Welcome to thread 10 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we’ve successfully navigated Easter and head towards Summer Holiday Season. Stop here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W25 D1 and on my second 7.5mg pen

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 9lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 44lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

That's an insanely brilliant idea!

Oh that’s such a good tip..will get some of those for sure.

This morning’s work team meeting went down a death jab route. Apparently everyone gets them on the black market and it’s the fault of influencers so message to the team, “can we avoid weightless jabs please” with a laugh… And this is why I’m not open about it at work! 🙄

I understand, I have told nobody other than my husband and daughter….nobody at work has asked if I have lost weight, but I get it’s a touchy subject…

Those comments are just made by ignorant people who don’t understand, who buy in to all the negative press crap, and I honestly think they should just be ignored.

We all know the truth and the stories on here show the positive impact that Mounjaro has for a lot of us.

Checking in as I’ve been a bit MIA.

SW - 17 stone 4lb
CW - 14 stone 5lb
Amount lost - 41lb.

It’s been slooooow. But steady. I see a lot of my size having lost way more. I don’t really see much of a change in the mirror although others are starting to notice, my clothes are looser but I don’t think I could go down a size. I’m going on holiday in 3 and a bit weeks and I’d love to be in the 13’s but the way I’m losing it’s unlikely. I’ll keep on keeping on though and good luck to everyone else!

I feel like you it’s the slow but steady. I’ve managed to hit a dress size below but it took ages, and even then, some of my stuff is still too tight despite them being the size I was, so I can’t figure it out. I have a stall every now and then and just have to push through it.

Nyancat · 22/04/2025 15:18

Long time lurker checking in

Sw 12 st 10
Cw 10 st 1 (may have crept up a little as on holiday)
Gw 9 st would be amazing, 9 st 7 would be good.

Currently on about 4 mg or 52 clicks of a 5mg pen.

Starting to feel much more like myself again as I get closer to pre dc weight. But need to think about changing from med express as my bmi drops because im worried they'll cut me off. I've a bit to go as the weight loss is really slowing.

Anyone else having hair loss, mine is falling out at a worrying rate at the minute.

TeenLifeMum · 22/04/2025 15:50

Mounjaropen · 22/04/2025 13:18

Completely agree. Unsolicited advice about anything non-work related is just a big no.

I should say we’re a corporate nhs team and were talking about gastric balloons one of our consultants has been trialling.

jay55 · 22/04/2025 16:50

Well I’ll stick with the death jabs over balloons and sleeves and slimming world.

I went to slimming world for a bit after having my daughter thinking it would help shift the baby weight. I didn't last long, it felt like a big shiny promotion for disordered eating. Syns ffs and the syn value of branded foods seemed to depend on whether they had partnered with SW or not. Exercise called "body magic" and maybe you shouldn't do it if it was causing you to not lose weight. There was just so much wrong with it. I ended up going back to calorie counting and exercise.

That sounds truly awful. I’ve never joined any kind of weight loss plan and having heard that I never will! I used to work for LighterLife and although the company was nice to work for I didn’t agree with the concept.

sumbum · 22/04/2025 13:59

Wk 22 D3
SW 92
CW 77.7

BMI 30
Current dose 7.5

My weight loss really has stalled for the last month, I've bobbed between 78 and 77 and this too on 7.5. I have another 7.5 in the fridge but am contemplating moving up instead. Not sure what to do!!

Measurements havent moved either and whilst I'm not over eating or binging I am comfortable eating. Still have a long way to go as i haven't even left the obese category!! I have the 5th dose to go from this pen but need to decide asap!!

Tbh school holidays never help and i now have the time to get back into a good movement and eating routine.

Don’t panic and keep going!

I know it’s frustrating but do you know your BMR? I think if you know how many calories you are eating above that plus understanding your macros that would help you identify why you have stalled? Are you drinking plenty of water?

Oh goodness, that makes it so much worse... On a par with GPs or nurses telling people off for using weight loss injections. So bad.

Thanks for the new thread! End of week 24. No loss for me this week :(

SW 14 st

First outing today in my old jeans.

Ooh thanks for the next thread. Title very apt for me -had to buy new swimsuit last week and if I say so myself it looks rather gorge. I’ve been doing the steam and sauna at my local gym and old costume was just hanging off me in not a good way. 😆

Oooh love a sauna!!

Following everyone to the new post even though I was crap at posting on the last one!

I have lost just over 4 st now and seem to be at the stage where I'm going through clothes quite quickly which is a bit annoying. I'm currently a 14 in jeans and 12-14 ish in tops but I know that in a stone and a half's time I should be back into a 10 in most shops so only a few lbs is the difference between something fitting or not.

I've just gone up to 10mg but am not sure whether I really should have stayed on 7.5mg.

4 stone! That's amazing!! Bring on the size 10s 🥳

Thanks for new thread.
Not wanting to log on and face work. Glad the may holiday isn’t too long away.

For chocolate cravings I keep a box of flakes for ice cream in the fridge, they’re individually wrapped and less than 50 calories. Enough for a chocolate hit but not enough to feel sickly.
Good to crumble on a yogurt too.

Mmmmmmm yummy top tip

SW 28st 1lb ——- JUST WOW
CW 24st 6lb —- going in right direction
GW ??? —- Thinking 11 or 12st, but will see as don’t know what that will look like on me.

Total lost so far 51lb, and looking forward to 5lb more gone to reach my 4st.

Lovely to read how everyone is doing, it’s not an easy journey for sure, but so uplifting.

Last November I would never have believed I would do this and nor how I have changed into the healthy minded person I am today…I’m so thankful for Mounjaro.

You'll get your 4st trophy in no time!

Thank you for the lovely new thread, @Mounjaropen! I am going on holiday at the end of May so I might actually see a beach during this thread.

Me! Have been shedding like crazy and my hair is already thin and fine. I’ve actually started a hair loss serum yesterday that claims to make it grow back.

SerenePeer · 22/04/2025 19:03

Thanks for the new thread @Mounjaropen and what a lcfky, positive place it is already 🥰

Scales still not moving. Bustards. But i had a massive NSV today! Ordered an outfit from Zara of all places and it bloody fits!! Size medium top and skirt and I love it 😍 Didn't feel like an absolute whale collecting my order from the store either. I usually avoid Zara as I used to find their sizing deeply depressing but I'm chuffed to bits with my new outfit! Also had to buy new knickers because I no longer owned a pair that didn't fall down 😳

I was debating moving up to 10mg next month, but I've only managed to eat half a wanky London salad tonight, so maybe I'll get to goal on 7 5mg after all.

Still laughing at myself and the rest of you caught out by hormonal fluctuations 🙈🤦‍♀️ What a bunch! 😂

SerenePeer · 22/04/2025 19:14

Anyone with hair loss…..please remember your protein and up it any way you can. Not just meat fish etc but high protein yogurts, bars, drinks or whatever you fancy…..

I think everyone is different in terms of where we lose the weight from, dropping a dress size is a great achievement so don’t lose sight of that 🥰
