Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Has anyone else found that they’ve become intolerant to certain food since starting MJ? I can’t eat eggs now without throwing up. I can’t see why the jab would change anything like that though.

Not helpful, but I'm finding the opposite. I can tolerate small amounts of foods I've had intolerances to for years. Honey was one of the worst and seemed to speed up my already too quick digestive system to a ridiculous degree. I can eat tiny amounts now without rushing to the loo soon after.
For someone with a sane digestive system to start with, it could be that eggs traveling through it at normal speed didn't trigger any irritation but now they're in your system for longer it's just tipped the balance.

MsRumpole · 27/05/2025 13:40

Late check-in for me! I have been dithering over going up from 6 to 7.5 but I just bit the bullet this morning and the food suppression is BACK. Enjoyed a piece of cake but was totally unable to finish my daughter's last bit even though it was tiny. Hoping I can keep going!

jay55 · 27/05/2025 14:50

@PinkArtyouve terrified me now. Thinking what would happen if I accidentally ate something I was allergic to.

Presumably that would be bad news whether you were on mounjaro or not!

I find this too. I've always been slightly gluten sensitive, or at least sensitive to something in bread and pastry (doesn't happen in proper sourdough, mind you, so perhaps it's some emulsifier). Anyway, doesn't happen with Mounjaro. It's like having someone else's normal digestive system. It's brilliant.

Oh dear. Hope the loo is better now 😂

Yes 🤣 took about ten flushes which I didn’t have time for as I was getting ready for work.

Am I the only person who reads about what @Mounjaropenfinds in the back of her wardrobe with their jaw on the floor?! 🤣

Wowzers @Goldleafcat(btw I've been reading that as goldle af cat until now 🫠) @BagQueenBee& @Cantbesure 🎉🎉🎉 amazing stuff hope all the holiday packers are enjoying fitting more clothes in their bags 😃

I think @@Mounjaropen has a very glamorous life. No Versaces hanging around the back of my wardrobe sadly.

thanks @Arglefraster I never expected to get to this weight. MJ is amazing!

😂 I plan on replicating Carrie Bradshaw’s closet of dreams after my renovation. Nothing will be left at the back 😂

Found some lovely (unworn) Gucci mules at the back today (drunk purchase I reckon that I hid from DH possibly 15 years ago. No idea why I hid them, I was on good money way back then!)

sounds like another lovely glamorous weekend @Mounjaropen show off your slim knees with pride.

Somehow my scales are on a roll at the moment and I’ve had a little whoosh and now a just 0.6lbs above my target weight. This is a weight I wouldn’t even have considered before joining this community and seeing some of you set your sights high (or low!). I’d assumed at my age anything below a bmi of around 25 would make me look old and gaunt. But today I’m delighted to hit a BMI of 23. The scales say my visceral fat has dropped to 5 (was 12 when I started) and my body age is now a year younger than my actual age (it was 4 years older). It def feels like a party popper 🎉 moment.

hoping everyone has a great week. And I’m very jealous of everyone going somewhere lovely for whit. I need to meet a nice man who will whisk me off somewhere fabulous!

Fab results!

Your prince is out there somewhere!

I used to love pistachios. Now they make me feel ill. So weird isn’t it!

There's considerably more of a Dorothy Perkins from a decade ago/ it wasn't vintage when I bought it vintage Y2K TopShop vibe in my old wardrobe @Arglefraster!

Hi

I started the first week of November and have lost 59.5lb. I've never increased from 2.5 but will if things stop happening.

I really need to improve my water intake - some days great but other days terrible. I think this is why I get dizzy if I get up too quickly

After a few days of constipation a major evacuation occurred, and the bloody scales went up 50grams. I’m very mad at the scales.
Then I dropped my water bottle as I was about to put the lid on and it went everywhere. Thank goodness for modern flooring.
Today is not the day.

Pumpkinforever · 28/05/2025 11:36

@flametrees I had a major stall for four weeks with hardly any movement on the scales so I moved up to 7.5mg and it seems be shifting again slowly. I still have 2 stone to lose.

DarkForces · 28/05/2025 11:46

I'm on holiday and ate too much yesterday. Not loads by pre mj standards but last night was not fun! Think I'm going to have a fast day today to clear my system

Oh dear. Keep buggering on.

I’ve just nearly had my eye taken out on the plane by an American man wearing a backpack. There should be some sort of compulsory spatial awareness course men are made to take after purchasing one. And yes sir, I do mind even if it is a Louis Vuitton backpack 😂

On the upside, the air hostess just handed me a menu and said ‘you look very glamorous by the way’ I doubt that would’ve happened last November 😂

Hello all - glad to see you’re all still going strong.

I’m on W28 D3.
I’ve lost a total of 44lbs on MJ (51 lbs in total) and my BMI has gone from 33.3 to 26.

Thrilled with my overall loss but am frustrated at the moment as it feels like I’ve been going up and down the same few lbs for weeks and weeks.

It stalled a few months ago so I went up to 5mg and the weight loss kicked in again for 3 weeks and then stopped again. So I went up to 5.5mg two weeks ago and it feels like it’s not doing anything. No suppression or weight loss - only constipation 🙁. I hit my current weight for the first time about 3 weeks ago and it keeps going up and down.

I’ve lost something like 20% of my body weight now so I think I’m going to have to go higher up the doses to get to target - it just isn’t working the same way and I’m feeling more hungry than before.

I really want to get my BMI in the healthy range. Not too low as I do exercise and lift weights so have a decent muscle mass. I just don’t feel like I’m where I want to be quite yet.

How do you all manage with well-meaning people who say “oh you don’t need to lose anymore weight surely?” 🙄 It’s so annoying. It’s un-asked for advice and nothing to do with other people. But I find myself listening - partly because my weight isn’t shifting anymore, I wonder if they are right.

Cantbesure · 28/05/2025 21:23

@AlwaysTimeForWinei have gone up to 10mg and have had the same weeks where it feels like nothing is moving. But keeping going and monitoring my calories and a whoosh seems to come eventually. You’ve lost loads, that’s an incredible achievement.
