Who was it who got the heads up about the medicine marketplace delivery of 15mg pens? I can’t get one ordered, despite email alert and a couple of emails back saying they were in stock, only to go online and find they weren’t in stock.

@HansHolbein that’s an interesting thought about going down a pen to go back up. I’ve spent July losing 1lb. It’s not too different from January when I stalled, but of course I could go up a pen back then.

My plan is to double down on all the stuff that helps - increase water and protein and exercise. I’ve still got quite a way to go so I’m trying to trust the process.

I did but that was a few weeks ago.

They had a banner on their website saying that they were available to order at a specific date/time and I sat on the website early to be ready to order.

Letshavetea1 · 29/07/2025 14:23

@Histoscientist -I’d not be happy about a manager making that comment to you! No wonder many of us choose to keep quiet about MJ! Totally get it about wriggle room! Good luck with exercise/walking programme. I’m trying to do this too.
@HappyNewt - for similar reasons I’ve decided to stick at a dose of 7.5mg - even though my bmi is 25.3 and I’d like to lose another 101b to give me wriggle room. My weight loss is slow now, but suppression is still reasonable.
@lickycat - we will get there! Slow progress though it might be! I totally agree with you about moving more - trying to really track steps/stairs climbed etc
@TheChosenTwo - you’ve done so well. Sounds like your maintenance call is just before mine. I think I’ll still be trying to lose the last few pounds though by September!
@recklessgran thanks for updating us all. If your nephrologist referral is taking time, is it worth an initial private consultation as this often speeds things up through the system?
@Bluenose1966 - I am enjoying your writings - please continue! How did you decide what to take for the maintenance dose? 20 weeks is impressive. There’ll be a lot of us I your shoes soon. No way I’m coming off this wonderful drug - I couldn’t do without it! I’ll try the mindpumpmedia blog.
@HansHolbein thank you! Let me know what you think of Zoe once you’ve had a look/listen. I find it addictive! My husband says ‘oh more vinted crap’! That’s because he focusses on the odd thing that needs sending back like one of the dresses this week which had two holes!! The other one was brand new with tags and fits like a dream for £15 - size 12! I’ve done a calculation of how much more it would all cost new - it’s a lot!
@DeltaAlphaDelta79 - I know how frustrating these stalls are. I don’t know whether the dose od MJ we’re on makes any difference to them? I’m experiencing v slow weight loss but still have symptoms (nausea mainly) on 7.5 mg so am staying the same. Another reason is it’s my 70th birthday soon and I don’t want to feel poorly for the celebrations! I think you’ve done brilliantly and it’s about trusting the process - the scales will move eventually! I’ve just accepted it’s taking forever - my planner now says December to lose another 10 lbs. So be it!
Current stats:
SW 12 st 9.5 lb bmi 28.6
CW 11 stone 2.7 lb bmi 25.3
GW 10 stone 7lb
The good news is that I’ve lost the Italy holiday gain. Phew!
This morning I finally fully set up Renpho. Not liking some of the stats on there (high body fat, but low visceral fat. Low skeletal muscle but high muscle mass.) I’m not sure how accurate it all is. At least some things are in the green now! I’ll keep working on it. Unfortunately it says I’m three years older than my chronological age!

Hopefully they have another banner up soon. I need to order another pen soon.

I seen a friend last night who I haven't seen since last year i think and her firsts words where WOW, you have lost so much weight while looking me up and down and she looked at my behind 😂
I think she's now convinced to go on MJ as she wants to shift a couple of stone too!

Letshavetea1 · 30/07/2025 17:25

Hi all, I had a great day today. Down to 11 stone 1.9 (lightest for many many years). Had a fab Whistles vinted purchase - brand new leather and bag was £189 for £50! An Aspiga dress (new) for £20! Also went to M and S as I want to get in the gym. Bought gym leggings and top (size 12)!!

Buying nice clothes and accessories is one of the best perks of the weight loss isn't it! I'm getting addicted to Vinted. Better focusing on that than on food though... ! 😊

Letshavetea1 · 30/07/2025 20:01

@surreygirl1987 - you’re right. That’s one of the things I love the most about the whole MJ journey. That its giving time to focus on other things - not food!! Vinted is addictive!

icantgetnosheep1 · 30/07/2025 21:22

Sending love and best wishes to @recklessgranI'm so sorry you’ve been through so much! Please keep us posted, you’ve been such an integral part of this community. I’m currently on holiday rocking a size 8 bikini ☺️ I’ve maintained at 8.2 for well over 3 months now and my eating habits have changed drastically! The body pump classes have also paid off and at the ripe old age of 53 peri menopausal I’ve never looked better!! Long may this continue, life is good!

Bluenose1966 · 31/07/2025 07:48

Lovely to read of all your progress, I too am addicted to Vinted, though selling more than I buy currently.
Wow on rocking a size 8 bikini @icantgetnosheep1 That is incredible, enjoy your hols.

