I am pretty certain that the only way that a pharmacy is allowed to sell a medication that must remain chilled is to ensure that it can be delivered to the end user exactly as cold as it would be if that end user came into the pharmacy and personally collected it.
Therefore a pharmacy that wishes to sell online MUST
a/ package the item in packaging that demonstrably keeps the pen cold for x hours
b/ have a contract with a courier that ensures delivery before x hours is up
If the pharmacy has a business brain cell, then they will make sure that they have some insurance or insurance/compensation agreement with the courier in the event that the medication is delivered after x hours and is no longer cold and the customer requests a replacement. Or, they will self insure and take the risk that the number of customers requiring replacements and causing stock 'wastage' will be comfortably covered by their profit margin anyway.
Assuming said brain cell exists, then the ONLY reasons that a pharmacy will make it difficult for a customer to obtain a replacement is that they have an inadequate staff level to chase compensations from their courier OR they have miscalculated their wastage/profit margins. Neither reason is anything to do with the customer and the customer is not responsible for the pharmacy's issues.
OR the pharmacy are greedy cunts and are just trying it on, since judging by this thread a fair proportion of complainants will just suck it up.
However any pharmacy saying if the pen is clear it is fine is DEFINITELY a greedy cunt because this is simply a lie. A pen will go cloudy if it is heated well beyond 30 degrees - I know this for a fact because I left one in my jacket pocket on a radiator a few months ago! It may also go cloudy if frozen for a long period - I don't know about this as I haven't tried it.
I also have a 5th dose left in my first pen from last July before I knew about 5th doses in a bedroom drawer that has been subjected to all sorts of UK temperature fluctuations that I have never got round to throwing away, and that still looks clear. Perhaps Oushk would consider that OK to use?
A clear pen does not mean an OK pen.
