100 calories a day like I am so I'd expect faster losses when I'm so strict. Yesterday I had 812 cals, day before 1048 and this is on a weekend when everyone else has takeaways and treats! I don't exercise but I was active all weekend cleaning my house so I wasn't sat about all weekend either.

@icantgetnosheep1
I can just feel the happiness radiating from your post! I’m so happy for you - you deserve it all 🥰

@lickycat
Ahh, you’re motivating me… It’s always been in the back of my mind that I should go to the gym. I think because I’ve always been fat, it’s put me off. Maybe I should try. I think there are a lot of things I secretly want to do, but I’ve always immediately shut them down because of my weight. Hmm.

@Histoscientist
For me, Mounjaro has given me a huge aversion to anything processed or “bad.” I really can’t stomach it. It’s worked incredibly well on my reward system that was dominating my life, especially with food.

For example, since October, I’ve had one Crème Egg, and yesterday I had a burger and a doughnut. Apart from that, all I’ve eaten are small amounts of meat, loads of fish, vegetables, fruit, nuts, and Greek yogurt. I drink a ton of water. I don’t count calories (maybe I should?!). I have a very active job, which has definitely helped. My portions are dramatically smaller now.

I think cutting out processed food entirely has accelerated my weight loss. I’m not avoiding certain foods for any specific reason - I just don’t want them.

I have found you!!!

CW 64.5kg

My weight loss is stalling! I have rediscovered prosecco. I blame the weather!

I also am finding 15mg a bit hit and miss. Suppression can be extreme on the first few days but low the days before jabbing.

I am not sure if it is anything to do with having to up my calories that my appetite is a bit bigger? I was on 1100 but my hair started to fall out. So upped to 1300 and have found the weight loss has slowed right down. I picked up an injury so have not been weight training as much as I had been. Slow but steady I guess?

Some smashing losses and well done on the maintenance!

Hope everyone is surviving the heat, been rocking some pretty Vinted summer dresses at work and not found it too bad.... Yet!

Wore a skirt without shorts. No chub rub. That was novel! 😂😂😂

xxxxx

Histoscientist · 30/06/2025 21:52

@HansHolbein the active job will help a lot to burn calories and increase your deficit. I work long hours in an office job with a long drive so when I get home I'm tired after being out house around 11-12 hours a day and want to rest.
Since I started 12.5mg I've barely touched carbs and my food volume has decreased a lot, before MJ I was a carb fanatic with my prediabetes.
I think finally my blood sugars have resolved. I guess at least I'm still losing 1lb a week at almost normal bmi so I should count my blessings. I just need a good food shop as I do go for convenience and easy often after work. What dose are you on now?

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 30/06/2025 19:13

3000 x 15mg pens available on medicine market place at 7pm. Website was very slow but managed to get one! Good luck anyone else who is trying!

3000! wow... I totally forgot last night but i woke up at 4am because of the heat and remembered so ordered one then and they had 267 in stock when I got one this morning, its now at 212 when I looked. They will be gone by the end of the day then!

Mincepieinthesky · 01/07/2025 10:07

Well done on all the progress everyone, love reading them all. Hope you’re all enjoying the nicer weather.

Still off MJ, though maintenance has switched back to weight loss, just wanted a bit more of a buffer. My BMI is now 21.4, new target is 21. Just plodding along with calorie counting/intermittent fasting and gym.

@HansHolbein fab fab fab. And so close to your new target too! I’m the same with food aversion even off MJ certain things still don’t appeal to me at all and other things, especially processed, taste odd to me now so not worth it. All good here, just enjoying not sweating/chafing this year and wearing what I want - feel so free!

Im hoping after this one il only need to order one more 15 before going back down and il go straight from 15 to 10mg as they are cheaper. I'm hoping to be at goal by the year mark! and il start going down the doses when I get close.

I do still have half a 15 and a whole 15 in the fridge as well as this one i just ordered.

Same as me. The pen that is coming this week I am hoping will be my last of 15mg. I am still undecided as to what I will do going forwards, but November will be a year since I started and I never really wanted to go beyond that anyway.

I think iv decided to try to hit my goal or be close to my goal and then go back down through the doses.

