I’ve just tried to reorder and been asked to do a short recorded video. I have to show myself, scale weight, my current medication and some ID.
I think that’s a great idea.

Agree - this is good to see.

who is your provider?

boxoftoads · 20/03/2025 21:37

It’s my first order with medicine marketplace. I’m moving to 10mg and they had a low price in the UK for it. Much lower than Zava, who I am with currently.

Mydoghealsmyheart · 21/03/2025 12:09

Can anyone advise me if it will be ok to reduce my 10mg dose down to say 8 for one week? I’m due to take my dose today but I’ve got surgery next week and will be on morphine which causes constipation. I’ve already had this kind of symptom on 7.5mg and want to avoid a double whammy of MJ and morphine leading to bad constipation as straining wont help my wounds! I don’t want to keep on 8mg for too long as the 10 is definitely helping but I’m wondering if it’s safe to drop down and then go back after a week or two?
Also, how do you reduce the dose down in a 10mg syringe?

I would ask the surgery team, they should have done a meds check with you pre surgery so should be able to advise best. Hope it all goes well.

Cocoaone · 21/03/2025 17:46

@Mydoghealsmyheart - definitely call the surgical or pre op team if you haven't mention the mounjaro to them already. My understanding is that you are supposed to come off the drug for at least a week (ie miss a dose at least a week before the surgery date) because the slowed gastric emptying MJ causes can mean anaesthetic doesn't work as well and/or there is higher risk of food being in your stomach even after fasting from the night before, therefore higher risk of aspirating food into lungs.

Cocoaone · 21/03/2025 17:54

Oh I've just had a google and apparently it doesn't necessarily have to be stopped. But the team need to know so they can risk assess - eg if you need to be placed facing on your front during the op or certain medications might make aspiration more likely, they might advise fasting for longer etc

Mydoghealsmyheart · 23/03/2025 11:38

Thanks for the messages about Mounjaro and having surgery. I’ve left a message with my surgical team and asked for urgent clarification.

Hi everyone 👋🏻

it’s been a while since I posted but I like to scroll through everyone’s updates.

@ShiftAMountainhuge congrats on 60lbs - I’m sure you feel amazing!!

@Snapespearei have also (just) entered the 13s! Determined to never see 14 again.

I’m at that stage where I’ve lost a good amount and feel good (no longer worry about plane seats, bus seats, looking “out of place” and taking up too much space etc) but I also feel like I’ve so far to go until even overweight it’s overwhelming. I still don’t love what I see in the mirror - my tummy is out of control and my boobs are ridiculously saggy. I know I need to learn to love this body but it feels tough at the min.

I’ve been loving my peloton and have started short little jogs with the aim of doing a 5k charity race at the end of May.

Hope everyone doing well and enjoying some much needed sunshine

@peonym FIVE STONE🎊🎈🎉🎉. Congratulations!

That is an amazing change in six months.

ShiftAMountain · 24/03/2025 11:07

@peonym Well done! 5 stone is fantastic! I actually flew yesterday for work and was so excited to fly without caring about my weight that I was actually a tiny bit disappointed to find I had the row of seats all to myself 😃. Still, it was lovely to be pretty comfortable for the flight. I was also great to get to the hotel, find they had (what old me would have considered) tiny bath towels and still find it wrapped around me with some overlap. It’s the little things, huh?

Theredjellybean · 24/03/2025 22:17

@ShiftAMountain ...yeh to the bath towels xx

Pashazade · 25/03/2025 08:02

End of week 26 and…..dammit still obese, I tipped into overweight and bounced back up, nearly there! 🤣 Well done @peonym thats fantastic loss, @ShiftAMountain oh the bath towels thing is a lovely change isn’t it!
I have a wedding to attend in a few weeks and the hunt for a dress is soo annoying, I’m 2/2 that fit technically but aren’t quite right…..using Vinted as don’t want to spend a fortune and then it be too big in a couple of months. Going to have to start selling on Vinted too I think once the dress hunt it over. I went looking on the Phase Eight proper site, dear god when did posh dresses get sooooo expensive! Although admittedly it’s a good 5 years since I’ve needed one!

ShiftAMountain · 25/03/2025 18:06

@Pashazade - I think Vinted comes into it's own when looking for posh dresses. So many people buy new, wear it once and then don't have another use for it so sell it off again. I think you're right to check it out first, even if you throw in the cost of a dry clean first?

Hello all. Long time again, but plodding along as ever.

I hit 34kg lost this weekend.

Start: 165.8kg
Now: 131.8kg

% lost: 20.5%

Not bad for six months, my graph is a nice controlled descent. Will be interesting to see the next six monthly numbers.

