@Taxiparent that's a fantastic loss!! Well done!

@TheChosenTwo Great loss this week! My story over the past few months is much the same as yours. Those pesky repeating couple of pounds !!!

igivein · 03/08/2025 11:47

Sunday weigh day:

SW 20st 2lbs
CW 13st 2lbs

So hurrah! I’ve finally hit 7 stone loss. It’s taken a little while, stayed much the same for a couple of weeks and then finally hit it today - it’s like my scales know when there’s a target coming up and refuse to budge 😁
Next target 2lbs off for a total of 100lbs loss, or (whisper it) 3lbs to get me into the 12s. Not mentioning any of this to the scales though …

Recent discoveries: I have collar bones - it feels odd to be able to see them. Weirder still, there’s a bony knobbly bit on the top of my shoulder that stops bag straps sliding off - who knew?! 😂

TheChosenTwo · 03/08/2025 20:12

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore haha tell me about it!! I’m really not actively trying to lose more now so the pounds on and off are fine with me and account for natural fluctuations more than anything else - it’s weird though because for months it was brilliant seeing the scales go down every week and now I’m at what seems a natural weight for me I’m just happy to see them sitting around where they are.
Measuring my body though has been and continues to be brilliant for me. My shape is changing with all my different activities and it’s just getting better.

@igivein my collar bones popped out a few months ago, haven’t seen them in years and years! Still feels weird 😂 I don’t really wear a handbag if I can help it (which is almost always!) but I can see how that’s very annoying!!

Morning all

SW 17'10

Finally after stalling for 3 weeks, then I have 3 pounds off this week. I am a little surprised about this as I have really been struggling with suppression this week, and have been quite snack-ish as in previous weeks.

The 15 has definitely not been as strong for me as lower doses.

Good luck everyone!

Fizzleawayyy1 · 04/08/2025 09:33

@HansHolbein I hope you have a nice break to yourself and glad your family are all on the mend!

@igivein 7 stone is amazing. What an incredible achievement!

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 I'm still on 10, think I'm on week 6 of 10 but from what i read a lot of people dont seem to rate the suppression on 15mg!

MM have pens back in stock, I ordered one Friday, It was a week or so earlier then what I needed to order but had to do it while they had them!

Lost 2lbs this week (including the 1lb from after disney)... onwards and downwards.

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 04/08/2025 10:06

@Fizzleawayyy1 I have golden dose of this 15 left, then another 15 pen, then an unusued 10 that a family member gave me who had to stop. That will take me to almost the end of October when I plan to stop I think.

I have 2 unopened 15 pens and 1 pen with 1 dose of 10 missing (also 15 pen) so if my calculations are correct and I stay on 10mg then I have enough until xmas currently! I have no plans of going higher then 10 too ideally.

Although I dont think I can survive xmas as an end date! seems like a terrible idea.😂

I think I will buy 1 more pen and then maybe call it quits, I just keep thinking recently that the £145 a month I'm spending I could put into an account and take the kids on a extra holiday next year. Its £1,740 a year which would easily pay for a cheap city break somewhere.

Mincepieinthesky · 05/08/2025 15:55

Hello all, well done on the milestones and targets.

Currently in Annecy in a bikini (booked this holiday last October then ordered mj the next day 😂) very hot but feeling great!

Hit a 7 stone loss now (5.5 stone on mj 1.5 stone since coming off). Kept moving my goal bmi back as I think I enjoyed feeling fully in control of my weight for the first time, but DH and a friend have both told me it’s going too far if I lose anymore so am back to maintenance at 65kg (10.2 stone, bmi 20, 5’11). But pastries, baguettes and vineyards have me at maintenance calories easily so not complaining!

Think I was also a bit naive when I started the jabs, I thought once I’d lost weight that the rest would be easy because being obese was the issue. I’m happy my hunger has never gone back to pre mj levels but between thinking about food many times a day, daily weighing and keeping an eye on calories - food/weight still has a lot of head space. Of course I’d take this version but just my ramblings of where I’m at!