Im happy to stay on maybe 2.5-5 to maintain for a decent amount of time, I want my body to fully settle at the weight i end up before coming off it.

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 01/07/2025 11:24

@Fizzleawayyy1 yes that makes sense. I have never really had a goal as such, I got down to about 13 stone before on SW, possibly a smidgen less, but I dont think I want to go any lower.

I got down to a\ stone and 2lbs less then what I am now and probably want to get down to that again and see how I feel.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 01/07/2025 13:50

@HansHolbein 1 Crème egg since oct is impressive! My weak spot WAS chocolate. I do still eat it now but no where near as much, but I still have some a few times a week. Iv lost 73lbs since oct but you are smashing it.

Vegemite123 · 01/07/2025 14:34

I am ADORING this lovely weather, having been so, so cold these last few months. I'm also really enjoying wearing shorts!

Wearing summer clothes, though, I'm starting to get more comments about my weight loss. Which I'm really hating. If someone was to say, for eg, "you look fab today" I'd be very grateful. But it's more the "YOU'VE lost WEIGHT, haven't you?!?!" in an an accusatory tone that I'm less keen on.

I had my Oushk maintenance call today (despite having done DIY maintenance for about 3 months now). They're happy for me to stay on 4mg, which is good, as that seems to be my sweet spot. Surprisingly, they thought I may well drop down a dose at some point! I assumed I'd need to develop more willpower or something, and would prob keep going up as my tolerance increases.

I've stopped tracking through June and reckon I've put on half a kilogram. So I'm going to try to be a bit more mindful this month, and consider starting tracking again. It's sooooooo dull but it does work.

@icantgetnosheep1 well done on doing such a good job maintaining! How do you manage it? Do you still track, or are you keeping up with extra exercise?

lickycat · 01/07/2025 21:57

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 30/06/2025 08:11

For anyone using Medicine Marketplace, they will have 12.5 and 15 available from 7pm tonight!

Got one! Thank you!

HansHolbein · 01/07/2025 22:19

@UtterlyQuackers Hey you! Glad everything is going ok with you. Another one of us that is finding 15mg a bit weird… Yay for no chub rub!

@Histoscientist I’m on 15mg. Think I’ve done a few 15mg now. Very difficult if you have an office job. I know the feeling. When you get home all you want to do is rot! How is your pre diabetes now?

@Mincepieinthesky You’re doing great! Totally agree about the buffer. Sometimes I feel like I’m one large dinner away from putting 3lbs on, lol!

@Fizzleawayyy1 73lbs is just nuts. Can you believe this is where you are now?! Sometimes I’m like WTF. I bet none of us actually thought this was possible.

@Vegemite123 We certainly aren’t cold anymore! Really pleased the call went well. I really don’t like talking about weight, either. It makes me feel so awkward.

Couple of things from me…

I extracted the remaining liquid for the first time this evening. Really easy. Can’t believe I haven’t done that before. Not advocating anyone else doing that but I wanted to give it a go.

Secondly, I tagged along to the gym with my husband earlier. They have a body measurement scanner thing that you stand on and hold on to. All of my internal stuff is really good. Body fat is at 23% and my muscle mass is good. I was pleasantly surprised.

However… I am actually shorter than I thought I was! I am not 5’5, I am 5 feet 4.57 inches. This means my BMI has gone up to 20.5, instead of 20.3. So, I’ve adjusted my goal (again). New goal weight is 8st 5lbs, which will give me a BMI of 19.7. I’m rightly losing very slowly now so it may take a while but that’s ok.

Moving on to the weather, I’ve been like a slug today. Barely moving from the sofa, all slouched down like a beached whale with my legs open. What a sight. I’m glad it’s going to be more bearable tomorrow. However did I cope being twice the size?!

My poor daughter has an eye infection and tonsillitis, so she will be in with me tonight. Will probably keep her off for the rest of the week. She finishes very soon anyway. I’m sure they only play with play dough for the last few days!

