End of week 28. 1.2lbs lost, 65.6lbs total.

I have a whole stash of size 14s I've picked up from Vinted and few of them are just starting to make their way into my 'wearbale' clothes. Some are still a few pounds off fitting, so I plod on. Just took my last 7.5mg dose and my next pen is 10.0mg.

@ShiftAMountain ...that is an amazing achievement.
Honestly you need to be shiftedAMountain...now.

The clothes thing is quite weird, I'm still buying stuff which is too big .. and struggling to prune out my wardrobe. I got my summer clothes out last week...most don't fit yet I'm convincing myself they do.
It's not that I don't want to buy new clothes..I love shopping, it just seems very overwhelming.
I need new bras... new shorts ..new work clothes...new everything really.
I've bought somethings on vinted but managed to buy things too big ..it's like my brain can't keep up with me body...

Pashazade · 06/04/2025 23:08

@Theredjellybean I'm finding clothes frustrating, I think because I’d been the same size for probably close to ten years give or take all my favourites have fitted for ages and now they don’t and that makes me sad! I’m slightly concerned all the shorts I’d kept to fit in again one day are actually going to be too big, apart from possibly the pair I bought in 2010! 🤣. (Which I appreciate is very specific but they were an emergency purchase when visiting New York and it got very hot whilst we were there!)

Bellyblueboy · 08/04/2025 23:23

I hit my new goal of 9st today. My BMI is 23, and I think that’s low enough for me. 3st 5lbs lost in total.

Now the hard work begins, maintaining. I have two shots of 7.5mg left and a new 5mg pen in the fridge. I plan to stay on 5mg for as long as they will let me. With MedExpress at the moment but have a virtual appointment with Oushk next week to see about going onto their maintenance package.

Bellyblueboy · 11/04/2025 08:03

there are a few less of us on this thread now. I wonder why - have people stopped posted or have they stopped Mounjaro?

ShiftAMountain · 11/04/2025 09:09

I’m still here. I post a bit less because it’s all a bit routine now. Minimal side effects, slow but steady loss. Am about four pounds away from being ‘just fat’ so hanging on for that. I had a lot to lose though so I wonder if some folks have hit their goal weight and maybe stopped MJ? I’d love to hear from anyone who has - good or bad - to help us all try to plan for what maintenance might look like.

I'm 10st 4lb now, BMI 23.6, wearing a size 12. I'm down from 14st 1.2lbs when I started MJ in September, and 15st in Jan 2024. I'm currently on 3.5mg, which I've been on for 6 weeks now.

My goal is 10st, so I'm close, and I've got my maintenance call booked in early May. I'm not sure what my maintenance will be. As much as I'd love to come off for financial reasons, I'm sure the weight will come back on if I stop taking it, so I might try going down to 2.5mg

My mum has started MJ and my brother is going to start, so I think I've been a good poster girl for it Grin

Amazing that you are so close to the next banding shiftamountain! And well done for hitting goal bellyblueboy, let us know how you get on with Oushk. I'm anxious about maintenance!

ShiftAMountain · 13/04/2025 09:32

End of week 29:

0.3lbs gain!! 😯 65.3lbs lost total.

So for the first week ever I have not lost any weight and apeared to have gained a tiny bit. But I also have a rotten cold so feel like any gain is likely to be linked to that - water retention and the like. I'm not worried but with Easter coming up next week, I suspect it'll be a little while until I see any real loss again. Shame as I am tantilisingly close to being overweight but I cannot really complain - the last 28 weeks have been very good to me!

I cannot even inject this week’s dose as the pen has stopped working! I was meant to inject the third dose of this month’s last Friday but couldn’t get anything out so I called Pharmacy2U. They have advised me that the pharmacy section will need to look into it and that I should save the packaging, etc in case photos are requested. Unfortunately pharmacy section only works weekdays so it looks as though it will probably take most of this coming week for them to investigate (not sure what they can do as it’s simply a malfunctioning pen) and to then hopefully supply a new one to me. I hope they don’t expect me to pay for a new pen! Has anyone else had problems with the pens? Also, is it ok to miss an entire week?

Bellyblueboy · 13/04/2025 20:09

Could you use a syringe to get a dose - like you would for the fifth dose ?

I haven’t got any syringes or needles unfortunately. Plus, how would I extract the liquid?