@HansHolbein glad you’re managing to eat more, how are you finding maintenance? Did you give Pilates a try? I love Move with Nicole on YouTube, some really short ones and I noticed progress fairly quickly - my motivation is result driven 😅

TheChosenTwo · 05/08/2025 18:30

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 and @Fizzleawayyy1 are you planning on stopping cold turkey or titrating back down using the higher strength pens?
eta I’m just being nosey here, not judgemental!
I’ve got my maintenance call at the end of the month and would like to be able to find a dose that I can stay on forever ideally. Not sure my body works by itself to maintain my weight loss. Wish it did 😭

Histoscientist · 05/08/2025 20:34

Hello all, lovely to hear about how great you are all getting on.
15mg has been really tough for me, 3 weeks on it and I'm barely eating 850-1000 cals a day due to feeling super full and sickly when i do eat, manage half a meal at times. So this week I've split the doses with first as 10mg and 2nd of 5mg and I'm so much better with my appetite. Don't know how ill split the bonus dose other than using 2 syringes or try the hard twist for first. Then I have another 15mg pen waiting that I ordered 2 weeks, so I may have to count clicks to get 12.5mg out.
After that planning on starting to taper down and come off it, I'm fed up of it now as I'm always tired but may feel better when reducing the dose and eating more.

Just hit bmi 24.5 but still got some fat on my belly and my visceral fat at 11 is high compared to body fat 22% and subcutaneous fat 19.6%, so I may have to stay on it rather than taper down or start exercising!
Has anyone else on here tapered down and if so can you pass on your experiences thanks

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 05/08/2025 22:23

@TheChosenTwo I am going to use my last 15mg pen, the 10 I have been given by a relative then go cold turkey. I never really wanted to titrate down and when my pens run out will have been on MJ for practically a year. I have a plan, for exercise and sensible eating, but if it doesn't work out Ill go back on it, starting again from 2.5 if I need to. I've had good results on most strengths so happy to start from scratch if I need to, but wont go all the way back up again.

Thanks for taking the time to share.
So if you decide to go back on it again (although I hope you’re able to maintain without it obviously, I just doubt I could), would you not have to wait until your BMI is back over 30 again if you’re not keeping a maintenance package open? I haven’t had my meeting yet and want to talk through my options but I think some providers let you reorder again within the year if you’ve subscribed to a (low cost £10 a month or something?) maintenance plan? As I say, I’ve not really looked into the options yet so I’ve just picked this up from various other threads and posts and pieced it together, possibly all wrong!!!
Regardless, all the best for the coming months 🤞

TheChosenTwo · 06/08/2025 22:13

I’m just about to take my first dose of 15mgs. Wasn’t sure whether I was going to order it and in the end I decided to go for it since my maintenance meeting is at the end of the month anyway and will most likely be titrating down to find a suitable dose for me to maintain on (is the plan anyway, maybe 15 will suit me best after all!). I’ve done 2 months of 12.5 and have had a healthy appetite, even had a few treats today at work which I rarely ever fancy but did today. Kind of enjoyed them but also kind of didn’t 😂

Thank you. I do want a break from it to be honest, and if I needed to start again I assume I would need to be over 30 bmi, but its changing all the time so who knows what the criteria might be.

But I am really going to make a conscious effort to keep it off, altho it won't be easy. I dont plan on doing a maintenance plan.

Edited

I keep going backwards and forwards. Ideally I want to shift another stone at least. Maybe a stone and a half. Which I should be able to do with my current pens.

I will probably try and come back down through the dose and would like to maintain on 5mg (maybe even 2.5mg) but taking it from a 15mg pen so it lasts ages. It means il need to have a few pens when I stop buying.

Eventually Il run out though so I may look into staying on someone's books for a tenner a month and order a pen at the end before they say no more or its too long. Its a tough one but at some point il need to stop buying them as il have too much stock but when I run out of that I wont be happy.😂

I'm finding it hard deciding what to do too.... Annoyingly I've hit a bit of a set point which is confusing me a bit at the moment....it is almost in line with another 10% down. I had hoped to shift about 4kg more as I came down through my last 10 and 5 pens...but I have pretty much stayed the same through the 10...
Do I get a 7.5 to take me through another month on my way down...or stick with dropping to 7.5 for the last jab of my 10 pen and moving down to the 5 for my last 5 weeks.... some months I would have been able to shift those 4kg but having stayed the same this month who knows!!
Aaarrggh..
I definitely don't want to shift more than roughly 4kg more, and I am not looking to lose those and then titrate down, as knowing my luck I will lose more...I am quite sure that I don't want to move too far down that 'healthy' BMI zone as I know that for me that will make me look too skinny. My goal was to be and look healthy not skinny.
I have been trying to read as much as poss about the final stages of MJ use and maintenance etc...but most of the accounts I have seen have been from people aiming for the lower end of the health BMI range and then staying on a maintenance dose....
I know that I'll be swayed to get a 7.5 if my provided does a cheeky Aug discount offer....but I really do want to move over to this being about me doing the right thing rather relying on MJ....

igivein · 10/08/2025 12:58

I’m loving all your talk of maintaining and titrating down and whatnot - that’s a good long while off for me yet.

