Thought id start a thread for anyone starting in July given we are almost there. I've just ordered tonight with Voy, hoping I get approved and will be able to start next week.

I'm a little apprehensive as some of my eating habits are emotionally driven not hunger! So I'm going to need to find some will power too. That's why I've gone with a company that provides support as well as just medication.

Anyone fancy joining along?

My starting weight is 18st 1lb and I'm 5ft 5 so I've ALOT to loose.

I had that with my very first jab too @spp92 . If you take note of where it hurts most, you'll probably find it ties in with where your lymph nodes are. It lasted about 3 days for me abs touch wood, hasn't happened since.

NewLifter · 15/07/2024 14:42

I must admit I was really disappointed to 'only' lose a pound in week two, but realised 8lbs in two weeks is still wonderful. Think it was more because I was expecting to drop down into the next stone bracket which then didn't happen 😭 hopefully soon.

Have had excellent suppression and no awful side effects so hopefully the weight loss will improve a little. I'm used to being a 2lb a week loser when I'm really focussed but I suppose I'm older now 🫣

Like most people, I have a pre-holiday goal in mind, but might need to adjust my expectations to avoid disappointment 😥

Mounjaroooooh · 15/07/2024 15:36

Had my second weigh in yesterday, switched from following WW to calorie counting and lost 5 lbs, suppression has finally started to kick in after my third jab and I'm not feeling hungry at all this afternoon, whereas usually I'd be looking for a snack of some sort. I know big losses every week aren't sustainable but I'm not going to be disappointed if I keep having them, I'm eating plenty of the good stuff so I'll carry on doing what I'm doing

SW 14 stone 12 lbs
Week 1 -8 lbs
Week 2 -5 lbs

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 15/07/2024 18:50

Does anyone else have a very loudly gurgling stomach? Mine is very noisy.

It's my first day of the second week and I've been a bit hungrier. In some ways it's a relief as I felt unwell and unable to eat last week, but it was a bit unnerving to feel snack-ish late afternoon again. However, I'm managing to exercise again so a slight increase in appetite is maybe to be expected and it's nothing like pre-MJ. I'm really focusing on protein now which I'm hoping will help, both with weight loss and maintenance in the future.

User364837 · 15/07/2024 20:55

Ah that’s good you’re feeling less tired.

im at the end of week 2 and like last week have felt the last few days of the week I can eat pretty normally.
wonder if I’ll feel a bit unwell and very off food for the first few days after the third jab like I have for the others.

I know the object is to lose weight but I’m happy when I can eat a decent amount of food as I’m scared of f**king up my metabolism even more than I already have if I only eat very little! Am happy with slow and steady weight loss too

Lumirubin · 15/07/2024 21:27

@WeepingInASunlitRoom yeah I have the chatty stomach! Never stops gurgling. I also get really bloated in the evening/over night. My theory is the slow digestion for me is really really slow, so my food is just churning in my stomach for ages, then only digesting in the evening/over night so I'm getting bloated as it goes. No idea if that's right or not! But it's how I'm explaining it to myself

Day 2. My eating habits are definitely changing.
Before , I'd finish any leftovers whilst cleaning up after cooking. Yesterday I went to pick and threw them away instead. Also, couldn't face a slice of my husbands cake at all!!
The constipation is real though 😳
Starting weight 12.12 stone and want to be 10 and take it from there.

My first night (last night) was like this. A million burps in bed, peppermint tea helped.

We've got another thread going for people who started this week if anyone wants to join x

Aworldofmyown · 16/07/2024 08:05

2nd week here, and oh my goodness the constipation!

moun82 · 16/07/2024 10:12

Just had my third weigh in...

Starting weight 20st
Week 1-10lb lost
Week 2- 2lb loss
Week 3- 8lb loss

20lb in three weeks and weight now 18st 8lb.

Now obviously I am delighted with such a big loss but I'm worried it's too much (never bloody happy!)

Lumirubin · 16/07/2024 10:13

@Aworldofmyown I was the opposite in the second week and immodium was my friend! Funny how differently it affects people!

