Ooh which one are you after?

I was thinking either the Lyra or the Venus! but this would be a huge departure from my normal style and i would 100% need to be down close to 70kg i think to overcome the c-section tummy

I had understood it could be out of the fridge for 30 days so once you started using it basically it's fine out

Oh excellent!
I was just getting worried it could damage the product and create problems for you.

Also quite handy to know for me!! I was wondering how to deal with going away on hols fir two weeks….

Poppins17 · 18/02/2025 10:37

Lovely to hear about the events people are working towards.

Nothing specific for me this year ( I had 2 weddings last year). We’re going to the Canaries for a week in 6 weeks time so need to decide in a couple of weeks whether to stay on 2.5 or move to 5 before we go.

We have three trips to Cornwall this year, the first at Easter, so I’d like to think I’d have lost between 1 and 2 stone by then. The next is June and then August bank holiday - I’m hoping by August I’ll almost be at goal.

My aim is to be a small size 14. I’ve never been anything less even in my teen years as I have big bones. I’m currently selling all my size 18’s on Vinted and will slowly start selling the 16’s I don’t absolutely love. The aim is just to keep one small box of my favourite 16’s but to stay in 14 forever. That’s my goal anyway.

Jab day and week 4 for me today.

I have just weighed and I have lost 3lb this week, so In 3 weeks I have lost a total of 11lb. So happy!

I don't have a specific event but I'm hoping by spring time I can wear fit into my old lovely clothes and stop wearing baggy comfy supermarket stuff.

viktoria · 18/02/2025 10:51

Had my first 5mg jab on Saturday
On Sunday I had two boiled eggs and immediately -briefly - felt very nauseous - but that was it in terms of side effects (other than continuing to feel absolutely freezing all the time). I'm very relieved!

I was unsure if I should move up to 5mg after 4 weeks - but I'm glad I did. I don't know if my first enthusiasm has worn off a bit, but I feel my appetite has increased. Even on 5mg
Still - nothing like it was before

And @Mounjaroday thanks for the new thread.

I have a few events August to October I'd like to look as well as possible for. I won't be at target but should hopefully be into the high 60s.

0987654321q · 18/02/2025 10:55

Been waiting for a delivery time only to see Oushk changed delivery date to tomorrow without telling me. Not happy about that as today was also available when I applied. Have requested a refund and will just have to lie to DH about what parcel is. 😡

Mounjaronewbie25 · 18/02/2025 11:05

Littlebitpsycho · 18/02/2025 09:00

Just done my week 2 weigh in - absolutely shocked I'm not gonna lie!

SW 13st 11lb
W1 13st 6lb
CW 12st 12lb

So 8lb loss this week! And 13lb in 2 weeks!

Given me some motivation to push through until 3rd jab tomorrow because food noise is back today with a vengeance!

Well done @Littlebitpsycho 😮 that’s amazing!

Week 1 Day 3 for me, not feeling hungry at all this morning which is so weird to me.

Awful belly cramps and diarrhoea early hours of this morning.

Mounjaronewbie25 · 18/02/2025 11:08

Event I’m working towards is my own wedding in July! Don’t want to feel uncomfortable on the day and hope to have nice photos to look back at.

Ilovelemonandsugarpancakes · 18/02/2025 11:11

@Littlebitpsycho That loss is amazing! x

fortyfix · 18/02/2025 11:12

Week 1 Day 1
Good morning and hello to everyone. I'm a new member to this forum and have just officially started the SheMed trial today and had my first injection. I had really hyped myself up and asked my husband to inject into my arm. I felt it as opposed to reading what others said about not feeling a thing but I guess I was hyper alert to it.
I've had egg and toast since and now just waiting for things to kick in.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and share my journey alongside you all. I'm a 42 year old mum of 3 and have developed bad habits in the chaos of parenting and work.
What can I expect in the first 12 hours of mounjaro?

SW:15 stones 8.6 lbs/99.5kg

GW: 11 stones / 70 kg

I listened to this Oprah podcast that @mysparkleismissing recommended yesterday and it was very interesting. She is talking to a doctor about GLP1s.

