Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

That’s a great loss you’ve had @flametrees I think we have all plateaued at points. I feel like I’ve had weeks when I have gone up and down. Do you track your calories and protein?

I do. I wasn’t great on protein but have made a big effort and add in a protein powder when I know I won’t do great.

Cantbesure · 27/05/2025 07:59

Sit tight @flametrees if you have calculated your TDEE and definitely eating in a deficit then a whoosh will come.

In spite of friends staying the weekend with a lot of fizz being consumed I can finally announce that the scales start with an 📣📣📣 11 📣📣📣

SW 15 stone 12 / 100.7 kg
CW 11 stone 13 / 75.7kg
Loss to date 3 stone 13lb (1lb off 4 stone club) or 24.9kg

Next mini goals are to -

  1. to join the 4 stone club by losing another 1lb and then
  2. to lose another 3lbs which gets me to a BMI of 30
Mounjaropen · 27/05/2025 08:26

Catching up on here after the long weekend which did involve plenty of wine 😂

.No sign of the 9’s before my big fat Greek holiday.. but I have so many more clothes I can wear! Found a delightful Tibi silk dress in the depths of my wardrobe which previously I would only have worn with thick black tights which I wore sans tights on our fancy seafood/champagne boat trip with friends on the Thames. Many compliments on my legs to my surprise (it was an above the knee number) which was quite lovely. Shame I drank my own body weight in champagne and rose and ended up seeing it all again before going home 😂 (good job they are very old friends)

In extreme packing mode now. Still frustrated at not really deciphering my bra size so will make do and get properly fitted when I get back and at my settled weight. I’ve decided to keep my white embroidery anglaise short suit from Zara and going to ‘wear the damn shorts’. yes my legs are very wrinkly at the top, but I think I’ve worked bloody hard to get to this size so fuck it!

i’m going to take my MJ pen with me - going to pack in an insulated lunch bag and then put into the hotel fridge once I’m there. It is a bit ‘trains, planes and automobiles’ (well, planes boats and automobiles really) to get to the island so I hope it’ll be ok as I have 2 doses left in it. I’ve never left mine at room temp so not sure really.

Still a bit nervous about leaving DD behind for the first time. Irrational because she’s been at uni, has the massive hound to guard the house and is working but you know how the mum worries take over…!

Have a fab week everyone!

I haven’t really been active on the threads but I’m a November started and I often read snippets of them! I have just hit 5 stone loss and I’m into unknown territory now in terms of weight. It’s been over 20 years since I was this size and i feel absolutely free. I do still have a good amount to lose but I no longer fear basic things like chairs and booths and photographs.

Welcome!

Wow! 5 stone trophy for you! Amazing!

Happy Saturday fellow death jabbers! And thanks for the new thread @Mounjaropen 😍

Checking in and saving my seat as we swish our ozempic butts into June 😂

I had a bonus day off yesterday, so treated ds1 to lunch out. We both had fish & chips, but I ordered a small portion and couldn't finish it! To be honest I was a bit stressed about going out for lunch. I didn't really want to eat at lunchtime in case I ended up falling into old habits and throwing a fuck it fit, like I would usually do on past weight loss efforts. I also didn't want anything too stodgy and had resigned myself to ordering a bowl of soup (which just feels boring when you know your lunch companion will be having something indulgent!). So i was delighted to see the small portion option on the menu! (The pub is owned by the husband of a local PT who runs v successful online programmes, so i wonder if that's her influence). Anyway, small fish and chips was perfect and I didn't then go on a binge. Made dinner for everyone else and wasn't interesting in eating at all!

I'm off out tonight for cocktails and charcuterie, so looking forward to getting dressed up in a size 12 outfit!

Have a gorgeous bank holiday weekend everyone!

Size 12 fancy clothes 🥳🥰

Hope you had a fab time!

@notenoughhere5 stone is incredible! Well done.
Totally understand the joy of not worrying about seating. I marvel at my reduced thigh spread on the tube every journey.

@SerenePeerwell done on enjoying the fish and chips, I love that MJ stops a treat becoming a binge. And gives confidence for maintenance.