Sunday’s weigh-in day so here’s the stats:

SW 20st 2lbs
CW 13st 0lbs

Which brings my total loss up to a nice round 100lbs 😊

When I finally get to where I want to be I want to buy beautiful, classic (expensive) clothes that look good and last for years. Obviously that’s not happening yet, but I decided that 100lbs loss deserves a prize. So, working on the theory that my feet probably won’t shrink much more, I’ve treated myself to a pair of £300 ankle boots. They are glorious!

Mincepieinthesky · 10/08/2025 13:42

@igivein amazing! 100lbs definitely deserves a prize, enjoy your fabulous shoes 🤩

Taxiparent · 10/08/2025 16:30

So weigh in day was yesterday and stayed the same, so maintenance worked…for about 24 hrs! Went out last night and had several cocktails and some food, although definitely more drinks than food and am 1lb up this morning. Have moved this weeks weigh day to Friday as we fly on Saturday, so hopefully it will be off again by then, however what happens on holiday is anyone’s guess as I don’t plan on wasting the AI!
Maintenance really does bring a lot more issues with it, I think everyone here is doing a fabulous job, keep going everyone.

Histoscientist · 10/08/2025 18:05

Hi all, hope you are all well?

SW 13st 1lb bmi 32.4
CW 9st 11lbs bmi 24.2

Quick question has anyone lost weight when tapering down or on maintenance? I've done a whole pen of 15mg and struggling to eat. Would like to lose a little more maybe down to 9st 7lbs, I've always found ravenous hunger when doses wear off so just wondering whether to do my next pen at 12.5mg or carry on with 15mg? I do track food and eat less than my deficit, yesterday hit 930 cals, today ive managed 350 cals so far and its 6pm, hadnothing until 4pm as i just wasn't hungry, but if I drop down a dose the hunger and carb cravings may return!
Hot week of weather coming up next week!

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 11/08/2025 08:27

Morning all

Week 42

SW 17'10
CW 14'10

A massively rubbish week and set of results! 3 pounds on this week, and barely any suppression continues on this 15. I went to a beer festival on saturday and drank for more than I should have and much more than I know I would have done on lower doses of MJ!

Obviously I have my own free will and could have stopped at some point, but I was enjoying the day and being with friends, so I just went with it.

I have jabbed the bonus dose of my current 15 and managed to get just over 0.7mls of liquid out, so jabbed the entire lot to see if that does anything this week.

One more pen of 15 left, then my 10 and then I am done I think. I did order some new clothes from Vinted yesterday which were 5 sizes smaller than the bigger clothes I have at home, so that's something I guess.

I can't stay on MJ forever, and I am concerned that it is not working much for me anymore, so will definitely need to start looking into the gym I wanted and sorting meal plans going forward.

icantgetnosheep1 · 11/08/2025 10:20

Hello all, checking in to see how the summer is going. Maintenance is tough work!! You need to be mindful with or without the jabs / tapering down. I didn’t taper down I just stopped and have somehow managed to keep on track - sometimes 8.2 sometimes 8.0 but a pound or so fluctuating week on week keeps me to be mindful of what goes in..! I don’t seem to have the hunger I once did and if I do eat too much my body isn’t at all happy and I’m on the loo quick sharp 🙈 I’ve had a lot of comments this summer - interesting no one told me I’d put on so much weight but they’ve been quick to tell me how skinny I am. Rewind 5 years ago and this was my normal weight and had been for years. I felt so bloody fat last year and had resigned myself to the fact that this was old age and the menopause.. until I decided to take the plunge and try MJ. It has literally changed my life, the clothes I was hiding in are absolutely huge and I am absolutely determined I’m never going back there. I’m cycling a lot now instead of using the car, I’m in the gym at least three times a week and just feel so much healthier. I still have to remind myself to drink more water, I stay off bread at all costs and my protein intake is high. If I’m feeling a little slow I have a electrolytes water to kick start my day. Well done to all of those who’ve hit their target weight, and positive weight loss vibes to those of you nearing the goal - an absolute amazing achievement from you all.