Lots of luck everyone. :)

ShiftAMountain · 30/03/2025 19:05

End of week 28...
3.1lbs lost, 64.4lbs total.

Heading up to 10mg this week.

Hope everyone is ok!

Bellyblueboy · 30/03/2025 19:19

I have gotten into a strange up and down pattern - I lost three pounds last week, but had gained three pounds the week before.

The pink dots are 7.5mg. I am debating g going back down to 5mg. But then again this could be because I am now so close to goal weight.

i spent all weekend clearing out my wardrobe. There is very little left in it - but everything fits and I would wear it. I don’t think I have an ever had that in my life😂.

Theredjellybean · 01/04/2025 10:30

@Bellyblueboy that sounds my dream wardrobe.
Mine is still a work in progress as my head is struggling to catch up with my weight loss

Snapespeare · 03/04/2025 08:32

Weigh day a day later this week as i stayed the same yesterday, as I hadn't had a poo! 2.7 off ( a very satisfying poo!) 55lbs off in total, CW 13.9.6. next mini goal is 13.8, which will be 4 glorious stone off.
Went into work and saw people for the first time this year and no comments on weight loss...(23lbs since Jan 1st).unsure how I feel about that - I get that people can be a bit iffy and think you're unwell, but a general 'you're looking well' would be nice!

Down a back size on bra again, revealed by panic buying local lingerie shops sale. I have a comfy pair of M&S wide leg jeans that are difficult to keep up now (size 20) so bought a pair on vinted in a 16, which should have a little room in them, I lack the courage to buy a 14 at present.

Snapespeare · 04/04/2025 15:39

Left my reordering slightly late, decided to step up to 15 and the cheaper suppliers on monj.co.uk are having issues with supply....have alighted on 'we prescribe' as a new customer with £40 code. Now slightly worried that this will become more expensive if supply dwindles...but don't want to leave it any later, have 1 dose (tonight) and golden left in my 12.5...

ShiftAMountain · 04/04/2025 19:51

@Snapespeare am pretty sure Oushk posted supply issues with the 12.5mg and 15mg but a few days ago posted they'd had a large delivery and so supply was no longer an issue. Hopefully all suppliers follow suit soon.

@Mydoghealsmyheart how are you doing? Did you have the surgery? Hope you are well.

im on 10mg for 3rd month, having been stretching out doses sometimes going 10 days between doses.

Weight loss slowed a lot but I’m happy with that.

I’ve lost nearly 25% I think? Was 19st 4lb when started. Now 15st. Target was 15st 4lb —new target 14st 4lb. I haven’t been 15st something in over 10 years (I’m 50). Will see how I feel when I get to new goal

at the gym more, weight training with a PT, walking more. Eating more diverse and healthier options still.

gine from a 22/20 range to a few 14s and 16s. Pulling on size 16 trousers and the fasten still blows my mind. darent try on new jeans in a 14 yet. I have some size 14 skirts but I’m telling myself they are flared or stretchy.

I’ve always been pear shape with a curvy arse and thighs. So trousers haven’t fitted on my waist for a long time due to the curves. Now more in proportion.

I do have loose skin on upper arm, thighs and calf’s- ignoring the bit under my neck for now. So that’s why I’m sticking with a 10mg for now - keeps an ongoing med level but time to do more at the gym etc to combat further sagging skin if possible. Happy to live with it otherwise.

oh yeah… that’s why I was posting… so nearly 25% gone. And other than my folks and partner - no one has commented on it. Maybe it’s the polite Britishness? I will just settle for feeling better and continue to work on health and mindset. :)

@TheCatterall has anyone said you’re looking fabulous or well? They seem to be the new code for you’ve lost weight but I don’t know if I’m allowed to say that! 😁

Not really but in their defence I self employed from home, volunteer but it’s at a new place with folks that have only known me this year.

And I’m an excellent anti social introvert.

I'm off to my annual conference (Atomicon in Newcastle if you are all nosy) this summer hopefully folks notice there. My hair is also very different (now grey and curly not brown box dye and straightened Bob).

Mydoghealsmyheart · 05/04/2025 19:12

TheCatterall Yes, I had the surgery and there were no problems thankfully. It was so lovely being handed a hospital gown and feeling (fairly) confident that it would fit me and that I could leave my own bariatric style gown in my bag! Well done in terms of the success you’re having, like you I’m staying on 10mg at the moment. I haven’t weighed myself since my operation as my appetite has been all over the place as well as contending with fighting boredom whilst having enforced rest and wanting to distract myself with food. That’s still a problem, not as much as it used to be definitely but still there nonetheless.
