Awesome! Well done team.

Im pretty much done also. Got half a 7.5 pen to finish, then down to 5.. then that’s it! I’m at goal weight (2 oz over), wanted to try and lose a bit of a Xmas buffer but it’s taking a week to shift even a couple of ozs.. I think my body has had enough.

Just need to hope upon hope that I manage to keep it off.

One of the best things I’ve ever done.

I am stuck at around 80kg, BMI 26. I don't want to increase MJ as the side effects are too much for me, but decided today to combine it with 5:2 which ought to be much easier to stick to. Just need to try and get the last stone off.

MJ has kinda given me an intermittent fasting effect in that a few days a week my appetite is very small and so I try and eat bigger (but still healthy) meals on the day or two that it’s wearing off.

I’m also very close to goal now - got into the old jeans I’ve been banging on about for ages last Tuesday - still too tight to be comfortable (can’t sit down!) but also, I’m not sure if they actually suit me now? Which is a bit weird when they’ve been my main goal (rather than the scales). Another couple of pounds off and I’ll reassess.

I’m still planning on staying on MJ through Xmas, probably another couple of weeks on the current dose and then titrating down as I think I’ll be better able to solidify post MJ good habits when everyone is doing the healthy eating/new year new start/couch to 5k stuff around me, as opposed to doing it when everyone is waving a box of roses under my nose and I’m in danger of winning a litre bottles of Baileys on the Xmas Fair Tombola!

ACEwards · 27/11/2024 08:30

I've been managing to maintain without MJ for 4 weeks and just started another 2.5mg 4 days ago to help with Xmas (but it's not actually given any suppression at all so must be used to it!)

Weighed this morning for the first time in 2 weeks and lost 3lbs which means I'm officially 2 stone down 🎉

Proud of myself for not regaining all my weight again within the past month 🥳

ChaChaChooey · 27/11/2024 16:33

Yes! That’s great news @ACEwards! Well done!

Xiaoxiong · 02/12/2024 11:00

Frustrated here - still bobbling around the edge of the overweight/healthy BMI range and haven't lost any weight in over a month. I might have to finally cave and go up to 7.5mg for my next pen.

I really want to get further into "healthy" so that if my weight does move around a few kg up or down I can takea action before I tip back into "overweight".

(And before people say the BMI is imprecise - I'm no bodybuilder or rugby player with heavy bones or lots of muscle. The BMI ranges are pretty spot on for Ms Average over here!)

ChaChaChooey · 02/12/2024 13:33

I totally understand that feeling @Xiaoxiong! I’m below the boundary but bibbling around 5lbs over my final goal weight.

I’ve gone up to a 7.5mg too, planning on it being the only one and stepping back down to 5 in January (I’ve done 2.5, 5,5,5 and the first dose of 7.5mg is due today). I may end up doing smaller doses than the metered 7.5 via click counting (so more like 6 or 6.5mg).

This will be the pen that goes through the Xmas and NY’s and MJ has made me dislike booze (especially my usual favourite of fizzy wine) so I’m planning on making the most of this side effect and having a very light-on-alcohol festive period.

I had two weeks off between my 2nd and 3 5mg pens because the appetite suppression was too good and I wasn’t eating enough for energy purposes. That two week MJ break accidentally broke the previous plateau I was on (obvs this is not the recommended use of the pen but figured you might find my anecdote interesting anyway).

MyPearlMentor · 02/12/2024 15:24

@ChaChaChooey & @Xiaoxiong I am a bit the same. I am a persistent 0.5kg off my stretch goal (a few lbs into a healthy BMI) but have a few events in the coming weeks I would like to enjoy, including a week long Caribbean holiday! I am excited to be wearing a size 12 bikini and feeling good in it for the first time in forever! I have been on 7.5mg for the last 3 months…going to not worry about it too much until Jan, just trying not to gain too much in the next month! Good luck with your tactics xxx

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 03/12/2024 09:56

I've been maintaining for a while now. It's not easy. I've gone up 1.5 kilos. However it's both my kids bday and my mums birthday day plus Xmas socials beginning it's been hard!!! I have pen for post Xmas in my fridge so I will hopefully lose it a bit then but it's scary how quickly you can creep up. I want to hover at 64kgs if I can I like this weight. I look slim but not too scraggy at mid 50s.

