Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Thanks for the new thread.
When I was about 8, my best friend and I weren't allowed to sit next to each other in class any more as we were too chatty. I think of that every time I see we've rattled through another 1,000 posts here!

Thanks for new thread.

On sleep, I too have insomnia on jab day and often cramp. Had a doh moment this week, I’m obviously dehydrated, and drank a lucozade sport in the evening, other than needing a wee at 4am I slept a whole lot better.

DarkForces · 23/05/2025 16:42

Well there's still a bit of chub to rub tbh but I'm wearing a short dress and knee high boots tonight anyway because I'm still looking better than I have for over a decade!

YourNeedyLurker · 23/05/2025 16:46

Hiya , I’m new on here but post on MN mainly under another name, I started Nov 1st at 16 st 11.

Im now 13.4 🥳 want to lose approximately another stone. I’m 53, 5 foot 6. I suffer with slight lipodema in my lower legs which adds to my weight. However, unlike other diets Mounjaro has really had a great effect there. My legs are less swollen and feel a lot less heavy.

I did 1 x 2.5
2 x 5
4 x 7.5
Now halfway through a 10 pen. Kicked my arse with tiredness, heartburn and feeling freezing cold last week on the first dose for 2 days. Still some side effects this week but not as bad.

Invisablepanic · 23/05/2025 16:55

Surprised at all the insomnia comments, I've been sleeping so well since I started...too well, I sometimes grab a nap if I can.

Cantbesure · 23/05/2025 17:19

Haha @PinkArt that also happened to me at work (20+ years ago) 😂😂

Thank you for the new thread @Mounjaropen
My stall has broken. We have DSS (49) staying with us. (Actually we're trying to straighten him out) so have removed every drop of alcohol to neighbours garage. Thanks to having not a drop of win or sip of gin since Sunday, I've dropped 3lbs. alcohol had slowly crept back into daily life and I'm blaming that for the lack of weight loss. DSS is trying every drop of my patience and in days gone by I'd be reaching for the gin, chocolate and biscuits but thanks to MJ I'm drinking sugarfree squash.
Nearly at goal and now panicking because at this rate I'll be 22.3 BMI when I have my maintenance consultation in mid July. i did order a pen from Ousck this week so that I'd be a customer when the consultation takes place. Don't know whether that will make a difference or not.

Hi new thread!
I'm preparing for a family wedding this weekend. So so happy I'm 2st down and feeling a whole lot better than I would have been otherwise. BMI still 27.6 so I still have some way to go but I'm not dreading the photos which is amazing.

Mounjaropen · 24/05/2025 07:34

Weigh in this morning.. 140.6lbs. Seem to have had a mini whoosh thanks to my Rose consumption last night 😂 So tantalisingly close to getting to the 9’s.. so a loss of 1.8lbs for the week which I will take.

Off to join friends later for a champagne/Seafood jaunt on their fancy boat today so we’ll take a lovely cruise down the Thames from Runnymede to maybe Bray. The boys will play captain pugwash /DJ shitemusic whilst the ladies will sit lounging in the sun drinking their own body weight in alcohol 😂 For once I’m actually disappointed with the cloudy weather because I had planned to wear SHORTS or maybe a short dress WITH MY ARMS OUT. Not a tent dress in sight 🥳

Have a great bank holiday everyone!

I do feel for you @Dreamqueen , you are being an amazing mother. It's really tough, emotional and hard work, yet you have managed avoid the stress eating (and drinking) and even had a loss. Sending lots of support over cyber space. ❤️

I hope you have a great day @Mounjaropen . We won't be walking along the Thames path today, so can't wave at you as you go past, we have a houseful of people and dogs staying, including 3 puppies. I'm on dog walking duty, which is great as I hate walking in the rain, but dogs have to be walked, so it gets me out. I just need to find my raincoat.
Thank you so much for the Magnesium advice @Mounjaropen, I slept so much better. Someone else suggested a small amount of carbs at supper, so I had a tablespoon of wholegrain rice. That may have helped as well.

Hopefully It will be a nicer day on Sunday. (Apparently next weekend is going to be much better.......) Have a happy B.H weekend everyone.

Keep going. And be kind to yourself during this time. I hope your kindness to your DSS succeeds- but it is his choice to get sober and is no fault of yours if he doesn’t accept the help.

I think It’s great you are more self-aware about alcohol consumption than maybe before MJ? I know this will be my biggest struggle on maintenance- I love wine and enjoy the feeling of relaxing with a glass of something chilled. Especially if times are stressful. However, I know I make terrible food choices both as I’m drinking (last night I had 10 mini twirl bites with my Rose) and the next day (hello toast and butter!) I’m lucky that my most stressful times (child rearing and elderly parents carer) are behind me so I intend to lean into my new habits as I enter this new period of my life. I have a huge house renovation this year which I’m project managing so it would be quite easy to get overwhelmed and reach for the wine but I’m determined not to.

We’ve got this 💪🏻

Glad the tips helped!

My dog is looking wistfully at the outdoors but knows there is zero chance of a walk whilst it’s raining 😂

Off out for my walk in a bit (anyone's dogs are welcome) it's warm at 15 but chucking it down 🫠 so I'll be too hot or too wet

Closing in on my 3 stone rosette!

Went round to my sister’s house yesterday and tried on all her size 10 shorts and they fit!

notenoughhere · 24/05/2025 10:55

I haven’t really been active on the threads but I’m a November started and I often read snippets of them! I have just hit 5 stone loss and I’m into unknown territory now in terms of weight. It’s been over 20 years since I was this size and i feel absolutely free. I do still have a good amount to lose but I no longer fear basic things like chairs and booths and photographs.

SerenePeer · 24/05/2025 11:56

Happy Saturday fellow death jabbers! And thanks for the new thread @Mounjaropen 😍

Checking in and saving my seat as we swish our ozempic butts into June 😂

I had a bonus day off yesterday, so treated ds1 to lunch out. We both had fish & chips, but I ordered a small portion and couldn't finish it! To be honest I was a bit stressed about going out for lunch. I didn't really want to eat at lunchtime in case I ended up falling into old habits and throwing a fuck it fit, like I would usually do on past weight loss efforts. I also didn't want anything too stodgy and had resigned myself to ordering a bowl of soup (which just feels boring when you know your lunch companion will be having something indulgent!). So i was delighted to see the small portion option on the menu! (The pub is owned by the husband of a local PT who runs v successful online programmes, so i wonder if that's her influence). Anyway, small fish and chips was perfect and I didn't then go on a binge. Made dinner for everyone else and wasn't interesting in eating at all!

I'm off out tonight for cocktails and charcuterie, so looking forward to getting dressed up in a size 12 outfit!

Have a gorgeous bank holiday weekend everyone!