Pashazade · 14/04/2025 08:11

@Mydoghealsmyheart the syringes are easy to buy on Amazon and you push the syringe into the end of the pen, where you normally screw the needle onto. It’s a little rubber seal and the syringe goes through easily. Then you just withdraw the dose you need. 🙂

Snapespeare · 16/04/2025 07:39

Hello weigh day!
SW 17.8
CW 13.7.6
GW around 12st

It's slowed a bit, but still in the right direction. Have had a cold and feel tired and a bit miserable. Going up to 15 on Friday.
4 stone off. FOUR.

Bought a ridiculous dress at a boot sale on Saturday - like a pastel Elmer the elephant with a cut out heart at the back. It's a size 14. It fits! A little tight over the bust, I look like Greyson Perry in it, but fucking hell. A (roomy) fourteen.

Theredjellybean · 16/04/2025 22:49

Well done @Snapespeare ..what an achievement.
I borrowed my 25 yr old daughter's jeans today as all mine too big...I'm late 50's ...

Bellyblueboy · 17/04/2025 10:10

Work emergency so missed my maintenance appointment with Oushk😩. Next one in July.

Medexpress has asked me for updated photos - which is fine but I am worried they might cut me off!

I am at my goal now - BMI is 23. I have read that MedExpress cuts people off at 23.5 which seems very high for maintenance.

Mydoghealsmyheart · 17/04/2025 21:18

I am so frustrated that I’m going to miss another week’s dose tomorrow as the Mounjaro pen was faulty and Pharmacy2U have been an absolute nightmare in trying to obtain a replacement. I’ve tried everything that has been suggested and nothing has worked so I’ve reordered a replacement but learned that it will be midweek (next week) before I receive it. This will mean that I’ll be approaching the third week without any medication in me. I’m already noticing the effects of no MJ, my appetite returned with a vengeance, and I feel that I must have put on about 7 pounds since I last had the correct dose. I feel really fed up and concerned as I have now told the company to cancel my order and refund me and I’ll take my business elsewhere. They haven’t offered any support, no medical guidance on how a gap of two doses will affect me, just silence. They don’t deserve the £190 price tag for MJ!

Theredjellybean · 19/04/2025 08:13

@Mydoghealsmyheart I don't understand why drawing the dose out by syringe and needle hasn't worked?
If the pen has jammed then you just need to push needle ( attached to syringe) through the rubbery seal and draw off what you need.

I’ve tried and it hasn’t worked for whatever reason so I’m now drawing a line under the whole sorry saga as my priority is obviously to get back onto the medication. I’ve ordered with a different company so fingers crossed it arrives asap.

Theredjellybean · 19/04/2025 08:22

Gosh how odd...
Yes absolutely you should get a refund and take business elsewhere

Thank you. I’m pleased to say that the refund is on its way to me as I type!

Drifting back in for a quick update. I am down to about half a dozen functioning outfits, but am refusing to shop. I hate clothes shopping!

Currently at a total loss of 37.3kg, for 22.5% of original body mass gone.

I went away for a week or so, and although I ate more than usual because I was more active than usual, I managed to lose a couple of kilos still, which was unexpected but nice to see.

BMI is still 40+ but that bothers my GP more than it bothers me.

I’m on the 15mg dose, and although it took a few weeks to get used to it, I’ve now settled well.

WeeklyJab · 22/04/2025 10:15

I’ve been pretty stagnant on weight loss for a month or two which was frustrating.

However, I’ve just passed 3 stone lost and three dress sizes down - I haven’t been this size in 25 years!

Snapespeare · 24/04/2025 21:32

Slightly less than a lb off this week, but I was away for a couple of nights, couldn't resist the buffet breakfast and had take away noodles - & wine for the first time this year. Have had a cold and not been exercising. This is OK!

Have decided on my goal weight as 11st 12. Currently 13.6. This would give me a BMI of 24.5. Will see how I feel when I get there, but it's on the basis of my heaviest weight being 19st after lockdown (mj start weight was 17.8) and would represent 100lbs off from that heaviest weight. So 22 lbs to go I think.

Mydoghealsmyheart · 25/04/2025 14:21

After an almost 3 week break due to problems with the retailer, I’ve resumed injections at the previous 10mg dose but I feel nothing different at all. I injected on Wednesday evening but have had no suppression or other effects at all. I really did think that restarting treatment after a break would mean the effect was more significant but nothing at all. It’s as though I’ve never had Mounjaro! Has anyone else had something similar?