The most interesting part for me was when the doctor said obesity is classed as a disease and the weight is just the symptom of the disease. So you take the medicine, lose the weight, but have to keep taking the medicine because you still have the disease. Exactly like diabetics or people with high blood pressure take their medicine which gets rid of the symptoms but they can't come off the medicine.

The doctor also stresses that being obese is not your fault. Your body has a high set weight point and you can lose the weight but you will always gain it back without this medicine which changes the weight set point in your brain. That's my understanding of what the doctor said.

I also found it interesting when Oprah said she did a show about alcoholism in the late 80s and the doctors told people it was a disease. She said the audience thought that was rubbish, " they were just drunks and lazy ", " they didn't want to quit alcohol ", etc. Now of course everyone sees alcoholism as a disease. Obesity is the same thing.

I would really recommend listening.

Morning lovelies! Some brilliant losses here, well done!

I did my second jab last night and slept all night! This never happens..
It was probably the antihistamine I popped at the same time to avoid the angry jab site I got last time. Worked a treat. Still feel exactly the same, although I think MJ is slowing down my digestive system which with IBS is actually great!

Loving the chat about clothes. I absolutely adore fashion, and have never let my size (18-20) stand in the way I must say. Fat people deserve fashion too!

I have to admit that potentially seeing my fave things become too big was a worry (bonkers), so I have made some lists along the following lines as a motivator:

  1. Things that are too big already (20’s): Vinted or charity shop. Scour same for replacements.
  2. Things that I can wear, but that would look better with some weight loss: keep and rejoice!
  3. Things I can’t get into yet but had kidded myself about: look forward to wearing these!
  4. Dream clothes that would simply look better on a smaller size: fund these when at goal by Vinting the above stuff
  5. Clear out wardrobe(s!) and drawers when needed and replace underwear and swimwear

If you are a list type person this might work for you?

Mounjaronewbie25 · 18/02/2025 11:41

@SpiralSister oh yes I like that, good idea! Very positive goals.

Definitely going to give that a listen. Thanks for sharing! Have struggled with food and my weight all my life and wondered why it was so easy for other people to just not binge on crap or get fat.

Thank you for this. Listening to this now and it is so relatable.

I think its doing something 2 days post jab, I forgot my preprepared lunch and usually I'd go to Tesco and buy all the sweets and choc but today i'm just not bothered. I had porridge for breakfast and then i think i can wait until dinner time and then be able to have a slightly bigger dinner. It'll save me money by not spending £10 a day at lunch time

I've also had a few sulphur burps which isn't great!

So cold again after second jab!

Have a hot water bottle..

Feb2025start · 18/02/2025 13:05

@hennybeans @mysparkleismissing thanks for the podcast recommendation - sounds so interesting! I have a couple of hours to kill on a Megabus later on so will have a listen. I'm certainly anticipating being on this for life (hopefully it'll reduce in price eventually...)

Same! I'm sat at my desk at work wearing a coat and scarf and contemplating whether gloves would be a step too far 🤣. Everyone else is in normal workwear, shirts/dresses/smart tops etc!

OverTheTopOfTheMountain · 18/02/2025 13:48

@SpiralSister i have to say the loosing weight and having to replace clothes has strangely been worrying me.
im a size 22 just now. Should really be a size 16, if not 14 (I cannot remember being smaller than that even as a teen).

im wondering how I’m going to deal with it. So far, I tend to not buy stuff ‘just in case I might loose weight’ so I can’t help but thinking being on this journey isn’t going to help!

keeponplodding7 · 18/02/2025 14:02

Took my second jab this morning and pretty much instant suppression and nausea - much more then week 1. Anyone else find this - I guess it makes sense but I’m not liking this feeling !!

MatriarchCaz · 18/02/2025 14:29

Marking my place, had second injection today.

SW - 90.1kg
CW - 88.8kg

Taking it slow and counting calories. Only 5ft 1in so that doesn't help lol.
