Hi all. I have to admit, I’m struggling a bit at the mo. I’m fed up but can’t figure out why and I can’t shake it off. Last night I came really close to binging to the point where I bought the food but then came home and just had one instead of the whole box. Jab day yesterday and I got 0.7ml from my bonus dose (5mg pen) so probably about 6mg or something like that. My weight has been bouncing around the same pound for the last couple of weeks so I guess 7.5 is the logical step for next week

Has anyone else found themselves in the same pit of doom?

ObsidianTree · 18/09/2024 13:56

@ineedmoresleepnow the 12.5mg expire end of Nov. So you might be able to fit one of those in.

I think suppliers will keep sending 15mg out short dated until first week in Oct maybe, so not worth getting another 15mg.

Very annoying situation anyway!

ineedmoresleepnow · 18/09/2024 15:50

It is annoying, especially with the experiences people have had with pens feeling less effective closer to expiry!

NextPrimeMinister · 18/09/2024 17:43

Well done @KrankyKumquat. Great result!

Thanks for the heads up re ME and maintenance. I was going to use ME for one more pen, to use my price match discount. But as I'm close to 25 bmi, I think I'll have to swap to Oushk instead.

Has anyone done this swap at circa 25/26. My full body picture isn't going to be like my previous ones! Am worried I'll get turned down. Even though I am still classed as over weight.

ObsidianTree · 18/09/2024 17:49

@NextPrimeMinister I haven't done it yet and my BMI is 25.6 ish.

I suppose I should really incase my pics start looking a bit thin!

I think they should be fine to move to. They said they will take people below BMI 25 as long as they have order history proof. So they should be pretty relaxed.

imnottoofussed · 18/09/2024 17:53

I'm also contemplating moving to oushk from medexpress for my next pen. I'm 25.7 bmi currently. Do we know what their regular catch ups/consultations are on maintenance. Hopefully just an email as I can't be doing with video or phone calls.

ObsidianTree · 18/09/2024 18:05

@imnottoofussed I feel like there might be a call or video call. Not feeling like that either!

Might do my next regular order with them then move onto a maintenance plan.

OP posts:
imnottoofussed · 18/09/2024 18:57

I've emailed medexpress to see what they say. I'd rather not move elsewhere to be honest and phone/video is putting me off I'll let you know what they say

Wonkypictureframe · 18/09/2024 19:00

MedExpress told me they will prescribe maintenance if your BMI stays between 23-25 although someone upthread got kicked out at 23.5 so not 100% on that.

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 18/09/2024 20:08

Hey new thread!

ObsidianTree · 18/09/2024 20:24

Just asked about 15mg stock on Oshik Facebook and they have stock of 15mg expiring 02/25. So I'll order my next pen from them. Probably next payday

Ohh the lesser spotted long dated 15mg is in stock. I need to order another pen this week but which and from where? My BMI is 25.4 today so time is running out to switch one last time.

I don't think I can hack weekly 15s but the cost effectiveness and option to alternate between 15 and 12.5 from a 15mg pen is tempting. Decisions, decisions!

Femeia · 18/09/2024 21:22

Hi all!
I'm joining the 11 stone and "normal" BMI club too. After stalling for ages I've finally seen an 11 on the scales (albeit followed by 13.8lbs!) and my BMI is 24.8. Woohoo!
I started at 17.11 and BMI of 37 so it's a big change.
I took my first 15mg dose on Saturday and can't say it's given me much suppression. In fact I've been away for work since and able (and wanting) to eat carbs, cake etc. Weirdly though it was after this that I actually dropped a pound and got myself into the exciting numbers.
I've still got a flabby belly and rolls of fat round my ribs so the weight loss definitely needs to carry on

BlackFriYay · 18/09/2024 22:01

A big well done to you Femia 👏

I'm 😲 about MedExpress pulling the rug out like that when a poster hit BMI 23.5!

Doesn't that go against everything the specialists tell us?

"Most people who stop using the drug will regain the weight back"

"For lots of people they will have to be on the drug for life"

I don't like to think of that negativity personally and like to tell myself I'll be different 🙄 but it's relevant here is it not?

That's bonkers to me, being cut off cold turkey without even a tapering down plan (cases of severe side effects aside ofc)

My phone is giving me grief and I can't scroll back and see who that poster was but my advice is switch to Oushk, they are much less draconian about long term use and will likely accept you onto one of their maintenance plans at that BMI if you show them your usage history.

I'm sure they'll soon change their tune once everybody F's off to oushk en masse. We've seen it before haven't we?

New thread!

AgathaMystery · 18/09/2024 22:36

@guestusername pit of doom here too. I don’t know what’s going on. I’ve got mad suppression and haven’t really managed to eat in 2 days. I am well hydrated though I feel really really crappy. Even DH commented that I’m in bed at 8 each night. I can’t even face sitting on the sofa.

I’m really confused about what to do with my support or where to go. I’ve got a long way to go (13kg) to get to BMI 24 and honestly I feel great at the size in at now. Is that weird? My BMI is 29. I can’t imagine loosing more.

Anyway, but gloomy here with mad headaches and bruxism. I suspect former caused by the latter. THE JOYS.

Moanranger · 18/09/2024 22:39

@guestusername I am with you on this. Although we are all having success on MJ, I can still get a bit bored and feel flat about sticking with an eating plan. So then random unhealthy snacking starts creeping in, followed by stalls & then self doubt.
i know that after my WL I look very different & no one would describe me as fat, but then I start thinking, well, why lose anymore, I look better, etc.
But I know my weight is still a bit high for ideal fitness, joint health, etc, so need to get my motivation together & keep on.
I think this stage is pretty common (I remember something about this with Noom)

@guestusername I've been feeling the need to eat lots of things I shouldn't and just can't be arsed with it all anymore. My DP bought me a big box of Ferrero Rocher last week and I've eaten 30 🫣. I've been going up and done the same pound for a while so it seems that it's made no difference pigging out.

I'm also eating a huge amount of takeaways again. I need to get my arse back in gear as I'm close to starting reducing my doses with a view to going it alone now I'm half a stone from my target of bmi 25.

Ignore that. It had my full name on so asked for it to be removed! Basically a message from Zava saying null! But they have messaged again so will see what they have to say!

@Thebaldprimadonna it is frustrating but hopefully you're due a woosh soon. How you feeling on 12.5? Do you think moving up dose might help? Although I'd wait until new dated pens are out incase you get an old dated pen.