Anyway, that’s enough rattling on. Night all x

@HansHolbein this heat is crazy, it was only 18.C yesterday in the North east but its still crazy hot in the top floor of my house with me not opening any windows and the house retaining heat at 23.6.C! Hence why it's 1.44am and I can't sleep!

i hope your daughter recovers soon. On that note, I've been quite poorly in the last few years catching every cold and covid infection but since mounjaro I've not been ill once! How does everyone else fair? I'm sure it's boosted my immune system, maybe the reduction in inflammation or my reversal of ibs and prediabetes has done it. I've not had any high sugar symptoms since 10mg, maybe around feb/March. I haven't been tested yet as mounjaro can raise some markers but I am due an nhs health check so once I get into maintenance I'll get tests done.
I've used every bonus dose since the start, must've saved a few pens worth now and I use a syringe as it's easier.

We all shrink as we age, I'm 43 and dropped an inch since my 20s, I've not used a gym machine to measure. I might use the boots scales one day to see what they say. They say we lose 1cm every decade. You are still doing brilliantly 👏 what kind of response do you get from people who haven't seen you for a while?

Bluenose1966 · 02/07/2025 08:27

Hope your daughter gets well soon @HansHolbein and good news re your body composition. I am in denial about being shorter though probably am….. Weather was only OK here yesterday, quite cloudy, in fact I put a cardigan on in the afternoon. Monday was a scorcher here though and I managed about 10 minutes in the garden before deciding too hot.

Thanks @histoscientist formerly known as mysticmaiden😆re the L-Trytophan, I ordered it from Amazon not only for my sister but myself as although I haven’t got anxiety I could do with more energy especially of an evening. Probably co-incidental but I gave the oven a very rare clean last night, which it desperately needed. However I had a busy day yesterday helping a family member with financial affairs and on the long drive back reverted to my pre MJ days and went into shop and bought a pack of 3 twix. though they were smaller than normal ones. Before bed I had bitten the chocolate off them all and thrown the part I am not too fussed on away, so easy to relapse😳
@lickycat Re the HRT and MJ. Can’t remember where I read it but oral HRT may not be as effective with MJ so HRT dose may need changing or method. I am on Oestrogel gel so think I am ok.
Going on HRT one of the most life changing things I ever did as had terrible anxiety, hot flushes and couldn’t sleep, more and more research shows really good health benefits for things like osteoporosis etc . It’s a shame so many people of my generation were frightened to take it due to research that has since been debunked. Though I do have a friend who is in her 80s on it still and says she will never go off it as has kept her feeling young with lovely skin still.

Going to list more clothes on Vinted, have made over £540 now since weight loss and still have loads to sell. It doesn’t show you what you have spent but it is more than that unfortunately !!!! I really need to declutter more and aim to be more minimalist, not as bad as I was but long way to go.
My tips for Vinted. I create drafts and let the listings go live about 6pm on Friday evenings as most people start viewing over weekend.. If item hasn’t sold after a month I delete it and re-list it. Must put it back to top of views as normally sell then.

Right off to walk the dog, then going gym to do weights. I am lucky that I am retired and know how difficult it is to get the exercise in when shattered after work etc.
Have a good day all.

Yes, those are my thoughts too, I want to reach goal before rotating down then take a low dose whilst adjusting to maintenance for a period of time. I’ve worked too hard (and spent a lot!) not to have a real plan and support for maintenance

At my maintenance plan this was discussed, to get to a goal which you are happy with before I taper down and then I will probably lose a little more on the way down.

Histoscientist · 03/07/2025 06:55

@Bluenose1966 do you feel the L tyrosine is working for you? I'm a different person, wish I knew about it years ago. I've currently taken a 3 day break and I'm still feeling the benefits. I'm taking a break as you do have to take care as it increases blood pressure and adrenaline which is beneficial when feeling low but then you don't want it to get too high either. I've read up on a few reviews and they often take breaks every so often. It's also really good for vegans and vegetarians as tyrosine is mainly in meat and I was veggie for 5 years so that could explain why I've been low for years. I also gained most of my weight during this time too as a lot of work places and restaurants don't have good non meat options other than chips, pasta, sandwiches etc!

I agree about HRT. It changed my life! I’m on patches, so fingers crossed that’s unaffected.

I’m sure it’s too early to say, but I got my L Tyrosine and started taking it 3 days ago. Probably placebo or coincidence, but I feel great! I’ll keep reporting back for anyone else who is feeling the dopamine drop.
