Have you got a link or supplier for the needles? I presume they are already sterile? I need to research how to do it for sure!

I get mine from ukmedi online -
1ml 8mm 30g BD Microfine Syringe and Needle u100 × 20 £8.99
As least you know they're medical grade and sterile.

ThirdStorm · 17/01/2025 16:17

I love that this thread is so diverse, to boobs, to bums, to needles, to NSV - we have it all!

KrankyKumquat · 18/01/2025 11:40

@ThirdStorm
Yes, you're absolutely right. Just women helping each other out, no egos, no agendas. I'd never even been on MN before MJ (can't remember how I ended up here) as I thought it was just women talking about their kids and I don't have any. How wrong was I?

Anyways...I finally learned how to do a screenshot on my phone and now want to use it, so here's my latest Renpho stuff. Hit BMI 21.0 this morning (yes, still slowly losing on maintenance but will definitely not go below 10st even if it means cracking open the Christmas chocks), 3 years under metabolic age is very exciting and visceral fat is still dropping but blimey, how much blood do you have to shed to get subcut fat out of high? Must be my chubby knees.

I have spent over a week trying to catch up and I've finally done it!

I hit target before Christmas and have basically maintained fluctuating by a couple lbs up and down. I've even screenshot a wiggly graph to share. I think I have a secret new target weight of 9st as I'm still trying to get rid of belly fat. BMI is 23.5 so can happily lose another stone or more and be well in healthy. I'm just worried if I get to 9lb my brain will say ooh I wonder what 8st 7 looks/feels like. I still don't feel slim really despite weighing the least I ever have as an adult, and maybe since about age 13 to be honest.

Re bra talk. I've had some bargains from www.brastop.co.uk. I've just worn what I could look least bad in whilst losing and haven't measured but my 34F has a slightly loose cup. Bought some 32E which are great around but I have some boob/loose skin under arms so am swapping for 32F in the hope that's the magic number and can swoop that boob/loose skin into the cup. My boobs have shrunk massively despite only really going from 36/38F but the cup size reduces a lot with the band sizing. A 32F is by no means buxom but sounds it.

Yesterday I had my first pen that I couldn't hard twist for a 5th dose. Have they done something to the design then as others are finding this? Might have to get some needles to extract in future but I did chuck yesterday's pen in the bin. Just started a new 12.5 but will be ordering a 10 next I think. I wanted to work my way down the doses slowly but hubby has been made redundant so depending on how soon he finds work my MJ journey may be affected. I have a 7.5 in the fridge and so after buying my 10 I'll be buying 5mg. I'm hoping we can afford for me to stay on that long term.

Also in the saggy butt club! Apart from a weekly pilates class I've not exercised at all. I do have some dumbbells, a kettle bell and some dvds so I really need to do something, and I'd like to start taking a lunchtime walk but it's so cold. I definitely will come springtime though.

This thread is still such inspiring reading, I shall try harder to keep up as I think I need it whilst keeping going.

NCfor24 · 18/01/2025 12:42

Forgot my graph. My goal was 133lb. I still weigh most days.
Bizarrely lost 2lb this week whilst eating more...I've been in the office and buying sandwiches for lunch. Apart from the waste of money they really aren't the best thing! I'm like a child though now and leave the crusts and often don't finish the second half and pick the filling out. I used to demolish a sandwich/crisps/fizzy drink meal deal and it's almost impossible now.

Well done on hitting target @NCfor24 and maintaining during the Christmas period. Yes, new stone targets are very tempting, hence my 'must not go below 10st', my last goal was 11st and before that BMI 25/12st.
Thanks for the info re cheap bras - will check out the brastop.
Yes, lots of people reporting they can't do a hard turn to get 5th dose out anymore, they must have changed the design somehow. I've always used a syringe - honestly, it's fine.
Sorry to hear about your hubby's job and hope you are able to sort things out. I've been reducing to 5mg by 1mg a week, using a 10mg pen and will now be using a 7.5mg pen to do a couple of months at 5mg. If you can live with the risk, it halves the cost.

P.s I too now leave the crusts...and cut fat off meat. The dog loves me even more than he did before!

