Mounjaro July 2024

1000 replies

Lumirubin · 20/06/2024 19:20

Thought id start a thread for anyone starting in July given we are almost there. I've just ordered tonight with Voy, hoping I get approved and will be able to start next week.

I'm a little apprehensive as some of my eating habits are emotionally driven not hunger! So I'm going to need to find some will power too. That's why I've gone with a company that provides support as well as just medication.

Anyone fancy joining along?

My starting weight is 18st 1lb and I'm 5ft 5 so I've ALOT to loose.

I use Voy and am also very happy indeed with them .

I have a link for £85 off https://joinvoy.com/r/U-wjjjXONaOY

Lumirubin · 20/06/2024 20:38

I've already ordered, but that's. It seems people are flooding the threads with their discount codes for Voy. Great marketing ploy from them I guess!

I'm very tempted to go for it! Heading off on holiday next week but I think I'm going to order when I get home!

Choc2022 · 21/06/2024 01:34

Hi. How much is Voy with the discount? I've already ordered elsewhere with a view to start in the weekend or whenever it arrives. I too emotionally eat or just eat for the pleasure of it not always hunger but I do get cravings. Hoping it helps that and the money spent motivates me.

My weight is 14 stone and I'm 5'1!!

@Choc2022 I've paid £144 for the first month, but unless you can get someone to use your discount code (hence the constant beg posts) it's £229 a month so one of the more expensive ones! I wanted the other support they provide too though.
I'm the same around eating for pleasure, food is probably my biggest "hobby"! Like planning a holiday also involves planning all the lovely meals we can go have etc. So I need a full mind reset! I'm hoping too that the money spent makes me realise I can't mess around this time or I'm wasting money.

We will probably end up starting on similar days. Fingers crossed this works for us!!

@slummymummy35 I've just come home from holiday and that's what gave me the kick up the backside to take control. Saw my photos from holiday and was just heartbroken that instead of seeing lovely memories with DC I just see how huge I've gotten! (3st gained since getting pregnant in 2021). So I ordered a few days after getting home. Hope you have a lovely holiday!

Jumping on as I’ve just been approved for Mounjaro. Hoping it will arrive next week and I can start on Thursday.

Silvesterthecat · 22/06/2024 15:06

Jumping on the bandwagon but here’s my voy code, works out £144 a pen and I get a discount too :) I think most people swap companies each month and use a code so it’s worth us all sharing.

@Ballyguin I was approved yesterday so I'm hoping it comes Monday or Tuesday! I'm excited but nervous. I'm hoping this is the start of a huge change in my life! How are you feeling?

Stop with the voy codes guys please! There are 3 already on this thread alone

littlemousebigcheese · 22/06/2024 23:20

I'm currently on 5mg and starting to feel really hungry and eating crap again. 2.5 was great but somehow 5 is doing nothing?!
Can anyone recommend a site other than voy? They are super expensive so would love to get it a bit cheaper if possible!

Lumirubin · 23/06/2024 09:28

@littlemousebigcheese that's disappointing to hear. Hopefully you can get back on track..how long were you on the 2.5 for? Ive only ordered from voy so far so haven't got anyone to recommend sorry

OP posts:
littlemousebigcheese · 23/06/2024 09:42

Only a month but it was great! My coach said appetite can fluctuate etc and it'll be ok but I'm still a bit gutted as obv this month injection was 249 so a lot of money to feel like it's essentially doing nothing

Lumirubin · 23/06/2024 09:50

Yeah I'd be feeling the pain from that too! Have you found the coaching helpful or not? I guess that's the part that's made me sign up to voy in the first place, it's the only thing to justify the extra price really. Have they made any other suggestions?

Ballyguin · 23/06/2024 10:44

@Lumirubin, I’m hoping this will set me on a healthier eating path. I’m 58 and eat like a teenager. In my 20’s I was so health conscious and fit (Jane Fonda workouts and clubbing!) but I think I messed my metabolism up by putting on weight in an unhealthy way when people said I looked too skinny (@ 5’ 3” and 8st which is still in the healthy BMI category). Being ND I took what they said as fact and thought I must have been looking awful, although photos from the time prove otherwise!