With the extra brain clarity I’m getting on 10mg I properly prepared for hungry Friday and had Pork chops as an early dinner to get a big protein hit. It worked, hunger averted but maybe worked too well as I didn’t eat until gone 3 on Saturday, which was a donut (so so good and worth it).
Scales still down every day or two which has been such a boost after recent slow months.

Enjoy the bank holiday.

🙌 for scales still descending. Amazing effort! And for no thigh spread 👏👏

Anyone else here get the occasional massive poo they struggle to pass? I’ve had one there all day and it got to the stage when walking round I felt I was going to crap myself. I’m going to work this evening so can’t feel like that!

Anyway, after a LOT of effort and sweats it’s gone. But I have now blocked the sodding loo! The romance of telling my husband! 🤣

I know I sound like a poo troll. I’m not, honest! 3 friends of mine also on MJ have the same every few weeks too.

Oh dear. Hope the loo is better now 😂

Reposting on new thread…..

Hi everyone…just an update, lovely to read back how everyone is doing.
Week 26 weigh in for me and it’s 1 lb off, giving me a total loss now of 60lb…just feel really well still on my 5mg pen, month 6 loss is 11lb.
I have realised though that I have been very low in calories this week, because I have a long long way to go my deficit is quite high, but even reducing it to 1500 cal, I am only getting to 800-900 most days…I have a good brunch then meal in evening with fruit etc…but do need to eat more and increase my protein.
I have learned to swim after joining local hotel health club (well I say learned, I am still learning), and I love it, go 2 times a week for few hours ….and that really helps with calories too, so plan to up this week.
Another work colleague said this week…have you have lost weight….yes I said…well you look fab - was nice to hear, but I can even see it myself and I still have an awful lot still to lose 10st😱😱
Anyway enough waffle, have a great week everyone xx

60lbs off is awesome! Congratulations! And enjoy those compliments!

Checking in!

SW last summer 100 kg
SW Mounjaro in November 93.1 kg
CW 72.9 kg
BMI 24.1

Bank holiday weekends are tricky. I ate out not once, but twice yesterday. Went to IKEA - but while DH (whose suppression has worn off in week 4 of 2.5 mg, I can tell...) and DS ate meatballs AND cake, I just shared a few of DS's meatballs and had a slice of apple cake. In the evening, had a fancy meal out, where I didn't even manage half of my grilled fish main because we had starters to share, and I really enjoyed those.... So, I think that was a typical Mounjaro experience where you can't quite figure out what to order, etc. 😂
Still probably went over the calories that I should be consuming yesterday, but it can't be bothered to add it up!

Check out your BMI! 🙌 fab progress!

Happy bank holiday death jabbers! I’ve had a weekend away eating and drinking with friends and was sure the scales would judge me this morning, but amazingly they have stayed the same. I’m 1.5lbs away from target.

I did tell a friend I knew would be a bit judgey about MJ this weekend, and she was a bit but by the end of the weekend was less snippy about it. There were quite a lot of comments about my weight loss over the weekend - I’m down 33lbs on MJ and 7lbs before - as I think I have just tipped into being objectively slim. I’m surprising myself on the ring doorbell 😂

I think today will be my last dose of 10mg and then I shall move down to 7.5mg and start maintenance proper. Maintenance still concerns me as I’m better when I’m working towards a goal. But I need to shift my goal from weight loss to improving fitness and strength. And learn to accept a weight range and not chasing the drop on the scales as my success metric.

Congratulations on reaching maintenance. Fantastic achievement!

Glycerin suppositories. Seriously. Won't stop the occasional difficult moment but eases the passage considerably when patience fails. I've only needed to use 2 in the last 6 months but, on each occasion, I've been delighted I bought them.

Anyway, poo talk dispensed with, hi all. I'm now 4 stone, 2 lbs down and feeling pretty good. Have dug my size 14s out of the loft and most fit. In a stone, I'll be off the edge of the map and lighter than I've ever been in my adult life. Have no doubts now that I'll get there, although when if rather more up to fate.

Top tip indeed 😂

Congratulations on your 4 stone award! Awesome 🙌

Checking in on the new thread!