@HansHolbein Hope the lurgy has left your household and that you enjoy your beach break, with or without your mum.
Currently listening on Audible (and enjoying) a self help book recommended by a friend called ‘ The Let Them Theory’ by Mel Robbins. In my bid to stop spending I was going to lend it from my Library but there was 57 people ahead of me so assumed it must be good😆.
I have some toxic family members who are trying to split the family so having sleepless nights even though I am not really involved, I just hate conflict and the backstabbing that goes on. Would recommend if like me you worry too much about what people think and want strategies to stop trying to control things you can’t.

Thanks @Histoscientist . My BMI is currently 20.4. I think I can now eat 2,200 a day because (I hope) the weight training has sped up my metabolism. The fitness guys I follow say weight training is best way to improve fat burning long term rather than cardio, especially if time limited. Though they still say to walk and move regularly.
Loads of great exercises you can do with a kettlebell, even just doing a few reps while adverts are on all add up. Says me who when had a busy day can’t be bothered to get off sofa all night.. I am very active of a day but really need to move more of an evening. Haven’t even got excuse of work anymore, though I can remember how numbingly tired I could be after a busy day sat down all day.

@Letshavetea1 Glad you have lost your holiday weight and have a fab 70th birthday. Maintenance dose for me is a bit of a guessing game, though I have in my head the mantra “only take the lowest effective dose”. The same dose of MJ is prescribed whether you are 11 stone or 30 stone so I have no concerns in personalising it to me and taking lower than prescribed, would ideally like to go to 1mg. I believe if I came of it totally the aches in my ankles would return, as the aches originally stopped on my first week of MJ before I had lost any weight, presumably some type of chronic inflammation causing the pain.

Feeling quite happy as just helped a friend age 62 still working with money worries realise she had a pension that she should have claimed when she was 60. Don’t know who was more excited, me or her. I always used to say to the younger ones in work if you have any spare money put it in your pension as it has been a lifesaver to me, letting me retire at 57.
Off for my morning 3 mile walk with dog after having a pint of water and a cup of tea.
Have a great week all.

Carridoesntlivehereanymore · 01/08/2025 07:37

Omg, my bmi has finally dropped into the healthy range this morning!!! It's taken 42 weeks on mj and I've lost 5 stone. I'm so happy but gobsmacked at the same time. The last 6+ weeks have been so painfully, tantalisingly slow with my weight yo-yoing in the 3lbs above the healthy bmi so I've been trying to keep positive focusing on the trend (just barely) creeping down. I'm just back from a few days away and the scales were dismal on Monday at 10st 13lbs. But I've had a whoosh since then and I'm at 10st 9½lbs this morning!! Happy days!

Letshavetea1 · 01/08/2025 08:04

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore - well done! That’s fantastic. I’m just waiting for two pounds to go so I hit a bmi of 25! What are your plans now? Will you carry on losing?

Fizzleawayyy1 · 01/08/2025 10:21

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore well done!! How much more do you want to shift?

Fizzleawayyy1 · 01/08/2025 10:22

Feel like I'm struggling this week a bit, I do keep thinking of food. Even sat here now I'm thinking oooo what can I have.... probably hormones. I took my dose of 10mg today 2 days early because of it.

Carridoesntlivehereanymore · 01/08/2025 11:37

@Letshavetea1 @Fizzleaway1 I'd love to keep losing but my arms are looking
crepey on certain angles. My stomach is a bit, too, and my neck isn't as defined as it once was. Sighs. I wanted to drop another stone or a bit more but maybe at 60+, for me anyway, that's unrealistic to still look nice and healthy. I'm thinking maybe 10st 5lbs, that'll allow for some upwards fluctuation whilst still staying in the healthy bmi range.

I guess sooner rather than later I'll have to look at maintenance and titrating down. I'm so grateful that maintenance has become much more of a thing during this journey. The thought of having to come off cold turkey fills me with dread

By and large, it's been a pretty positive journey for most of us. And one most of us thought could never really happen. I'm so glad I joined the rest of you 'October starters'

igivein · 01/08/2025 14:31

Hi @Carridoesntlivehereanymore I'm also 60+ and I have to say that, 7 stone down and a least a couple still to go, I'm starting to resemble a melted candle.
It's a shame, but I'll take it along with the lots more energy, better sleep, no snoring, being able to cut my toenails, running upstairs to get something I've forgotten, being able to buy clothes because they actually look ok rather than because I can get into them etc etc etc.
(still sucks though - I think having funded this all ourselves we ought to be eligible for lifts /nips/tucks on the NHS 😁)

Letshavetea1 · 02/08/2025 06:16

Morning all. Well, today I finally reached a healthy BMI of 24.9! Can’t quite believe it!! It’s taken 10 months (since 29th Sept 2024). I think I’d like to lose another half a stone.
Maintenance call is booked with Oushk for the 29th Sept.

