I'm 5'3 size 12/14 and don't think losing another few lbs is going to shrink me much so I'm pretty much done and just about BMI 24.8 or something.
My apron will also stop me being "slim". I feel better, more confident, can move around more easily.
I'm a 44yo mum of 3, I'm not chasing looking like a model. Plus at this point my loose skin is bad and I don't want it to get worse which if I lose much more it will do.

KrankyKumquat · 15/11/2024 10:50

Official weigh day for me today and I've dragged my non-existant arse into the 10s with a loss of 1lb😊10st 13.2lb, BMI 22.6. And for the first time in 21years, I weigh less my partner. Quite a day...

Extremely pleased given we were in London for the weekend (Remembrance Parade was fab, but spotting OH in TV coverage was quite a test; we re-watched several times and managed to get a photo off the telly of his beret and eyes in the parade of 10,000 veterans!). Plus, I left my jab for 9 days for the first time. Incidentally, this had zero impact on hunger which bodes well for fiddling about during maintenance dosing. OH drank a lot of beer with his old Army mates so he's got a good excuse for now weighing more than me 😅

Well done@NCfor24 at getting to a weight you're happy with. My skin is getting very odd in places, with some very random wrinkley patches such as inside elbow when I bend my arm. I now know what crepe skin is.

That's brilliant @KrankyKumquat well done on reaching the 10s! Loving the image of you scouring TV coverage for the right man.

Cheers! He was blocked from the view of cameras by a man apparently called Billy Big Bollocks! Bet he's loved having that nickname for 50 years 😅

@AgathaMystery I have always aimed for 10st5 as my goal weight. This puts me -at 5'3" just over 25 BMI. But this has been my usual adult not fat weight. As I am likely to achieve that within 2 weeks, I may drift a bit lower before I start titrating down. I know someone up thread at my height was aiming for 8st 6 or thereabouts but that is not realistic for me. At my goal weight I wear size 10-12, and I dont want to look hagard.

I have been posting about my woes on 7.5, today I am somewhat better, just trying to eat a little, slowly.

MrsNessaSmithy · 15/11/2024 15:17

@Moanranger we are the same height and I am aiming for 9.13 just to get under 10 and I will be a comfortable 12 maybe 10 in some brands. No way could I go another stone or more down.

Shows how differently people carry weight, I'm 9.13 at 5'3 and size 12-14 and very squishy still!
At 9.9 pre children I was a size 10. I totally blame pregnancy but suspect some exercise would tighten things up and help me become a comfy size 12.

Moanranger · 15/11/2024 15:49

Yes, @MrsNessaSmithy @NCfor24 I have a peasant build - rack-like shoulders, wide rib cage, big knee and ankle bones, not particularly broad hips. And muscles to match. Size 7 feet. I would definitely look gaunt much below 10 stone.

CiderJabs · 15/11/2024 15:50

Official weigh in and I'm 9st 11. So I'm still wavering between 9-9 and 9-13. I've taken 3.75 today and have now decided to do this for at least the next 4 weeks. I have been feeling more hungry which is ok (but period time has been a bastard). It will be Xmas before we know it so I'll have to see how that goes and then reassess my dose in jan.

Question for anyone using a 7.5 pen - do any of you have a pen that expires later than April 25?

Have you found 7.5mg difficult?

I took 10mg last night & bloody hell I felt dreadful today. The dreaded brutish is back and this time, proper nausea. The first time it’s been this bad for me.

Moanranger · 15/11/2024 20:58

@AgathaMystery Yes, very much so. A lot of fatigue & it is v difficult to eat. I am going to stick with it (4 more dosed) & then titrate down

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 16/11/2024 07:32

I love how close so many of you are to goal! It's so inspiring!

@AgathaMystery I found 10mg really tough for weeks and weeks. I ended up split dosing for a couple of months which really helped. I'd do 8mg by counting clicks, and about 4 days later do the last 2mg. That was a good way to avoid side effects for me. I've been on 10mg for more than 4 months now and I don't need to split dose anymore, and it still works. I'll prob stay on 10mg now unless it drastically stops working.

I'm about 3 weeks into strength training 6 days a week and going on long marching power walks a few days a week. The effect on my weight loss has been dramatic! All of a sudden, everyone is commenting on how good I look - it's a brilliant confidence booster, however it makes me very shy! I'm about half a lb off my Xmas target weight too.

AgathaMystery · 16/11/2024 09:31

@JanetSnakeholeMacklin thats so interesting! I am thinking to drop back down to 8/9 next week. This has been too much!

It is amazing how close so many are to goal. Such hard work and such a journey. If anyone had said so me last Christmas that I’d be this weight I would have declared it impossible.

KrankyKumquat · 16/11/2024 10:03

Am I the only one who feels like Christmas is still a long way off? Must be the mild weather. However, just seen a post on FB for my pharmacy which says they'll be closed 21st Dec until 3rd Jan, last date for deliveries is 21st and orders placed around then won't be sent out till the New Year. Suddenly realised I need to order 2 pens this month, due to the date my current pen will be finished.
Just posting so others can check their own position, would be awful to be left high and dry with no medication during the whole of the Christmas and New Year period.

Oooo thank you!

