Hello everyone! Giving blood today for the first time since I started, a little bit worried I won’t lie

JustPassingByToo · 15/10/2024 16:22

There's already a long running September support thread like other months. It feels a bit separatist to have a "Late September" thread when no other month has a Late (month) thread. Is there any reason why we can't be part of that september group? The more the merrier. Feel free to join.

I need some luck this week. Tomorrow I have to fly out to a work thing on Thursday that ends with a city night out, including dinner at what looks like an American-inspired 'baby back ribs' kinda place.

If I get through it without embarrassing myself in some way, it'll be a miracle. I need to find something lighter on the menu I can eat and I daren't drink very much. Plus, I then need to fly home th next day so do not need side effects then. This is going to be an experiment I think... Grin

@FelicityBeedle - good luck giving blood!

We've had a long running thread for late September starters too and it works for us as we are all in and around the same time. I'm sure some people have also joined that September thread which is also helpful. Don't feel it's separatist!

@JustPassingByToo you can join any and all groups you wish. It’s just been nice for those of us that started around the 24th September to compare notes and experiences.

I think I’m happy in this smaller thread for now, too many usernames and I’ll get confused!

I'm looking forward to moving up to 5mg on Thursday night. I've done pretty well so far, and a sneaky weigh-in tonight shows I've lost 10.5lb in total so far (2 days shy of 4 weeks). I condensed my first pen using the 4 doses plus the bonus over the normal 4 weeks (jabbed early the last weeks) as I've not felt much suppression or fullness. Fingers crossed I don't get side effects hitting me like a truck as I have a spa day on Friday and an evening event on Saturday - neither of which I want to miss.

peonym · 15/10/2024 18:37

Need some help please. Have just taken 4th 2,5mg dose. after that have managed to hard twist pen to get another full 2.5 dose sitting ready in pen. My question is, should I use this second 2.5 to bridge gap until I move up to 5mg next week, and maybe do half of it this evening also? Or should I just take the extra 2.5 dose next week and get an extra week out of everything. For context I've had limited side effects and my food noise comes back big time towards end of week. Thanks!!

Me personally, I took is as a 5th dose, because the pens aint cheap and i would rather 5 weeks than 4.. I then went onto my 5 pen and have been fine,
a bit of constipation and a few days feeling a bit meh.. but other than that its been great..

over 2 stone down so far and just done my 4th 5mg.

flobbynomore · 15/10/2024 19:10

I'm on day 4 of week 4 of my first pen. Good suppression and good weight loss (10lb), minimal side effects so I thought "steady as she goes" and ordered another 2.5mg pen which is sitting in the fridge ready to go next week... But tonight I was unpacking the shopping (online order done by dh) and came across a pack of hot cross buns. OMG I wanted to tear into them there and then! And I'm starving now. Such a surprise, having felt like some kind of magical creature that doesn't require food these past few weeks. Think I might have done the wrong thing getting another 2.5mg. Anyone done 2x2.5mg injections together to get 5mg? I realise it's an expensive way to go about it but I fear the starter dose has stopped working its wonderful sorcery!

Rm2018 · 15/10/2024 19:17

Does the extra bonus dose work the same with the 5mg pen?

I think it does, yes.

I am going to use a syringe to take out my 5th dose, thinking it'll be higher than the 2.5mg and will provide some kind of step between 2.5mg and 5mg (which is my next pen).

That's a good plan. I think I spotted chicken burgers, which'll make it even better I think.

Hello
Took my 4th jab Monday morning and I've lost 7lb so far.
Sw 13.7
Cw 13.0
Gw 11.7 (initially, might reduce it further depending on how I feel when I get there/ if I get there)!

I've had loads of food noise today. Made some poor snack choices like a kitkat and some skittles and just had a bowl of cereal for supper! Don't know why Im feeling like this! Drank 2l of water so not dehydrated.... Hope I get back on track tomorrow!

Surely we can have whatever threads we want? Do we need a reason that is acceptable to you😂

peonym · 15/10/2024 20:33

Thanks "@morbidcuriosity !

Update - I hard twisted too hard and broke the damn thing 🤣

Guess I'll just have to see what 5mg brings next week. I know I could syringe out but that just feels like a step too far for me personally.

Diarygirlqueen · 15/10/2024 20:39

It happened to me last week! Could have cried, luckily I had the 5mg in the fridge. No side effects so far, I'm feeling better than the 2.5mg dose.

Bellyblueboy · 15/10/2024 20:43

I have just ordered my step up dose to 5mg. Hate that you have to sign for it - I am only home on Fridays so have risked it that they will process tomorrow and post on Thursday - but it could go hideously wrong

lespameo · 15/10/2024 20:44

@Bellyblueboy I ordered via medexpress this morning and I've already had an email from royalmail confirming they'll deliver tomorrow morning! Super speedy!
