Hello 👋

Thanks for the new thread!

I just posted in the previous one, day 3 for me today :)

Sprinkly · 17/02/2025 09:11

Hello,

Day four for me and down 6lb (probably mostly water). Feeling hopeful!

OvertiredandConfused · 17/02/2025 09:19

@MJSpideySenses. Sounds like you’ve got a good day planned today

I’m trying to eat a sensible version of what I might normally eat to make it sustainable. I often don’t eat breakfast anyway and on the occasions I have for the last few weeks it’s made it even harder to eat a sensible lunch and supper.

Typical day is:
B - latte or protein shake and a banana / scrambled eggs with smoked salmon
L - bagel with avocado / egg & tuna salad / high protein ready meal
D - fish with roasted veg and (4) mini potatoes / Cook ready meal with some veg / salad
Snacks - apples, melon, grapes, yoghurt

I rely quite heavily on ready meals because I have a disability that means I use a wheelchair and struggle with food preparation. I do my best to make sure they are as healthy as possible.

PandaPeacock · 17/02/2025 09:26

Did my first jab yesterday in my upper thigh and honestly didn't feel anything. Thought there would be more of a prick.

StitchH · 17/02/2025 09:29

Morning all,

W1D6 and the food noise is definitely creeping back in.
I know someone mentioned on the last post about injecting a day early each week and I have been watching a YouTube where he does the same thing.
I am tempted to inject tomorrow and use the magic 5th dose to compensate.
This is to keep the wolves at bay but also I would prefer to align my days to a weekend

Mounjaroday · 17/02/2025 09:36

I’m away for a few days and forgot to take my pen! My injection is usually Tuesday so hoping it won’t mess everything up by injecting on Wednesday (when I get home) instead.

@StitchH I defo find food noise creeps back in towards the end of each week, so hoping I can avoid temptations before I can jab again. The test will be the long drive home - we always stop off at services and grab a burger, and usually have sweets in the car too - determined not to succumb!

Hello! Week 2 day 5 and I am hungry this morning. Off work this week so will have time to make healthy meals and so some batch cooking.
I have a query- the second time I injected in my thigh and got a nasty taste at the back if my throat soon after then a bit of nausea; is this normal? I didn't get that after my first injection in my stomach.

OverTheTopOfTheMountain · 17/02/2025 09:47

Joining again. Thanks @Mounjaroday

Feb2025start · 17/02/2025 09:48

Thanks for the new thread! Nothing much to report, just marking my place 😊

@StitchH I was tempted to do this (inject every 6 days) but decided against it, partly because I wanted to test my willpower but tbh mostly because my jab day was Friday so doing that would take me to Thurs/Weds/Tues, and I'm still a bit paranoid about suddenly developing gastric side effects whilst I'm stuck in the office! However I couldn't find anything negative really about jabbing more frequently (so long as at least 3 days are left between jabs) so in your situation I probably would do it. I'm hoping once I move up to 5mg the increase in food noise towards jab day will naturally drop away...

Mounjaroday · 17/02/2025 09:50

@Justbrowsing2024 no personal experience but I was talking to a friend at the weekend, who is just at the end of her 6 month WL journey. She was talking about how she reacted differently to Mounjaro depending on where she injected.

OP posts:
OverTheTopOfTheMountain · 17/02/2025 09:51

@OvertiredandConfused there is nothing wrong with ready meals, chopped vegs etc… when you’re struggling with cooking.
Better that than not eating is my view

i have a chronic illness and I totally get where you’re coming from!

OverTheTopOfTheMountain · 17/02/2025 09:55

Interesting experience yesterday.
Felt like I needed something to eat, more like carbs etc… Ended up nipping to the corner shop and bought some crap.
By the time, I came back home, I realised that actually I was simply deeply hungry despite a nice lunch a couple of hours ago. I still ate the crap

Lesson:
Ive removed temptations from the house but I think I need to also have something to snack on if I’m actually getting hungry.
Any ideas?

LilacMoose · 17/02/2025 09:57

Weigh day today and 2nd 2.5mg shot due this evening.

SW: 207lbs (it was 209 but also the first day of my period, so using the 207 from the week before as I suspect that's more accurate)
CW: 202.4lbs
GW: 136lbs

Nearly at Onederland! I haven't seen that in a long time. I was 230ish lbs this time last year and lost a bit slowly just by calorie counting on and off, but hoping to really pick up the pace now and maintain consistency.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 17/02/2025 10:00

Thanks for the new thread.
I started yesterday and planned ahead by booking a day off work so I can just chill and get my head sorted as I'm a stress eater. Feeling fine and DH very supportive which is great.
Good luck for the week all

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 17/02/2025 10:00

Morning everyone, thanks for the new thread @Mounjaroday. I'm sure being one day late with your jab won't hurt, I wouldn't worry about it.

@Justbrowsing2024 yes, I get that horrible taste in my mouth as soon as I inject too. It's happened everytime.

Has anyone done the 5th bonus dose? I am on week 3 day 6, and I'm thinking about next week. I'm a bit scared of a syringe, but then I was scared of doing the actual jab and that turned out easy peasy.
I suppose I should look into ordering some insulin syringes, or do you reckon if I went into my local pharmacy they will sell me some. They might think I'm a drug addict though ConfusedBlush

Zibb · 17/02/2025 10:01

I took my first dose on Saturday night. I haven't noticed any effects yet but I didn't expect to (though I hoped to feel it straight away!).

