I think you’ll be fine, Oushk seem to be willing to calculate a new start dose based on the half life of your previous prescriptions, they don’t have a ‘restart on 2.5mg or get nowt’ rule (according to what I’ve read here and on Reddit).

I’m hoping to sign up to the Flex plan which is the one that is £20 a month, no medication included but with the option of getting a new prescription anytime within the first year without having to go all the way back up to 27-30BMI to qualify.

TheBiscuitStrikesBack · 02/01/2025 16:29

Great minds. This is my plan also.. fingers crossed 🤞🏻

MyPearlMentor · 02/01/2025 18:01

I’m already with Oushk. I reordered over the Xmas period (although I still have a 5mg pen in hand) and they haven’t dispatched it yet and it is due on Saturday. They asked me for a photo of the prescription box (even though it came from them) I’ll let you know if they insist on me having an interview for it… I was going to just stop but I have actually decided to reduce gradually so my next one will be 2.5mg…

MyPearlMentor · 04/01/2025 19:58

I just got my renewal dose from Oushk without a consultation, so maybe it’s only for the first time when you join.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 05/01/2025 10:05

Hi all. Happy new year.

I'm now back upto 67 kg 😡
Obviously my fault. Too much nice food. Husband at home over two weeks. Wedding anniversary mini break and Xmas new year. Aghhhh

I have a new pen waiting for Monday and will start again. Get that last 7lb off and try maintain through summer.

It's a worry though cos if my body won't reset at the lower weight long term then what?

How are you all doing?

MyPearlMentor · 05/01/2025 20:43

@HeBeaverandSheBeaver I also haven’t been very good over the holidays & have just used a new 5mg pen. For me it’s not hunger, it’s just that I enjoy treats… I was really good about not buying too much but I had guests who bought biscuits, wine, chocolates, cake - all the bad stuff. The weather has also been so bad that I barely left the house for 2 weeks so zero exercise. Going to try very hard to get my focus back this week. Not weighed yet as I am away but will do on Tuesday to see what the damage is, I suspect a couple of kilos too. Good Luck to you!! X

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 05/01/2025 22:52

@MyPearlMentor
Same!! I have been counting cals and going down to 1300 to loose again now seems very depressing Hey ho. Lots of fruit tomz

Andywarholswig · 16/01/2025 21:10

Checking back in as I’ve fallen off the thread due to life and work and everything getting busy. I hit my healthy BMI this week and I am really pleased. I’ve lost 4 stone 4lbs although I work in kg - 28kg, pretty much a 1kg per week. Ive also lost 10
inches off my waist which is quite scary! I have 3 weeks left in the current pen so am going to try and lose a bit more for some wriggle room and try and start the battle of maintenance. I am terrified of putting on the weight again, but it is what it is. Am going to try and keep eating healthily and exercising and see what happens

HundredMilesAnHour · 16/01/2025 21:57

I’ve now lost 26kg and my BMI just scraped under 27 for the first time today. My weight loss has definitely slowed. I’m also thinking about food a lot more and the suppression wears off by day 4-5. I’m on 10mg so don’t really want to increase my dose but I still have 15kg I’d ideally like to lose.

ACEwards · 30/01/2025 11:11

Hey everyone!

Been a long time since I last posted. I've been plodding along on 2.5, spreading it out by missing a month etc, just trying to maintain.

Question I have now... has anyone switched providers and been accepted with a BMI under 30? I now have a BMI within healthy range (only just!), but am struggling to afford the monthly subscription with my current provider and they don't have a maintenance plan and feel I'll need MJ in the long term for now anyway.

Medexpress won't let me proceed, even though I can prove that I've been consistently using MJ since July 2024. Any other providers that will? I don't want another subscription, just want to be able to buy a pen every 6-8 weeks

Thanks
Alison

Alison, have you tried Ouskh? they are set up for medication AND maintenance - https://www.oushkpharmacy.com/online-doctor/weight-loss

I know some people who have used them for weightloss and for maintenance. so far the feedback on them is good. I am with Pharmacy2U atm, but will switch to Ouskh once i have the new dose i need to move up to confirmed.

HELLOOOO!!

In terms of update from me, i;'ve kind of stalled since Christmas, although now I am drinking more water now (less bloody baltic weather) and slowly slowly the scales are beginning to go in the right direction. I hit milestone 78kg on Christmas Day, dropped to 77 a couple of weeks later and then since then have bounced up and down, and today am back at 77.2kg. Need to be more focussed.

Pharmacy2U have also suggested I move to 12.5mg from the 10mg i am currently on and i think that its a good idea for me to do that.

Total loss since July is 24kg. I want to get down to somewhere around 65kg, maybe 60kg, so am about 10-12kg from target.

i also 'came out' to my dental tech yesterday :D The first person I have told aside from OH and DS. I dunno why i was honest with her when I have said nothing to others. i feel a bit conflicted about not telling someone i train with, but I was not ready. I am trying not to over think this, i have other opportunities to tell her if I want to.

As it goes, my dental tech is my age, the weight is creeping up and seemingly out of her control, exactly where I was which is why it resonated with her so much. She said she was considering it. I wished I had said to take my number and text me, but I'll see her in 3m time so will follow up with her again then.

Otherwise, I am still thrilled with everything, have got used to being thinner, so this 'pause' in progress isn't a bad thing. marathon not a sprint and all that. :D

i may have developed a bit of a Vinted habit...

