Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

congratulations! amazing achievement!

I feel chuffed every time I start a new thread and read the start of the previous one because I’ve dropped weight. It has taken effort to achieve that.

Last October I was almost 14 stone and drinking pretty much every day. I was exercising and down to OMAD but nothing was shifting. Then someone locally told me he’d started MJ with the local pharmacist a few weeks before and he’d dropped 6kgs in pretty much no time. He had a lot to lose. But in the back of my mind were worries about the ‘death jabs’ thanks to the DM and the death of the Scottish Nurse after her second jab. I also was afraid I wouldn’t be able to jab myself. The local pharmacist was a 2 week wait, So I read a few threads on here and decided that if other sensible women were taking MJ and it was working so could I. I knew I needed to lose at least 4 stones and lose skin was obviously going to be an issue and then I was served Pvolve content on instagram which seemed to fit what I was missing. So I went all in, ordered ALL the Pvolve and MJ. I’m so pleased I did both. I was happier within a week of taking MJ and I have no doubt that the drug affects mood and not just because you lose weight.

I’m now just over 10 stone and loving life. I do not need to drink every day (except for the next 10 days whilst I’m on my big fat Greek holiday obvs 😂) I’m currently sat by a pool wearing a lovely new swimming costume and last night I wore my new short suit! I cannot believe the change in myself - both physically and mentally. And none of this was achievable without the mutual support on this thread. To anyone starting MJ I say find a group that supports you and keeps you accountable. It is the secret sauce IMO 🥰

morning everyone,

Weekly weigh in on 3.25 dose..
Today is jab number 27 so that’s me 6 months in. Don’t think I have ever stuck at a “diet” for 6 months as I have always given up before now.
Had to complete 6 month review with Med Express.

This week I have been so disciplined and I am disappointed to have only lost 0.8lbs. But I will keep plodding on, onwards and downwards.

SW 18st 4.3lbs
CW 15 stone 4.5lbs
0.8lb loss this week
total loss so far 2 stone 13.8lb
I have lost 16 % of my starting weight
SBMI 43
CBMI 36.7

Achievements this week ….
my steps this week are 73949
week 2 of a daily average of over 10k steps a day.

Well done to everyone on the great losses and to those that have reached maintenance stage, we can do this. 💪

What a step count! 🙌A loss is a loss. Keep buggering on my friend. 💪

So this week all of a sudden I’m getting the have you lost weight questions. Even though I’m this weight now for what feels like ages suddenly I look slimmer. My jeans waist 28 are comfy. My legs have gotten very thin. Only noticed that when I put on sweaty Betty leggings I had in my wardrobe for god knows how long still in a packet.

muffin top still there but boobs are finally shrinking. Normally 34h but need to get fitted again as they are ridiculous now.

scales still not budging. I’ve upped the water. All the walking to the loo should help the step count.

Great losses on here and so motivating. So glad I found you all.

Size 28 jeans is awesome! And newly found SB leggings at the back of the wardrobe! 🥳

I have spent 2 days being ruthless and sorting out my wardrobe. I now have so, so many 'new' clothes to wear (mostly a size 14) from the last time I lost weight and have said a poignant goodbye to some old favourites that now just hang off me and a joyous hello again to some others that were hidden at the back as I got too fat again to wear them and seeing them made me sad. I am keeping the dress I changed into at my wedding reception and my wedding dress though, even though they are massive on me 25 years later. I just couldn't bring myself to get rid. I also bought a Shapermint strapless bra (they're brilliantly stretchy and comfy when you're changing sizes) so I can wear some of the 'new' stuff since it's off the shoulder. I now have a beautiful clavicle so I'm planning to show that bad boy off and my boobs might be OK without hoik them up bra straps. Huzzah!
Disclaimer - I haven't worn a strapless bra out in decades so I may yet chicken out.

🥳 love a new/old wardrobe haul. Luckily my ‘back of the wardrobe’ stuff is so old I look trendy again 😂

Still tantalisingly close to, but not quite at, 4 stone lost. It's another pound of though and they all count.

If anyone remembers me mentioning blood clots a few threads back, I had my hematology appointment this week. It was actually quite low key - no more testing, just well you've got them and you're on anticoagulants so that's that.
She did say they've seen a couple of people who are on mounjaro - far too small a sample to tell if that's clots caused by mounjaro or clots coincidentally while also on mounjaro but if there is a link then expect a lot of Daily Mail headlines.
Fortunately they said I'm fine to continue on it, because I'm on the anticoagulants - even if it does cause clots in me then the meds would cancel that out. I can't see me reaching a healthy weight without mounjaro and obesity itself is a clot trigger (as is IBD and mounjaro is helping mine massively) so I think the overall health benefits are worth it.