I haven't started tracking calories yet and I don't plan to while on the 2.5mg dose. After years of dieting, the thought of going back to weighing every bite of food and logging it in MFP just fills me with dread right now.

I'm justing making better choices. Last night I had 4 plain scrambled eggs, 2 turkey sausages, 1 bagel thin, and 3 large mushrooms. Normally if I made breakfast for dinner it would be 5 eggs scrambled in loads of butter, 6 slices of bacon, 5 pancakes and a sea of maple syrup. Plus 4 galaxy ripples for dessert and 3-4 cans of pepsi.

I've been drinking plenty of water, about 4L a day, since Thursday. I feel a lot better for it!

I am weighing every day and logging it because I find making a little graph and seeing the overall downward trend very motivating. Before, weighing only once a week, no loss or a slight gain would see me spiral.

SW: 115.8kg
CW: 110.3kg
No goal weight currently.

I have a coat that in the new year I couldn't even close around me let alone zip up. So that's my current goal - to zip up my coat!

Poppins17 · 17/02/2025 10:13

Thanks for the new thread.

Someone mentioned on the last thread about people eating 1,200 calories.

At the moment, I’m eating more.

I worked out my calories on TDEE and my daily calories at a deficit is 1609 and 120g of protein.

I’m going to try and stick to this. Yes I’d like to lose weight quickly (doesn’t everyone), but I also don’t want to lose any hair and want to ensure it’s a lifestyle change so I’m more likely to be able to stick to it once I come off MJ.

Just thought I’d post that update in case anyone else is eating more.

My SW is 16 stone 8lbs if that helps.

Dozycuntlaters · 17/02/2025 10:17

Morning all.

Jab 4 tonight, so far I've lost 8 lbs so I'm happy with that, so hopefully after jab 4 I can take it to 10 lbs. I'm undecided whether to stay on 2.5 or go up to 5. I think I'll probably stay on 2.5 because although I do get a tiny bit of food noise, it's easy to resist it and I have had no want to binge and eat crap.

SW 13st 3
CW 12st 9

Anyone else going to stay on 2.5 for now. I will be taking the 5th dose and I'm saving on my weekly shopping bill so I'm not feeling the pinch too much paying out for it and I think the expense also stops me eating crap too.

ExplodingCarrots · 17/02/2025 10:21

Morning all!

With all the emails and info on here about delays with medexpress I thought I'd better order my next pen (5mg) just so it gets here in plenty of time and I'm not worrying . I'm only 2 jabs into 2.5 but the reorder became available yesterday.
Well I shouldn't have worried because I submitted my request at 2:30 yesterday and Royal Mail are delivering today . So anyone ordering with medexpress don't worry about reorder delays .

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 17/02/2025 10:21

Hello!

I took a 3.75 dose on Saturday. So far none of the horrendous side effects I had after my first dose have appeared but also I have almost no suppression.

I was going to stick at 3.75 for my next jab as well but might move up to the full 5mg.

StitchH · 17/02/2025 10:22

@Mounjaroday good luck. Glad to know I'm not alone.
@Feb2025start thank you. Completely get it with side effects and had some myself which is why the nudge towards weekend. Fingers crossed for the 5mg.
@Poppins17 that was myself and thank you . I was watching a lady on YouTube that was only eating 6-800 calories a day and I just thought it was so dangerous. I know it's hard with the suppression sometimes but we don't want to destroy our body when our goal for losing weight is to improve our health. IMO.

OvertiredandConfused · 17/02/2025 10:34

My target intake is 1656 @Poppins17. I have managed that twice - both times on day 7. Trouble is, I don’t want to eat more than about 1200. Forcing myself to eat seems wrong, and not a great way to develop better long-term habits. Will see how I am for the next couple of weeks.

MJSpideySenses · 17/02/2025 10:39

@ExplodingCarrots I found exactly the same, ordered yesterday and it's arriving this morning. They have also credited my account with £15.99 as I price matched.

@StitchH @Poppins17
I agree, my daily amount for a deficit is 1311cals, I'm short 😅 I wonder if it helps to stave off some of the side effects too.

@OvertiredandConfused your meals sound well balanced and nutritious to me.

Thanks for the new thread @Mounjaroday Good luck resisting temptation!

Poppins17 · 17/02/2025 10:48

I’m not sure how to describe my ‘symptoms’ - I’m not ‘hungry’ per se - but I’m not put off by food, so I can easily eat my 1600 calories a day.

I’m not having to force myself to eat, I can manage the 1600 calories easily, it’s just I’m not constantly going to the cupboard wondering what I can eat next. Likewise, I’m not craving sugary treats.

I’m trying to eat a variety of food. I was nervous to have my Sunday lunch yesterday, as I’d read about people having bad side effects but I was fine despite having mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding.

Tonight, we’re having fajitas and I’ve planned to have 50g each of the 4 dips I buy to go with them (salsa, cheese dip, guacamole and sour cream). It’s all calorie counted and added into my nutracheck app.

I’ve been very lucky that so far the only side effect I’ve experienced is being cold.

Have a great day, everyone!

SpiralSister · 17/02/2025 11:00

Thanks so much for the new thread, @Mounjaroday !

I have told no one so this thread is my support and sounding board!