ToriMJ · 07/12/2024 09:34

Now at -1st 11 (plus the 7 lbs I regained and relist in the summer Blush) so back on target!
Still in 2.5 and finding the suppression good with no side effects. Smile

I’m the same and trying to hover at 64kg, I am 50. Just done two “big” nights out in a row with only one drink at each in an attempt to manage the calories… I was obviously dressed differently to usual so a lot more people commented on how good I looked… I think 3 stone is clearly the tipping point at which friends really see the difference! X

ACEwards · 09/12/2024 08:11

I've been back on MJ for a few weeks to get me through Xmas and avoid any binges. As 2.5 wasn't doing anything I used some of the bonus dose and did 3.75.... my god what a mistake 😫!

Injection day felt fine, but since day 2 the nausea has been awful! I was hoping by today it would have passed as I start a new job this afternoon. Woke up with upset tummy too... send help! 🤣

For anyone that's experienced nausea and upset stomach after upping their dose, how long did it take to clear? I 100% will not go higher than 2.5 again - that's if I ever take it again after feeling like this lol

Aitchtee · 13/12/2024 05:52

I reached a 3 stone loss today! Started mid July so 21 weeks ago. Averages at 2lb per week but in reality it was a mix of drops and 1lb a week losses. So pleased! Still have way to go but happy on 5mg with no unpleasant side effects anymore. So glad I started!

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 19/12/2024 09:43

How you all doing.

Maintaining wise I've crept upto 66kg from 64. My lowest.

I have a pen for post xmas in the fridge. It's a bit crap tho

I think I need to stick to 1800 ish to maintain as pre xmas I was ok on that. Now I'm getting to 2200 several days a week and it's creeping on me

Alcohol doesn't help. Only a few weeks left 🙏

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 19/12/2024 09:49

@Aitchtee
That's brilliant

ChaChaChooey · 19/12/2024 19:37

Hey all! I appear to be at goal (weight 59kg, BMI 21) - bit of a weird feeling with Xmas around the corner!

Have booked an appointment with Hira at Oushk for mid Jan with the hope of signing up to the Flexible maintenance subscription (no medication included but the opportunity to restart if maintenance gets tricky).
I have two 7.5 doses left along with an unused 5mg pen.

I fit in all my old clothes, including the jeans that I’ve been banging on about for 70 MN pages. No excuse to go clothes shopping sadly, seeing as I’ve hoarded an entire size ten wardrobe for over 5 years!

Might aim for a little bit of chazza shopping tho, I love a dramatic billowing sleeve in a floaty, chiffon fabric but it’s a style that I haven’t really experimented with much - when I’m bigger my shoulder/arms (and waist) are the best bits so I tend to routinely go for sleeveless and nipped in/ fit & flare silhouettes.

It’s almost weird to not have to think about what to disguise with clever dressing.

Goals for 2025 are to get back into building strength via weights and callisthenic exercises, plus (obvs) to try and maintain (aiming for +- 2kg).

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to Xmas - personally I cannot wait for the days to start lengthening again (a lumi light helps but my happiest days are when it’s still light at 10pm)

ToriMJ · 19/12/2024 22:52

Amazing!
Incredible achievements. Here's to maintenance.

I'm still chipping away but seem to be stuck hovering around a similar weight, think it might be time to increase my dose!

Amazing! I hope you feel fabulous… what an achievement! I just came back from a sunny holiday and for the first time in many years felt comfortable in a (high waisted) bikini… didn’t need to reach for a cover up before I sat up. It felt great, maintaining might be harder….

DamnItBetsy · 24/12/2024 22:22

So good to hear everyone’s successes 😊

Im 9lbs below the original goal weight I set. My BMI is 23. Have reduced to 4mg doses and I’m still losing very gradually. I think I could probably still beat to lose 7-10lbs, but it’s so long since I’ve been this weight I really don’t know. Being a size 10 is an awesome feeling though, and one I’ve not got used to yet.