Something’s telling me that @Mounjaropen wasn't on my Jet2 flight - were you on a plane that has first class? Don’t think anyone on mine was wearing LV. Although I did spot about 8 women wearing the same stripy M&S linen trousers as me.

😂

I’ve been on a jet2 plane before (DH work trip to a conference in the Canaries and the company taking us booked the flights) and I discovered that the champagne was very reasonably priced. The only annoying thing was Jess Glynne warbling away at every given opportunity 😂

I’m the queen of airmiles. I run literally EVERY expense for the entire household, business and family (who all have a linked card) on my BA Amex. if I can’t use Amex I don’t buy it… if you think about every bill you pay for the household it soon adds up. Especially food - and if you link up with the supermarket loyalty card you can earn more (nectar allows you to convert their points to avios) . Tesco Clubcard sometimes allows you to do the same thing. Short haul business class flights with BA are a reasonable amount of air miles as you can do a reward flight saver which means no airport taxes and a nominal fee of £1 (long haul is not as good and you still have to pay airport taxes etc) and those flights give you an enormous amount of luggage allowance (2 x 32kgs each plus a handbag and a carry on) . One of my DC is at a uni in Europe so it also allows for flights to and from at the start of the year without much stress about how much they are taking and musical instruments can come on board with them too.

On the downside you are sat with twats toting LV backpacks 😂

We need a pic of the M&S trousers tho’ they sound fab!

@AlwaysTimeForWine Twice this week I have had someone say to me "don't lose any more". One of them went from "gosh you look amazing, well done", to "you will start to look haggard if you loose any more" in the same breath. What can one say to such rudeness??

My rational thought is that I have lost quite a bit, and by comparison I am indeed slimmer; but I still have over a stone to go until I get to the top of a healthy BMI.
Also, clothes off, I can see plenty of extra body that I do not want to carry around with me.
My sister is very similar to me but 2 stone lighter and never had a weight problem. I doubt very much indeed anyone thinks she looks haggard or should start piling on the weight. In fact, someone once very rudely said 'it's such a surprise that you are not slim like your sister!' My lovely sister went on the attack on my behalf and told them to back off (she may have used some stronger language!).

What I want to say to them is stop flipping criticising me and my choices, Don't tell me what to do! But I am just too polite.

You have a very fortunate son @Dreamqueen , to have your care, love and support.
I also try to limit alcohol to the weekends. I do find that something switches me off after a couple of glasses now, thanks to MJ. But it is still better to have alcohol free days.
Having said that, we had my birthday on Monday, a family funeral on Tuesday, a friend took me out for lunch today, so my alcohol free days this week are in a small minority.

Because of the celebrations/events of the week, I am not weighing in until next week so that hopefully I can still see a loss. I know that for me, I get very disheartened if I see a gain, so I stay better motivated spreading my weighing in over a longer period when necessary.

A moment of realisation: We had to buy a 6 pack of 1.5 litre bottles of water. I found it difficult to carry it far at all. So I weighed it. It was 'only' 1.5 stone.
It's astonishing to think that I was carrying the equivalent to well over 2 of those around with me all the time last year.
It also reinforces the message that another stone loss will be a great thing for my health....... and any criticisers who want me to stop losing can go take a ffflying leap!

Bloody hell that is incredibly rude of them. Please ignore and keep going. And stop being polite. The old MN phrase ‘did you mean to be so rude?’ Might come in handy I reckon. It says ‘fuck off’ without having to say those words 😂

I bought a very thin stacking ring in a small size because my rings were so loose. I was particularly afraid I’d lose them in the sea - DH lost his original wedding ring when swimming twice, the first time in a pool and we found it, the second time he was in an outdoor pool on holiday, threw a ball and his ring came off and sailed over the fence into a lot of bushes. We didn’t find it that time. So far my stacking ring is working admirably to hold my rings on, and it’s so thin it’s not particularly noticeable.

@jay55 that's fantastic, you must be pleased!

I was just wondering about jewellery recently, my wedding rings aren't close to falling off but they are starting to spin. My engagement ring was actually an upgrade for our 10th anniversary (partly due to having more funds and partly because my original was going to cut off my circulation!) and I don't want to go back to a smaller diamond. Vain, I know. I don't think I would get mine resized until I've been at goal and maintained for a while though.

Just a half pound off this weigh in for me but after last week's 4.5 that's still 5lbs down in a fortnight which I'm more than happy with.

DarkForces · 31/05/2025 07:50

Had a few days away and the booze calories are definitely to blame for my measly 0.0.2lb weight loss, however my scales now have my metabolic age as only 3 years older than my actual one as a result! Hopefully it'll counteract the age my skin has put on by not taking sun tan lotion out for a sea trip. I'm a little lighter, a lot redder and will need to do penance for the booze... but that can wait until Monday!
