I’m going to a friend’s birthday gathering tomorrow. First time drinking alcohol. Will take it easy, see how it goes.

I'm going out for my birthday drinks tonight, I had a pathetic one drink last week and was OK lol hardly a test. A few good friends know and so does hubbie so hopefully can sneak in some soft drinks

Hi everyone! Just joining the ‘party’ my first batch of mounjaro should arrive in the next couple of days. I’m a little nervous and very excited.

im starting at 19st10
GW is 12st (according to NHS, but even at my leanest when I was an international ice skater I’ve never been less than 12st9 so taking it with a pinch of salt)

I gained a lot of weight due to other health issues and Currently I can’t excercise because I have an old knee injury which can’t cope with the large weight I’m carrying. So for the last year I’ve been trying (and failing) to lose weight just by dieting. But stress and other things have made me crap at it so I only lost 1stone over the whole year. I’m now hoping Mounjaro will give me a bit more ‘oomph’.

because I’m targeting such significant weight loss I’m a bit concerned about ending up with loose skin. Does anyone have any tips? I was thinking maybe collagen creams?

I’m taking powdered collagen (from a company called Ancient and Brave - no idea if it’s a good one or not but the jar was pretty and I was swayed by that 😆) each morning in my coffee. I don’t know whether it’ll actually make a difference or not, but I figured it can’t hurt!

Verbenabon · 02/03/2025 07:41

Hi everyone, it’s been my first week on 2.5mg and doing my second dose this morning.

Lost 5lbs but don’t expect that to continue at such a rate. It’s been absolutely remarkable how I’ve been able to make the changes to my diet so easily. My cravings usually dictate what I eat but not this week!

Only a few minor side effects too. Does anyone else feel cold and is shivering at night when falling asleep?

Worth having some vitamin C with it too as ot helps absorption/use of the collagen. Esp if you have joint problems.

Ohsoverytired11 · 02/03/2025 10:47

3rd weight in today and time to take 4th dose. 3.2lbs off this week!

SW: 14st 2.6lb
CW: 13st 6.2lb

So 10.4lbs lost in 3 weeks which I'm delighted with!

WLINewbie · 02/03/2025 11:28

Hi guys

We're on thread 3 now, the link is further up, come join us xx

Mounjaroday · 02/03/2025 11:33

@Verbenabon i’m freeeeeeeezing as I go to bed at night. Double blankets over my duvet and everything. Most weird.

Well done @Ohsoverytired11 that’s incredible!

Nice one @WLINewbie - see you back on the next thread xx

Iv been using this one for at least a year, iv noticed my hair feels better and not as many aches and pains, I also use their creatine powder as iv started doing strength training too.

Quick check-in from me…weighed in at just over a 14st 1lbs this morning, so about a stone loss in the first month. Definitely ready to up to 5mg this coming Tuesday.
For anyone using Med-Express, I found out recently they do a Blue Light discount so emailed them. It’s usually only on first purchase but as a goodwill gesture they’ve credited me with £45 which I’ll use against my third pen. Sorry if it’s been said on here already, but I’m dead chuffed and wanted to share.

MaddyM8 · 03/03/2025 09:52

Hey everyone hope you're all doing OK!

Third jab taken Saturday (had to miss couple days as was poorly) and injected in thigh instead of arm and the side effects are not as bad thank God!

Loving seeing all your losses! ❤️

SW: 13 stone 10
CW: 12 stone 7
GW: 11 stone to start

So that's a loss of 1 stone 3lbs 🎉🎉

Ooh thanks for this @WileyCyrus I have blue light so I’ll see if they can give me a blue light discount for my second pen.

1st week almost done here, I was feeling good until the weekend when the suppression eased off and I have a few more treats than I had been having although not as much as I normally would so I’m hoping it hasn’t impacted the loss too much. Weigh in and second jab tomorrow!

Omg I’m the same with the cold! I seem fine in the day but in bed I am shivering, even with thick pjs and an extra blanket.

Morning all!
W2d1
I've lost 4lb in my first week. Very disappointed as I'd hoped for nearer 5 stones but it's a start 😉
Second inj done and ready to hit the week!
Stay strong and good luck everyone

Ashabeth · 03/03/2025 13:15

Has anyone else found they've had MONSTROUS hangovers with Mounjaro? 😓
I used to be a seasoned drinker to say the least (a bottle a night plus more at the weekend). One of the pros to Mounjaro and probably the main contributor to my weight loss is that I've hardly drank (nothing on weekdays and maybe a glass or 2 at the weekend)

Well... Saturday I went for a games night with friends and found myself finishing a bottle of wine... granted I'd not eaten much but Sunday I woke up with the worst hangover I think I've ever had. I was so sick and slept almost all day.

Thankfully i'm now newly motivated not to try and drink on this and I'm back with a nice long walk today and healthy planned meals for the week 💪Water at the ready!! 💦

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 03/03/2025 14:34

@Ashabeth yes me! Drank similarly to you and never had a hangover. I just can't tolerate it anymore, I'm barely drinking which is great (and the odd time that I have I definitely felt it the next day)

It's such a crazy contrast but 100% grateful for it as DP and I are forever swearing off booze in the week and failing... until now!
It just doesn't have the appeal anymore and if I feel like I did yesterday, I don't want it! 😂

Ha ha I feel like this sometimes when it's been a challenging day and I think I should have lost at least half a stone today!

WoolerOwl · 05/03/2025 10:04

I've had a good first week on 2.5. Just taken second jab. Felt cold quite a lot of the time. Slight headache and lightheadedness initially. A disturbed night's sleep the first night. But generally, I feel so much better -- more alert, less joint pain, clothes feel looser. I have no food noise and a reduced appetite, and have been eating healthily with some intermittent fasting (food window 1pm - 7pm). Have drunk loads of water and taken magnesium to ward off the constipation. Next week I am on holiday, so need to make sure I stay sensible around the breakfast buffer. And do plenty of exercise, which I have struggled with as part of regular life.