NextPrimeMinister · 18/01/2025 19:22

Well done @NCfor24 👏

My first week on 10mg maintain dose came with a pound weightloss.

I have been hungry, but have been able to acknowledge and ignore.

Let's see how next week goes....

NCfor24 · 18/01/2025 19:22

Thanks @KrankyKumquat I might have to look at the charts for counting clicks. I've been on 12.5 for 3 or 4 months now so may do a couple more weeks to lose another 1 or 2lb then step down to 10 and see how I go. The risk of going over 30 days doesn't bother me at all. And I'll buy some needles to extract the last dose too, I really need to stretch my pens out now.

Wonkypictureframe · 18/01/2025 22:35

I’m going to do next month on 2.5mg. I’ve been off the jabs for a month now and am 2lbs heavier than when I stopped, which is totally fine, but I do have to be disciplined about not giving in to hunger - I’m away for a week in Feb and totally could put on half a stone in a week (have done before on a single trip) so the jab will hopefully help control my appetite.

chrispenrallt1 · 19/01/2025 05:04

On holiday and by the pool . For the first time in many many years I am not looking around to see if there is anyone the same size as me . Not confident enough to wear a bikini but at 9 stone 2 instead of well over 13 stone I’m happy . Up thread I posted about my desire to own a pair of Levi Jeans. I’m out of UK at the moment and to my delight there is a Levi Jean shop here . I called in there and long story short I’m now the proud owner of a pair of slim fit Levi’s and they are size 27 waist . The man in the shop was so charming and helpful I didn’t feel embarrassed at all . I picked up a t shirt too in large and he took it from me and said far too big try this in small . Ladies it fitted a treat . I think it takes a long time to get used to being a smaller size .
i love this thread I have learned so much since the start of my journey . I only wish I could have had this 20 years ago !

ThirdStorm · 19/01/2025 07:39

@chrispenrallt1 you are so right about it taking time to adjust. I still reach for a 16 when I’m a 12! But in some shops I wear 14 and 16 so that doesn’t help! Ha!

KrankyKumquat · 19/01/2025 07:48

@chrispenrallt1
Congratulations on the Levi's! I was the one who posted before about getting a first pair - so glad you found a shop.

Femeia · 19/01/2025 14:11

Thanks for the tips about needles, I'll take a look.
Also Brastop - I've done the Boob or Bust measurements and come out as a 34FF. I've been in a 40G which is definitely too loose now so that sounds about right.

Bolt wanted updated info and a photo from me as I've been with them for 6 months. The front on photo they wanted doesn't really show the extent of my mum-belly so I hope they don't turn me down for more pens.

YouAreEffluentKim · 20/01/2025 11:56

@chrispenrallt1 what I wouldn't give to be somewhere got and lounging around a pool! I'm really struggling with feeling freezing cold all the time. I find my body reacts to changes in temperature so even when I'm in a warm environment having just come from a cold one, I get the shivers and stay absolutely freezing for ages. My body literally shakes and my hands are a lovely 'dead' colour. I really need some warmer temps to hurry up and get here.

On the jeans front, I got some 27W Levi's 501s and some 26W ones. I struggle to make either look good but I think it's the length or perhaps just the style. So I went and tried on some M&S carrot leg and wide leg jeans on the weekend.

Dear God.

I've never not had a butt before and these styles were both HORRENDOUS on me. I tried them both in size 10S as I'm only 5'1 but it seems M&S don't scale the back pockets down in the short length. So that, combined with having the flattest butt known to medical science, meant the back pockets ended mid-thigh on me! They looked atrocious Blush

But I then had success in River Island of all places, which is a shop I've never purchased anything from. I got barrel leg and wide leg jeans in size 8S and they looked atrocious great. I think there must be a bit of vanity sizing there, but I was so pleased to finally get some jeans that look good.

I'm still 2kg away from what I think will be my final goal weight of 53kg, which is right in the middle of the healthy BMI range. I don't seem to have lost anything since before Christmas so I probably need to knuckle down a bit. Wine consumption has crept up as it's the only thing that warms me up (!) but clearly that's not great... I'm happy at 55ish though and perhaps that extra 5lb/2kg won't make terribly much of a difference in terms of my size

Sorry, long rambling post! Am working from home today and just can't seem to focus

imnottoofussed · 20/01/2025 13:00

Ergh I've been having a really weird month so far since moving up to 12.5mg

I seem to have some issues with my sinuses with a minor facial pain and some drainage down the back of the throat.