Thanks @Mounjaropen for keeping us going!

I don’t have chub rub but my legs are not short worthy sadly, unless I wear the ones that come to the knee maybe?!

Height: 5ft 6 inches
Age: 44
SW: 16 stone 7lbs
CW: 12 stone 13 lbs (it was 12 12.4 yesterday, unfortunately indulged in a roast beef dinner!)
GW: 11 stone (if I ever get there, will reassess and aim for 10 stone 7, but will see!)

Loss since starting MJ - 50lbs!! 🎉 (3 stone 8lbs)
And I’m now back in the 12s… I’ve not managed to get to a weight below 12 stone 7 since the early 2000s so will be exciting to see if I can get there in the next month or two. Weight loss has been VERY slow recently as I’ve focused on other things so need to get back into the zone.

Exciting to see a 12 on the scales! Especially after being in Center Parcs where we had lunches out and I indulged in wine every night (whoops). We were more active though, thankfully the back pain receded enough I could hire a bike and tow DS! Also swimming and lots of walking. I did Pilates yesterday. Unfortunately my back is playing up a bit this morning so I need to be careful.

So lovely reading all of your updates 🥰

Hope you had a fab break! Fab losses there. Hope the back stays trouble-free 🤞🏻

Checking in too. 🖐 I’m at goal weight now really. I’m planning to titrate down from 10ml over the next month or so. Very much still enjoying my size 8/10/12 new clothes (wow do sizes vary between brands omg). And I’ve started wearing some nice sleeveless tops on the hotter days we’ve had recently and feeling actually ok with my upper arms so miracles can happen. Had a nice convo with a pharmacist last week due to broken pen. He got it working. He was intrigued to hear my story and was so sweet struggling to believe I’d been three stone heavier six months ago. What a (young) charmer. 😉

Aww what a lovely compliment!

Well done on reaching maintenance 👏👏👏👏

Love this! Always a fan of young charming men 😁

The sizing variations are bonkers aren’t they. I bought a linen jacket / shacket in White Stuff yesterday and ended up sizing down to a 14 and I’m most definitely not a 14 (yet 🤞). I got it in a bright blue colour to brighten myself up! I took a couple of pics of myself in it at home and you know what, I am starting to see a difference!

You look fab! Well done!

Im so frustrated here. Was losing steadily since November. 13 stone 10 down to 11 stone. But in the last month I’ve really just stopped loosing.
I was 11 4. 11 2 back to 11 4 11 3. You get the picture.
took my first 10 mg last Thursday. Suppression is great. Not eating any more but just can’t get under 11.
any advice?

Well firstly, look at how far you’ve come! Fab losses there.

secondly, The answer will be in your data somewhere.

  1. check your calories are definitely under your BMR
  2. Check you are eating enough protein (at least 1g per kg of body weight per day)
  3. Check you are drinking enough water
  4. check you are moving enough

Monitor your inch loss if the scales aren’t moving and you are doing all of the above. It’ll keep you motivated. Keep going!

sounds like another lovely glamorous weekend @Mounjaropen show off your slim knees with pride.

Somehow my scales are on a roll at the moment and I’ve had a little whoosh and now a just 0.6lbs above my target weight. This is a weight I wouldn’t even have considered before joining this community and seeing some of you set your sights high (or low!). I’d assumed at my age anything below a bmi of around 25 would make me look old and gaunt. But today I’m delighted to hit a BMI of 23. The scales say my visceral fat has dropped to 5 (was 12 when I started) and my body age is now a year younger than my actual age (it was 4 years older). It def feels like a party popper 🎉 moment.

hoping everyone has a great week. And I’m very jealous of everyone going somewhere lovely for whit. I need to meet a nice man who will whisk me off somewhere fabulous!

@Mounjaropenglad you’re going to wear the damn shorts, the big fat Greek sun will have you tanned in no time. Can’t wait to hear all about it. My hols feel an eternity away.

@flametreesive had a couple of stalls, and they were so frustrating. Like others I ended up moving up a dose and that worked. Plus I’d become lazy with water, and peri cycles got in the way.
Do stick at it, the movement will come.