That's amazing @moun82 congratulations! But I do know exactly what you mean about worrying that it's too much - I was surprised by my first weight in being a bigger loss than I was expecting and it unnerved me a little bit.

Yes please. Link?

CatOfTheLand · 16/07/2024 13:54

I'm on day 5 and woke up hungry for the first time.

I've lost 4lbs so far, which is obviously loads, but I swear I'd lose 7lbs in a week when I was in my 20s just by doing the cabbage soup diet!

I've had no adverse reactions though and almost total appetite suppression up until now.

Age: 42
SW: 11s 4lbs
CW: 11s
GW: 9s 4lbs

Before anyone questions my weight goals etc, I'm around 5'2 and carry weight in my stomach so look like a weeble. I'm so sick of nothing fitting me anymore and people assuming that I'm pregnant

gimmemounjaro · 16/07/2024 14:12

@CatOfTheLand
Did you find somewhere you could get MJ without needing to have a BMI over 30? I thought that was a standard requirement, but there do seem to be quite a few people on here whose starting stats don't match. If so, could you share where you got it as I am worrying (slightly prematurely with 6 stone to lose ha) about later stages of this journey.

Tillymanilli · 16/07/2024 14:13

Hi all, so I took my fourth injection last Friday and weighed in on Monday and I’ve lost another 3lb so really happy with the progress. No side effects, I’ve ordered my next pen and will be moving onto the 5mg from Friday.

Hope you guys are all doing well.

My stats so far:
Starting weight: 14st 1lb
Week 1 : 13st 7lb
Week 2: 13st 6lb
week 3: 13st 3lb

Total Lost: 12lb
Goal weight: 10st

I used Voy - here's my referral link if you want some ££ off:

If I'd known you needed a BMI of over 30 I probably would have fibbed a bit, but they let me have it with a bmi of 28 or 29. I think because I also have high cholesterol.

I also had to send them a photo where I'm clearly overweight for my height

gimmemounjaro · 16/07/2024 16:02

Thanks @CatOfTheLand that's really helpful, I will bear Voy in mind if I get below 30 and want to continue. Currently on week 1 so don't need a code right now but I'm sure someone will come along who needs it.

I'm not sure if they'll give it to you if you're below 30 if you haven't started with them. Unless you have any extenuating circumstances etc

gimmemounjaro · 16/07/2024 16:53

Ah ok, fair enough 👍

WeAllHaveWings · 16/07/2024 20:09

4th week in and noticing some hair loss, which was thin already,. Could feel much less volume in the shower this morning. 😩 Not sure it is just MJ, weight loss (1st), or recent covid which had me in bed for a week during MJ week 1. Or just the physical stress of all combined.

I'm taking Hair multivitamins, extra vit D, and have just started Biotin. Eating lots of protein and clear protein drinks/yoghurts.

Did anyone else notice hair loss in the first few weeks, and did it stop quickly?

User364837 · 16/07/2024 20:35

My stats so far even though they aren’t very impressive compared to some! But for contrast and for the benefit of people lurking and wondering what to expect -
just did 3rd jab

5’4”,
SW: 88.8kg
week 1: 87.1kg
week 2: 87.0kg (but I went down to 85.6kg mid week then came back up 😆)

first couple of weeks I’ve felt it a lot the first few days and eaten much less, but few days leading up to the jab have felt basically normal.

am remembering that for some the 2.5 is not a therapeutic dose and is for our bodies to get used to it, so not too disheartened yet.

WheresSummer99 · 17/07/2024 10:36

I’m loving not having to deal with the daily food noise and losing weight steadily despite life stress which normally makes me turn to chocolate. I’m reordering my next pen and used someone else’s code so if anyone would like to use mine I’d be grateful.

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 17/07/2024 10:57

I haven't noticed significant hair loss @weallhavewings but it does sound like your body has had a lot to deal with all at once! If it was me, I would give it a week and if it wasn't getting better or was getting worse then I would stop the MJ - is it a reported side effect?