Constantly feeling a complete lack of energy and a spaced out floaty head feeling.

Then also started with that blood pressure type thing where you feel faint and nearly blacking out when standing up from sitting.

So I'm not sure if this is two separate things.

Related to mounjaro or not 🤷‍♀️

I'm eating exactly the same as I've eaten for the previous months which is usually 1200 cals. In fact this week I've started eating more just to see if that helps but so far no improvement in any of the symptoms so doesn't seem to be diet related.

Scalessayeek · 20/01/2025 20:49

@imnottoofussed I've been having sinus pain, ear pain and a fair few headaches which have probably coincided going up to 12.5mg. I thought I'd been fighting colds for a few months but maybe it is the meds?! It seems to be getting worse too. I'm not planning on going up to 15mg as hoping to get to goal in the next 6 or so weeks so will see if it improves when titrating down.

imnottoofussed · 20/01/2025 21:06

@Scalessayeek I'm also not planning on moving up. In fact considering moving down to 10mg to see if that improves these symptoms. I have one dose left on this pen then I've got another 12.5mg and some smaller pens so will decide what to do then.

TitsInAbsentia · 20/01/2025 22:08

Interested to hear others haven't been able to twist pens for the final dose, I thought it was just me but the last couple haven't budged so have ended up using syringes.

I'm still plugging on but getting a bit frustrated. I probably need to speak to Hira or something (if I can get near a call with her because the fan club seem to want to speak to her every week!). I've had to come down from 12.5 as I just couldn't eat, even trying to finish a small meal of salmon and asparagus and a new potato is a mission. I've no desire to be under 1000 cals a day and losing my hard worked for muscle. I'm aware my exercise might be going against me too but not giving up! I've got a 10mg in the fridge and will see how I go.

I didn't plan to be on this for a year but I'm in month 11 now 😂 still, feeling very very much better for the 3st 7 that's been chipped off. Achievement for today is sending back a pair of size 14 trousers for being too big - that's a win!

Mortigua · 21/01/2025 04:01

I have now ordered through she med - put on an extra pound and it did the trick 😢
really need to sort myself out again as I’m definitely not having the success of most here but I think I am still self sabotaging to a certain extent .
Also wondering about storage as I tend to store mine in the fridge then move to the drawer in my room once it’s open . Is this still considered ok. /is it what others are doing ? I wonder if I’d be better leaving it in the fridge .

NextPrimeMinister · 21/01/2025 07:45

I've always kept mine in the fridge. I know at the start it was said it's ok not to refrigerate once opened, but I never wanted to risk it.

But then I keep my ketchup in the fridge!

CiderJabs · 21/01/2025 09:50

Morning all. Been awol for a while, licking my wounds over Xmas gain. But am back on track now. Took 5mg last week and have now reached 9st 7.4 which is my lowest - ever - and where I'd like to stay. Trying to decide if I'll stick to 5 for another week or two.
I've always kept my pen in the fridge for the whole time - but I've also been using it for over 30 days.

Choux · 21/01/2025 10:52

Same as @CiderJabs - my pens are in the fridge and I don't worry too much about going over 30 days.

Currently I have never gone more than about 40 days and not with every pen but I think it's a small risk of issues (and I would weep at throwing expensive medication away)

Choux · 21/01/2025 10:53

My ketchup, jam and eggs are also in the fridge.

Mortigua · 21/01/2025 10:55

thank you . Oh wow I hope I’ve not been wasting it by keeping it outside of the fridge - it’s in my bedroom drawer and I guess it’s reasonably warm in the room. I’ve done the blood test for she med this morning and keeping fingers crossed I’m accepted

Choux · 21/01/2025 10:59

@Mortigua I wouldn't stress too much about the storage. Thinking about it on Nov I went on holiday to stay with family for two weeks. I kept my pen in my case the whole time and it had an expiry date of end of November. I was using it till mid December although probably not over 30 days since first use.

So expired pen and not in fridge but I still had suppression from it and had no issues.