I do wonder if eating a bit more on my recent holiday (plus the wine) gave me a boost? Or just another set point from the distant past?

lapuf · 02/08/2025 07:38

Hooray for those healthy BMIs! Amazing scenes @Carridoesntlivehereanymore and @Letshavetea1
it is a lovely supportive group and it’s so good having a place to share wins and ask questions

lapuf · 02/08/2025 07:39

I’ve just weighed myself at my parents’ house on their scales and I’m 4lbs less than at mine! Not sure whose is correct Blush I’ve definitely not lost 4lbs since weds Confused

Carridoesntlivehereanymore · 02/08/2025 13:05

@Letshavetea1 that's fabulous!! Well done! Don't you feel great to finally have got there? How long ago did you have to book that call with Oushk for the end of September?

@lapuf You're right, it is nice to have somewhere to share. Only three people know I'm on mj - one is my daughter who doesn't know any of my stats, one is a very old friend I only see perhaps three times a year and the other is a beautician so my first port of call is actually this thread!

Letshavetea1 · 02/08/2025 14:55

Hi @Carridoesntlivehereanymore thank you so much!. I’m sure you look lovely. I’m a week short of 70 and started to get crepey upper arms and neck before weight loss in my 60’s. Can’t remember when exactly. For that reason I’ll most probably stop at 10 stone 7lb - bmi 23.8.
mid heard that Oushk maintenance calls were booked up far in advance, so I booked mine in late June and the first date was the 29th September. Itll take me longer than that based on my track record of slow loss to get this next half stone off!

👍👍
Im definitely on another set point...this one is from about 25 years ago 😂
Just hovering around the 'just' into top end of healthy...
Hoping to take it down just a couple if kilos more and then hopeful that good habits and the right exercise work off the resistant belly and muffin!! I'm on what is my last 10..and i have a 5 in the fridge...
But now I'm contemplating getting a 7.5 to bridge the gap and handle the drop down a little more slowly...and hoping i can nibble a bit more off the kgs....(i appear to be entering the 'just one more' world 😂).

lickycat · 02/08/2025 18:56

Brilliant news @Letshavetea1. What an achievement!

HansHolbein · 02/08/2025 19:51

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 Oh that is annoying, sorry about the non movement. 15mg has been weird for a few of us. 3/4 miles is great!

@lickycat Good plan. You're completely right about trusting the process.

@Fizzleawayyy1 Wow! So pleased for you that you lost a 1lb! I know things are always really busy for you - what a win. Hope Disneyland was magical. How lovely that someone noticed - I'm sure you indeed look amazing! You did a while ago in that dress. Lovely figure. Sometimes I take it a couple of days early if I can feel my mind wondering - it does help.

@Letshavetea1 Amazing! Soo happy for you re the loss. Great NSV! It's just so much fun when you start shopping again, real confidence boost. ETA - Fucking fantastic on the healthy BMI, you must be so pleased. Just wonderful. I did read in the past that switching it up a bit can actually make your body respond.

@icantgetnosheep1 Frigging amazing - you're an inspiration! Such a lovely post to read. Have a wonderful holiday.

@Bluenose1966 Thank you very much for that recommendation. I try and manage my mother by keeping the contact infrequent; that's the only way I can keep my aversion to her at bay. Sorry if that sounds horrible. It's very complicated. My parents live in the same town so I am often bumping into her in the shops. I am close to my Daddy, which is nice. Thank God for my mother-in-law, I love her so much. I'm so sorry you're going through all of that, sounds really hard.

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore Oh my YES QUEEN! Congratulations! Very happy for you.

@lapuf I'd take the 4lbs!

@TheChosenTwo How are you?

@Mincepieinthesky Are you ok?

@WildOneWalker All ok with you?

I'm away on my own this weekend. I've had a month of family medical issues and just needed to recharge. Everyone is better now. My son got tonsillitis in the end... then had a reaction to the penicillin. Poor thing had a temperature of 39.9 at one point! Wonderful NHS sorted it out very quickly.

I've been eating more. Mainly nuts and avocado. Made some delicious chicken schnitzels last night. Definitely on to maintenance now. Still find it hard to eat food in large quantities. I dropped to 12.5mg on Thursday, we'll see how it goes.

It's a lovely evening out there! Love to all x

Hi all, I hit my 5 1/2 stone loss today. Upped my calories this week to try and ease into maintenance and another 1lb dropped off. 2 weeks to go until my holiday, so going to try and maintain until then and then have a week off whilst away, I know I can deal with the damage when I return. I downloaded the shotsy app today so I can keep track of my levels, it will be interesting to watch.

TheChosenTwo · 02/08/2025 21:59

Very well thanks @HansHolbein - was surprised to jump on the scales this morning and was 4lbs down this week, I’ve been up and down the same 2lbs for weeks and in the last 3 months have lost half a stone.
I’m at a natural settling point for me I think, around 10.5 stones and looking and feeling well. I could push myself to get down, I know I could, but I think I’d really struggle to maintain it long term. I’m not actively looking to lose any more weight, I bought a size 10 pair of trousers this week and they fit like a glove, it’s like a dream come true!
Interestingly I’ve eaten a lot compared to usual this week but still lost. Hormones are a funny old thing aren’t they?!

Your poor son, hope the antibiotics kick in and he’s on the mend soon. And definitely sounds like you need a bit of breathing space so do enjoy, relax and unwind 💐
