Hello everyone. I've just had my first jab after prevaricating all morning. I'm glad it's done. I came upstairs to tidy the bedroom but suddenly got so cold that I lay down on the bed, then in the bed, and now I am seriously thinking about putting the electric blanket on. I have made the cat very happy, but I think I need to have the hot water bottle ready for next week!

Hello, I'm new here and have found all your posts really interesting.
I'm week 2, day 4. I lost 2.3 kg in week one, food noise disappeared immediately and only side effects are sulphur burps on day one each week and cold. I had some sweets on Sunday which didn't go well, I felt awful, won't make that mistake again.
I have told one friend and my teenage DD (just in case anything happens).

How do you all find hiding it? I was with friends at the weekend and they were talking about someone else who is on it and they were awful. So judgemental and rude, it was really upsetting! We really need to remove the stigma i think but given how many are not telling anyone, I think it's not getting any better.

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 18/02/2025 15:13

Forgot to add...

SW 82.6kg
CW 80.3kg
GW not yet decided

@SpiralSister i have to say the loosing weight and having to replace clothes has strangely been worrying me.
im a size 22 just now. Should really be a size 16, if not 14 (I cannot remember being smaller than that even as a teen).

im wondering how I’m going to deal with it. So far, I tend to not buy stuff ‘just in case I might loose weight’ so I can’t help but thinking being on this journey isn’t going to help!

Try Vinted. And don't buy very much as you drop through the sizes. If you buy clothes with stretch then they should cover two sizes (eg Size 18 jeans will fit you at size 16 with a decent belt).

As you move down each size, sell your previous size on Vinted.

That's my plan anyway!

Zibb · 18/02/2025 16:46

I am struggling to drink enough water today. I don't quite feel sick but it just feels unpleasant in my stomach which is making it difficult. I don't usually drink hot drinks as I dislike tea and coffee but might have to try a fruity herbal tea or something.

I've told everyone I'm taking it. Everyone has been very supportive so far, especially my work colleagues. We work in hospitality so I am surrounded by amazing food and pastries and desserts every day so I don't want them trying to tempt me with something!

Sprinkly · 18/02/2025 16:55

I really need to get motivated and start moving more!

MaddyM8 · 18/02/2025 17:24

Hey guys nice to see how you're all doing. I've been quiet on here for couple days, I finally started to feel better on Sunday so day 3 after bad few days after first jab. Cannot eat much and the sulphur burps..WOW haha!

Due to take next jav Thursday gonna see how I get on... I've lost 8 lbs so far!! I was gonna wait to weigh but few people have mentioned that I look a little slimmer so curiosity got the better of me!

Hope you're all doing OK!

For the slow losers, how do you stay motivated when others have such big losses? 4.5 pounds in the first 2 weeks which I am really disappointed with given the cost of the pen.

If it helps, I would be really pleased with that!

I have lost maybe a pound in a week and I am a bit down about it

A loss is a loss, it isn't going be linear.

Did you take measurements when you started? Sometimes the scales don't move too much but you are losing in cm/inches
(This happened to me on the second week) I find this quite motivating.

Mounjaronewbie25 · 18/02/2025 18:41

@Justbrowsing2024 agree with @partyfoodpickingpiggy definitely get the tape measure out. There will be times when you feel slimmer but it doesn’t show on the scale.

I suspect that im going to be a slow loser, 4lb first week but only 1lb so far half way into week 2.
I would love to get some bigger numbers as its expensive stuff and Im being really good food wise, but slow and steady might have to do.
Positives to slow loss - skin has time to adjust, hair isnt shocked into shedding (hopefully), energy levels are constant, I'm feeling well in general.
Maybe it'll speed up on 5 or higher but even at 1 lb a week I'll get there in the end.

Acolite · 18/02/2025 18:46

Hi All
W1D2 here. Today was very similar to yesterday - slight nausea in the morning and no appetite all day. I was eating a bowl of pasta for lunch, which is quite a normal lunch for me. I was scrolling on my phone at the same time (yes, I know it’s a bad habit) when I realised I had just stopped eating half way through the bowl with no desire to eat more. Two days ago, I would have had all the pasta, then a packet of crisps and a Kit Kat, or two! My mind is slightly blown by the change.
Have put prunes on the shopping list as I think things are going that way. 😀

I think you have to take your starting weight/BMI into account. The people with the most to lose will definitely get the biggest initial losses.

I have 4 and a half stone to lose to get to the top of healthy BMI so it's seems a mammoth task with slow losses. It's also hard because suppression is wearing off by day 4/5 so I am really hungry but haven't caved yet!

OntheTrainX · 18/02/2025 19:13

As well as the tape measure, there’s the feeling of a pair of too-tight jeans getting a little bit more comfortable, even if the scales aren’t giving you great news.

MaddyM8 · 18/02/2025 19:21

If it's any consolation I have lost quite a lot which hasn't been a shock as I was bedridden for 3 days after taking my first dose and only managed 1 piece of toast and 2 cups of tea over that time as I was incredibly unwell