I'm not aiming to get to 8st, but if I get into the lower 9’s I’ll be happy and at a healthy BMI. I’m 13st 6lb now, which is the heaviest I’ve ever been and the Ring camera is not flattering at all.

I've been wondering how people plan to maintain their new weight if /when they finish Mounjaro? Harking back to my 20’s, and with the benefit of hindsight, I’ve always wished that I hadn’t let myself creep into the next dress size up, I’ve gone from a size 8-10 to a size 16-18 now. If I get to a size 12 I want to try and stick there and use my (lovely new) clothes as a guide to cut back if they start getting tight.

Ballyguin · 23/06/2024 11:04

Meant to add, I’m planning to inject on Thursdays as I’m WFH Friday to Tuesday. That way I’ll be near my own loo if I have any horrible side effects in the first few days.

Superstoria · 23/06/2024 11:18

The only time I’ve successfully maintained for longer than a year was when i threw out all my bigger clothes and refused to let myself buy anything bigger than a 12 and also nothing with stretchy fabric 😂 I also tried to keep fairly strict 5 days a week or when I was on my own, to give me more flex for meals out / with other people. If I ever get there again i will try both of those!

littlemousebigcheese · 23/06/2024 11:25

I've had one coaching session which lasted 20 minutes. She was lovely but I'm not sure it justifies the cost tbh! She said she'll message me weekly on WhatsApp so I'll see if that's useful or not.
She said peoples weight can plateau and it's almost impossible to shift weight so I'm concerned that's where I am as nothing seems to be shifting even when I'm eating 800 calories a day

There should be a separate codes thread for people who have nothing to contribute to threads other than wanting money off their next pen. I’m looking at you @SylviaStrong

Lumirubin · 23/06/2024 14:56

@Ballyguin the links are driving me mad, glad it's not just me!

Mine should come Monday and I was going to take it that day because I'm off until the weekend, but reading on other threads people seem to feel the appetite suppression wearing off in the last 2 days or so, so injecting on a Monday would make me less likely to feel the effects on the weekend. So I should probably hold out. I might try for wednesday because then I'm off Thursday Friday just incase. I also came on today and I feel like it might be better to wait until my actual hormones aren't raging too!

@littlemousebigcheese I've got my first one on Monday. Im nervous about it tbh! But I don't think a WhatsApp once a week is going to justify the extra cost. Might switch after the first month, although daren't say to which company for fear of a million discount codes flashing up haha.

@Superstoria that's a good plan throwing everything out! I've managed to loose up to 2.5st before, but then got pregnant and now I've gained that back plus another 2!!

I'm feeling positive for us all though, we clearly give enough of a crap this time to be here so hopefully this is the one!

I’ve ordered today from MedExpress. Nervously waiting to see if it gets approved. If it does, and it arrives on time, then I’m hoping to start on July 1st. Actually, I’m undecided about when to take it. Maybe I should take it towards the end of the week to avoid binging on a weekend?

I’m 5’3”, 235lbs. I need to lose exactly 100lbs to reach a “healthy” BMI, but to be honest I would be very, very happy to get to 160 (a 75lb loss).

littlemousebigcheese · 24/06/2024 20:52

I'm thinking of cancelling tbh. Nothing feels different at all! I'm still thinking about food 24/7, not losing any weight, hungry constantly etc. bit gutted as I thought it might help

Lumirubin · 25/06/2024 15:29

Hey @NewoIkkin fingers crossed you get approved!

@littlemousebigcheese that's such a shame :( I guess like everything, some people will feel better affects than others. From what I've read 7.5mg is the therapeutic dose, so could you give it another few weeks to get up to 7.5 and see if it makes a difference? Maybe the 2.5 was placebo affect which has worn off and you are ready for the next dose. Can you speak to your coach?

I had my first injection last night. Definitely got appetite suppression today, although I'm not sure if that's placebo. I haven't felt hungry all day, but I often eat for bordem/gratification so not sure if appetite suppression will help anyway! No side effects at all so I wonder if it's actually done anything physical or if it's just all mental

If anyone wants to try ZAVA here is my code and we both get 15% off.

I found the registration process really straight forward. Ordered Saturday, sent in photos Sunday, pens arrived on Tuesday. Took me longer to pluck up the courage to inject!