I've just gone under BMI 26 and have moved to Oushk. I've been with Zava since I started (5 stone ago!) but I've asked and they said they'll stop prescribing if bmi gets down to 23 and they don't have any maintenance options it seems (will prescribe again if less than 6 months since last prescription and weight goes up but not clear how that would work in practice)

MyPearlMentor · 31/01/2025 00:24

Hello all - Great to hear you are all doing so well! I moved to Oushk in Oct & am on their maintenance plan. I am at BMI 23 and have reduced down to 2.5 (from 7.5) they have suggested I can stay on this dose for another 2-3 months. I am fortunate that cost is not an issue so I’ll probably continue. I’m trying to find a balance between a bit more freedom in terms of calories & eating out etc. versus not regaining weight. If it’s any help @ACEwards if you can pay £5 for the consultation with Hira she is very open to spacing out doses etc. which might help with the affordability? @MzHz a 5 stone loss is absolutely amazing! Nice to hear that you want to share your story. I have been pretty open about it to others & have only had positive reactions,

Choux · 31/01/2025 08:24

Hi @MyPearlMentor are you aiming to come off Mounjaro completely after 2-3 months or is that when you are going to review with Hira again?

I am BMI 23 now too but am maintaining for the last two months on 10mg. Maybe I am less active as it's cold and January but I don't currently see how I could maintain on 2.5mg and certainly not mounjaro free. I am not currently with Oushk but know that Hira seems to offer a more personalised approach than a lot of prescribers so am curious as to her thoughts on people at 23 continuing to take it long term.

I’m aiming to review in 2 months time with a view to stopping eventually… I had a consultation with Oushk and they advised going to 5mg for 2 months, then 2.5mg for 2 months. The prescriber also said I could start to space the doses a little more if I wanted to - say 8/9 days not 7. I’m still losing very slightly (now down to 62kg) so just need to find a balance.

HundredMilesAnHour · 14/02/2025 14:48

What happens if you don’t taper down and just stop the MJ? Am I being a bit cynical in thinking that it’s in the provider’s interest to recommend tapering for months rather than just trying ‘cold turkey’?

Choux · 14/02/2025 16:01

@HundredMilesAnHour as the MJ works its' way out of your system the food noise will come back and your digestive system will speed up which are two ways Mounjaro helps support weight loss. If that happens too fast and you can't control your appetite you will eat more and, if you then eat more calories than you burn you will gain weight.

There are two ifs in that last sentence so it's for each person to weigh up that risk and look at how easily they can afford Mounjaro and decide what is the best maintenance plan for them. I have been maintaining on 10mg for 2 months now. When spring comes and I naturally stop hibernating as much and get more active I might try a month or two on 7.5mg and see if I can maintain on that. When / if I can maintain on that I might try a few months on 5 mg. Personally I would rather take a low dose of Mounjaro forever than put the weight back on so weaning off it at a very very slow pace is fine by me.

ToriMJ · 16/03/2025 12:55

Hello team July. How’s it all going for you?
im guessing maintenance is a challenge of its own.
im start stop but am now over 2 st lost, 16% of my body weight, and have dropped from bmi 36 to 30. Im feeeling so so much better.
I had some issues with mobility which needed physio and now totally gone. Indigestion totally gone.
I need to lose another 2 stone and 3lb to get to bmi of 25 but feeling confident.
im still on 2.5mg as still working well but no longer afraid to go up if needed, have lost all anxiety around taking the MJ and just getting on with it now.
here’s my chart which shows where I’ve had months off for summer and months off for Christmas haha but on the flip side my weight loss is gradual so no one has asked any awkward questions about how I’ve done it .

Nice work @ToriMJ.

I’ve lost 4.5 stone (so 27% of my body weight) and my BMI is now down to 25.5. So almost where I want to be! I’ve been keeping a very low profile these past few months so most people haven’t even realised/seen me. Only people I work closely with have noticed/commented. I’m feeling much happier with myself as I can now get back into some of my wardrobe (still need to lose another stone to get back into most of my clothes though) and I just feel more positive about my body. I love clothes and fashion so for me what I wear is really important to me. It makes me feel good being able to wear things I like again rather than feeling like a huge middle aged heifer hiding my fat rolls away from the world.

I was struggling a lot with arthritic painful knees and although the weight loss can’t fix my arthritis, it does mean it bothers me less. I still feel rough on MJ most of the time but I decided that being fat long term makes me feel worse so I will just suck up feeling rough until I’m back to a sensible size. Hopefully only a couple more months to go!

Aitchtee · 17/03/2025 22:19

My total loss is now 4 stones and 1lb! Delighted. Still about a stone or so to go to be where I want to be. Still on 5mg.

Xiaoxiong · 18/03/2025 11:23

This is all wonderful to read, glad everyone's doing well!

I had a bit of a blip - I have had piles in the past (thanks big babies!!) and, having had no issues from July to November at all on MJ, suddenly became quite constipated which caused a terrible piles flare-up. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the MJ which hadn't caused any issues for 5 months on it, much more likely to have been caused by a lot of work travel, but I didn't want to take the risk that the MJ was making it worse so I came off MJ for December, January and February. In that time I put 5kg back on, but a lot of that was because of the weather, no exercise at all, and feeling very sorry for myself!!

I restarted MJ at 2.5mg, now up to 5mg and I've lost that 4kg again so I'm more or less flat on where I was in November with 16kg lost. I'm aiming for another 8kg to get me into the healthy BMI mid-range.

I'm a LOT more attentive to water and fibre now, particularly when travelling!!

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 18/03/2025 11:59

Hello all

Been a while I last took Mj in early dec but had 3 months off.
Had a pen waiting and in the 3 months I gained 3/4 kilos.
Due to birthdays xmas holiday etc.
anyway back on it now. Need to lose another 2/3 kilos.

It's a worry tho as I can't go on and off forever.

I was definitely more likely to over eat during those 3 months. Hence the weight coming back on.
