@Smallsalt have you name changed? Montysuma?

Assuming you have! Did you manage to find a new dated 15mg pen?

It def must not be working if you are having so much within days and it's not having an effect!

I feel like I just want to use up these pens so I can get a new dated pen and see if it's better. Some people split dose so wondering if I should try something similar. Maybe 7.5mg every 5 days or something.

Worried about the shortage now tho! But do have some 10mg pens so could use them. Maybe they might even work better than the 15mg pens I have!

Do you think you might have hit a plateau where your body doesn't want to lose anymore weight? So could be contributing to the lack of weight loss?

I'm booked in for my appointment with Oushk on Monday. I think I've booked the wrong type, as I went for a maintenance consultation rather than new customer, but I want to go on their Conti maintenance plan. Will report back.

Let us know how it goes!

It's probably best going on the maintenance plan, as that has a 15% discount and free delivery.

Morning all!
I had a mad day yesterday with university drop off so didn't have time to eat much and so I'm now 11:11.8 stone. I started way back in January last year at 17.11 stone (no MJ until Feb this year) so that's a 6 stone loss!
On the Renpho scales my body fat is still in the red at 33.8% - does anyone know what my target should be? I'm still 2 years older than my metabolic age but getting closer.

ObsidianTree · 22/09/2024 10:28

That's amazing @Femeia 😊 I started in Jan at 17st 6lbs pre MJ.

What's your height and BMI again? Were you at BMI 24? I don't have renpho but something similar. My body fat is showing as 29.8 so in the acceptable range. It has the range below. Does renpho have that?

But then I think someone said there is a different setting if you aren't athletic? Don't know what mine is set as, even if it has that option. I'm not athletic

@ObsidianTree Yes, Montysma! No idea why it's changed or how to change it back😂

Yeah I am pretty slim now so I do expect it to be harder but want expecting a complete halt!

The 15mgs are doing very little. I have another one, which also arrived warm, I had wanted to avoid ordering but was coming up to the 6 week cut off so I had to.
I have a 12.5mg from a while back which I held back as it's got a November date. I think it's also the last bloody pen that actually arrived cold!

I was hanging on till Oct before re ordering in the hopes of a longer dated pen, but figure that's going to be an issue now with the apparent shortages. I don't want to spend more hundreds of pounds on rubbish pens😡

KrankyKumquat · 22/09/2024 10:38

@Femeia
I've got the Renpho and having similar issues getting body fat lower (down from 40 to 34) but aiming for 32% as that's top of OK range. Subcutaneous fat is even slower to budge (down from 34 to 31 and needs to be 26!). But my visceral fat is great at 8, down from 12 which I think is the really important one in terms of health.

Femeia · 22/09/2024 10:46

Here are my stats. If visceral fat is the main one then I think I'm ok but there are still some red and amber stats

KrankyKumquat · 22/09/2024 11:01

@Femeia
Your stats are almost the same as mine, I think we're doing OK, only a bit to go to get to 32%. If it's any comfort, my OH who's as skinny as it's possible for a 68 yr old man to be also has red obese for % body fat (male target is 25% maximum, compared to 32% for women!). He had a complete melt down over it 😅

Wonkypictureframe · 22/09/2024 11:02

I feel very sorry for men! Renpho is very strict with them.

Hi all!

I have now taken my final dose and will let you know how it goes.

@Slimstar13 My original goal was just to get to a healthy BMI. I really identify with your posts as I never believed it possible I would be slim. I just wanted to get healthier. As the weight came off I saw that it was possible.

I have photos all along and it’s very strange to see the progress. When I hit 13, 12 then 11 etc I thought wow. Now I look back and go ah ok. Total head mess. I never thought I’d hit 10, let alone the 9 and a half I’m now maintaining at.

I guess what I’m trying to say is decide what is right for you. If you’re happy and pain free then great. But don’t think it’s impossible if you do decide to go lower.

I also hope that’s not offensive. It’s your journey! But I didn’t think in a month of Sundays back in February I’d get to a BMI of 21 and be swimming twice a week (going to three times this week) and be loving how much better I feel.

Rubbish to hear the 15 issues. The prescribers are really beginning to annoy me based on everyone’s posts. It’s too expensive for them to dick around. Even if it wasn’t expensive it’s a prescribed med. It shouldn’t be down to chance.

ObsidianTree · 22/09/2024 11:34

I feel like my scales are a bit kinder than yours! My BMI is still overweight yet seem to have better stats! I'll keep my kind scales 😂

You'll probably have to use the 12.5mg soon as that's expiring soon. But the extra doses you are having will probably mean you run out of 15mg soon enough. So maybe wait until you're into the 12.5mg pen before trying to order again. By then hopefully there should be new dated stock. Also a shame it's dated Feb 25! Why can't it be April like the 10mg and 7.5mg pens!

It is a shame as I had been reading that in the US people seem to get to 15mg and feels it's perfect and stay there for the rest of their weight loss etc. So it's a shame we haven't got that experience yet.

OP posts:
ObsidianTree · 22/09/2024 11:41

Maybe the medication in the 12.5 and 15 doesn't last as long as the lower dose pens. Not sure on the science on that. But maybe why they are short dated?

We are the first to try the multi dose pens. So maybe there is a problem with higher doses in the multi dose pens?

Yesterday was at my parents house for the day as my sister was visiting. The usual question came up about how I lost the weight etc. I stuck to the script, sticking to 1200 kcals a day, lower carb etc. My mum said how come it's working now when your thyroid problems stopped you from losing for so long... I couldn't really say anything. As if I didn't have MJ I wouldn't have lost much weight at all! I suppose if I was still doing keto it would have been more believable as I didnt eat carbs etc, but now I'm eating normally. So doesn't really look like I'm dieting etc. I will probably start saying that I don't eat carbs in the week or something. To make it more believable.

Anyway, that started a discussion about people taking weight loss drugs etc and how bad it was. Unfortunately they have both focused on the negative media /stories. I didn't say anything. Just confirmed for me that I won't ever tell! Will be my business that no one else needs to know!

I have scale envy. Not ordered any yet and my current scales measure most of this stuff but don't have Bluetooth to connect to an app. I am also amazed how little bones weigh. 5-7lbs only. I thought it was a couple of stone!

@ObsidianTree good hydration. You are beating the others by 2-3% on water weight!

If I get renpho scales mine will probably less kind! Feeling like I'm missing out now! But my scales are pretty good!

@ObsidianTree if it comes up again could you say your GP has sorted out your thyroid medication and it seems to make you feel more able to control your weight?

Lol I thought it had to be lower as water weights more 😂 pretty sure my scales are just kinder /less actuate than the renpho!

Is bone mass the weight of the bones? Is that right?

Yes I could use that too. I was thinking of saying my Dr prescribed/recommended me something that helps with my thyroid, (MJ) but have a Dr in the family so don't want too many questions about what meds etc!

I noticed on a thread on this forum someone saying their thyroid consultant recommended they try MJ. If that had happened to me then I could have been truthful really!

@ObsidianTree
It's bone mass mineral density so don't won't it to fall (osteoporosis, etc) I think. Higher is better, over 6lb for my age (58) as tends to reduce with age - it's my only stat that's in the excellent range

ObsidianTree · 22/09/2024 12:17

Oshik are offering £25 off at the moment. I decided to order a 15mg pen from them. although their 15mg is quite pricey! At least it made it a bit cheaper! Might as well make the move over to Oshik now before starting a maintenance plan! Also I know the 15mg will be newer stock from oshik