However, I don’t feel like I’ve learned any lasting lessons. Much as I love being smaller, I just don’t know if I have the will power to maintain. I’m so used to the freedom of never really being hungry, I dont think I’ll do well when the hunger comes back.

Xiaoxiong · 26/12/2024 13:40

Happy Christmas everyone!

I've got about 8kg to my goal weight now, but a word of warning - you must must MUST keep up with water drinking and fibre on this medication, especially if you have ever had piles eg. from pregnancy, even if that was over a decade ago like me.

I've not had any side effects from MJ but had a run of work travel and low fibre, fatty and rich meals for the month before Christmas and got off track - not on calories or portion size, but on fibre, water and exercise. I'm really paying for it now with constipation that caused a horrendous piles flare-up. I don't know how connected it is with the MJ as I've had piles before, but I'm sure it can't be helping as MJ is known to be constipating.

I was due my usual jab yesterday - luckily it would have been the first dose of a new pen - but I've skipped it after discussion with the doctor to let my body get back to normal - I don't want anything that is the slightest bit constipating going into my system. Luckily I'm still only on 5mg so I'll see about restarting in a week or so.

It will be a good experiment as well to monitor if and how quickly the "food noise" returns. I've been trying hard to make a lot of changes to habits and portion size so I will try and maintain those - but now add in extra attention to water and fibre!!

When they say "lifestyle changes" they really mean it - and they need to be permanent too.

ToriMJ · 28/12/2024 18:54

I've missed a dose this week, sitting on 2.5 still. Haven't gained anything over Xmas which feels like a win.
I'm plateauing at bmi 31 (was 36) so need to get back on it and be brave and increase the dose in January!

Happy new year mid July-ers! Hope you are all feeling positive about 2025 and thinking about life goals beyond weight loss!

5 BMI points down is deffo an achievement @ToriMJ - as is staying the same over Xmas! You’ve done amazingly well to do all that on just 2.5mg.

My MJ ordering record has been:
one 2.5mg (July) three lots of 5mg (September, October, November) one 7.5 (December) then back down to 5mg after reaching goal (to start second week of January). I had to resubmit photos for the most recent 5mg order, presumably because it was 6 calendar months since my first order?
Added a message explaining my intent to titrate back down before stopping and it was approved with no further questions (I’ve only ever ordered with ZAVA because I cannot be arsed switching around even if it does save money - I hate paperwork and am happy to pay to avoid it!).
ZAVA aren’t publicising any specific maintenance offers/strategies so I booked a consultation with Oushk to transfer over (with the intent of restarting on a low dose if I can’t control gains without assistance).

Went out for new years in a jumpsuit I bought back in 2015 and probably haven’t worn since 2016 - had to borrow a pair of my 13 year old daughter’s leggings (!) to wear underneath for warmth now that I’ve lost over 4stone’s worth of insulation 😆

@MyPearlMentor a bikini! Amazing! I’m not quite brave enough for that yet (but as a decidedly ginger person I tend to stay covered up and in the shade anyway. I’m the one in the giant straw hat and massive sunglasses 😁)

Bit scared of maintenance but lurking around the Reddit Mounjaromaintenanceuk sub for tips.

TheBiscuitStrikesBack · 02/01/2025 13:23

@ChaChaChooey - can I ask re your appt with Oushk. I’ve been on line trying to get a maintenance plan / appt and have to wait to end January. Is this similar to what you got shown? Or am I missing something…

ChaChaChooey · 02/01/2025 13:36

Same -I booked an appointment slot mid December and the first available one was mid Jan at the time! I suspect we are doing this at the worst time just because January is peak diet industry time (it’s lovely to think that NY 2025 is the year that people genuinely have a realistic option available to them with these injectable meds, bit inconvenient for us earlier adopters tho!)

I would’ve moved over to Oushk before buying my most recent 5mg from ZAVA if I could’ve got an earlier slot but I suppose it’s good to have a 4 week buffer.

TheBiscuitStrikesBack · 02/01/2025 14:03

Ah, cool. Not being stupid then! I think I’ve messed up by cancelling with Voy before getting shifted over… but will see what they say.