I feel the same about Christmas but I think it's denial tbh 😆

NCfor24 · 16/11/2024 10:39

@JanetSnakeholeMacklin your post might just be the thing that motivates me to exercise!
My losses are slow now, I refuse to say I've stalled...and I need to shake things up!
I walked up a short steepish hill last week for the first time since starting this and was only when I got to the top I realised how much easier it was than last time. So easy in fact I hadn't really registered it, I was just walking. It definitely would have had me out of breath 4 stone heavier! My bottom muscles felt it the next day though.
I do pilates once a week but do need to introduce weights and walk a lot more. I'm much bigger than I was at a similar weight years ago when I used to run. I'm not sure I'll run again but exercise definitely makes everything tighter.

Edited for typos

I hear you!
I was horrified to realise I need to buy 2 x 10mg pens and do all the Christmas shopping out of this month's pay check as I don't get December's pay until 24th. Bloody hell...

Moanranger · 16/11/2024 11:42

@AgathaMystery @JanetSnakeholeMacklin I think I will split my next dose which will hopefully reduce side effects. I am only 0.9kg from goal ( which confusingly Nutracheck translates to 2.5 lbs, which is wrong!) I should lose that PDQ & then start the maintenance journey. Well done on exercising; I was on a strict gym routine before I started MJ (35 weeks ago) which I have kept up, esp now that I am 41 lbs lighter ( ca 20% of my original body weight). The fatigue means I struggle to add to this, and exercise helps a lot with WL/maintenance.
I am hoping with titrating down to still have my appetite dulled ( not knocked out as it is at present, which I find unpleasant) but have a bit more energy - fatigue wasn’t this bad on lower doses.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 16/11/2024 20:05

@NCfor24 this is exactly how I feel. I'm 40 with 2 young kids and have no need to be thin or chase model size.

My skin isn't great now and I'm worried I'll lose more off my chest which will make my stomach look even worse. I have an apron which I'll never get rid of, but at least it no longer looks like I have an arse on the front which I think it probably did when I was a size 20. I have a sticky-out bit between my boobs and apron as my muscles were wrecked during pregnancy. No matter how much more I lose, it won't come off this area so there's no point losing much more.

Today I was exactly 10st so finally made my original target. I want a couple more pounds off to get to 6st loss, then I'm aiming for maintenance.

I chickened out of dropping to 7.5mg though and opened a new 10mg pen as I'm due my period soon and I'm starving. I might do 2 weeks at 10mg then drop to 7.5mg from the 10mg pen.

Had a proper try on of my wedding dress and accessories. It's definitely too big - will have to learn how to take it in, but I suppose I don't have to worry about gaining a bit of weight when I start reducing my MJ dose.

Do it!! 💪

My work bestie is one of those jacked guys that works out in the gym 6 days a week. I decided to match him and work out six days a week too. My goal is to do 100 strength workouts before the end of Feb. Between him and my husband, they designed me a work out schedule and I've stuck to it. (If you wanna know what it is, DM me and I'll send you what I do - it's good for any newbie apparently)

I want it to be a habit like brushing my teeth - something I HAVE to do. I'm 3 weeks in and starting to really enjoy it too - I thought it would take longer to enjoy. And with the walking - I was like you. Absolutely amazed and how much easier I can walk these days, and I'm fitter than I thought I was. I guess being 4+ stone lighter makes a difference. The other day in the gym I put on a weighted vest that weighed 15kg - about half the weight I've lost. I could barely do one squat - it was so heavy! And we used to carry double that around every day.

Hello all , I’ve been absent from here ages again but I’ve just had a skim read to try to catch up and looks like you’re all doing really well.
I’m on 12.5 now after a break then building back up again . I’m 13.1 down from 14.10 ish to start with (I say ish as I got to that then was too scared to weigh so suspect it may have been higher at one point !)
I am in the middle of the overweight bit in bmi and wondering what I’ll do because it seems to be working but slowly and I can’t see how I’ll come off but I can’t afford £200 a month at all - just increased my overdraft again!

thehousewiththesagegreensofa · 17/11/2024 09:25

Oooohhh!! Hello! I had no idea that you were all still chatting. I feel as though I've lost my way a bit with MJ recently so was looking to see if any "oldies" were around and came across this. I've just read the first thread so am up to date with you all until mid-Sept and will read thread two later.
Gosh! It has been nice to read the updates. Reassuring to hear that many of you have had the same challenges as me (whether with your mindset or wondering about ineffective pens) and inspiring to see such number changes. Wow! You are remarkable. The number of you who are now healthy or overweight after genuinely life changing losses. The last few weeks months have been nothing like that for me but having just read thread one I am feeling re-invigorated and more confident again.
One of the things I found most incredible is those of you who have posted photos. This might sound mad, but you look like properly slim people. If I passed you in real life, I would have no idea how much has changed for you in the past 6 months but would presume that you were one of the effortlessly slim people I have always envied. It's made me realise that I think I have worried that there will always be some big flashing sign above my head saying "she's not really slim; she just took the jabs" and it's not like that at all.
Oh! Reading this has really cheered me up. And I am looking forward to the next instalment later

Mortigua · 17/11/2024 09:30

Hi ! It’s nice to see everyone’s stories isn’t it! Mine isn’t the dramatic weight loss of some but I do feel so much better .
just had a bit of a Google re weight loss medications and read some of Reddit threads about maintenance. I’m wondering if anyone has tried Mysimba at all? It has naltrexone which helps with cutting back alcohol which is an issue for me ( find it hard to cut back on wine calories but easy to eat healthier with Mounjaro ) . I’m wondering if it would work as a substitute for Mounjaro when I go to maintaining my weight .

I hadn't even thought of comparing pictures for a while, so I thought I would. Here it is 😳

From 16.5 stone to 10.10 stone.

Would never have been possible without ozempic (started on that in 2023) and MJ!
